YOUR BAR BOYFRIEND
- after being harassed by a drunken stranger, your bar boyfriend swoops in to save the day (bob floyd x fem!reader, fluff, reader is intended to be on the quieter/more introverted side, but if you’re not like that you can ignore that one line ⚠️ verbal sexual harassment, drinking).
PART 2
Tumblr media
word count: 1,206
a/n - tell a friend to tell a friend… SHE’S BAAACKKKK!!!! i’m so glad to be back to writing, y’all have no idea how much i missed it. i’ll probably be a bit rusty until i find my rhythm, so please ignore the not-top-quality writing until then. also, feel free to send in requests or chat!!
Tumblr media
“Oh, no, I’m sorry, I have a boyfriend.” You utter apologetically, side-stepping the arm of the man in front of you. He reeks of beer and a hard day’s work, his scruffy face all too unkept in the lighting of the bar. You can’t even fathom exactly why you’re in the bar in the first place- you’ve never been one to explore, but this man is making you feel like you never want to leave your house again.
Your eyes scan the room, but no one seems to notice your predicament. The bar is full of Navy men, surely one of them would be fine with pretending to help you. “C’mon, sugar, one drink. Thas’ all ya have to do. If it goes well, hey, I wouldn’t mind one fuck either.” He grins, winking. The hope that you held in your heart is quickly dissipating. “He don’t have to know.” You feel your stomach drop as he moves to grab your hand, but an firm grip shoves his fingers away instead.
“Honey, is this guy bothering you?” A voice behind you speaks. You quickly turn around.
“I… yeah.” You stutter. You’re staring right into the face of a guy in a uniform, his jaw set as he glares at the drunk through his glasses.
He moves in front of you, creating a physical barrier between you and the significantly shorter man. Relief floods you. “Then I think he’d better leave before someone kicks him out, huh?”
The intoxicated man rolls his eyes, but frantically shuffles out the door of the bar. His gait was evidently terrified.
The tension is pulled from your shoulders, and you unintentionally sigh. The guy with glasses turns around to face you. His expression is softer now that the threat is gone, and his concern is almost cute.
“Are you alright?” He asks. “I’m sorry for the pet name thing, but I overheard you and I couldn’t really just stand there and watch. I’m Bob, by the way, Bob Floyd.” He reaches his hand out for you to shake, and as you do, his hesitates through his rambling.
You smile at him. “Thank you, Bob, I’m fine. And I don’t mind.” His grip is firm but not crushing, just like his presence. You introduce yourself, and he nods like he’s desperate to commit the sound of your name to memory. The respectful tone is honestly a breath of fresh air with the raucous energy of the Hard Deck, causing your cheeks to be a few degrees warmer when you pull your hand away. Our of the corner of your eye, you can see him wipe his somewhat clammy hands on the sides of his pants.
“Also, I’m sorry for taking the place of your actual boyfriend. I assumed you just didn’t know where he was, so I stepped in.” His eyes search for your own, holding steady eye contact. They’re the prettiest shade of blue you’ve ever seen.
“There’s nothing to apologize for. I don’t actually have a boyfriend, but I thought a lie was the better choice. You saved me, and that’s all that matters.” Your voice has a certain breathy quality to it. You’ve completely transitioned from terror to being deeply attracted to the person who spared you an even more intense confrontation. Bob’s eyes widen just slightly.
He takes his hands away from his sides and motions to one of the tables in the corner, his face just the slightest bit pinker. “Would you want to sit down?”
You nod, and he leads the way. As he’s pulling out your chair for you, you can’t help but wonder how your night turned out this way. You went from having the worst night of your life to dizzily encountering the person you could only describe as being your bar boyfriend.
You just recently moved to this part of San Diego for a newfound job opportunity, completely unaware of your proximity to the Hard Deck and a Naval base. You didn’t know anyone or anything, and as someone who isn’t necessarily very outgoing, it was hard for you to adjust. Not even your coworkers were easy to make friends with, so you slowly became more and more isolated.
The bar was kind of your last resort. You didn’t expect to find anything great, and you still don’t know what compelled you to go, but some hidden part of you figured that at least you could get some form of entertainment. Finding Bob, though, you never expected.
Conversation feels easy with him. He seems like a quiet guy, but he knows exactly what to say to keep you talking, and he offers insights of his own that just further the subject you’re talking about. Words fly from your mouths, and you can say that you’ve never enjoyed talking more. You bounce from common topics like work and hobbies to deeper breakdowns of memories and experiences, your smile growing wider every second. You’re completely in a world that was built brick by brick for you and him.
You’re so lost in the moment that you don’t even notice the woman who rests her hand on the back of your chair until she speaks. “Bob, you of all people? Never would’ve expected you to abandon us for a pretty girl.”
Bob reddens as you turn to face her. “Sorry, Nat.”
She holds a hand out to you, which you shake. “Call me Phoenix. He’s my backseater, and apparently a lady killer tonight.”
Bob stands as Phoenix gives him a pointed look. “Sorry to steal him away from you, but he’s taken way too long of a break from our pool game. I’ll give him back to you later.”
“You say that like I’m a robot.” He grumbles, showing just a hint of disappointment at having to leave your conversation.
You wave him away. “Have fun, Bob. I’d better go anyways.”
“Wait-“ he starts as you stand up, “-could I give you my number first?”
You secretly cheer inside of your head. You nod, and he takes a pen out of his shirt pocket. “Here.” He mumbles, writing it on a spare napkin and handing it to you. His fingers brush over yours, sending electrifying sparks throughout your entire body. You could get used to this feeling, you think. His hand hovers for a split second before regretfully moving away. “It’s, uh, it’s up to you, but I’d really like it if you called or texted. I had a nice time with you.”
You tuck the napkin into your bag, eyes soft. Bob thinks he’s never seen a sight so beautiful- the sun is setting behind you, and it casts you in a golden light as your mouth quirks up. “Of course I will. I had a nice time with you too.”
Your voice is quiet, but a sound that he relishes all the same. He could’ve gotten lost in you if Phoenix wasn’t impatiently tapping her foot next to him.
She pulls him away, and though he knows he’s up for a lot of teasing, Bob can’t find it in himself to care. He just knows that he needs to see you again, and you know that no matter what, you’ll make it happen.

ATTACK ON TITAN - JUST A TAD JEALOUS
includes: jean kirstein, eren jaeger, connie springer and levi ackerman all xfem!reader
a/n: i honestly don't know what this is :)
jean kirstein:
pouty :(
as much as he tries to act confident, jean gets extremely insecure when he sees someone else flirty with you
he'll watch from a far as the guy smirks down at you, invading your personal space as he brushes a strand of hair behind your ear and whispers something into it all one fell swoop - and jean will hardly be able to stop the heavy pout that curls onto his lips
it's not that he doesn't trust you (literally, takes everything you say and believes it - he trusts you more than anything) but he can't help but wondering if maybe that guy would look better with you and if others think that too
he can be a little oblivious sometimes and although he tries to make you his first priority, it doesn't always work out that way
maybe you'd be happier with this-
"i have a boyfriend, thank you very much"
your voice booms over the noise of the party, the noise cutting out momentarily as jean blinks in your direction.
he'd looked away for a split second and now you're glaring up at the guy, eyes set into a nasty glare as you push him off of you
a second later and you're marching your way through the crowd, ignoring the eyes that follow you or the sputter of the guy behind you, not stopping until you reach jean and the second you do the frown that had been stuck on your lips vanishes and a warm smile curls onto your lips
"there you are"
jean just blinks down at you
"why didn't you come save me," you pout up at him, falling against him dramatically as you draped yourself over him entirely; "that guy was weird and creepy and all i wanted was my handsome, strong boyfriend to protect me"
:((
now he feels worse
"sorry baby," he smiles down but it doesn't reach his eyes
you meet his gaze before shaking your head, "don't worry, jean, i would never leave you"
and he feels his heart swell at your words and the fact that he hadn't even had to say anything and you just knew
eren jaeger:
doesn't even let the guy finish
one second he's talking to armin after class about a project coming up and it's like his sense go off, his head snapping over his shoulder in the direction of you
erens eyes widen
you've been cornered against a wall, some guy eren's never seen before stood in front of you with his arm stretched across you, palm pressed against the wall next to your head
that's all it takes
the guys halfway through sending some sort of flirtatious comment your way when eren abruptly shoves his way through, not-so-subtly shoving the guy out of the way and coming to stand in front of you, fulling blocking your view of the guy
you're swarmed by him, eren's arms coming around you and pressing you against the wall as he smirks down at you
you blink up at him, dazed, the whole thing happening far too quick for you to process
"hi baby"
there's a shit-eating grin across his face
"eren-!"
"excuse me but i was-"
eren spins around, smile fading as he glowers down at the guy
"excuse you," he spits, "but i'm trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend"
every bit of his confidence fades then before he scampers away, thoroughly embarrassed
"that's what i thought"
"eren," you call, tugging him to face, "he-"
"was flirting with you," eren rolls his eyes like he can't believe you're even questioning it, "and i had to protect your honour!"
you just raise a brow at him
connie springer:
he's a little shit to be honest
not at all threatened but that doesn't mean he's gonna let the guy flirt with you
oh, definitely not
"y/nnnnnnnn~! i'm horny!"
cue you burning bright red, body tensing as connie wraps his entire body around you, nearly toppling you over as the boy in front of you turns beet red himself, sputtering
"i-i..."
"mm?" connie questions, lazily letting his eyes drift to the boy like he'd just noticed him for the first time (which all of you knew wasn't true), "oh, didn't see you there"
the boy blinks
"you're so... tiny"
your jaw slacks, "connie!"
"what!"
you just turn to him but he's grinning, eyes twinkling with delight as he shifts, moving to wrap an arm around your waist and pulling you flush against his side
"seriously though, y/n, i'm horny"
"connie, what the-"
"i-i... i should go!"
the boy goes running off before you can say anything
silence follows
"connie"
"hm?"
"he was asking me about the project we were grouped together for"
"oh"
turning to him, you shake your head, "yeah, 'oh'! what am i supposed to say to him now?"
"nothing?" connie shrugs, like the answer was obvious
"connie!"
"what!"
you huff, rolling your eyes but unable to stop the smile that slowly curls onto your lips at your boyfriend
"i was serious you know"
"shut up"
levi ackerman:
no one dares, to be honest
levi is quite literally glued to your hip
he's not a big fan of pda, but he is always near you; whether that be a hand pressed against your back, or holding your hand, or hovering somewhere close to you...
levi is always there
...glaring at any potential man that step towards you
if a guy does try to flirt (not even flirt, just talk to you) with you, levi is glaring at him the. entire. time.
a domineering, honestly terrifying presence behind you constantly
and you?
you're aware and you simply let levi
you're just as smitten with him as he is you and you'd happily let him do whatever he wanted if it meant just getting to spend time with him
levi has no reason to even get jealous because no one dares and you're utterly oblivious to any attempts
if someone flirts with you, you just simply bring up levi, smiling brightly and giggling at the mere thought of your adorable, wonderful boyfriend
and honestly?
its a huge boost to his ego

