I gotta address this, maybe overly defensively, but like... I don't think the concept of the characters being parallels is purely repetition. maybe it seems that way when making headcanons by looking backwards in time, looking at steban and uli and trying to imagine potential similarities to mazov and nilsen, but then the whole point is that dialectical spiral of history, they can grow and evolve, you have to heal from the past to build the future etc. if it's a spiral that's supposed to be a fusion of cycles (circles) and change (upward motion)

I just want to be clear that there's no inherent conflict with your very good le retour ideas where steban ends up fighting while uli is wounded

i was referring more to like... the thought that if mazov's death and nilsen's involvement therein happened a certain way, it must automatically follow that it'd go the same way for steban and ulixes. bc even if we're assuming they're straight-up reincarnations, that doesn't mean they'd do the exact same stuff, seeing as their circumstances are different ones, and they have things going on that mazov and nilsen lacked, and vice versa, and also like, that's a bummer, y'know? i mean there are highly interesting ways to pull off a tale of fate and predeterminism where the characters end up re-treading the exact same path as their predecessors, but that's just not to my personal taste most of the time. that's purely a me-issue tho.

for what it's worth i'm completely on board re: the spiral of history. but sometimes i feel like it's Forbidden to even suggest that anything can evolve and grow in that setting

most of my dumb headcanons are about who is queer, what kind of queer they are and why, and these are mostly not the "this is canon if you look closely" type headcanon - these are just me wanting to explore cool new kinds of characters. i'm sure it's of no use to anyone but i'm gonna take this excuse to ramble anyway so sorry for that, but it's pride month sooooo😂 here are some gender headcanons i have!

probably the one i've screamed the most about on here is nolan being a trans girl called nola. i think being pressured to be on the side of the hunters in the show's perfect allegory for discrimination and then defecting just does so much for me. i picture that she comes from a really traditional family and has never felt like she belonged with them because she was criticised for being soft as an amab person. so when the supernatural incidents and the anuk'ite cause her to feel so scared, monroe's radicalisation makes sense, because at the time she thinks the only way she can overcome this is by being the "real man" she's supposed to be and trying to develop a taste for violence. then when she realises that's not who she wants to be, her last hope of fitting into that traditionally masculine image crumbles and she's able to confront the more complicated parts of her identity she's been trying to squash out. obviously, the bones of what i just described work without nolan being trans and it's still a powerful story about gender norms and masculinity. however, i would defend the trans girl idea because a) she would be a fucking cute girl and b) because i said so {and c) i made everyone in my headcanon universe too gay and i need her and brett to be the token straights}

allison is soooooo genderqueer to me. she/they coded fr. we see this frustration she has over and over again with being a girly girl and feeling like it's a weakness, even though she clearly does like a lot of traditionally "feminine" activities and ways of presenting. and of course, she could totally be a cis girl and this is purely a case of internalised misogyny, and i think that's an aspect of her character that deserves more exploration, but i like the added detail in my mind that she might be trying to distance herself from certain aspects of that feminine image because it causes her dysphoria, although she doesn't recognise that for what it is yet. and as they grow older they learn both to not be sexist towards themself, to accept some of their softer parts (i think the way she changes the hunter code is actually a big part of this), and also that they don't like being put in a gender box and having all their feminine traits viewed as weakness.

i also had to shamelessly put it/its pronouns onto someone because i just like giving my own pronouns attention😌 but in my defence the reason for using them is quite removed from mine so it's not entirely projection. i think it's extremely valid to say that malia's experience of being a coyote for 8 years and then coming back to human and never fully adjusting is sooooo kinnie vibes. i feel like she eventually meets a therian (someone who kins an animal) and recognises that even though this person doesn't even know werecoyotes exist, they understand a surprising amount of what she feels, not feeling completely ~human~ all the time even though recognising that that's the body she's in. so it probably realises at that point that being a coyote is a significant part of who it is, and gets everyone in the pack to start using she/it as an acknowledgement of the more prominent coyote side and its somewhat disconnection from its humanity.

