I made a post about having random headcanons or au's for characters in books, shows, movies, etc. These are sometimes based on a little truth or sometimes 100% unrelated to the character. I wanted to share a few more! As I did last time, I'll try to provide as much explanation as possible, but sometimes there really isn't any as it's my own fantasy. As it's Pride Month, I'll share a few pride headcanons I have!

-Norway (Hetalia): he's a vegetarian (or vegan) (I have no reason for this hc, it just came to me one day and I thought it would be interesting if the other nordics struggled to comprehend Norway not eating meat, eggs, or dairy with them at the dinner table at first, then getting used to it and learning more vegetarian and vegan recipes)

-Piper McLean (The Percy Jackson series): she knows a lot about cars and is very interested in them. She enjoys watching NASCAR (There's not really much reason for this hc; all I can think of is her being a tomboy and stealing a BMW with her Charmspeak; maybe stealing a car made her realize how much she likes them; everyone at Camp Half-Blood, especially the new younger kids, think she's really cool for it; her girlfriend loves it 😏)

-Henry Winter (The Secret History): is so deep in his Dark Academia Lifestyle that he forces himself to do things he doesn't like just because he thinks it looks cool (I can specifically imagine him being far too stubborn to get electric lights for his home and only using his lanterns and candles because of the aesthetic, even though the low yellow lighting ruins his eyes and gives him even more headaches)

-Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade (The Outsiders): they kissed once while in the abandoned church and vowed to never speak of it again (mostly based on the way they interact in the movie - Johnny getting Pony a copy of Gone With the Wind, them watching the sunset like they're in a romance film, snuggling in the church; they probably felt flustered and embarassed about it; I realized I wasn't the only one who thought they looked a little fruity together when I watched clips and read the comments 💀)

-Tori Vega and Jade West (Victorious): Jade hated Tori in the beginning because of jealousy, then grew to like her and become attracted to her, and Tori shares the same feelings (Jade subconsciously tries to test Tori to see if she can handle her, but Tori is tough; Tori also admires Jade and stands up to her, while also caring about her; despite them bickering, Tori is almost always willing to help Jade; they have some soft moments in the show; NickRewind even made a video about Tori and Jade being a good couple)

-Scipio Massimo/Fortunato (The Thief Lord): He is attracted to boys (I actually have this backed up! Cornelia Funke (the author) had responded to a tweet: a fan asked if, hypothetically, Scipio had a girlfriend, how would she be like, and Cornelia answered "I think he would fall in love with a boy"! So maybe this could be considered canon? Even though it's not in the book? You can find this tweet if you scroll for a while on Cornelia Funke's Twitter; I had this hc before I saw the tweet, and I don't have any reason for it)

It's been a long while since last I'd been active in tumblr, but I figured getting to meet new people would be worthwhile as I've made my comeback!

This is the one that came as the biggest shock to me when I went and looked at my kudos count in preparation for this write-up. Like, really? People like the fic where I torture the sassy robot trapped in the body of a stoat for 7k words that much??

4) A Shoulder to Lean On [Avatar: The Last Airbender]

WHERE did all these people come from, I have like 6 comments on this thing (not counting my replies)??? I mean, I'm flattered, but ??!!?!

3) Accepting Amelioration [Voltron: Legendary Defender]

I mean, it's a Voltron fic posted back when the fandom was in full swing, it doesn't really surprise me the kudos counter is considerable, though I am still surprised it got that much traction considering the fic is gen and not shippy. Am still proud I made the first daemon AU in the entire fandom, though, if this is my claim to fame, then I'm ok with that. :p

2) Temporary Shelter [Astro / VIXX]

I seriously have no freaking clue how this little self indulgent Kpop crossover fic became so popular, I really don't. I mean, Kpop crossovers are niche at the best of times, and these two groups aren't exactly the most popular Kpop fandoms on AO3 if you know what I mean. It basically started as "wouldn't it be fun if my two favorite Kpop groups were secretly friends all this time? How would I have that happen, tho?" and then snowballed from there. I, uh. I'm glad so many other people like it, ig? 0_0