___
7:32 am. It’s helpful in this line of work to know exactly when you’re fucked.
The espresso machine has been on the fritz all week and despite how much you want your current method of fixing it to work – banging a fist on the top until it stops wheezing – all signs point to today being a very bad day indeed.
You’ve only been open for two hours.
Here for three, awake for four. God, you’re tired.
Anyway – you’re fucked. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
You call the time of death on the machine and search for something you can write on.
The Zone – a stupid name, but you can’t be bothered to change the sign that came with the place – is a coffee shop that sits between towns.
Your coffee shop.
It's more shack than shop, not really a zone of anything, just an order window and a five-drink menu. It's the kind of place that appears like a mirage for tourists right before they get on the highway at an ungodly hour and serves as a quick stop for everyone else. You open earlier than any other place around to get the truckers and the farmers and close when you stop being able to keep your eyes open.
The faded brown clapboard building is no bigger than an RV. The paint is chipped and the roof is a too-bright shade of green and you serve your drinks and the occasional sweet treat when you can get a good deal off of the baker two towns over through a window. It’s not a fancy chain, it’s not a drive-thru. You’ve got a bathroom and a few rickety cafe tables and chairs and no fucking common sense since you like it.
You even love it, some days.
And the craziest part is that it works. Even on mornings like this one, when your espresso machine breaks during the lull between rushes and your part-time help calls in sick and you’ve spilled coffee all over your apron twice – it works.
You tear off the lip of a cardboard box and write in big block letters: NO ESPRESSO TODAY. Maybe Tess, the baker, knows someone who can fix it. She knows everyone.
“Fuck you, you piece of junk,” you say. You give the machine another smack for good measure.
Someone clears their throat and you whirl around, makeshift sign in hand.
You’ve been doing this long enough that a handsome customer doesn’t phase you, but the man standing at your order window makes your stomach swoop for just a second.
“Morning,” you say, summoning your smile. “Hold on a sec, let me just –”
You lean out the window and wedge the piece of cardboard against the napkin holder on the ledge.
The man’s gaze drops to read. You take the opportunity to look at him.
He’s tall and broad – if you had to guess, you’d say he works on one of the farms around here. He’s tan, dark hair threaded through with grey. His arms are crossed and you wish he wasn’t wearing a jacket so you could see his forearms. His denim shirt is undone at the top and you fixate on the chorded column of his throat, on the teasing glimpse of chest hair underneath.
The guy looks tired.
Bone-tired, the kind of exhaustion you see when you look in the mirror. It comes from hundreds of early mornings and late nights, from hours on your feet and plenty of worry. He’s got lines at the corners of his eyes and a few around his mouth and you find yourself hoping they’re from laughter.
“No espresso,” he reads, slow and unhurried. His drawl fits in with most of the folks around here, but you’re sure you haven’t seen him before. You’d remember.
“Hope that doesn't scare you off,” you say. “Still got everything else.”
“Everything else being…” He glances at the chalkboard that serves as your menu.
DRIP COFFEE. LATTE. CAPPUCCINO. TEA. HOT CHOCOLATE. All written in your blocky hand in white paint.
“Three options.”
Trial and error have taught you that simple works best. You’ll make anything people ask for, so long as you know how and have the supplies, and if they’re nice about it you won’t charge too much extra.
“Can I get you one of those three options?”
You’re not trying to rush him, but the next wave of people is bound to show up any minute.
“Black coffee will do,” he says. His mouth tugs up at the corner into a smirk that makes your face feel hot. “If you have that.”
“Thank you for taking pity on me,” you say, going for teasing and missing the mark by a mile. You just sound tired and genuine. “You just made my morning.”
He looks amused and you turn from him, unable to hide your grin. You pour a steaming cup and snap the lid on.
“Pretty shit morning if this is makin’ it,” he drawls.
You hand him the cup and your fingers brush.
“You have no idea.”
He eyes the sign again and then your stained apron. “I got some notion.” He tugs his wallet from his back pocket and pulls out a $5 bill. “Keep the change,” he says.
You want to refuse, to thank him, but a few more cars pull up and Mr. Black Coffee just raises his cup to you and heads back to his truck.
Well, shit. You hope he comes back. A tipper like that, and hot? You sure wouldn’t mind if he became a regular customer. __
You call Tess that afternoon and she does know a guy, so the espresso machine gets fixed and things go back to normal. Your part-time help returns in the morning and nothing else breaks.
Today is uncharacteristically warm for the season. The inside of The Zone is almost stifling, always at least 15 degrees warmer than outside, and you keep wiping your sweaty hands on your apron as you make espresso after espresso for the lunch crowd.
Cat, a spunky girl who likes to practice her latte art when it’s slow, takes orders at the register. You keep half of your attention on her and half on the four drinks you’re working on.
“Black coffee, please,” someone says to her. Someone whose voice you recognize.
“Can I get a name for that?” Cat asks. It’s busy enough that calling names is easier than calling orders, no matter how small your menu is.
“Joel,” he says. You let the milk steam on its own and pour the black coffee before Cat can do it.
“I’ve got it,” you tell her. “Can you finish up those drinks?”
She shrugs and you swap places. You know you’re sweaty and coffee-stained but you smile at him and hand over his coffee.
“Hot coffee on a day like this?” you tease. He – Joel – is sweaty, too. The collar of his work shirt is dark with sweat and his hair is a mess. He must be here on his lunch break. He takes the cup from you and slurps a long sip as a reply to your question.
You laugh. Joel looks pleased.
“Operatin’ a full menu, I see,” he says, pulling out another $5. “Glad you got it fixed.”
“It’s still a piece of junk,” you shrug. “Just don’t tell anyone I said that.”
He waves off your offer of change and raises his cup at you, taking a few steps backward towards his truck.
“Thank you,” he says. He eyes the tag on your chest and tacks your name on at the end. It sounds good from his mouth.
“Bye, Joel,” you say. His lips twitch but you barely have time to think about it before you have to take the next few orders.
The line dies down and you step away from the register to help Cat with some cappuccinos – your least favorite drink by far due to all the damn foam they require – and she eyes you.
“Dude,” Cat says. “What the hell was that?”
If it wasn’t already a billion degrees in here you know your face would feel hot.
“What the hell was what?”
She can’t reply for a few seconds while you grind beans for some espresso.
“I didn’t even know you knew how to flirt,” she muses, tapping a frother full of milk a few times. “That was pretty bad flirting if you ask me –”
You turn the grinder on again to drown her out.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you yell. She rolls her eyes at you until you turn off the machine.
You tamp down the grounds and slot them into the machine.
“I mean, not my type at all, for like, so many reasons,” she says, wrinkling her nose. “Way too old for me, for one. Man, for another. But I see the appeal, I guess. Seems like he likes you. And was that a five-dollar bill? Black coffee is two bucks, last time I checked –”
“Can we get back to steaming milk, please?” you snap, more embarrassed than mad. “I am not taking flirting advice from a teenager.”
“I’m twenty!” she sputters. “Wait, so you admit that you like him?”
“Milk.”
Cat is right, though, and you know it. You just don’t see any harm in having a crush on some guy who comes to your coffee shop. Running this place means you see hundreds of people every day. You know their names, you ask them about their kids and their pets and their jobs, and you smile at them even on your bad days. It’s just part of the job. The daily interactions keep you afloat, make you feel more solid in your own life. People see you, they recognize you, they know you – even if it’s just because you make them coffee.
Maybe Joel will keep coming back. Maybe he’ll become one of the regulars you know things about.
And if you have a crush on him?
No harm done. He’s nice to look at.
And he tips well.
__
Joel stops by again.
And again.
And again.
He comes in every morning – sometimes at lunch – and orders the same thing. You learn the rumble of his truck by ear alone, the crunch of his boots on the gravel. Sometimes people in line say hi to him and a smile works its way onto your face on instinct when his voice reaches your ear. It’s never slow enough to have a proper conversation but he smiles at you, tells you he likes the flowers, your new apron.
All of it is flirting but maybe not flirting.
Maybe he’s just being polite.
Also, he keeps overpaying.
One day, almost a month since you first saw him, he doesn’t come in the morning.  When you don’t see him in line at lunch, either, you’re a little disappointed. The weather is perfect – not too hot, not too cold, the sun shining – and you want to see him in the sunlight.
The day crowd is long gone and you’re only an hour or two from closing when his truck pulls up.
“I was getting worried,” you call as he walks over. Usually, he’s got some kind of dust or paint or something on them – Joel is a contractor, you’ve learned through your brief encounters, not a farmer – but today his clothes are clean and un-ripped.
“I’m honored,” he says.
You have his cup ready by the time he reaches the window.
“I’m just surprised you can get through the day without a cup of coffee.”
He snorts and hands you his cash.
“I can’t,” he says. “Had shitty home brew this morning.”
He takes a sip of your coffee and sighs. Your heart picks up and you don’t hide your grin.
“What’s with the schedule change?” you ask.
He smirks. “Miss me?”
You scoff and cross your arms. Heat rises in your chest and you feel almost giddy.
“Just curious,” you say. “Don’t let it go to your head, but you’re my favorite customer.”
Joel laughs and scratches the back of his neck.
“Reckon that’s the tip.”
“Actually, ordering a cup of black coffee is the way to any barista’s heart.”
Joel’s eyebrows climb up his forehead.
“Ah,” he says. He takes another sip, his eyes dancing with mirth. “‘Course.”
“Nah,” you say with a teasing smile. “I’d never be so shallow.”
There’s no line behind him but you expect him to go back to his truck, anyway. But here he is. Talking to you.
You grab a rag and wipe down the counter to keep your hands busy.
“I’m, uh. Meetin’ one of my kids here,” Joel says. The sudden shyness that accompanies his admission is a surprise.
Your eyes dart to his hand but you see no ring, nor the pale shadow of one.
“Both of ‘em moved to the city recently. Ellie – she’s comin’ up for the night.”
“I’ll bet you miss them,” you offer. You’re not sure why he’d want to bring his daughter to your coffee shack, but you’re not complaining.
Joel smiles at you. It’s a sad smile but still a good one. The affection in his eyes is raw.
“Sure do,” he says. He tucks one hand in his pocket and takes another sip of his coffee. “But it’s good for them. Sarah – she’s a little older – is in school and Ellie is workin’ on her music and whatever else she’s into these days.” The pride in his voice is clear.
“Well, I’m honored you want to bring her here.” You gesture to your slightly sad sitting area and the empty lot behind him.
Joel looks ready to argue with you when a faded, older version of his truck pulls up. Music leaks from the open windows and the driver bops her head to the beat a few times before shutting it off and hoping out, thumbs flying on the screen of her phone.
“That’ll be her,” he says drily. “Hey, kiddo.”
Ellie looks up from her hands, tucks her phone in her back pocket, and grins at Joel.
She doesn’t look a thing like him, but the connection is obvious. She moves like him, her shoulders set like she’s ready for a challenge at any moment. Joel sets his coffee down at the window and meets her halfway for a hug.
You look away and busy yourself with restocking whatever you can get your hands on.
“Dude, you come here every day?” Ellie asks. “Joel, this is so far from –”
Joel talks over her.
“Drive go okay? Sarah said they’re doin’ shit on the 35 –”
Ellie huffs.
“Yeah, yeah, some traffic getting out of the city ‘cause of the fucking lane closure, but otherwise fine.”
“Good.”
You turn to face them, a genuine smile firmly in place.
“Hi,” you say. Joel picks up his coffee again, which Ellie eyes with a scowl. You introduce yourself to her. “You’re Ellie, right? I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Ellie frowns. Behind her, Joel’s mouth twitches but he says nothing. It’s a lie, obviously, but something tells you he doesn’t mind and she believes it.
“Really?” She throws him a glare and then rolls her eyes. “You gotta stop telling strangers about me, man.”
“Someone’s gotta warn ‘em,” he says.
She laughs. “Hey, fuck you!”
“Only good stuff,” you say. You like her. “Joel says you’re working on your music?”
Ellie’s eyes light up. “Oh, yeah,” she says. “I’ve got an audition next week.” She turns to Joel. “I brought my guitar ‘cause I have a fuck ton of songs to play for you.”
He puts a hand on her shoulder and she settles a little.
“I bet they’re real good.”
Ellie flushes and rolls her eyes. “Yeah, well. You have to hear them first.”
You feel a little off-balance again, like you’re on the fringes of something you shouldn’t be seeing. The love on Joel’s face is clear as day.
“Do you want some coffee?” you ask her.
Joel winces. Ellie gags.
“No offense,” she starts, eyes darting between you and Joel. “I know Joel is fifty percent coffee on a good day, but it’s not my thing.” She looks at the menu and narrows her eyes. “I had a mocha the other day and didn’t hate it. Do you make those?”
“Look at that,” Joel says. “You’re convertin’.”
“Am not,” Ellie says. “It’s got chocolate in it, dude. No shit, I like it.”
“Yeah, give me a few minutes,” you laugh. “I’ll put lots of chocolate in it.”
They sit at one of your tables and you hear their laughter in the background as you make her drink.
It’s strange to see Joel like this – to build up on the man you’ve imagined him to be in your mind. Father never occurred to you. It makes sense, though, like a missing piece of him slotted into place. But it also makes the crush feel a little more real. Now that he’s more than your favorite regular customer. Now that you know a piece of him, of who he really is.
It makes you want to know more.
You finish her drink and call Ellie’s name. They both stand and Joel digs in his wallet again.
“Don’t you dare pay me, Joel,” you say. You direct your next words at Ellie. “Really. I’m just honored you stopped by.”
She eyes Joel and he eyes her right back with the same look. She must have learned it from him.
“Yeah,” she says. “Me too.” She grins at you with all of her teeth. “Joel loves this place. Talks about it all the time.”
She takes a sip of her mocha and her eyes go wide.
“Wait, this is fucking good. Man, I see why you drive –”
Joel clears his throat.
“We’re off,” he says. “Thank you, as always.” He sounds softer than usual as if being nice to his daughter is the best thing you could do for him.
You suppose it is.
“You’re welcome, as always.”
Ellie knocks her shoulder with Joel’s as they head back to their trucks. She must be whispering something to him because he swats her away with a groan and she cackles.
They both wave at you as they drive away.
__
Joel keeps coming in the mornings, and your conversations return to their fleeting cadence. Even so, it’s hard to deny that your crush on him has kicked into high gear.
You try not to let your gaze linger on his lips, on his throat. On his hands when he takes the cup from you, how your skin brushes and it makes you warm all over. You think about how he laughed, how relaxed he was around Ellie. You want to know what he’s like outside of your small daily interaction. You want to know what he eats for dinner, how he spends his weekends, what he listens to on the radio.
You want him.
Business is busy, which helps. A kid from a few towns over – Jesse, he’s called – signs on to work part-time, mostly for the second half of the day. He’s been a barista before so the training is minimal, but it still changes the flow of things. He’s a charming guy and the regulars take to him easy enough.
It’s you who is distracted.
One morning, Joel comes in as expected. Jesse is working, too, trying to clock some extra hours this week.
Joel is on the phone in line, his attention somewhere else. He’s frowning, a deep crease between his brows as he waits in line. All it would take to smooth it away is the press of your thumb.
You try not to stare and probably fail, but manage to take and make the orders ahead of him without making any mistakes, though your whole body feels alight.
He hangs up right as he gets to the window and sighs, giving you a tired smile.
“Howdy,” he says. You set his coffee down in front of him and he pulls out a ten-dollar bill instead of a five.
“Joel –” you say, but he interrupts you.
“My brother called and said he needs breakfast,” Joel grumbles. “Y’got any of Tess’s bear claws?”
Right, they work together, you remember. He’s mentioned Tommy in passing.
“I think so, just hold on a sec.”
“Take your time,” Joel says. It sounds like he means it, even though there’s a line behind him and he probably needs to get to work.
You do find a few bear claws in the box Tess gave you early this morning when you stopped by the bakery.
“You’re in luck,” you say, putting it in a paper bag. “Well, Tommy is.”
“Savin’ my ass,” he tells you when you hand it to him. “Thanks, sweetheart.”
The word sends a jolt of lightning through your whole body. He doesn’t even seem to realize he’s said it but your world shifts slightly on its axis. Sweetheart.
He turns on his heel before you can give him change for his cash, his phone ringing.
“Jesus, Tommy, I said I’d –”
You let him fade into the distance and smile at your next customer.
“How can I help you?”
A few orders later you end up next to Jesse making some lattes.
“Was that Joel Miller?” Jesse asks. “Before. The guy with the black coffee and bear claw?”
You startle. “Um. It was. How do you –”
“I didn’t know he was a customer here,” Jesse says. “Does he come in a lot?”
You unpack a few more cinnamon buns that Tess gave you this morning. “Yeah, every day.”
“Damn,” he says. “He must really like your coffee.”
“Are you trying to say it’s bad coffee, Jesse?”
He huffs a laugh. “No, boss, ‘course not.” He grinds beans for a few seconds but continues once he’s done, steady hands tamping down the results. “I just know he lives like, a half-hour away. And that there are plenty of coffee shops there, too.”
You narrow your eyes. “How do you know him, Jesse?”
“His daughter, Ellie, is a friend of mine,” he shrugs. “Went over to their house plenty of times in high school.”
“Well. He’s a contractor, right? I bet he has a job out here.”
Jesse clips the espresso into the machine and starts on some milk.
“I’m not saying he doesn’t,” he muses. “I am saying that it takes at least 30 minutes to get here from where he lives.”
It’s silly. You’re half-flattered, half-confused. Yeah, you like Joel, and yeah, you’re pretty sure you’ve been flirting every day for over a month. But you figure it’s convenient for him. Coffee and an ego boost all in one.
But if he’s going out of his way to come to The Zone? Well, maybe it’s not just for the coffee.
“Your coffee is good,” Jesse stresses, seeing the gears in your mind turning. It looks like he’s trying to hide a grin. You need to stop hiring young people who have keen eyes and big mouths.
“I think the ice needs a refill,” you say, snapping back into focus.
“He might be here for something else, too -”
“Go refill the ice.”
He throws up his hands with a smirk. “I’m going!”
__
7:24 am. You’re on your own again and you’re fucked.
The espresso machine is working perfectly and the early rush has ended. The weather is beyond shitty. Rain falls in sheets and the sky is so dark it feels like the sun didn’t bother to rise. It pounds on the roof and blows in the window every time you open it. The awning does nothing to shield customers as they shout their orders over the wind at you. Your fingers are going numb and your front is damp enough to set your teeth chattering.
Joel’s truck pulls up and – well. You’re fucked. And he’s why.
You’re fucked because you can’t stop thinking about him. You can’t stop thinking about what Jesse said. What Joel said. Sweetheart.
A harmless crush turned into something more intense, something heavy in your stomach. You want him earnestly, fully, with every piece of you.
And you still barely know him. But you want to.
Maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s the fact that you’re damp and cold and frustrated with your own heart and brain. But you see his truck and you decide to do something about this stupid crush.
You write your phone number on a cup with steady hands and set it aside for Joel. You scrawl on it as neatly as you can: Want to get a drink somewhere else sometime?
It’s a bit of a coward’s way out. You should just ask him, say how you feel to his face. He’d probably like that better, anyway. But, well, this just feels safer. He could ignore it, he could throw it out, he could see it and decide to never come back.
Sweetheart.
Somehow you don’t think he’ll do any of those.
The rain lashes against the window so hard you don’t open it until you see the lonely figure approach. The morning rush has been a morning trickle, a few brave souls venturing out for something from you.
Joel, it seems, is one.
You open the window and are greeted with a spray of mist.
“Gimme a sec,” you tell him. It’s so windy he leans in close to hear you. He’s wearing a jacket that’s ill-suited for the rain, his hair plastered to his forehead. Your fingers twitch with the need to brush it back.
You quickly fill the cup you’ve set aside and pass it to him with two hands so it doesn’t blow over.
“Brave of you,” you say. He’s in the rain and you’re both getting soaked but you want to talk to him desperately. It’s a buzzing need at the front of your brain. “Thought the weather would get you, too.”
“Told you,” he all but yells over the wind with a flash of white teeth. “Shitty coffee at home.”
“Drive safe, Joel,” you tell him. He nods at you and jogs back to the truck, cup in hand. You won’t be able to see if he reads it from here, but you hope so. All you have to do is wait.
And wait.
And wait.
The rain stops.
You’re still waiting, phone silent.
Sunshine peeks through the clouds with a slightly surreal post-storm glow. A few more folks have made their way to The Zone but today has been slow. The clock ticks slowly towards 3 pm and your phone does not ring.
“Don’t be stupid,” you mutter. “He’s working.”
You step out of the shack and into the slightly humid air, the gravel under your feet shifting wetly. The tables you’d set out this morning are, mercifully, still there, though they’re spattered with rain. You might as well close up now.
You’re bent over the last of the chairs, wiping them down with an old rag. You’re focused, so much so that you don’t pay much attention to the hum of an engine and the crunch of tires behind you.
A door slams but you don’t turn around.
“Sorry,” you call over your shoulder. “We just closed.”
“Shame,” he says.
You whip around and find Joel, hands in his pockets. He’s in a different shirt than this morning and his jeans don’t look soaked. You’re still damp, water stains on your pants and shirt.
“Oh,” you breathe. “Hi, Joel.”
He smirks. “Don’t think I’ve ever seen you outside of that window,” he says, before jutting his chin towards the tables. “Can I help?”
You’re very aware of your whole body all at once. He’s looking at you, drinking you in like you’re his morning cup of coffee.
“Uh, sure,” you say. You want to ask why he’s here but the words won’t come. “They go in there, in the little closet on the right.” You point to the open door to the shack.
He dips his chin low just once and then crosses the distance between you in three big strides. He grabs the chair closest to you. The t-shirt he’s wearing shows his arms and you feel what he’s just said – it’s weird to be in the same space like this. You’re outside but he feels so big.
Joel’s arms flex and you swallow, following him with another chair. He stacks his in the right place and holds a hand out for yours.
“What did you write on it?” he asks, casually.
The words don’t totally register. “What?”
He doesn’t answer. His arms are crossed, brow furrowed. Your mouth goes dry.
“On my cup. This mornin’.” He keeps his gaze on yours and for some reason, you can’t look away.
“Oh – you, you didn’t see?”
He shakes his head. “Was rainin’, remember? Got smudged before I got in my truck.”
“Right.”
You tear yourself away and leave him standing there. Maybe you should just lie.
But then you think about the way his eyes crinkle at the corners when you make him laugh, and how he asks you how you are and how he brought his daughter here and how he tips and how he drives all this way for your – for you.
Joel waits, his footsteps the only indication he’s followed you.
You turn around.
“I wrote my phone number,” you say. “And I asked you on a date.”
The corner of his mouth pulls up and you think he’s…blushing?
He rubs a hand over his beard and you hope he’s hiding a smile. Your heart is in your throat, beating so loud you worry that he can hear it. All of your bravado sinks into the damp ground at your feet. Maybe you’ve read this totally wrong. Maybe he’s just a nice guy, maybe your coffee is just really good and your employees are fucking with you. He’s here to let you down easy, to tell you he’s not even available, not interested, not –
“Alright,” Joel says. He walks towards you and tugs his phone from his back pocket. “I’ll take that number.”
Oh.
He hands it over and you type it in, heart jackhammering in your chest. But you watch his face, see the quirk of his mouth and his blush and it makes you brave.
“And the date?” you ask, giving it back. Your fingers brush and your heart keeps pounding but your nerves take a sharp turn away from doubt and towards excitement.
“Well, you gonna ask again?”
You both seem to have found your footing with whatever this is. The flirt in him is back full force, and he’s looking at you in that way of his. You want to know all of his expressions. There is so much to learn.
“Are you going to say yes?”
“S’why I came back,” he admits. “Figured you’d be closin’. Hoped you’d be free.”
“So you could read the cup?”
Joel takes the other two chairs and heads for the door again. You trail him. God, his arms are distracting.
“Most of it,” he says. “Couldn’t make out the last few numbers, though.”
“Well, once we’re done here, I’m free. If you wanted to go on a date with me.”
Joel turns and you’re in the small space at the same time, your chests almost pressed together. You must smell like sweat and stale coffee but you watch as Joel inhales, eyes on yours.
“I do,” he says.
It would be so easy to kiss him, a quick, chaste press of your lips to see what he tastes like.
His pupils dilate and you sway into him for a breath before you realize what you’re doing and step back outside.
You take a deep breath of fresh air. “Great.”
He rubs the back of his neck with one hand and you head for the tables.
“Y’know,” he says. “Ellie’s been on my ass about this.”
You laugh, high and bright. “Has she?”
“That girl ain’t capable of missin’ an opportunity to stick her nose in,” he grumbles, but it’s affectionate.
“Well, I think she’s smart,” you goad.
“Yeah,” he agrees. “Reckon she is.”
Joel’s brows furrow and he takes a few quick steps into your space, so close the tips of your shoes almost touch.
“Oh,” you breathe. “Hi.”
“Hold still,” he says. He reaches for your face slowly, slow enough that you could pull away but you don’t. He brushes something from your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
“Grounds.” His voice is a little hoarse.
“Thanks,” you breathe.
He smirks but the flush creeping up his neck tells you he’s not wholly unaffected. It makes you feel…it just makes you feel.
Joel Miller likes you.
“Well, don’t just stand there,” you say.
His eyes widen slightly and he leans in just a little but you slide out of his space with a grin.
“The sooner we finish up the sooner I can buy you a drink.”
Joel laughs, loud and full. “Oh, how generous of you.”
“You’re very lucky,” you say.
“I agree,” he drawls. He taps your chin with one knuckle.
His eyes sparkle and he smiles, looking luminous in the post-storm sunshine. You see a flash of a future – watching him drink coffee in a kitchen instead of through the window of The Zone. Your hands meeting over a shared table, fingers tangling, that smile directed at you in the morning light.
Giddiness rises in your throat and spills out of you in a delighted laugh of your own. Joel just grins.
“So,” he says. “Where’re you takin’ me?”

