Here's a thing about Purple Stars. It's a "Harry Potter" crossover story, but it's also entirely not.

It's origin had more ties to Harry Potter because I was very into the fandom for most of my young adult life. It was...my longest running hyperfixation, for a long time. The rewrite of it is using Harry Potter because that was the way I had originally imagined it. The universe of Purple Stars itself exists without Harry Potter. That is to say everything up to the weird Harry/Aster merging is entirely without Harry Potter references because it was designed without Harry Potter in mind.

I have tooled events that technically, if I ever desired to fully bring this story into another medium (and I have been tempted) that I can fully divest it from Harry Potter entirely. The only portions I would need to rework honestly is REBIRTH, AWAKENING and MEMORY since those are the two stories that have the largest ties to Harry Potter story-events or characters--and really REBIRTH just needs a slight reskin to avoid everything involving anything Harry Potter like.

I might, some day, fully divest the two, because honestly I've long, long outgrown Harry Potter both as a fixation and as a fandom. Anything written in that universe now is merely because I dislike leaving things half-finished or undone, and unless I have truly lost a passion for a story I will at some point finalize it.

To be truthful a part of me has always wanted to comic this story out. It's...why the rewrite has a lot of the experimentation that it has in it so far.

Although if I were to comic this out I...would need to buy stuff first. I've long lost my paper and pencils, and I...do not feel comfortable fully drawing digitally. It's...hard to maneuver the page like how I do when I draw things with pencil and paper when I have a tablet and digital pen on a digital surface.

Hm. I need to go to the store anyway for some pet supplies.

But everything also hurts right now because biology is a bastard.

Anyway end all be-all...I will probably fully divest Purple Stars in a different medium from Harry Potter. I have...notes. For it.

Also I have long loved my murderous Aster and murderous Rivers.

Oh! Random fact: they do refer to each other as siblings, just...not often around others. There's a small group who know that they were "born" in the same location, and that they were all they had for the longest time. When they're with that group Rivers will sometimes just outright call Aster "brother" and Aster will outright refer to Rivers as their "sibling". Despite both monsters having found family and Clan later in life, and found actual tangible evidence that they probably had parents who died, Aster and Rivers consider each other family first. They both consider themselves, even with potential evidence to the contrary, to be born of the Void.