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Absolutely. It's only fair I reply if someone takes the time to read on my work and actually give me feedback about it, wouldn't you say? Plus, like most authors, I enjoy talking about my own work, so sue me. >:p

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't usually do angsty endings; I prefer happy or at least bittersweet ones. I guess by default, it has to be the fic where I slowly killed off America and China from Axis Powers Hetalia for 13k words, while the rest of the cast had already been dead for centuries at that point. So yes, the entire cast of that series was dead by the end of that fic. :))) IN MY DEFENSE, ok, I was actually trying to give them a bittersweet ending by reuniting them with all of their old friends and family by finally letting them rest after so long alone, but it still turned out really sad. TT TT It's basically my only fic where I can't go back and reread it more than once every couple of years, because I still end up a sobbing mess by the end.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Well, I guess that's what you define "happiest" as. The most cathartic? The one with the least amount of trauma and extreme bodily injury incurred by the characters? 🤔 I guess by the latter definition, it would Kaleidoscopic Perceptions, a very fluffy USPH college AU that I actually enjoyed writing a lot despite me not usually enjoying romance or college AUs.

No, thankfully. I've gotten a couple kinda weird comments, and of course the obligatory "It's been X months since you updated were you aware?????" comments, but no outright negativity.

LMAO. Absolutely not.

Yes! I really love crossovers. I have a few common fallbacks that fit with a lot of fandoms (daemon AUs, Firefly AUs, etc.), but I also enjoy fandom-specific crossovers when I can figure out how to pull them off.

No idea. I hope not!

Just once for this Gravity Falls fic.

Yes. It had a few ups and downs, but it was overall a really positive experience, and I think it turned out really well!

Er, none of them, hopefully? I hope that I eventually get to finish all my WIPs at some point, even if it might take me awhile. >.>; But I suppose if I had to pick ONE to abandon, I'd probably pick Written In, my D&D Inscryption crossover AU. I like the IDEA for it, but writing it out is like pulling teeth, and after the first installment where the party gets together, I don't really have a lot of ideas on where to take the plot. :/ Like I have the general overarching idea but no plot structure or anything but small disconnected story beats.

Becoming Real, a Kpop fanfic based on VIXX's Voodoo Doll MV. However, it can easily stand on its own as its own original work. I consider it the most accessible story I've ever written, and it also was just very easy for me to write. Writing is often like pulling teeth for me, but not this story.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

So on AO3 I got My Hero Academia, Detective Conan/Magic Kaito and Before the Coffee gets cold. Outside of AO3 I got some Naruto, FMA, One Piece, Bungo Stray Dogs, wips too (and there was that time I was writing crack fic about Mob Psycho here on tumblr with Panda, that was fun). There's probably some other I've forgotten too- oh yeah there was some Hetalia at some point.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I tend to but lately, I haven't really kept up with it. I am sorry. I should get to it at some point soon, but be aware every comment is read and enjoyed.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Morituro, probably? Considering both All Might and Izuku died so, yeah.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I like to think it's Before The Coffee Gets Cold - The Sisters, since this fic is about closure after death.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Oh! I got once a hate comment on who the f- is this, to which i answered with an essay or two. I probably shouldn't have but also it was really fun at the time. Otherwise I don't believe I do.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I can barely write romance, smut is way out of my reach. I also don't really have any interest in writing any, to be honest.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Crossovers are probably right after Time Travel in term of things I love. Not one I've written but special mention to that one time I dream about Zabuza from naruto/Reigen from mob psycho as a ship.

Don't know if it's the craziest but I had a The Rising of the Shield Hero/Naruto one started once, there was also that Detective Conan/My Hero Academia one started with Panda that the idea was so good. We should get back to it, one day.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

*squint* I don't think so (unless it was done without my knowledge) but strong maybe back in my ff.net era. Though I did translate some fics myself before (it wasn't done very well, but I did try back then, and it did help me a lot learning english. Problem was I'm not good at grammar stuff.)