Back To You - Part 9 | Sam Carpenter
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sam Carpenter x reader
Warnings: none
Summary: When Sam left after turning eighteen, you were devastated. You’d been in love with her since you were kids and her leaving meant you never got to tell her how you truly felt.
Fast forward a couple of years, Tara gets attacked and Sam returns. . .
Previous Part | Next Part | Masterlist

“You didn’t!” Tara laughs happily and continues unwrapping the gift I got her which is a vintage video camera.
I figured she’d like it because she wants to be a film major and judging by her reaction, she does.
She woke me a couple of minutes ago by literally sitting on me, wishing me a Merry Christmas before shoving a present for me in my face.
I haven’t opened it yet because I wanted to see her reaction to my present first, and also because I want Sam to be there when I open it because it’s from both of them.
Tara finishes unwrapping and takes the camera out of its box, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “This is so cool.”
She inspects it from all angles and turns it on while I watch, happy that she likes it.
“You guys started without me?”
Sam’s voice makes me look over my shoulder and when I see her standing in the doorway of her room with a pout and sleep mussed hair, I smile and get up, stretching.
“Tara did, but don’t worry. You haven’t missed much so far.”
Sam huffs, but I can tell she’s not really annoyed. She makes her way over to us and plops down on the couch, running her fingers through her tangled hair in an attempt to tame it a little.
It looks like she’s still half asleep and I can’t help but think how adorable she looks like this, wearing faded gray sweatpants and an oversized black shirt.
The memory of her putting a blanket over me last night is still fresh in my mind, and I make a mental note to finally talk to her once we’re alone.
Tara fumbles around with the camera and moves to her sister’s side to show her what I got her. Sam seems impressed and she asks Tara to try and film something and while the two of them are busy figuring out how the camera works I pull off my hoodie.
I’ve been hot since I woke up, but I haven’t had a chance to take it off until now.
“Damn, Y/N,” Tara comments.
I raise an eyebrow as I pull my shirt, which rode up, back down over my stomach. “Huh?”
The camera momentarily forgotten in her hands, Tara wiggles her eyebrows suggestively while gesturing at me. “Someone’s been working out.”
My eyes widen in surprise before embarrassment washes over me.
It’s true, I’ve been working out like crazy since getting back on my feet, and I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been now that playing hockey is my literal job, but I usually don’t like to show it off and I really didn’t mean to expose myself like that just now.
“I mean, do they feed you steroids in Boston, or what?” Tara teases with a smirk.
“No they don’t, shut up,” I fire back weakly, tossing the hoodie at her face.
She catches it in time before it hits her and puts it down next to her, her smirk still present. “I’m just sayin’.”
I roll my eyes and scratch the back of my neck, hoping my cheeks aren’t all too red. “Yeah, whatever. Thanks.”
Tara chuckles and I go to take a seat on the couch next to her when I notice the way Sam’s uncharacteristically quiet.
I glance at her, worried that something might be wrong, but what I see makes my heart swoop in my chest instead.
Her eyes are trained on her fumbling hands in her lap, the tips of her ears are red, and she keeps swallowing thickly. In short, she’s flustered and the fact that it’s because my shirt rode up makes my heart beat faster and makes me feel like it wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
Not wanting to embarrass her though, I don’t comment on it and take a seat, gesturing for Tara to hand me the other gift on top of my bag.
“This one’s for you,” I say to Sam once Tara has given it to me and the way Sam’s brown eyes widen in surprise makes me chuckle softly. “What? You thought I wouldn’t get you anything?”
“N-No, I just— That’s not,” she stammers, clearing her throat and looking down for a moment before looking back up with a small smile. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” I hand it to her and try not to let it show that a shiver runs up my spine when her finger brush against mine.
Tara puts her camera down and together we watch Sam unwrap the flat, palm-sized box. She shoots me a questioning look, realizing it’s a black jewlery box, but I don’t say anything. I just smile and encourage her to open it with a wave of my hand.
Tara looks at me with a knowing smile and I smile back, loving the way Sam gasps in disbelief when her eyes land on the gold necklace on display inside the box.
“Do you like it?” I ask and the way Sam’s eyes shine when she looks up is answer enough.
Even so, she nods vigorously, her eyes darting back and forth between me and the necklace. “I love it, b-but how did you—?”
I shrug, feigning ignorance, and Tara does her best to hide her smile by busying herself with her camera again. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I say. “I just saw this and thought you’d like it.”
Sam chuckles incredulously and a, “Liar” slips past her lips, but she doesn’t ask how I knew about it again. Instead she looks back at the necklace, her finger brushing over the sun symbol engraved in the round pendant before taking it out and turning to me with a vulnerable expression. “Put it on me?”
I nod timidly, suddenly feeling shy and doing my best to ignore the questioning look Tara shoots at me before taking the necklace from Sam.
She shifts on the couch so her back is turned to me, and gathers her hair in a ponytail, exposing her neck to me.
I force myself to breathe normally at the sight, wanting nothing more than to press a kiss to it, and put the necklace around her neck.
“Thank you.” Sam lets go of her hair again and turns back around, touching the pendant for a moment before hugging me.
I hug her back and this time I don’t stop myself from pressing a chaste kiss to her temple. It makes her tighten her arms around my neck before pulling back.
“Okay, now it’s your turn,” Tara says, grabbing my present and throwing it in my lap.
I chuckle and shoot Sam one last smile, getting to work on unwrapping my own present.
It’s turns out to be a jewelry box as well, but it’s smaller than Sam’s and when I open it and see what’s inside, I immediately feel tears prick my eyes.
It’s a gold bracelet with my parents’ initials engraved in it in their handwriting.
I swallow thickly and look up to find Sam and Tara watching me hopefully.
“Guys. . . This is—“ I clear my throat and blink my tears away, “—This is beautiful. Thank you.”
The two sisters exhale, relieved, and Tara is quick to climb over Sam to put the bracelet on my wrist.
“There. . . Now you’ll always have a part of your parents with you,” she says, adding, “It was Sam’s idea.”
I rub my eyes to get rid of any more tears and kiss the top of her head before looking at Sam over her shoulder. “Thank you. Really. It means a lot to me.”
I love it. I absolutely love it, but the fact that it was Sam’s idea makes it extra special.
The two of them really are my family, and I just know that if my parents could see us now they’d be glad that we all found our way back to each other.
“So, how are Liam and Paige?” Tara asks over breakfast.
After we exchanged a few more presents we all got ready for the day and made breakfast together. Sam did most of the cooking since she decided we were having pancakes, but Tara and I l cut some fruits, made coffee, and set the table.
“Good.” I say after swallowing the sip of coffee I just took. “Liam just moved to New York and Paige moved to Portland, but they’re both here for the holidays to visit their parents.”
“Paige moved to Portland?” Tara asks with a raised eyebrow. “Why not New York, like Liam?”
Sam hums in agreement and I take another bite of my pancakes before answering, “Because her girlfriend lives in Portland. They’ve been doing long distance for over two years and they were sick of never seeing each other, so they decided to move in together.”
“Hmm, alright. Makes sense,” Tara says, ready to move on, but Sam snorts and stabs a piece of strawberry with her fork, saying, “Yeah, good for them. . . I’d never do long distance.”
I freeze, but no one notices and Sam goes on, unfazed. “I mean, only being able to see each other five or six times a year, maybe even less? Yeah, no thank you.”
Tara shrugs, obviously not caring, but I stay still, feeling like the rug’s just been pulled out from under me.
I live in Boston and Sam lives here. . . Even if she had feelings for me, she’d never want to be in a relationship with me. She just made that perfectly clear.
The realization feels like a punch to my stomach and I no longer feel like eating, completely drowning out Tara’s voice when she changes the subject.
Sam will never be with me, so it doesn’t matter how she feels about me. It doesn’t matter how I feel about her.
I set down my fork and get up, feeling like I’m in a trance.
Tara and Sam stop talking at the abruptness of my movement, their eyebrows furrowing, and before they can ask what I’m doing I mumble, “I’m going to take a shower, I’m a little cold.“
I’m neither cold, nor do I need a shower, but I need a moment to control my emotions and hide how much what Sam just said hurt me, so I go to my bag to grab a fresh set of clothes.
“Y/N. . .?” Tara asks hesitantly, but I don’t answer. I just go to the bathroom, lock the door behind me and get into the shower.
Sam doesn’t owe me anything. I know that, but what she said hurt and made me realize that the hope I had of ever being with her was futile.
All along, it was futile. We’ll never be together and she’ll never see me the way I see her.
Maybe I should try to move on. . .
A tear rolls down my cheek and I don’t bother wiping it away because the stream of the shower washes it away a moment later.
When I get out of the bathroom, the apartment is quiet and at first I think no one’s home, but then I sport Tara on the couch, figuring out how to work her new camera.
Sam is nowhere to be seen, but the table has been cleared and the dishwasher is running so she can’t be far.
“Hey, Sprout,” I say quietly, taking a seat next to her. “You good?”
Tara looks up and the way her eyes soften at the sight of me makes me wonder if my inner turmoil is really that obvious.
“Sam went out to get some snacks for when Mindy and Chad come over,” she says which makes me frown.
“I. . . didn’t ask,” I say tentatively, not wanting to offend her.
Tara just sighs and puts the camera down, turning to me with her lips pulled into a frown. “No, you didn’t, but I know you.”
That makes me smile nervously. “What are you talking about?”
Tara’s shoulders sag and she wordlessly moves to my side, resting her head on my shoulder and hugging my arm to her chest. “I know you like Sam, Y/N. I’ve known since the day she left. You weren’t just sad because your best friend left. . . You were heartbroken.”
I swallow thickly. I’ve always made it a point not to lie to Tara, so I’m not going to start now by denying anything. I don’t know what to say though, so I stay silent and sink back into the couch, letting my cheek rest against the top of her head.
“I know what she said about the whole long distance thing really bummed you out, but I don’t think she even realizes what it meant to you when she said it,” Tara whispers. “She can be a little. . . insensitive sometimes, but. . . I see the way she looks at you, Y/N, and all I can ask of you is that you don’t give up on her just yet.”
I sigh and nudge Tara’s knee with my own. “Easier said than done, Sprout.”
Tara sighs as well and squeezes my arm. “I know.”
Silence settles over us for a couple of moments until I remember something I’ve been meaning to tell Tara for a while now.
“Tara?”
“Yeah?”
“While we’re being honest I just want to say I’m sorry for how things turned out with you and Amber. I know you liked her.”
Like me, she doesn’t deny anything. She just holds my arm tighter and plays with the fabric of my sleeve.

Very short chapter, but it was necessary before we dive into the plot of the sixth movie next chapter.
Hope you all enjoyed it!
Next chapter is definitely going to be longer, I promise, but it’s going to take some time to write.

hi! can you do something with aaron and like a younger next-door neighbour and they're kinda secretly and newly dating and something with Jack goes wrong and reader helps fix it so aaron is just so in love and asks if he can tell jack and it's just super fluffy and cute!
Anyway, thank you so much, i love your writing!!!!
i love this idea so much!

telling him- a.hotchner

Tumblr media
--------------------------------
a/n: i got nothin.
summary: jack can't go to school, so you swoop in and become aaron's hero, he asks two pretty important questions.
pairing: aaron hotchner x reader
warnings: none
--------------------------------
Aaron didn’t know what to do with himself. He’d left the BAU. Jack was 11. He had a pre-teen who he’d just moved across the country and changed his entire life.
What the fuck were they doing in San Francisco?
Aaron was a lecturer now, on law in Stanford. Jack attended a new school, much to his dismay.
And then there was you. The gorgeous woman who lived next door to them. You were a lecturer as well, nuclear physics but you were often mistaken for a student, considering you were only 25. You’d been very kind to him since he started work there, and even had had them over for dinner a couple of times.
--------------------------------
“I don’t wanna go!” Jack exclaimed, arms crossed.
“Jack, I have work in 45 minutes, my students are taking the bar exam, and you know your babysitter is out of town, you have to go to school,” he sighed, feeling helpless. Doing this alone had been the hardest part. He had to leave the family he had, the entire team, and his life behind.
“But they’re mean!” he sobbed into his dad’s chest. “They make fun of me for not having a mom…”
Aaron’s heart broke. He didn’t want to send his kid into school if he was being bullied, and he made a mental note to speak to his teachers.
“Hey guys,” your kind voice filled the house from downstairs. Aaron had given you a key just a few weeks ago. “Ready to go?”
Aaron looked at the time on his watch, it was exactly when you all carpooled to school, then work.
“Up here!” Jack shouted down to you as he cried into his dad’s shoulder, ruining his suit. Aaron could hear your footsteps up the stairs and he braced himself for any judgy looks.
Judgy looks which never came.
“Poor Jack,” you sighed, rubbing his head. “What’s going on?”
“The kids at school laugh at me because I don't have a mommy anymore,” he cried, getting up and giving you a hug. You sent Aaron an empathetic look and hugged Jack back.
“That is awful Jack, how about this. You come to work with me and your dad, my lectures don’t start ‘till later so you can hang out with me and I know someone who works at your school, so if you tell me your teacher’s name I can get the lesson plan for today and we can work through it in my office, does that sound good?”
Jack nodded his head furiously and hugged you harder, his tears subsiding.
Aaron’s heart could’ve exploded. You were so kind. You two had only been on a few dates in recent weeks, you hadn’t told Jack yet, but you were so caring.
He mouthed a ‘thank you’ in your direction and you shrugged. ‘It’s the least I can do’.
Aaron ran into his room, pulling on a new suit jacket to replace the one soiled by Jack’s tears, grabbed his briefcase, and followed you out to the car. You’d called your friend at his school and gotten the information so Jack had his school books in his bag. You drove them to the Stanford campus, explained to your supervisor who told you it was alright, and departed for the day, Jack’s hand in yours. Aaron walked over to his building, and you stayed in yours, sending him updates throughout the day. You made the majority of your lectures for the day either study lectures, or just cancelled lectures so you could keep a close eye on Jack. You even allowed three of your most responsible students to teach Jack some maths.
At the end of the day, Jack fell asleep on the couch in your office while you were busy cleaning up your lecture hall.
“Hi honey,” Aaron smiled from the door.
“Hi love,” you smiled back. “How was your day? Did anyone faint in the exam hall?”
He crossed over to you in three quick strides and pulled you into his arms, kissing you deeply. You were so kind, you’d taken care of Jack all day for him, you’d made him feel less alone in the most isolating time of his life, and you were his. Well, maybe, he hadn’t exactly asked yet. “No one fainted, but a few did vomit before coming in.”
“Poor them,” you sighed. “Jack was fine all day, no issues.”
“Have I told you how wonderful you are?” He smiled and you chuckled.
“A few times, sure,” you teased. “But I don’t mind hearing it again.”
Aaron smiled and moved one of his hands to cup your cheek. “You’re wonderful.”
You smiled back at him, pecking his cheek. “Well, good thing we have a date on Friday.”
“I want to tell Jack,” He admitted. “About us.”
You nodded. “You’re sure? It’s only been a couple of weeks.”
“I’m sure. He loves you anyways, what’s the worst that can happen?” He asked, pressing kisses to your neck as he spoke.
“Umm- He could hate both of us because he feels like we’re replacing your and Haley’s relationship, he could start to resent you if we break up, he could hate me, the list goes on-”
“Don’t let it,” he smiled. “I have spent my whole life making calculated and deliberate decisions, even if I knew those choices wouldn’t make me happy. I want to be happy now, with you and Jack,” he admitted. In recent months you’d taught him the value of being slightly selfish, despite his altruistic tendencies.
“Alright, whatever you say love,” you smiled and kissed him again, then went back to your desk to gather your things.
“I also want to ask you something,” he stated and when you turned around you saw a bouquet of your favourite flowers in his hands. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
You chuckled softly and smiled, the sweetness of the moment warming your heart. “Yes, Aaron, I will be your girlfriend.”
He grinned when you accepted and his hands wrapped around your waist as he pressed your lips against his  in celebration.
He was happy, truly happy. For the first time in a long time.
And it was all thanks to you.

can u write bbangsaz x fem reader bsdm non-con with like mommy kink? thank uu
-💋
these newjeans ones always be so kinky bro like not my babies! 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content - idol!bbangsaz x 6th member!reader (idol!au), not a lot of build-up or exposition/story, smut (threesome, non-con, blackmail, shower sex, cunnilingus, fingering, edging, bdsm themes, mommy kink, degradation, corruption kink, anal fingering)
wc - 2173
a/n - why is it so hard to find bbangsaz pics lmao, anyway I've been obsessed w this for days, minji and hanni are so fucking fine in this (unrelated to fic content but I needed to share :D)
hanni and minji were really good at acting like they liked you.
you were the last addition to newjeans after them already being 5 for a few months was decided. those two were deadset on them being complete at five members, but when ador told the girls that you would be added as a last minute addition, the two oldest girls were livid. dani, haerin, and hyein didn't mind, if anything they were excited to have another unnie. but bbangsaz felt threatened by your presence.
hanni was already the best vocalist and minji was a good contender for center, but both of those titles were swooped from their hands when you joined. not only had they assigned you as main vocalist, but also center. you were ruining everything the two oldest members had built in the amount of time they were five, and they had to stop you from getting too much power.
you three had left and went home after practice ended, the three younger members staying to get some extra practice in. you headed straight towards the shower and ran the warm water, getting in and letting it cascade down your bare body, relaxing under the warmth. suddenly, you hear the shower curtain slide open, feeling a strong grip around your wrists pinning you to the wall. your eyes shoot open to see a half naked minji towering over you, a half naked hanni outside the shower, holding up the camera you guys used for vlogs, arms crossed and a mischievous grin on her face.
"wh-what the fuck are you doing?!" you ask confused, raising your voice and trying to break free of minji's grip.
"putting you in your place princess! because that's what you are right, ador's princess?" hanni taunts behind the girl in front of you.
"what are you talking about?!" you continue to try and break free, turning red as you realize that you're literally wet and exposed to the two girls.
"stop being such a brat and quit fucking squirming my god, it's annoying," minji growls, digging her nails into your wrists, making you wince in pain.
"you took everything we worked so hard to get, I think it's only fair you give us something in return," hanni's voice echoes through the bathroom.
you panic and your heart beat starts to quicken with anxiety, "please! don't do this! stop, let me go!"
"shut the fuck up and just be the whore we know you are y/n. let us do what we want or else we'll make sure that video ruins your life," minji says lowly into your ear, her tone and breath making you shiver with fear.
"you heard her y/n-ie, just be our little slut and you'll be justtt fineeee," hanni says in a mocking tone, setting up the camera on the bathroom counter, entering the shower with you and minji.
your eyes start to water with tears as minji holds your hands behind your back and sucks at your neck, hanni's hands groping your tits and rubbing her thumbs roughly against your nipples.
"please stop!" you cry, sobs slowly starting to leave your throat.
hanni shuts you up by forcefully making out with you, shoving her tongue down your throat and whimpering in your mouth. you squirm in minji's hold and try to move away from the two girls forcing you into submission, but much to no avail as their touches and mouths just become more and more greedy with every kick of your legs and flail of your body. the tears that fall from your eyes join with the warm water hitting your cheeks as hanni pinches your nipples, making you scream on her tongue.
she pulls away and you sob hard, "please! let me go! what do you want, I'll do it!"
the two girls start to laugh on both sides of you, minji's laugh on your skin creating vibrations. she sighs, "you stupid little girl, can't you see we're already doing what we want and you're helping us. if you want to help even more, stop fucking resisting."
you close your eyes and hang your head in defeat, letting the tears escape and sobs leave your mouth. hanni continues to laugh in front of you, minji leaving hickeys wherever she wanted. you watch through clouded vision as the girl in front of you gets on her knees, parting your thighs and bringing her face close to your center.
"please..." you weakly sob out desperately once more, but it leaves in a whisper left ignored.
you feel a tongue flicking at your clit making you scream out and cry harder. joining hanni's tongue were minji's fingers, sliding between your entrance and teasing your hole.
she chuckles into your ear, "are you fucking wet?"
you shake your head, denying the accusation of the question. in truth, your body was betraying you, it was so sensitive to the girls' touches and advances so of course, the pleasure started building.
"no? why are you lying to me? you're obviously enjoying this if I could just slide right in..." minji slips two long fingers into your tight cunt.
hanni's mouth sucked so perfectly at your clit, tongue flicking against it inside of her mouth, minji's fingers found the delicious spot inside of you quick, curling her digits repeatedly against it at a pleasurable pace. you absolutely hated how good the girls felt fucking you as you sobbed with your head thrown back over minji's shoulder, biting your lip to suppress moans.
your body continued to betray you, feeling your hips grind down onto hanni's sloppy tongue and fucking yourself back against minji's skilled fingers.
the girl behind you whispers into your ear, "you like this don't you? your pussy just begging to get fingered and eaten out by us. bet you've been fucking yourself to the thought of this like the little horny bitch I know you are."
moans slip from your mouth and continue to fall out at her words, the feeling of her fingers now ramming into you and hanni's tongue spelling her name on your clit being so overwhelming. you feel the mouth on your pussy smile at your loss of control over your noises.
you begin panting and your moans get louder the closer to the edge they bring you. "wanna cum you little whore? want us to fuck you till you're begging for more?"
your eyes barely make out minji looking down at you. you don't respond, instead chasing for the release they built up inside of you. but of course, they take it away just as quickly, feeling the fingers deep inside slip out and the tongue swirling your throbbing clit slurp for the last time. you whine and whimper at the loss of contact and your thighs tremble, hanni holding your hips so you don't stumble and fall over.
you hear the sound of the water being turned off before they drag your drenched body into your room, manhandling you onto all fours. you're so dazed and confused, you barely process the lacey material tying your wrists together behind your back. your body jolts and you moan out as you feel a tongue thrust deep into your pussy, head collapsing against your mattress. someone pulls your head up by your hair and you open your eyes to see hanni sprawled out in front of you, legs wide open with her bare cunt.
"go on then, stop crying and put your tongue to good use," she says before forcing your face into her pussy, muffling your moans as minji eats you out from behind.
you go to work between her folds, sliding your tongue over her clit and burying your face between her legs, whining into her core as you feel the same movements being done between your own thighs. hanni moans melodically into the air at your tongue on her, giggling here and there at the reality of the situation, watching you intently eat her out like you wanted every bit of her cum down your throat.
she taunted above you, "thirsty there? and here I thought you didn't want this, turns out you just wanted to please us huh?"
you open your blurry eyes to look up at her, a sinister smirk on her lips, looking down at you with half-lidded eyes. she caresses your cheek as another tear fell down your face, your crying never having stopped, petting your head with her other hand.
"keep going y/n-ie, turns out singing isn't the only thing that mouth is good for."
she suddenly pushes your head down into her, forcing your face further into her heat, making you insert your tongue into her hole and suffocate with your nose against her clit. her moans rile you on and you flick your tongue against her walls, whimpering into her pussy while minji continues to pleasure you from behind. you feel her thumb rub against your clit with her tongue mimicking the same movements inside your cunt, slurping noises and moans filling your ears as you fuck yourself back against her mouth.
hanni ruts her hips against you, her breathing picking up and head thrown back with her mouth wide open and eyes closed. you quicken your pace of your tongue, licking against her g-spot and humming into her pussy, rubbing your nose against her clit. her grip on your hair tightens and she thrusts herself into your mouth one last time, cumming down your throat as her thighs tremble around your head. you hear her heavy pants as you slow your movements, hands caressing your head and face.
you're so close to cumming too with minji behind you, but she suddenly pulls away, making you scream in protest. hanni's gentleness disappears right away, pulling you up making you face her, your back against minji's chest.
"what? you thought you were just gonna get off so easily? there are things you have to work hard for, you know that surely."
you sob uncontrollably looking up at her weakly as you beg, "pl-please! I'm sorry! fuck, just let me cum! I've done everything you wanted! I know I've been such a bad girl, but mommy, I deserve it! please just let me cum! please please! I can't take it anymore, just fuck me..."
you ramble with tears flowing down your face. hanni's eyes are wide with amusement and minji chuckles behind you, the two of them exchanging a look. they've ruined you, bad.
hanni pushes you back roughly against minji's chest, using her front to pin you against her.
"oh y/n, you really are just our little plaything now, aren't you? I hope you know what you're so desperately begging for."
you feel her fingers slip into your pussy and pump fast, screaming out at the sudden pace. your eyes shoot open as you feel fingertips circle your asshole, collecting cum and saliva around the area before pushing in, making you let out a deafening cry. both of the paces of their fingers in you are merciless, pumping in and out of you like they're taking turns. hanni's fingers would push in when minji's fingers would come out, pushing in with a harsh thrust when the other's fingers would come out.
minji's teeth sank into your skin, leaving indent marks all over your body, hanni leaving hickeys anywhere your skin wasn't red.
"fuckkkk!!! oh my god, yes give it to me!!!" you're so fucked out, tears a constant stream down your face, eyes rolled back, drool seeping out of your mouth hanging wide open, head thrown back.
they never let up with the speed of their digits. the squelching lewd noises coming from the sheer cum leaking out of your aching hole is so loud, adding on to the girls' heavy breathing and your blood curdling cries. the pleasure burns, your holes taking so much forceful pumping, but it hurts so fucking good. your back arches, pushing your tits against hanni, to which she pinches your nipples with her free hand, adding onto the blinding delight coursing throughout your numb body.
you feel your stomach churn at the feeling of your orgasm coming in fast.
"please don't stop, I'm gonna fucking-!" you never finish your whiney sentence, cumming with a scream.
your pussy squirts juices all over everything, hanni's arm and thighs are covered, your sheets are soaked, minji's knees bathe in the drenched material of your blankets. you swear you blackout, body jerking with every aftershock of pleasure that rolls over you. you let your body fall, collapsing against hanni, her pulling away and letting you flop onto the bed.
you feel minji's fingers withdraw from you, hearing the digits slip out with a pop from your asshole. you feel them both get up from your bed, leaving your limp and lifeless body to recover by itself, not even bothering to untie you.
as your vision and consciousness fades, you hear the faint voice of one of them say, "that better teach you to stay in your place."

📁 “i don’t know if this is too soon but I think I have feelings for you,” + “sorry oh my god.” for chandler bing please 😁😁. Love your work!

a/n: thank you for the request.

from the moment you had entered the small central perk café, you were unaware of the eyes on you. chandler was taken aback, mid-punchline when he stared at you, trailing off.
“finally something’s distracted him…” monica murmurs into her coffee cup. ross nudged her after following chandler’s gaze, “… or rather, someone.”
all his friends were smiling at him knowingly, lucky joey wasn’t there to swoop in, chandler had thought. then his friend walked in, as if predicted, and chandler’s heart stopped when joey walked over towards you.
it was rare joey was turned down, and chandler wished he felt bad for his best friend when he walked off defeated and shrugging at his friends – but chandler was only relieved.
you finally looked at him, matching his awkward smile and rachel squeals and taps chandler’s knee, “go!”
chandler stands when you are handing your money to gunther while he gave you the hot drink. you almost bumped into chandler, turning around to leave and he lets out an ‘i’m so sorry!’ when you gasped and held your cup tightly.
“i know by stepping into a coffee shop you didn’t want two guys hitting on you, but…” he trailed off in that moment, good god what should he have said? you’re laughing softly at him, glancing at your hands, to his watching friends and back to him.
“what?” you had asked, prompting him to snap out his thoughts, “you’re just really pretty and- i really don’t know what i’m doing,” the way he talked and the tug on his tie beneath the sweater-vest was so adorably dorky and you laughed again.
you thanked him before continuing, “i’m y/n.” chandler’s eyes were light and soft when you offered your exchange and his teeth were shown in a smile when he replied through a chuckle, shoulders relaxing, “chandler.”
before he knew it, you were giving him your number and returning to his excited friends and an astonished, disbelieving joey. when he phoned you that night he was all grins, agreeing to meet you the following night for dinner.
he aspired to be a gentlemen, bringing you flowers to your door, opening doors for you, even paying for dinner even when you argued against it.
chandler felt like he was dreaming, your arm in his gently as you both walked in the brisk new york night, coats adorned under the streetlights. he didn’t want the night to end, wishing he could walk the world with your arm entwined with his just so you could stay together.
but all too soon, you were outside your door and your arm was no longer near when you both came to a stop. you stepped in front of him, cheeks warm in the cold air as chandler’s eyes scan your features delicately, still awkward as himself but much more comfortable than when you first met him.
you could tell he wanted to say something, his eyes full of meaning and lips parting to speak, only for him to not say anything. you fix the collar of his shirt as you wait patiently, not wanting to rush him or leave him and his heart beats rapidly beneath your fingertips and his shivering chest.
“i don’t know if this is too soon but i think i have feelings for you,” it rambled from his mouth before he knew it, you could tell by the way his eyes widen afterwards. you only smile, ready to reply until he interrupts,
“sorry, oh my god,” you laugh as he fumbles, placing your hands firmly on his chest, taking a step closer to him, “it’s okay.” chandler shakes his head, “no, god, i shouldn’t have said that. i just-“ he sighs, “i’ve never felt like this on a first date, i usually don’t get attached like this but i really like you and, i’ve done it again, i wouldn’t blame you if you walked away right now and never-”
you shut him up with a kiss, leaning up mid-sentence and he stops talking to hold your head and kiss you back desperately, shocked at the return as he fully expected you to leave him standing.
“i like you too, you idiot,” you murmur against his lips with a laugh, and he joins in before pulling your head closer, lips not wanting to pull back just yet. or ever for that matter.

i've been having a couple of downer days recently, and i kept looking for a verse i haven't read thrice yet for some comfort, but you're age! gap verse has been a pleasant escape even though its not what i was looking for. you're writing never fails to make me feel better ari 💕💕
Here's how they met 💜
Bruce sighed. He was starting to hate talk show appearances, but at least this one had never been too bad. Angelique was chatty and fun but not grating. Her show ran as school let out. So grannies watched after their naps and kids watched getting off the bus. She ran a little something for everyone.
He assumed he was here for the grannies.
"I'm so sorry I'm late the shoot ran over and I couldn't get away."
The voice caught his attention. Not the fake starlet over dramatic gushing, but genuine distress. And he half turned to look. You looked like you came from a shoot. Straight off the pages of a glossy magazine.
"No worries, Miss Y/L/N we got your call in enough time. We'll just touch up your face and you'll be good to go," the manager greeting you, said.
Bruce smiled a little. Clearly, you were a frequent guest. You thanked him profusely and trotted off. Not needing to be told where to go. And as you go, there's several crew members you can greet by name. You've either been here a lot or worked with them before. Or both. But, it's endearing.
He turned back around listening to Angelique get her updates on where production was. "-And Y/N is in hair and makeup as we speak."
"Oh, bless her heart," Angelique said. "That's what I get calling her last minute." She turned to Bruce and held out her hand, "Are you ready?" she asked.
"As I'll ever be," he chuckled taking her hand, "You know these sorts of things aren't my forte. My oldest on the other hand-"
"Don't you worry about a thing," Angelique reassured him, patting the hand she was holding before letting it go. "Y/N is an old pro- Ah! speak of the devil!" She swooped over and kissed you on either cheek. "You look absolutely divine, is that one of yours?"
"You know it is," you tell her laughing, returning the gesture. "As if I could walk in and NOT wear my own design, you'd never let me live it down."
"So true. Darling," she said grabbing your hand and pulling you over to Bruce, "I want you to meet Bruce. You'll be on stage together today. You know it's charity week and I though it would be great to highlight all the work you do for school arts programs along side the Wayne foundation," she said.
"Hello," you tell him, holding out your hand.
"Pleased to meet you," he said, taking the hand you offered warmly. Giving you his most charming smile. You did look good. And he could tell they hadn't done much to your face or your hair. "I'm a big fan of your work," he commented.
Your smile didn't falter but your eyes narrowed slightly. And Bruce cringed internally Shit. She thinks I mean the Playboy spread, he thought. "Your last movie, the drama, especially. The range of emotion and the depth- It really was incredible."
"Thank you," you tell him. "It was challenging but I really enjoyed it."
Bruce felt his face heat when Angelique coughed and he remembered hearing that you had the ability to make someone feel like they were the only person in the room. He'd forgotten for just a second. In just that brief moment that he was waiting for an appearance. "It showed I uh- my kids made fun of me when I cried at the end-"
"Aww, Angelique gushed, "This is amazing. you guys keep up this chemistry. It'll go totally viral." She bounced on the balls of her feet and kissed your cheek again, "I'll have someone bring you a coffee, sweetie. You're going to start wilting soon."
And before you could say anything or Bruce could offer to go and get it for you himself, Angelique had bustled off to find and assistant to give marching orders to.

YOU have been feeding my dc brainrot (specially the y/n's) and it's SO GOOOOOD I neeeed more
Tumblr media
(Also thinking about the angst potential of parent y/n being the alternative detective y/n where they save their partner and parent yn is unaware of how much pain detective!yn is in from the loss)
Thanks for listening to my yap session. My DC brainrot has been having me in a chokehold so I'll be writing for them so a while.
Parent y/n would basically comfort detective y/n cause parent y/n knows what it's like to lose someone so close to you. As detective y/n has a past of defeating villains in his old city and in the fic I'm doing after a poll I did. Y/n will get his revenge on the person who killed his lover. But if parent y/n did meet detective y/n and knowing detective y/n would try and kill the person who took his love away, parent y/n would try and talk him out of it and it would work a bit to only leave a hole in his heart knowing that person is out there.
Also detective y/n sometimes has to babysit Damian (Alfred asked him) and he gets Damian ice cream after Damian beat a purse snatcher and pickpocketer to a pulp once (the two of them found out the pickpocketer has stole a lot of other stuff too)
Also imagining ex villian y/n sometimes making small gadgets at the dinner table that now Bruce made a rule that y/n can't have gadgets at the table. They accidentally launched a small bolt once and it hit Jason in the forehead. Also I love jarro and like to think ex villain y/n does little shenanigans with jarro around the city. Sometimes y/n sneaks out and Bruce has to go get them before they get hurt or one of the villains swoops them up and maybe has to call superman to get y/n cause sometimes y/n likes to hide around a lot so Bruce may call martian man hunter to find them. But ends up that y/n has been inside some store trying to find some tools for their latest project.
And ex villain y/n has a movie play in the background as they take apart Tims Xbox to find what's wrong with it (they fixed it and combined it with the latest PlayStation so now it supports two different programs if needed and now they have to fix the bat computer in the bat cave.)
Parent y/n with Damian like:
Tumblr media
(that's my yap session for today. Hope you guys like it and if you want more or what to request your ideas for stories or y/n's, please don't be shy and request it! But for now please stay safe and drink water!)