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Once again, there was that cracky Mob Psycho one here somewhere. Also, some projects with Panda that are really good except words hard for both of us.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

...yeah no idea right now, come ask me another time. (It tends to change on the day, but also right now I'm on a no-romance streak so, better luck next time)

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

*crying* all of them.

Okay so, first of all, a wip is never dead unless I decide to bury it. Which doesn't happens. I still have hope one day I'll get back to them.

Right now I really want to work on Dad For All and the DCMK NOC AU except, word hard and planning harder. But I'll get there, one day, even if it's in 10 years.

I honestly got no idea? I probably got some I'm just not sure what it could be.

word hard. Also no idea how grammar works beyond "whatever feels right to me".

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Eeh, I probably wouldn't do it because it's bothersome having to look up a translation while you're reading a fic, unless it's something that fits with the context or just a few words here and there. Also switching languages in the middle of thinking is so hard to do, why would you do this to me.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Naruto, back in uuuhhhhhh probably middle school. It was a long time ago. Nothing is left of what I could have written then. (Also close to that time period was D.Gray-man).

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Huge huge huge fondness for Before The Coffee Gets Cold - The Sisters, probably because Im very fond of that universe and also when grief is explored and closure is sought. I also really like the flowers have water.

Who the f- is this and Noisy as the dead are my funny projects though, I have lot of fun working on them.

Okay since I will not be quiet about it, MHA AU Alfred being Hawks embracing the trueblooded delinquent he is.

I have not watched MHA in many, many years or interacted with it in any way for just as long, but one of the things I do remember is what fascinated me about the series to begin with: the Pro Hero system and the way it works. (Apologies in advanced if I get anything wrong about canon bc again, it's been a very long while)

The professional hero system as it stands seems severely flawed, and the inherent way the rules and regulations heroes have to follow seem risky if not outright dangerous. While in such a superpowered society it would be important to regulate the usage of powers and I do totally understand the need to do so, it ultimately does nothing to inherently stop the rise of villains, and in fact it seems to end up making it worse. If you improperly regulate quirks and make it so only certain people are allowed to use them to help, it creates a severe power imbalance between good vs evil wherein the heroes are so severely monitored and controlled while the villains have free reign to do anything they want. Chances are if they're breaking normal, non-quirk based laws, why would the care about quirk restrictions?

When you get to the point in a society where pretty much every action you as a hero has to take is so severely monitored and there's a whole scope of regulations you have to adhere to while the villains are free to do what they want without repercussions (as long as they don't get caught), you've basically pinned yourself in an extremely rough position. When you are restricted in what steps or counter measures you can take while your enemy has no such limitations, you are putting yourself and those around you at risk.

As an additional thought I had...the direct privitization of heroes where they have to be overseen by some higher party seems particularly dangerous. While sure it may be incredibly hard, if someone ever managed to infiltrate those higher ups with an ulterior motivd, who is to say they have an agenda that suits the greater good. It reminds me a lot of the Sokovia Accords in MCU where if you force heroes to be directly controlled by someone or something with an agenda, loyalties change over time, people can be bought out, and suddenly those heroes brought in to do good may be serving a power that is only working towards personal gain.

All these are things HawkFred would be slowly building up against, realizing that the system he works under may be doing more harm than good. The worst of it all would come down to the schooling system that feeds into the Pro Hero organization. While yes, it is important to raise children to understand the importance of their quirks, how to use them safely, etc. but when you are designing literal schools to put kids (CHILDREN) through intensive military-esque training all to fuel a heroic system built to cull the rising collection of villains, there is perhaps a very serious readjustment that needs to be made to the system you're working.

Hawkfred, a kid that went through the system, who did everything right to secure himself as a professional hero, only to actually work in the system and realize that they're just massproducing compliant, superpowered soldiers and putting actual children at risk. The realization that he's working to uphold a dangerous system once the wow factor of being a superhero wears off, and then realizing this wasn't what he intended when he signed up to be a Pro Hero.

All of this to say Pro Hero Alfred moonlighting as a vigilante because the system as it stands is dangerous and needs to be deconstructed-