Mizu x Apothecary fem reader gave me IDEAS, because now I'm thinking of Mizu and her traveling herbalist wife (complete with a large wooden carrier full of herbs) who gets along with Ringo, and separate (or not) idea: mizu's broad-shouldered archer wife who inherited a war bow, who assists in fights from afar 🥰
a/n: I can surely do that for you my friend <3 have both because I love you and you deserve it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          — mizu x fem!herbalist!reader
                 • you and mizu had met in the forests of japan, finding the samurai injured limping through the snow.
                 • let’s say your relationship wasn’t always the best. started off kinda rocky; she was always pissy with you because that is who she is.
                 • you tried your hardest to help her but she would barley let you. you settled for forking over the herbs and letting her patch herself up
                 • eventually she caved because she didn’t know what the fuck she was doing, and let you do it for her
                 • after that you asked where she was headed, to which you got the answer of tanabe island
                 • you were happened to be headed the same way. she begrudgingly agreed to let you go with her, and that’s when you met ringo! the “apprentice” she was desperately trying to get rid of
                  • you wondered why she was trying to be rid of him because he was such a sweetheart; but than you looked and her and you figured you knew why. she liked to work alone.
                  • that didn’t last long though because she got herself fucked up again and you needed to swoop in and help her
                  • for once, she didn’t protest. instead, she thanked you.
                  • that took you by surprise but you smiled and said she didn’t need to thank you. it was your job, after all
                  • this is about when you find out she’s actually a woman- you don’t really care, though, it doesn’t change your opinion on her or how attractive you thought the samurai was
                  • you decided to just let all your feelings out than, because you had gotten through this hard ass somehow and you didn’t know when that was going to happen again
                  • you confessed your feelings about her. and too your surprise, she reciprocated but of course begrudgingly because “tough guy”
                  • you were about to ask if you could kiss her. you had been waiting to. but before you could ask she cut you off and kissed you
                  • that’s where your relationship kicked off and you’ve been happily married for a few months now! you travel with her and patch her dumbass up when she gets herself recklessly injured because the fucker is so hell bent on revenge
                 • she loves you, though. and you know that. you know that with all your heart. she may not say it, all the time, but you know it from the way she relentlessly protects you. from the way she would throw herself in front of a sword for you, a gun, even.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          — mizu x fem!archer!reader
              — warning(s): nsfw mentions/swearing
               • you had been masking as a man as much as she had, actually, you were one of the archers that heiji shindo had collected to um well kill mizu and taigen (aw meet cute <3)
              • you couldn’t really bring yourself to do it, though, you had maneuvered down there and helped them get out.
              • this was met with anger from the two of them, and they almost killed you by tossing you off that cliff
              • yet when you revealed your true self, a woman who was only truly looking for safe keep, they hesitated
              • mizu felt sympathy for you, obviously, you and her and similar. taigen probably thought you were hot ngl- but the minute mizu saw you you were practically hers
              • they offered you travel, just until they got where they were going. you agreed happily, resuming your mask as a man
              • that was until mizu got you alone. you were staying at a bathhouse; and you had been soaking in one of the baths
              • you flipped around, covering your chest when you saw her there. you blushed to hell and back, asking defensively what in the hell she was doing there.
               • she replied calmly that she was only coming to do the same as you. relax and unwind from their day.
               • you nod. she strips down all her clothes, leaving her hair up. your eyes widen when you realize that you are one in the same.
                • suddenly you feel a lot more comfortable having her see you like this
                • it escalates from normal conversation to heated passion rather quickly. soon enough she’s on top of you, one hand covering your mouth and the other fucking you until you couldn’t walk
               • a while later and you two decide to get hitched <3 you’re her eyes in the sky, protecting her from the trees while she’s on the ground. you protect each other lethally, that devotion driving you for the rest of your life together; through her quest and life after.

Green Eyes of Envy Pt. 7
Tumblr media
Author’s Note: Hello my Schemmenti fanfic village! Here is part 7 to Green Eyes of Envy! A lot of this is based off my hometown and family dynamics. The hotel thing in the story is a dream of mine cause I did work at this really fancy resort and it has been a dream of mine to have a significant other surprise me with booking a room there, I’m having it happen to the reader and therefore speaking it into existence for myself! Haha! Again Mel’s just this soft puddle of mush when it comes to the reader and wants to take care of the reader as much as possible. I really love their dynamic and it makes my heart so happy writing it! Part 8 is already in the works! Hope y’all enjoy! Sending you all da hugs and positive vibes.
Warning: Very judgmental asshole mother and a very obnoxious amount of fluff!!
Synopsis: You fly to Michigan for thanksgiving break. The thing you don’t expect is to have a full out fight in the middle of a Culver’s with your extremely judgmental mother about you being with Mel. Will you act like everything’s fine and not tell the redhead? Will these lead to you guys breaking up? Or will Mel be your superwoman and swoop in and save the day? Mel definitely has a few surprises up her sleeve for you. Keep reading to find out what goes down in Michigan!

You get to the airport, your driver gets out and gets your bag for you and then you walk into the airport.
(Y/N): hey baby girl, made it to the airport safely and I’m texting ya like I was instructed to. Now focus on the kids and don’t worry about me. Xoxo
Mel: Glad you made it to the airport safely. Cause if ya didn’t I’d have to get one of my guys to have a word with the driver. Haha. I can focus on the kids and worry about you at the same time! I’m a very talented multitasker. You better still text me when you get through security, when you get on the plane, when you land and when you get home! I promise you aren’t gonna interrupt anything. I know you’re miss independent and that you’re fine but you texting me is to reassure me that you’re good. It’s comforting to me, and I know you love comforting me. You’re one of the most important things in my life now ya know, I gotta know that you’re okay. I miss you already. I love you so much princess.
(Y/N): I love you more my sweet girl. I miss you already too! Fine I’ll text you throughout the day cause I do love comforting you amore. One of the most important things huh? Damnn I must be doing something right! Haha. Have a great day at work gorgeous girl! I’ll text ya later. 😘
You get through security and the plane ride goes smoothly. You text Mel as she instructed, she sends you mushy texts full of how much she loves and misses you already and thank you for updating her. The redhead is truly shocked at how soft and sappy you’ve made her, if Mel before getting together with you would’ve seen the texts she was sending you, she would think who the hell stole my phone! She can’t help but chuckle to herself, it’s so funny how someone could walk into her life and change everything. But she’s so glad you changed everything for her.
You get off the plane and go to baggage claim to get your suitcase. Hands cover your eyes, you feel their arms.
“Becks!!!” You exclaim as you turn and see your sister and you pull her in for a hug.
“Hey big sis! I’ve missed you!!” Becks says as you two hug.
“I’ve missed you more hun!” You say as you pull back to look at her. “Look at you with your cute little outfit! Looking like a snack, breaking hearts and taking names!” You exclaim.
“You know how that’s the way the (Y/L/N)’s girls play!” Your sister exclaims.
“I don’t know girl, Melissa, man I think she’s the one.” You say and look at your sister to see her reaction.
“(Y/N)! Y’all have only been dating for three months!! Do you know how crazy that sounds?!”
She says in a shocked tone.
“Trust me I know. And everything inside me is like you’re being stupid, knock this shit off! But we’ve known each other and have been friends for two years prior to us getting together. Like if we didn’t have that going for us, I’d be like no we’re 100% just getting caught up in everything and I’d end things. But that’s not the situation here.” You explain as you grab your bag and start walking back to where Becks parked.
“Oh that’s right! I always forget that y’all have worked together this whole time. Okay so maybe slightly less crazy. Does she treat you right hun? Cause that’s the number one thing I care about and want for you.” She says looking at you with genuine care.
“Well you know what a stubborn little terror I can be about anyone helping and taking care of me. And she’s just so patient and talks me down where I feel safe enough to be like okay she’s doing this out of love and doesn’t think any less of me. And I don’t have to tell you how much that speaks volumes to her character but to the fact that she really does see me and understand me.” You say with a big smile as you think about how gentle the redhead has been with you in those difficult times.
“Dang (Y/N)! I never thought I’d hear you say that about someone! That’s a big fucking deal. No wonder you think she’s the one.” Becca says as you two get in the car.
“Yeah, she makes me pretty damn happy. I really do love her.” You say as you look at Becca again with a big smile.
“Well good sis! That makes me so happy to hear! I’m happy for you both.” Becca looks at you mirroring your big smile.
You get home, your parents and your brother Jake are so excited to see you. And you get settled and unpacked. You all go out for dinner at Culver’s because it’s one of the top things you miss about living in Michigan, especially the cheese curds!
“So (Y/N) how are things going with work?” Your dad asks.
“Good! I feel like I’ve settled in at Abbott and feel a lot more confident about teaching as well as coming up with class accommodations that fit well with the kiddos and IEP’s are a lot less daunting. And the teachers and staff I work with are all very passionate about creating a great educational experience for the students. Not to mention they’re all super nice.” You say.
“Some of them, a little too nice.” Your mom throws in.
“Look I know that y’all don’t agree with the relationship that I’m in currently. I can understand that me dating someone who is close to your and dad’s age could be uncomfortable for you.” You say.
“It’s not just uncomfortable, it’s downright inappropriate on that woman’s end.” Your mom says.
“Her name is Melissa. And you have to remember I’m a full grown ass woman, this isn’t some creepy ass thing where I’m 18 and she’s 50. It’s crazy to me how hard you’re judging not just her but her and I as a couple, when you don’t even know her and haven’t even listened when I try to tell you how well she treats me and makes me feel really loved and supported.” You say to your mom, forcing yourself not to cry.
“Okay let’s get some shakes!” Jake announces, so that the conversation will end.
You sit there not saying another word. You go home and you go straight to your room. You should’ve known your mom would be like this. You should’ve just canceled the trip, then you’d be with Mel feeling happy and loved instead of feeling judged and miserable.
As if she knew that you were thinking of her, your phone started to ring, the redhead was FaceTiming you. Okay you got to get it together and act like everything’s fine. You take a deep breath and accept the call.
“Oh my god I finally get to see your beautiful face! I’ve missed seeing it all day!” Mel exclaims.
You can’t help but chuckle. “I’ve missed seeing your face too gorgeous as well as seeing other things!” You say with a big smirk.
“Oh is that right?” Mel asks seductively. You nodd with a shy smile. “I knew you were only with me for my body!” She faux accuses you with a smirk.
“You caught me! Just wanted a nice trophy wife on my arm!” You tease.
“And now you’re not playing fair cause you know how it melts my heart when you call me your wife, even if it has trophy in front of it.” Mel says to you with a big smile.
“Mission accomplished then.” You say with a smile.
“You goof! How was your day princess?” Mel asked softly.
“How was work?” You ask trying to deflect.
“You know your deflection tactics don’t work on me miss! Talk to me baby. Please. Let me be there for you, and take care of my gorgeous girl, even if it’s virtually.” She says gently looking at you concerned.
“It’s my fucking mom. We’re having a pleasant dinner, my dad asked me how work was going. I answered and part of what I said, was the people are super nice. And my mom chimes in and says some of them, a little too nice. Which is like does she think that I’m stupid and won’t notice the indirect shots that she fired at you. Which I’m sorry I don’t care if it’s my mother or the pope himself, I will not let anyone talk badly about you in front of me, I’m shutting that shit down so fast! So I decide to be the bigger person and be like I understand why you feel uncomfortable about the situation, trying to empathize with them so that possibly I could get them to listen to me. And then she cuts me off and says you choosing to be with me is inappropriate because I guess in her head she thinks because you’re older, you should know better. I honestly don’t even know what she meant by that! And then I was like it’s literally so crazy that y’all are judging her when you don’t even know her and you won’t listen to me talk about you or us as a couple and how well you treat me and how supported and loved you make me feel. And now I’m in my room feeling so stupid for even coming and thinking my mom could even remotely be supportive or at least non-judgmental about us.” You say equally sounding upset and frustrated.
You watch Melissa close her eyes and take a deep breath, you know that she’s trying to not be upset about what you just said.
“And now I just upset you and you were so happy when you fucking called. Fuck, I literally just suck! You know what you don’t deserve this, like you deserve someone who’s mom isn’t a judgemental controlling freak. I’m already a lot as is it and then, add this to it and it’s just a dumpster fire. I should let you go find someone who is so much easier than me.” You say quietly and look up and blink trying to stop the tears from falling.
“Baby please look at me.” She says gently. You take a deep breath and then look into those gorgeous green eyes of hers. “Good girl. Now first things first, you (Y/N) (Y/L/N) are the love of my life, and if I deserve better then I don’t want it, because you give me all I could ever want and need and so much more. Do you believe me when I say that?” She asks concerned. You nod and then wipe your eyes. “I need to hear you say it angel.” She says softly.
“I believe you when you say that I’m the love of your life.” You say quietly.
“Good girl. Now I will not let things out of our control be the reason why we break up. It’s clear your mom has made up your mind about me and us. All we can do is act like we’ve been acting this whole time we’ve been together, by loving and supporting each other unconditionally. And we’re gonna hope that she will someday see how happy we make each other and to see that the only thing I want and work everyday to do is to love and take care of you like the queen you are. What do you think about that?” Mel asks looking at you.
“I know you’re right. And I know we gotta stay positive that she’ll come around. But I just feel like I’m being a burden to you.” You say quietly.
“Baby you never have been and never will be a burden to me. Everyone has hard shit, lord knows I have mine. You have to hear me when I say that you aren’t any less deserving of love because of that. And you’re ahead of the game compared to a lot of people because you have a woman who wants to love you for the rest of our lives together if you’ll let me.” She says as she looks at you with such love.
“This better not be you proposing to me.” You tease her and then laugh a little.
“Oh trust me there will be no question in your mind, when I propose to you, pretty girl.” She quips back with a smirk.
“I have no doubt amore mio.” You say with a big smile.
“There’s that gorgeous smile, I know and love. We are going to be just fine baby girl, I promise. Do you at least feel a little better amore?” She asks.
“Yeah I feel better now that I talked it out with you angel.” You say with a smile.
“Good! Now you’re not allowed to say the phrase “let you go” to me ever again. Cause you my love are stuck with me for the next 40+ years, so you better get used to it! And I need you to know that hearing that shit come out of your mouth was terrifying and hurtful to me. But I know that wasn’t your intention. (Y/N), I can’t picture my life without you, and if I get my way, I’ll get you for the rest of my life. You know how I do my death grips in the morning when our alarm goes off and I won’t let you go. You better believe I’m doing that metaphorically with our relationship.” She says with a smile.
“I’m sorry that I scared and hurt you baby, I was just so upset. I will never bring up ending our relationship again just because we’re going through something hard. Also you’re a dork!” You giggle. “But I will say I love when you death grip me in the mornings and I love that you’re metaphorically death gripping us together.” You say looking adoringly at her.
“I forgive you gorgeous girl. And you love that I’m a dork!” She quips at you.
“I really do!” You agree with her.
“So now we have to come up with a game plan tomorrow for you. Cause I will not have you be upset on thanksgiving! It’s just not happening! Is there somewhere away from your mom that you and your siblings could hangout at? Also you can have a few drinks throughout the day, that’ll definitely make your mom at least minimally tolerable. But you gotta have gatorades in between drinks, pretty girl. I’ll bug you about it tomorrow and remind you to do that. Aren’t the white ones your favorite?” She asks.
“We could hang out in the basement, she’s in the kitchen the whole day so it’s definitely a safe bet that she won’t come down there. I was planning on drinking. And the whole Gatorade comment cause you know I forget to hydrate when I’m drinking is very cute of you but also stop knowing me so well!” You tease her. “And look at you remembering my favorite flavor!” You exclaim.
“Good then it’s settled youse guys will just hang out in the basement. I will never stop! Besides that’s what makes me such a good girlfriend. You really should think about giving me that promotion to fiancé!” She says with a big smirk.
“I will keep that in mind.” You say smirking back.
You get a text, your DoorDash order is on it’s way. You mouth drops open and you look at the redhead in shock.
“Mel…did you just DoorDash something for me? Hold up… did you just DoorDash that white Gatorade to me?!” You exclaim.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” She says all coy
“Oh my god you so did! Babyyyy, you didn’t have to do that!! How is it possible you're over 500 miles away and you’re still taking care of me?” You ask as you tear up again. (Happy tears)
“Because I love you so incredibly much. And nothing will stop me from taking care of you amore. I got you, and I will always have you. If it’s something that I can control, it will be handled. I know you didn’t say it but you need to be reminded, you deserve to be treated with this level of care. And I will spend the rest of our lives together giving you the highest level of care princess.” She says softly and you can see the tears welling up in her eyes.
You look at her and think to yourself how lucky you are to be loved by Melissa. “I love you so much baby girl. And I hope I can give you everything that you give to me.” You say smiling at her.
You get a notification that the DoorDash driver is at your place and you go get the Gatorade from the driver and then put it in the fridge and then go back to your room.
“You already do angel, I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing woman who makes me feel so incredibly special.” Mel says. “I wish you were here, I’d take you in my arms and pull you in close and put your head on my chest, and we just lay there feeling each other’s love radiating from the other.” She says softly.
“Mmmm, that sounds amazing. You know that’s my favorite way to cuddle. I love listening to your heart beat and your breathing slow down until I know you’re asleep and then I fall asleep shortly after.” You say.
“I know you do baby. You want to stay on FaceTime while we sleep and then technically we can wake up together on thanksgiving morning.” She says with a big smile.
“I love that idea, it’ll help me miss you less.” You say yawning.
“Let’s go to bed my angel. Besides, unlike some people, I have to get up early to start cooking stuff!” She teases you.
“You know if I was there, I’d be waking up with you and helping you in whatever way I could with the food.” You say.
“I know amore. You are my favorite sous chef.” She says and winks at you.
“Well I’ll let us both go to bed. Sweet dreams gorgeous girl. I love you. And I’ll see you in the morning.” You say and then blow her a kiss.
“Sweet dreams princess. I love you more! I’ll see ya tomorrow!” She says and then blows you a kiss.
You wake up to the sounds of your mom working on her portion of the food today in the kitchen. You look at the alarm clock that reads 10 a.m. and then you hear “Good morning my sleeping beauty.” And you think you must be dreaming, so you look around the room confused. Then you hear Jessica Rabbit’s adorable giggle. “Turn over so I can see you pretty girl.” She instructs softly. You turn over and there your gorgeous woman is in her eagle’s sweatshirt and black leggings in her kitchen, looking at you with such love.
“Morning baby.” You say sleepily with a big smile.
“How’d you sleep amore mio?” She asks as she cuts some vegetables for some dish she’s making you assume.
“Not too bad actually. But I did get to fall asleep with you, so it makes sense I slept pretty good.” You report. “How’d you sleep my gorgeous girl? How long have you been up for?” You ask.
“I slept pretty good too. As you said, sleeping on FaceTime with you really was comforting to me. Now we know what to do if one of us takes a trip. I woke up at like 7:30 to get things started and as you know that’s sleeping in compared to a work day. When I woke up you were facing me and I don’t think I tell you this enough when we’re together but you look so freaking cute when you sleep! I may have took a picture or two for my secret stash.” She says with a smirk.
“You literally think everything I do is cute. Why am I not surprised you took pictures? And your “stalker” photo album you have of me can’t be called a secret stash when you look at it when I’m sitting right next to you on the couch.” You tease her.
“You love my gentle stalking tendencies! Just add it to the long list of my amazing attributes.” She jokes as she flips her hair.
You roll your eyes. “Oh my god I could hear that eye roll all the way in Philly!” She teases. “You my love need to get your cute ass out of bed and eat some breakfast.” She says looking at you smiling.
“Are you going to always make sure I eat every meal?” You tease her.
“Yes ma’am! I know you have a weird history with food, so I’m always gonna check on you and your eating. And it’s not because I don’t think you got it, cause I know you do. It’s just nice to have support around stuff that we don’t love doing that we have to do. It’s like you helping me with my cbd lotion for my arthritis every night. Does it make me feel like I’m your fucking grandma, yes! But does it also make me feel so cared for by you, yes!” She says smiling. “And besides I need my future wife to live a long healthy life with me!” She exclaims.
“Okay you sold me! You always make me melt when you call me that, ya know?” You say softly.
“I know baby, I feel the same way. I think we both feel that way because we know we’ve finally have found the right person. God it makes me emotional just talking about it.” Mel says and you can see she’s willing herself not to cry.
“Awwwww baby, it’s good tears though. It’s like relief and all the other emotions washing over us being like we don’t have to search anymore, we can just lie safely in each other’s arms and rest.” You say with a shy smile.
“You speak so beautifully sometimes and it always surprises me in the best way possible. I love you so much amore mio. You better be saving that shit for our vows.” She says and then laughs. “Now go eat your breakfast please if not for yourself do it for me.” The redhead says with her big puppy dog eyes.
“Okay I’ll do it just for you. I hope all your cooking endeavors are successful! I know they’ll all turn out delicious! And you better save me some leftovers, you know I’m obsessed with your cooking! I’ll talk to you later amore.” You say smiling big at her.
“I will definitely make sure to save you some leftovers! I’ll talk to you later my angel! I love you!” She says with a big smile.
“Love you more! Bye!” You say.
“Byeee!” She says and waves and then you end the call.
You, Becca, and Jake hangout in the basement and watch movies you all used to love when you were kids. You had a few drinks throughout the day and just like she said Mel made sure you drank Gatorade in between drinks. The meal with your parents was tolerable, the food was good and your mom kept the conversation light.
After the thanksgiving meal, your phone starts ringing. It’s Jessica Rabbit FaceTiming you.
“Hey pretty girl!” She says when you answer.
“Hey my love! What’s up?” You say with a big smile.
“Everyone wants to say hi to you!” She says with a big smile and then she flips her camera around and you hear a chorus of Happy thanksgiving (Y/N)! as she pans around the table showing most if not all of the Schemmenti’s.
“Happy thanksgiving everyone!” You exclaim.
She stops the camera on Nonna. “We miss you dearly (Y/N)! It’s definitely not the same without you here! But I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family!” The Schemmenti matriarch says to you with a big smile.
“Awww Nonna thank you, you’re too sweet! I miss y’all too! I’ll definitely spend next Thanksgiving with you guys, my mouth is already watering thinking about the delicious food we’ll have next year!” You say with a big smile.
“I’m gonna hold you to coming next year (Y/N)! Now have a good rest of your time home! I know Melissa has been missing you, so you get back here safely so you can take care of our girl, okay?” Nonna says.
“Yes ma’am, I will do my best to get back safe and taking care of Melissa is the number one thing on my to-do list when I get back. I hope y’all have a great rest of your thanksgiving!” You say.
The camera turns back to Melissa and she’s wearing a big smile. “So as you can see everyone misses you but I definitely miss you the most! I just wanted to call and let everyone say hi and so you could see everyone! I’ll call you tonight. I love you so much amore mio.” She says. In the background you can hooting and hollering as well as whistling. “Youse guys better shut it, before I come over there and make you!” The redhead threatens her family. You can’t help but laugh.
“I’ll talk to you later, gorgeous. Love you more! Byeee!” You say as you wave to her.
“Bye beautiful!” She says as she waves back and then you end the call.
On Black Friday you, your sister and your mom have a pamper yourself day. You start out the morning getting massages, then you get facials, then you end with getting your nails done. You were glad that you were being kept busy, it helped you not miss Mel so much.
You were at the nail salon and you and your sister were just letting your toes dry. Your mom had run home because she got done early and wanted to get the house in better shape from the Thanksgiving festivities that went on yesterday.
“So do you feel different with Melissa than you have in your previous relationships?” Your sister asks you.
“Yeah it’s truly night and day, like there’s no comparison. I didn’t know that I could feel really truly loved and she makes me feel that way every day.” You say smiling.
The bell rings signaling a new customer coming in. You look over, that’s weird the woman who just walked in looked a hell of a lot like Jessica Rabbit.
“Becks, you see that woman who just came in. I swear to god it’s Melissa’s Michigan doppelgänger! Isn’t it weird that some people have that going on?!” You say to your sister looking amused.
You realize the woman is carrying a gorgeous bouquet of roses. Mmm she’s lucky, got those flowers probably from someone special you think to yourself. Before you know it the woman is walking in your direction. You look away and start messing with your phone. The woman sits right next to you.
“(Y/N) look she sat right next to you.” Your sister chuckles.
“I mean she is my girlfriend’s doppelgänger so it makes sense.” You quip back.
“I dare you to say something to her.” Your sister says with a mischievous smile.
“Are we 12 again? Fine I accept the dare to add some entertainment to your extremely dull life.” You tease.
You turn to the woman. She smiles at you. You smile back. “Hi, I just had to say that those flowers are gorgeous.” You say.
“Thank you. They’re for you.” The woman says looking at you so lovingly.
And then your jaw drops and you look back at your sister who smiles and nods and then you look back at the woman.
“Mel?” You say in disbelief.
“Hey pretty girl.” She says.
“Shut the fuck up! No fucking way! Shut up!” You exclaim and then you fly out of the salon chair and into the redhead’s arms and then immediately start sobbing. You just hug her for what seems like forever.
“Oh my god (Y/N). You’re acting like the woman just came home from war or something.” Becca teases.
You flip her off. You finally break the hug and sit back in the chair to let your toes dry completely.
“What are you doing here?” You ask as you squeeze her hand.
“Surprising my gorgeous girl. After you met my family, I reached out to Becca and your folks to ask if it was okay if I crashed your thanksgiving weekend together and surprise you. I think I can confidently say the mission was accomplished.” She says with a smirk.
“No shit, it was accomplished. I was floored! I literally was saying to Becca when you came in that it was the Michigan Doppelgänger of you.” You say chuckling.
“Do you really think Michigan would have a Philly 11?” Melissa teases you.
“Oh honey, there’s only one Philly 11 even in Philly.” You say smiling as you lean towards her and kiss her softly.
Mel turns her attention to your sister when you break away. “Hey I just want to thank you for helping me pull this off, I really appreciate it.” She says to Becca.
“Of course. You’re very welcome. I know I give her a lot of shit. But from what she’s told me about you, you make her really happy and feel safe, loved, and supported. And that’s all I could ever want for her in terms of a relationship. So thank you for taking such good care of her.” Becca says with a smile.
“She deserves all of it and so much more. I just feel lucky to call her mine.” She says and caresses your cheek.
The nail technician comes over and tells you your toes should be dry.
You put your boots on and walk arm in arm with Mel up to the cash register with Becca not far behind.
“Let me pay for your nails guys.” Mel says to you and Becca.
“You don’t have to do that babe.” You say pulling her closer to you.
Mel looks at you and you know that she is trying to make a good first impression on Becca.
“That’s very sweet of you hun. Thank you for treating us.” You say squeezing her arm.
“Yeah Melissa, seriously thank you.” Becca says smiling at Mel.
When everything was paid you walked out to the cars.
“I grabbed her bag just like you instructed.” Becca says to Mel and then proceeds to take your suitcase out of the trunk of her car. Mel grabs it so fast it makes your head spin, she always likes to help you with your bags but knows you're stubborn and if you get to it first, you’ll insist you got it. The woman knows you inside and out, and you love that she does.
“Why did you ask her to bring my bag?” You let go of her to face her, arms crossed.
“Hey weirdo she’s trying to romance you with another surprise! Stop being a butthead! You truly are a saint for putting up with all of this Melissa.” Becca says as she gestures to you.
Mel steps close to you and takes your face in her hands. You feel yourself relax completely and you put your hands in her back pockets and pull her closer to you.
“Do you remember when you told me about you working for that really nice hotel in the summers during college in your hometown?” She asks you.
“Mhmm.” You say looking at her curiously.
“Well during that conversation you said that one of your dreams was to stay at that hotel and see what it was like as a guest. So I booked us a room there for the weekend to make that dream come true.” She says with the biggest smile.
For the second time today Melissa has made you cry. “You did not! I can’t believe this.” You say through your tears. “I don’t deserve this.” You say as you wipe your tears.
“Look at me.” She says as she gently takes your chin and guides it until you’re looking directly at her gorgeous emerald eyes. “You always put everyone else first before yourself. You always make it a priority to make me feel so cared for, loved and supported. You definitely deserve this. Let me put you first this weekend. Let me spoil my angel. I love you so fucking much (Y/N). And I hope you know that this isn’t a just this weekend thing, this is the rest of your life with me thing. So you better get used to it, pretty girl.” Melissa says and then kisses you softly.
“Damn it, y’all are better than watching the bachelor. Got me crying and everything!” Becca exclaims.
“I love you more amore mio.” You say softly.
You then turn to Becca. “We’ll see you for dinner with the parental units.” You say with a smile.
“Sounds good! Melissa I apologize for our parents in advance. They’re just very set in their ways and what they think our lives should look like. They can’t see through their own bullshit. If they don’t see how happy and in love you two are, disregard their opinion. I hope for both of your sake that they surprise us and they’re genuinely supportive of y’all.” Becca says.
“Yeah she knows about the whole Culver’s discussion that happened on Wednesday. I understand where they’re coming from to a certain degree, like yeah I’m dating someone who’s close in age to them and could technically be their friend when you put age into the equation. But she’s not! And the other issue that we’d both struggle with is if she had kids that were close to my age. But she doesn’t so that’s a nonissue. It’s just upsetting to me that they’re so closed minded if it doesn’t look exactly like their lives.” You say as you shake your head.
Melissa puts her arm around your shoulders and pulls you close to her. “It’s okay. It’ll all be okay.” She says softly as she kisses your head.
“Let’s all cross our fingers. Bye hun. I loved spending today with you as always.” Becca says and then gives you a hug. “Melissa it was really nice finally meeting you in person, again thanks for the nails.” She says as she hugs Mel. And then she gets into her car.
You go to grab your suitcase and feel Melissa playfully pull you back.
“You little shit! You’re gonna let me get your bag. Because you know how much I love you and how much I want to take care of you. So let me do that god damn it.” She says smirking at you.
“Fine.” You huff. She looks at you and pulls you closer to her.
“You know what will make you feel better? Kissing me.” She says in her flirty voice with a big smirk.
“You’re not wrong.” You say softly as you take her face in your hands and kiss her with a burning desire.
“Damn girl. Save it for the hotel.” She teases you and then smacks your ass.
She opens the trunk of the rental car and puts your suitcase next to hers. You patiently wait for her to get that all situated and then let her open your car door for you. You still can’t wrap your head around the princess treatment you get from her, but you knew it was all genuine and she loved taking care of you in those little ways.
“Thanks baby.” You say and she leans down to give you a quick kiss before carefully shutting your door and getting in on her side.

A/N: Here I was thinking my first character fic for Charlie Hunnam would no doubt be Jax Teller, and then this guy swooped in and floored me. (I also haven't finished SOA yet and feel like waiting to write for Jax until I do, and also my feelings about him are soooo conflicted) Will is an absolute MAN and I'm in love.
This will be a series and it will be smutty and indulgent.
---
It had almost been a year, but he would always be known as the man who nearly choked a stranger to death in the cereal aisle of the local grocery store.
Will - as you overheard him be called by the man he usually came to the gym with who looked just like him and assumed was his younger brother - often cleared anyone away from any machine out of fear; the other patrons sacrificing their workouts in favour of not wanting to provoke someone who may snap if he didn't get his way.
He was solo today, grunting and groaning to the left of you as he worked through his second set of bench presses; your eyes often drifting over to him in the mirror in the event he needed a spot.
You blinked as he slammed the heavy barbell back on its rack, shifting your gaze back to yourself performing deadlifts as he sat up and rubbed a towel over his face to catch the drips of sweat running down his tanned cheeks and into his blond beard.
Distracted, you lost count of your reps, cursing to yourself internally as you suffered through two more than was necessary, your hamstrings on fire and barely able to complete the last one with proper form before dropping the weights to the floor with a huff.
You glanced in Will's direction, catching him staring at you where he nodded before you quickly averted your gaze. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him lay back on the bench and continue another set, his noises of effort making your heart rate increase possibly more than your workout was.
Passing him to go to the squat rack, you couldn't help but notice the way his muscles flexed as he worked, the way his cheeks flinched as he clenched his teeth together tightly, similarly to the way he did even when he was 'relaxed' and not straining through an exercise.
Happy to be facing away from him, you started through your first set, thinking you were keeping track of your reps, only to find your mind wandering back to thoughts of him.
You sympathized for him, hearing his fiancee had left him after the event at the supermarket, knowing he had likely seen and done so many things people could never fathom experiencing in his many years in the Special Forces, and on top of all of it, not even being able to go to the gym without every person giving him a wide berth and downcast stares when they passed by.
"Damnit," you breathed, realizing you yet again lost track, only to be startled when a deep voice sounded behind you.
"You're at 8," Will spoke, making you glance over your shoulder to see him as much as you could as you squatted through another repetition.
"Thanks," you puffed, trying to sound as genuine as you could, thankful for his attentiveness while you did your best to look effortless in completing four more squats at the heaviest weight you had ever done so far.
"No problem," he smiled, assisting the bar back onto the rack when you were done. "I notice you lose count a lot."
He stated it so matter-of-factly, making you knit your eyebrows together quizzically as you turned to face him.
"Sorry!" he raised his hands in defense, "I'm a numbers guy, I tend to notice shit like that, I'm not trying to be an ass."
"No, it's fine," you returned with your own smile, "I guess I just never thought anyone would pay close enough attention to something like that, especially to someone they don't know."
Will tilted his head to the side and shrugged, like he wasn't quite sure what else to say to explain his behaviour.
"I appreciate it, though," you added, seeing a sort of discomfort crease in his features. "Saved me from doing an extra one. I thought I was only at 7."
Your laugh seemed to relax him, bringing out a light in his blue eyes and his smile that you instantly knew you could become addicted to seeing.
"Well, I'm happy to have helped, then. I'm Will, by the way."
He held his hand out, and taking note of the size of it as well as the length of his fingers, you swallowed and extended your own, meeting his eyes as he shook it with a firm grip.
"I know," you answered, seeing your response immediately wash a shameful look over his face.
He quickly withdrew his hand and moved it up to scratch his head, coming to terms that everyone knew who he was and the reputation he had.
"I've heard your brother," you accentuated as a question, "say your name a few times here."
"Oh, uh, yeah, that's Benny, my younger brother," he confirmed, placing his hands on his hips with a sigh of relief that your recognition of him wasn't only due to his infamous incident.
"Was he in the Service, too?"
"Yeah," he nodded, biting his lower lip.
"Your family must be proud of you both," you stated, positioning yourself under the bar to begin another set.
"Some days more than others," he said quietly, watching without shame as you lowered yourself into a squat and powered back up again with an enticing thrust.
Will cleared his throat, "You've got great form."
The tone in his voice made you steel yourself before continuing with another rep, feeling adrenaline rush through you that wasn't on account of the weight-lifting.
"That's it, breathe through it," he purred, that voice of his making you lose focus.
You closed your eyes and exhaled deeply, trying to match your breaths properly with your execution but failing, your mind going to a place you couldn't deny it hadn't been before in all the times you worked out at the same time as him.
It was good to work until failure, you reminded yourself, but as Will counted you to your twelfth and final rep, you struggled to reach the top of your squat let alone get the bar back on the rack.
Will effortlessly took the weight of it in one hand, lifting it easily for you to set it back in place.
"You okay?" he asked, assessing you with concern as you wiped moisture from your brow while his other hand rested along the small of your back.
"Yeah, thanks."
He stood close to you, enough for you to smell the intoxicating scent of his sweat mixed with lingering shower gel or cologne, and when you turned, his hand fell away from you just as yours felt the intense need to touch the dampened cotton shirt that clung to his warm body.
Suddenly feeling dizzy, you shifted on your feet and reached out to grip his forearm for support, shaking your head and apologizing.
"Sorry, that's the heaviest I've lifted and I guess I didn't eat enough for breakfast before I came," you stammered, looking up at him to see his face screwed up with worry.
"Hey, it's fine," he soothed, his hands holding your shoulders in a strong, reassuring grip. "Just breathe."
You did as he suggested, closing your eyes and inhaling deeply and slowly, your hand loosening on his forearm only slightly while he remained unmoving.
"Good, that's good," he whispered, his face leaning closer to yours, and you didn't dare open your eyes again in fear you really would pass out.
"Keep breathing," he repeated, prompting you to continue what he was quickly causing you to forget.
Another slow, calming breath filled your lungs, and when you blew it out gradually through your parted lips, Will spoke again, his fingers pressing into your shoulders.
"Good girl."
Your eyes flashed open, his words making you feel like you were in a haze, his crooked smile and glint in his alluring blue irises creating the opposite effect this whole exchange was meant to have.
"It always helps me," he admitted, his eyes not shifting from yours. "Whenever I'm stressed or angry…to breathe through it."
"Does that happen often?" you asked, your curiosity getting the better of you.
"Hmm, sometimes," he began, not seeming offended at your question. "Less than it used to."
"You must have been through a lot," you spoke, letting your thoughts come out freely, your hand giving a reassuring squeeze over one of the tattoos covering his forearm.
Will licked his lips, leaning slightly closer to you, holding in a breath despite knowing he shouldn't in a moment like this.
"Hey, are you done with this?" a man asked, pointing to the squat rack that was left abandoned beside you, his unexpected voice startling you both.
"Yeah, man, go ahead," Will answered, nodding at the man once and giving him a curt smile.
You watched Will size him up as the man switched out the plates on the bar, like he was waiting to see if anything impolite would come from his mouth next or turn into a threat somehow. The veins in his neck bulged as he increased his breaths, his cheeks flexing again due to his teeth clamping down on each other forcefully. When the other man continued about his business, Will seemed to blink back to reality, his chest still heaving sharply as he struggled to find calm.
Not thinking twice, you reached up and placed your open palm on his chest, directly over his furiously beating heart, bringing his attention over to you along with a sense of surprise.
He blinked quickly and sighed, his eyes searching yours for something to help him until you spoke.
"Breathe, Will," you coaxed, reminding him of what he needed to do, seeing him close his eyes and begin to slow it down until his breaths eventually matched yours.
"Thank you," he muttered, reaching his hand up to cover yours that remained on his warm chest, giving it a gentle squeeze as he flashed you a weak smile.
"Hey, I was gonna grab a protein shake from that smoothie bar down the road after, why don't you join me?"
"I'd love to," you beamed, feeling more than okay with ditching what was left of your workout to go with him, the look on his face making it even more worth it as he grinned brightly and took your hand to lead you toward the change rooms.
"Grab your things and I'll meet you outside," he ordered gently, revealing his effortless ability to delegate, and your willingness to want to comply.
Will leaned against the side of his truck as he waited, sighing to himself while he attempted to sort out everything he was feeling; the mix of wanting to lean in and trust you overpowering his usual go-to of staying distant and playing it safe, all of which was confirmed when you walked out the doors and instantly brought an easy smile to his face.

Hey thanks for accepting this ask. So what I wanted to ask is how the amazing digital circus crew would react to a reader who's a strong hero...that's incredibly optimistic, dense and Guilable thinking that the world acts like a cartoon/comic sometimes
TADC cast x comic hero type reader!
meant to start knocking out these last two requests earlier this morning but i had to clean up the house a bit; but im finally getting onto it! reminder that requests are currently closed and any requests sent in will not be answered and will be deleted to keep the inbox clean; so please keep your requests until i announce theyre open again! plan on taking a day or two off to rest my brain n back as well as catching up on art and my own personal fic. the requests being answered currently were sent in prior to requests closing with that said, i hope you enjoy this anon!!
Tumblr media
CAINE:
honestly i think caine would be the same way, not exactly but i think he would some of the cluelessness in terms of how the real world works... except its mostly with the non digital real world; call it inexperience or something! lets you play hero during the IHA.. honestly you kind of fit right in with your personality, with tropes and being a stereotypical comic book hero, if not a little naïve. pretends he doesnt recognize you when you walk around in your "citizens disguise"
likes coming up with villain npcs for you to fight during adventures
POMNI:
initial confusion when she sees you just walking around with a tie plastered to your chest, asks you what its for as well as dropping your name. even more shocked that youre shocked that she knows who you are. kind of just accepts this is a thing you do and doesnt question it, especially as she settles into the digital world.. at least youre handy during IHA.. i think during my little break i might try to figure out how i wish to right pomni because i really do wish i made her stuff more... interesting
RAGATHA:
honestly i think she would make you stuff to add to your disguise. doesnt want to shatter the illusion for you so she just tries to casually give you stuff out of the kindness of her heart... which isnt... totally wrong.. honestly i dont think she would try to change you or bring up the bad disguise thing so long as its not somehow putting you in danger. in fact i think she finds your whole hero personality endearing, you guys are both optimistic and its nice to be around someone who isnt just. losing their marbles or being a dick.. plus, you arent technically wrong to view the digital world as a cartoon, i mean, look at it and look at the physics of the world and all
JAX:
oh he is going to be a menace, probably makes a joke villain persona to mess with you only for you to immediately gun for him and deal with his "evil antics",, i mean hey as long as jax doesnt put his silly little villain mask back on you wouldnt suspect a thing... maybe... i think he would roll his eyes at some of the things you say, since youre way more optimistic and out there than ragatha... probably uses your gullible..ness... as a means to trick you
KINGER:
honestly the "as a royal myself" line he dropped in the pilot makes me think that at some level he believes himself to be a real king; or maybe he was just REALLY playing into his whole theming and he knows hes just some dude but was trying to appeal to the gloink queen... what im trying to say is that i think there might actually be a solid chance he fully leans into your hero thing, and perhaps even falls for your disguise (if him constantly forgetting gangle is standing right next to him says anything about his observation skills and/or mental state)
ZOOBLE:
similar to jax but also not. finds your optimism a little too much sometimes; especially if youre very outwardly social and friendly so its not like you swoop in to do your hero duties but you also stop to talk to the 'civilians' of the circus.. though unlike jax they wouldnt try to trick you, nor do i think they would exactly be mean to you. a little irritable by your energy and attitude, maybe, but i think zooble gets irritated by almost everyone in the circus.. reluctantly plays along with your disguise
GANGLE:
i think she would be into it, probably draws you in your non-disguise outfit. you get fanart, yay! probably similar to pomni in the whole, just accepts how you are both as a person and with your antics, but i think she just accepts everything everyone else does! not much to say, shes a fan of it and if you stand up for her when jax is mean thats just an added bonus for her

Got it from my sister
Janis 'Imi'ike x fem! reader
Warnings: some coarse language?
It's New Year's eve and some unwanted guests make an appearance. Other parts to the series here.
You rolled over in bed, bumping your nose against Janis’ back. You didn’t care and just wrapped your arm around her from how you were lying down. You heard her chuckling, then felt her holding your hand. “You awake?”
“”Not really.” You muttered. Why was she playing with your fingers? “What are you doing?”
“Nothing.” She snickered.
“I’m tired.”
“Sure you are.” Janis said back.
“I was running after Kalia all afternoon yesterday, thank you very much. That’s how I get repaid for my less than ideal stamina?”
Janis shifted a little bit so she could turn around and look at you. Your eyes were barely open, “I wanna sleep in. Aaron and— Aaron and Azalea are coming over to babysit today anyway.”
“I’m just messing with you, baby.” She chuckles, brushing the hair out of your eyes so she could press a kiss to your forehead. “Those two are gonna have a heck of a time together taking care of our little girl.”
“Don’t I know it.” You laughed sleepily, “Great, now I don’t feel sleepy enough anymore.”
“Well they’ve been begging to babysit so now that they’re actually going to be here in like…” Janis squinted at the wall clock, “Fifty minutes, sleep in to your heart’s content, honey.”
“Make sure they don’t burn down the house.” You joked.
Janis’ hand rested on your side, “I could…make you sleepy.”
“Shut up.” You laughed again, “We’re technically not even alone yet and you’re already thinking about that?”
“Well, technically, we are.” She kissed you on the lips, “A lot can happen in the forty-something minutes before they get here. And we both know it.”
You smacked your hand on her chest, “No.”
“Okay.” She agreed. “Go back to sleep.” Janis was caressing your back, and it was quite soothing. But knowing that you had guests coming over in under an hour, you were somehow just resisting falling back asleep because well, you had people coming over and you didn’t want to be rude and not greet them even though they were technically…family. Okay, so their wedding wasn’t for another two months, but they were already over at the house all the time. What difference does that make?
“Are you sure?”
She laughed, “Honey. Go back to sleep, it’s okay. They’re family, they don’t care if you’re there to say hi first or if you’re asleep because you’re literally tired.”
“I’ll try.” You mumbled, “Hold me?”
Janis grinned cheekily, “Sure, honey.”
“Yaaay.” You chuckled. She planted a kiss on the top of your head, rubbing your back.
“I’ll make sure Kalia goes easy on you next time she makes you play with her.” Janis joked.
“I’m— not like you.” You laughed airily.
“‘Course you’re not.” Janis wrapped her arms tighter around you, “You’re you. I love you.”
“Sweet.” You laughed, the sleep evident in your voice, “I love you.”
Soon after you fell asleep, Aaron and Azalea arrived. Carl let them in before leaving to go to work at the restaurant he and Grace owned. “Janis is awake but still in bed, Kalia’s playing in her room. Oh, and y/n is asleep.”
“Okay.” Aaron laughed, “Have a good day at work.”
“Help yourselves to anything, yeah?”
With that, Carl leaves, shutting the front door behind himself. Aaron headed to the kitchen to get himself and Azalea drinks while Azalea headed for yours and Janis’ room straight away. The door was left slightly ajar so she didn’t knock. “Hey.” Janis greeted her cousin.
“It’s almost noon. She’s still asleep?”
“Kalia wore her out yesterday.” Janis got up and stepped outside, “But I think she’s coming down with something? She’s usually a morning person.”
“Aw.” Azalea frowned, “Hopefully not.”
“Kalia’s awake.” Janis pointed out, “I’m surprised you guys didn’t head straight to her room to hang out.”
And, cue Kalia squealing and running away from Aaron. But, he obviously caught up with her and swooped her off the ground. “Got you!”
“Kalia.” Janis’ eyes went wide, “Mama’s asleep.”
“You’re in trouble.” Kalia snickered, frowning at Aaron. Azalea laughed, “You’re right. He is. He made you run.”
“She’s the one who yelled.” Aaron grumbled jokingly.
“She wouldn’t have if you didn’t run after her.” Janis couldn’t contain her laughter, “Anyway. I’m gonna quickly make some lunch. You three try not to fight.”
“Alrighty.” Aaron looked at the kid, “What do you wanna play?”
“Ooh, Legos?”
“Legos it is.” Aaron agreed, “You too, Aza. No escaping.”
“Lea.” Janis laughed, “Let’s have a little chat.”
“Hey! No fair.” Aaron exclaimed.
“Highly fair. She wants to play with you, I want to talk with my cousin.”
“I’m kidding, let’s go play some legos, kiddo.” Aaron laughed, easily picking up Kalia and walking over to this toy corner in the front of the living room.
“Okay, which one are we playing with today?” Aaron sat down with her on the colourful rug. “A new one!” Kalia beamed, reaching for a brand new set.
“Ooh that’s cool.”
“Mommy got it for me. Christmas.” Kalia grinned.
“Oh, is it?” Aaron asked, squinting at the Hawaiian. Who only laughed and nodded, “Got her plenty.”
“Mama got me a squishy…thing.” Kalia continued, but then forgot what a Squishmallow was called.
“I saw that one, honey.” Aaron nodded, matching her enthusiasm, “She got you the Stitch didn’t she?”
“Mhm.” The girl nodded happily, tearing open the cardboard box carefully. While Aaron and Kalia were having their fun, Janis was having a nice, quiet moment herself with Azalea. “How are things going? With the wedding planning?”
“Almost done.” Azalea grinned, “We’re gonna do it at the ranch. Kualoa.”
“Nice.” Janis remarked, sipping on a guava nectar Hawaiian Sun.
“Were you this nervous before your wedding?”
“Well, I wasn’t really nervous. For me it was disbelief, like— ‘wow, I’m actually going to be spending the rest of my life with someone as incredible as she is.’ She doesn’t think she’s perfect, but she is very much so in my eyes. Thing is, I knew deep down from the moment we met that she was the one. I just felt like no matter what, as long as we are willing to go through it together, we’d be okay. And we’ve been together fourteen years now? It’s crazy to even think about.”
“I feel the same way about him. Like you said, everything feels right with him. I’m ready, but a lot of big feelings. You know?”
“Oh, I know.” Janis nodded, “You got it, everything will be fine. It’s normal to be a little nervous and a lot excited.”
Azalea chuckled, looking over at Aaron laughing away with Kalia. “Seeing your partner with a kid is doing something to you, isn’t it?” Janis asked knowingly.
Azalea tried to bite back a laugh, almost blushing, “Yeah.”
“y/n didn’t say it but her seeing me with Jace definitely contributed to her ultimate decision of going for the IVF.” Janis revealed.
“Really?”
“Yeah, you know she has a lot of stuff with…shitty parents.” Janis continued. Azalea nodded in understanding, “I know, yeah. She mentioned it quite awhile ago. And I mean, we all saw that dang show that woman put on at the wedding.” Azalea talked in a hushed voice at the end. “But I guess…she just saw something she really wanted. And decided to go for it, make it happen instead of letting her fears control her.”
“I mean, he’s good with kids, he’s sweet and kind and caring so I know he’s going to be a great dad if we ever decide to start a family. We both want kids, but it’s also not easy for me to conceive. We went for a checkup.”
“Mommy?”
Janis stopped whatever she was doing and looked at the girl, “Yeah, sweetie?”
“Can I have a snack?”
Janis turned the stove off, “Of course, help yourself.”
Kalia grinned, walking over to the pantry. Her usual snacks were placed on lower shelves now that she was old enough to ask for snacks when she wanted. Sometimes, you and Janis let her help herself to a light bite before meals. Right now, that girl was dragging Aaron everywhere she went if he wasn’t picking her up. “Can I have one too?” Aaron asked.
Janis nearly burst out laughing at that question. “Dude, are you asking me? Help yourself. You’re family now.”
“That’s mineeee.” Kalia sulked, “It’s the last one.”
Aaron immediately gave the mini packet of fruit snacks to her, “Oh, I’m sorry. Here you go.”
“Kalia, we’ll get more soon, okay?” Janis assured.
“Thank you.” Kalia smiled appreciatively. Aaron ultimately went for some macadamia nuts from the higher shelves instead, not wanting to dip into the kid’s snacks and upset her. “It’s fine, these are great. Let her have it.” Aaron laughed, walking back to the play area with Kalia on his shoulders. She was thrilled about it and quickly forgot about how uncle Aaron tried to take the last of one of her favourite snacks.
————
“Oh, look who finally rolled out of bed?” Janis teased when she saw you walk into the living area. You laughed, rubbing your eyes. “Hi, mama!” Kalia waved “Hi, baby. Ooh, the new Legos. Having fun?”
Kalia nodded excitedly, then was swiftly paying close attention to the set she was building and putting on the next piece. You continued making your way over to Janis, hugging her from behind and pressing a kiss to her cheek, “Hi.”
“Did you sleep good?”
You nodded, “And now I’m hungry.”
She chuckled, “We just ate. But I saved you some lunch. Sit down, I’ll get it for you.”
Janis finished washing the last dish then laid your food in front of you. “Thanks, Jan.”
“No problem. Enjoy, honey.”
“Where’s Lea?”
“Oh, she’s out back talking to her best friend on the phone. Something about a…boyfriend that dumped her.”
“On New Year’s Eve? Ass.” You answered in a whisper.
“Dude may be narcissist.” Janis pointed out, “Those kinds of people are always out to ruin people’s day. Especially holidays and significant events. As we know.”
You scoffed, “One sure ruined some big days for me. Anyway, are we gonna do anything today or like—”
“I was thinking about a memory capsule.” Janis began, “Like we put some stuff in a box and bury it somewhere, open it up some years later.”
“Ooh.” You gasped, “That’s so sweet.”
“So you’re down?”
“Oh, definitely. Count me in.” You agreed, “In fact, I think I know just what I’m putting in that capsule.”
“What?” She asked, curious as she sat down with you. Kaia walked over and sat on her lap, “Hiiii.”
“Hi, sweetie.” You smiled, digging into your food.
“Lego’s done.” She smiled back, “Mommy, can you help me put it? On the shelf?”
“Me?” Janis chuckled, stroking her hair, “You don’t want Mr. Tall Guy to do it?”
“No.” Kalia answered readily. Aaron laughed, he wasn’t even offended.
“Okay, sweetie. C’mon, to your room we go.”Janis couldn’t help but smile, Kalia basically just jumped onto her back. Janis smoothly held onto her so she was safe. You could hear them laughing and talking in Kalia’s room, and that brought a smile to your face as your mind drifted away for a moment. Aaron appeared opposite of you at the table. “Hey.” You blinked profusely to bring your eyes back into focus.
“You good?” He asked with a chuckle but looked slightly concerned.
“Me? I’m fine, just had bad sleep the last few nights. Waking up too early, going to bed too late. Running after the kid’s been tiring me out, honestly. I’m not made for sporty stuff or outdoors.” You joked, “I’m an indoor person.”
“Oh we know.” Aaron snickered, “Work’s been stressing you out, I’m guessing?”
“Uh...” You scoffed, “I don’t make a lot and I guess I’m starting to worry because Janis and I were planning to move out to our own place by a certain time but we’re already behind. I think I feel bad for taking up Carl and Grace’s space for free.”
“I mean, you’re family. They have the space and they love that you guys are staying here. So, while I get what you’re saying, please don’t feel bad for staying at home.”
“Wow.” You ate another mouthful of the musubi, then were reaching for the squeeze bottle of mayonnaise, “Never thought you’d be cheering me up, huh, Samuels?”
“Hey, we’re friends. Aren’t we? Well, family soon.”
“No, family already.” You corrected him, “How’s the little playdate going?”
“I love spending time with her, she’s so cute. I know it’s not going to be exactly the same…but good practice for me, you know? If me and Aza wind up having kids one day.”
You hummed, nodding in agreement, “She’s not dragging you around?”
“A little, but no biggie.” Aaron laughed, “I can handle it.”
“I’d be mad, but you’re right. Unlike me, you were a jock. I was a quiet freak.”
“Hey. Come on.” Aaron tutted.
Later, Janis disappeared into the backyard with Kalia. Then, Janis came back inside to talk to you. “I was thinking about going out for a bit with Azalea and her friend? Just to get her mind off things.”
“Yeah, of course.” You nodded, “Have fun, we’ll be just fine, Jan.”
“Okay, honey.” Janis smooched you on the cheek and gave you a hug, “I talked to Kalia, told her I’d be out for a little while, but I’ll buy her some fruit snacks since we’re already out of those.”
You chuckled, “Oh. Alright.”
“I’ll be back soon.” Janis smiled before she walked away to go get ready.
Before Janis left the house, she gave you and Kalia a hug. So did Azalea. Then, you were back to your chores after a nice lunch. Kalia basically followed you around while you worked, chatting with you.
“Mama, can we watch a movie together?”
“Of course, my love. Once I’m done cleaning the windows of this room, let’s watch something. Okay?”
Kalia grinned, “Okay, mama.”
There was about a minute of silence, then, “Can we watch Lilo & Stitch?” Excited, and hopeful, she looked at you.
“Sure, baby.” You smiled, ruffling with her hair. She laughed, “Yay.” Yeah it would seem that you’ve made her take a liking to that little blue alien. You and Janis have seen the movie at least once a week with Kalia, by the way. Janis was bored of it, you didn’t mind and just watched it to keep Kalia company. Both of you did. “Wanna go ask your uncle Aaron if he wants to join us?” You dropped the rag, turning your head to ask.
“Yes!” She nodded, you picked her up off the armchair and walked back into the living area where you saw Aaron on his phone.
Turns out, Janis and Azalea spent quite some time at Azalea’s best friend’s place. The ex had claimed he wanted to come back to collect his things, but well, he got mad and almost violent. They all got away unscathed, but it was scary to get that voice memo update from Janis. You thought one of them got hurt. Aaron too, got a similar message from Azalea and he nearly freaked the hell out reading that her friend’s ex basically threatened the three of them.
Aaron stepped away to call Azalea, and you remained on the couch holding onto the bowl of popcorn and snuggling with Kalia. She was blissfully unaware of the panic you and Aaron had, which was great. She was too young to be caught up in the grownups’ problems. He was still on the phone, saying bye to his fiancée when he walked back inside. The doorbell rang, you excused yourself, letting Kalia hold onto the snack.
You took a look in the peephole and saw who it was. The colour drained from your face as you cursed under your breath. Aaron thought it was weird that you were just standing there so he came up to you. “Who is it?”
“June.” You whispered.
“Go sit down, let me handle this.” He urged.
“Oh! It’s you, did she finally leave that short ass art freak? For you?”
“Grow up.” Aaron scoffed, “Leave them alone. You literally could be arrested.”
“Go away!” Kalia saw her and immediately screamed, “You make my mama sad. I don’t like you!”
“How dare you all turn her against me?”
“No one turned anyone against you. You did that all by yourself.” Aaron answered factually. You didn’t even look at her once, just held Kalia closer to you. Aaron shut the door in her face and came back to the couch. The rest of the afternoon went fine, after the movie, you and Kalia went around the house to decide what to put in the memory capsule.
“What you putting in there, mama?” She asked curiously, still rummaging through her toy chest.
“This little thing.” You showed your item to her. It was a keychain version of the Squishmallow that Janis had won for you way back then at the carnival.
“Aw, but he’s cute.”
“I know, my love.” You chuckled, “It’s alright. I’ve got the big one that Mommy also got me.”
What did she decide to put in there? A Lego brick. Just one blue brick that she found in her toy chest, which you were certain it definitely somehow made its way in here instead of being in her big tub of Legos that she had. She claims that it was her favourite piece, but hey, who were you to judge? You remembered, well- there were photos of you at Kalia’s age taking an eventually wilted flower everywhere. And so, you two put your items aside and proceeded to do some colouring while waiting for Janis and Azalea to get home. Aaron’s taken over the TV for a bit, watching a movie while you and Kalia got busy with markers, crayons and a colouring book on the coffee table.  Janis came home with Azalea right around dinnertime, bearing takeout(and Kalia’s beloved fruit snacks). “You okay?” Aaron walked up to Azalea immediately. “I’m good, he didn’t stand a chance against her.” Azalea laughed, tilting her head towards Janis’ direction.
The afternoon’s unfortunate events were quickly forgotten when Janis brought up the memory capsule. Within minutes, the five of you were in the backyard with your chosen items when Carl and Grace returned home from work with Akoni trailing behind them. “Where is everybody?” Akoni asked. The TV was still going, playing an episode of Sesame Street.
“Backyard!” Janis hollered, and quickly, they all came out to the backyard and said they wanted to join in. At first, it was just going to be for you, Kalia and Janis. But you figured, the more the merrier. “I see we have quite a spread for dinner.” Akoni remarked. “We sure do.” Janis nodded, “So, why don’t we quit throwing leaves around and let’s head back inside for dinner?” You laughed, holding out your hand to help her up from the grass. Kalia got picked up by Azalea before the rest of them walked back into the house after you and Janis.
With the table all set, you were all gathered around it and sat. You and Janis made sure Kalia ate most of her food first before either of you took the time to eat your own meal. Because the kid obviously had a way earlier bedtime. “We’ll be right back, you guys.” You told them, taking Kalia by the hand and heading into her room together with Janis to read her a bedtime story and tuck her in.
“Good night, my love.” You pressed a kiss to her forehead. Janis stroked her cheek, “Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.” Kalia giggled, “Good night, mama. Good night, mommy.” Janis turned her nightlight on, and you flipped the wall switch for the main light, off. But, her bedroom door was left open. You and your family weren’t planning on having a noisy rest of the night, after all. Your nearest neighbours weren’t planning on setting off fireworks so you knew Kalia would sleep through any noise from residents slightly further away with little to no trouble.
You all mainly snacked and had a few drinks while playing card and board games, leaving the TV on to watch the countdown and ring in the new year in about three hours. It was almost 9pm, and you too were ready to turn in. You were never much of a late sleeper. But nonetheless, you stayed awake, wanting to say hello to the new year with the love of your life right next to you. You stopped playing the games right around 10:30 and just leaned onto Janis while she continued.
“Wanna head to bed, honey?” She asked, noticing how quiet you’d gotten.
“No.” You murmured, snuggling closer anyway. She smirked, “It’s still gonna be awhile.”
“I know.” You answered, “I wanna stay up until 12.”
“Alright, if you want.” Janis laughed a little, running a hand through your hair. You didn’t tell Janis about June’s surprise visit. But Aaron let it slip, and you didn’t see it coming. Then Janis was worried. You didn’t want that.
“I’m fine, Janis. I didn’t even look at her, Aaron told her to go. Even Kalia did, and yelled that she hated her because she made me sad.”
Janis forgets about the cards and just held you close while watching TV. Aaron, Azalea, Carl and Grace carried on playing— no questions asked. “She really is your mini me, Jan.” You laughed, leaning your head on hers, “Yelling at her with no hesitation? Took me years.”
“I’m glad you’re okay.” Janis tilted your chin, “But yeah, it’s pretty amazing that Kalia’s so unapologetic about her opinions— especially on that person.”
Yes, you were okay. Absolutely okay. And being able to be this calm was thanks to years and years of therapy to heal. When the clock struck twelve, you all clinked your glasses and drank a sip to celebrate the first day of the new year. After which, the living area was packed up and Aaron and Azalea were on their way home. While your uncle and aunty retreated to their room, you and Janis were also back in your own.

Hello there,
Just an idea while your requests are still open. What about a Hannibal x reader fic / oneshot where Hannibal is at an event or mutual friends party, and one of the guests has some sort of medical emergency. So, the reader (being a doctor herself) takes the initiative to take control of the situation to help the guest. Like she's telling people to make space, she's pointing to a guy telling him to call the ambulance, she's doing chest compressions, all in some sparkling sleek gown. Could Hannibal help? Yes. Did he? No. He'd rather watch unless he gets asked by the woman herself for help (like the egotistical bastard he is), or he could swoop in to assist her without asking simply to impress her?
Deeply intrigued by the readers' audacity and clear intelligence, Hannibal makes a move to properly introduce himself once the guest has been whisked away by the ambulance and the party continues on (or is cancelled, depends on you).
Idk I think it would be cute to see how Hannibal would flex his medical jargon (since he was a surgeon before he became a psychiatrist) and all that shit. Not to mention, he'd 100% use her patients as a way to get to know her deeper.
Thank you
A/N: Hi bestie! Thank you so much for the request. Sorry for any mistakes since English isn’t my first language. Enjoy!
The evening party was going smoothly. It was her first time attending a fancy dinner party where all the guests were accomplished individuals who were from high society. As she entered the house of her colleague who was the head of the hospital she worked for ahe felt a bit “little” compared to her surroundings. These people here were actual doctors, psychiatrists or psychologists, deans of universities etc. but she was also proud of her job, even though it could be hectic all the time.
She was working at the state hospital, the emergency wing. She was assigned there 2 years ago, since she was single and her family living in another country she dedicated her life to help people in need. She took shift after shift. Even in her off day she was ready to go and be helpful.
“Ah! Y/n!” She heard Dr. Chilton’s joyful voice, that man was always energetic all the time. She smiled at his group of friends and approached in her long, dark purple and shimmery dress. “This is Y/n Y/l/n from our hospital.” He introduced her to his group of 4. Others kindly smiled and introduced themselves one by one, at last a tall man with deep maroon eyes extended his hand, “Dr. Hannibal Lecter, pleasure to mee you Ms. Y/l/n.” He had an accent if one listened closely could tell. She wanted to ask where he was from originally but thought it would be rude, “Pleasure is all mine Dr. Lecter, I’ve heard so much about your studies on criminal psychology.” He was popular in Baltimore, Maryland. Chilton often mentioned him and it made her read Lecter’s work. “Oh really?” He asked in bafflement, to be honest he didn’t think someone from the emergency wing would be interested in his work. “Yes. Your last paper on The Chesapeake Ripper was very educational and thrilling at the same time.” She said, she could feel herself getting excited about it, “I, I took criminal psychology lessons for extra credit when I was at college.” She wanted to give a short explanation. Her eyes burning bright which didn’t go unnoticed by Hannibal. Before he could comment on it they heard a woman’s cry for help on the other room and Y/n rushed for aid. The poor woman’s husband was on the floor, “Clear the area. Let him breath.” She started to give orders. She knelt, not knowing a certain gentleman who used to be a surgen before becoming a psychiatrist was observing her, his heart besting fast.
She opened the man’s shirt and got rid of the tie, “Someone call 911.” She ordered and Chilton immediately got his phone. She was giving him, Hannibal exhaled and finished his drink, put the empty wine glass on the near desk. He rolled up his sleeves and knelt next to her, “Need a hand?” He said charismatically and winked at her, she was startled at first, but let him help her.
Soon the ambulance came and took the patient. Guests started to thank her and praise her for being calm and calculated. An old woman approached her, “You and Hannibal would be a perfect team, he was a surgeon before, you know.”
She didn’t know that, her eyes looked for him in the room, the panic was gone and guests were calm now. Hannibal was talking to someone and noticed her looking for him, he smiled and winked at her. Hannibal knew he will be seeing her more often.
Thank you for reading. (:

Shanks X CisFem Reader
Hello
Sake8zero : There has to be a reason a pretty young lady would be on a site like this.
Pyt07: Not particularly.
Pyt07: Mostly I was bored. Thank you for the compliment btw.
Sake8zero: I see.
Sake8zero: Just here stealing hearts then?
Pyt07: Hah. Sure
Pyt07 : and you're just here to chat I suppose.
Sake8zero: It does pass the time.
Pyt07: How do you get away with no profile picture?
Sake8zero: Keeping some mystery
Sake8zero: People don't seem to appreciate the art of conversation anymore
Pyt07: There is that.
"F/N? Helllooooo?" The greenette across from you pulled your attention away from your phone.
"Sorry." You tossed him a small smile.
"Still playing with that dating site?" He poked at the food on his plate.
"Yeah most of the guys on here are creeps though."
"Well, you seemed to be pretty into whomever that is." He smirked pointing his fork at you.
"Shut it. This guy seems pretty polite..."
"But?" Zoro asked.
"He's ten years older than me." You sighed.
Not that an age gap is bad but ten years is quite a lot. Even if he was nice so far you weren't sure you'd find much common ground. Having someone to chat with wouldn't be terrible though
"What's the big deal. You're 27 it's not like you're in high school." Zoro grunted.
"Well that's true but when I was starting high school he was graduating college."
"At the very least he could be a sugar daddy." The greenette laughed.
"Why do I hang out with you?" You cut your eyes at him.
"Because I'm your favorite cousin, you love me and I'm irreplaceable." He retorted smugly.
"Alright...ya got me there." You sighed in defeat.
"So, give the old guy a shot. You might like him."
"But he doesn't have any pictures up. What he's like deformed or has a big gnarly scar-" You cut yourself off to back pedal as your cousin deadpanned, "I-I mean not like yours, which is mysterious and handsome. I just mean like what if like half his face is gone or something?"
"If that is the case maybe he wants people to get to like him for who he is and not what's adding to or lacking from his face."
"When did you get so mature?" You muttered lowering your gaze.
___________
"So who's this guy Zoro told me you're talking to online?" Nami asked Leaning over the computer at her station.
"Why does he have such a big mouth?" You rolled your eyes, "We've chatted for maybe two and a half weeks. He's just nice it's really no big deal."
"Zoro said he's 10 years older than you." She whistled.
"He's dead that's it."
She frowned, "Hey I came in early today just to talk to you about this. You could give me something to work with here!"
"I didn't ask you to! And your mouthy boyfriend needs to mind his own business." You snapped.
"Hey – you're still related don't forget." She chuckled swooping her ginger hair behind her ear.
"Don't remind me." You rolled your eyes.
A few beats of silence passed as you watched the national morning show intro start on the TV in the lobby. Both you and Nami worked at the front desk of a privately-owned resort, you worked the overnight auditor shift.
"Fine... I've got a half hour to kill anyway. Yes, he's older than me. No, I don't think I like him like that. He will in no way shape or form become my sugar daddy. He only signed up for this site to get over his ex-wife... just like I signed up to get over Killer." Nami's eyes widened as she took in your rapid-fire statements.
Your phone pinged.
Sake8zero: Good morning! Hope you had a good night.
A grin spread across Nami's face, "It's him, isn't it?"
"So?"
"SO?! He tells you good morning? He totally likes you. Who sends good morning texts?" She paused and interrupted you, "Boyfriends, that's who."
Pyt07: Morning. It wasn't bad but I'm about to slap the morning shift.
Sake8zero: Not a morning person – noted
Pyt07: I've been up all night remember?
Pyt07: I guess I'm not an anytime person
Sake8zero: I don't believe it.
"Alright your time is up. I'm clocking out early." You hopped over the counter as Nami scoffed.
Sake8zero: I'm almost at the office but you have a good day's rest
Pyt07: Yeah have a good day at work. I'll probably be awake a little after lunch time.
You didn't know what compelled you to share that information. Well, you had gotten used to his messages. Nights when he fell asleep early were weirdly lonely. Of course, you weren't about to admit that to a soul.
____________
Sake8zero: How is the night shift?
Pyt07: Can't complain I guess. The hotel is pretty empty tonight so after reports should be smooth sailing.
Pyt07: Why are you awake right now anyway?
Sake8zero: Talking to you of course
Pyt07: Right.
Pyt07: But really
Sake8zero : How do you do that?
Sake8zero: couldn't sleep. It wasn't a great day
Pyt07: Its been a month, weirdly I can tell when something is bothering you.
Pyt07: that probably doesn't make sense
Pyt07: What happened?
Sake8zero: Ran into the ex wife
Sake8zero: it makes sense to me...
Pyt07: I thought you guys were on good terms?
Sake8zero: we are
Sake8zero: she's getting remarried
Pyt07: ah... I see
Sake8zero: don't misunderstand - I don't want to be with her. There are reasons it didn't work.
Pyt07: I get it
Pyt07: it's still kind of a shock
Sake8zero: And a blow to the ego I guess
Pyt07: Well you're out there doing your own thing
Sake8zero: true I suppose
Pyt07: don't be so down about it. Good things come to those who wait right?
Sake8zero: Look at you cheering an old man up.
Pyt07: oh shut up.
Pyt07: You aren't that old
Sake8zero: Hey is there a TV in the lobby?
Pyt07: of course, why?
Sake8zero: There's a good Hitchcock movie on the classic movie channel.
Pyt07: My statement about your age has be retracted
Sake8zero: How mean!
Sake8zero: I was born in the 80's you know
Pyt70: In 80 you mean.
Sake8zero: 😭😭
Pyt07: Don't cry. It isn't becoming of a man your age.
Sake8zero: Woooooow
Sake8zero: I pour my heart out and this is what I get
Pyt07: Come on now. I'm playing and you know it.
Sake8zero: ...
Pyt07: OK geez.
Pyt07: I'm sorry
Sake8zero: I can't stay mad at such a cute face
Sake8zero: Are you gonna watch this movie with me or what?
Pyt07: 😧
Pyt07: Oh - Rear Window... I know this one. Nosey neighbor thinks the guy across from him killed his wife right?
Sake8zero: Exactly.
Sake8zero: it's my favorite.
You continued to watch the movie as you ran your reports and chatted with the still nameless man. The movie wasn't bad and his commentary and random trivia made you chuckle.
Sake8zero: Maybe I'm just delirious, but this was kinda fun
Pyt07: It is 6AM
Pyt07 : You're delirious.
Sake8zero: You're always on huh?
Pyt07: Got me in a LOT of trouble growing up
Sake8zero: It's weirdly cute
Pyt07: Weirdly? I'm hurt
Sake8zero: It's a compliment. I promise.
Pyt07: Oh thank you! I'm so flattered.
Sake8zero: I think we should meet
He'd erased and rewrote the message three times. Why did he send it? There was no way you'd be willing to meet a guy so much older without even knowing what he looked like. And divorced? You're young. You don't need that kind of baggage.
He turned his phone off and threw it on the floor.