i'm also a big (and maybe the only) fan of chris argent being nonbinary because i wanted some older queers too, and argent has been such a cool evolving character over the course of the show. i think it would be so sweet for them to have started as the conservative hunter dad and evolved into the loving (but still a hard-ass) pack parent who understands how fear can make people let go of their ability to be kind to themselves and others, and make them repress their true selves. chris argent is kind of like teen wolf's way of showing "hey, you can still keep growing up and learning things as an adult - even with kids! and a mortgage! and grey hairs! and a family legacy of hunting down and murdering people in cold blood!" so i find them really fun to play with.

there's other ones that don't have an explanation based in canon that i just hc for fun, such as isaac (he/they/she) being genderfluid and corey (they/them) being nonbinary. i've also pondered trans man scott mccall, because he is the blueprint for positive masculinity and that makes me want to keep him as a man (although, what is positive masculinity if not just being a good person in general?) but i am always having the uncontrollable urge to make everyone trans. i'm also a big fan of cis characters completely disregarding gender norms, as evidenced by all my thiam brain rot about liam in a skirt, but bonus points if they're cis AND straight and just don't have hangups about their gender or sexuality being threatened. that shit is my jam.

I don’t have more, but I do have a collection of headcanons I’d like to share with you from that universe 😂

- Steve has a cane for when he’s out and about. He likes to fall in public even after Billy warns him the floors slippery because it makes Billy laugh instinctively. And he’ll keep laughing even as Steve feigns offence, grasping as his arms more than a little indulgently as Billy is in near tears, helping him up.

“I can’t believe you’re laughing at the blind guy. You’re heartless, Hargrove.”

“Shut the fuck up, we both know you did on purpose, you’re making me look bad.” And he’ll get dirty looks from strangers who come up and ask Steve if he’s alright as Steve puts on the ‘woe is me, look at my awful friend who cares not for my safety as a poor, fragile thing’ act. Billy is going red in the face from both embarrassment and from holding back his laughter as ladies fall for Steve’s act.

- Steve is the perfect amount of deaf to tune out Billy’s ventilator when he sleepover (and eventually moves in). He can hear it a little if he’s sleeping on the left side of the bed instead of the right, but he finds it kind of soothing.

- Steve gives Billy’s mask kisses if he wakes up before him and no, Billy doesn’t know this for a long time and when he eventually finds out, he has to take a minute to try not to cry in front of his boyfriend.

- When Billy laughs too hard, he tends to break into coughing fits. Some days it’s fine and he can rub the pain away after, but on bad days Steve will help him sit back and make him tea, the honeyed one Billy likes. Just taking twenty minutes to calm down to be the difference between a good day and a shit one for Billy, and Steve tries his best to make it easier.

- Steve forgets people need the lights on when they go around the house. Billy realised this pretty early in. Steve’s got a few windows; one in the living room, another in the kitchen, a tiny one in the bathroom for steam to exit and a balcony attached to his bedroom. During the day, Billy doesn’t really need to turn the lights on anyway, so he doesn’t. He prefers it a bit dimmer anyway with his headaches.

Billy does invest in lamps tho; silly ones that look entirely out of place in Steve’s bare but posh apartment. Steve only realises the lamp next to their couch is a bright pink flamingo when Mike awkwardly points it out one day and Steve spends weeks giggling every time his hand brushes it while reaching for the remote (so he can listen to MTV). Eventually Billy asks what’s up and Steve goes hysterical with laughter, “THAT FLAMINGO LAMP HAS BEEN HERE FIVE MONTHS AND NOBODY SAID ANYTHING! NOT EVEN ROBIN!”

“Yeah, I told her not to say anything.”

“How many of the things you’ve brought for our place are like the flamingo?”

“…Like bird themed?”

“Anything that doesn’t suit the original design of this place.”

Billy is quiet a long time before he just starts listing off many, many things he’s brought home; a black Santa statue that made Lucas snort once, multiple cat themed mugs than Robin likes to steal when over, a Cookie Monster themed lamp in their bedroom, and half of their cushions? The ugliest designs he could think of were chosen as thrift stores. There’s also a birdbath on the balcony as of two days ago and Billy’s been waiting for Steve to put his hand in it by accident.

- Steve forgets to charge his hearing aids a lot. He doesn’t have to wear them as long as people speak up, but they’re handy in public when people don’t know he’s deaf, only blind. Billy usually ends up finding them somewhere in the apartment and charges them, but on occasion they’ll leave the house without them and Steve will have a server talk right at him, except he’s distracted so he’s not tuned in and well…

A hand touches his across the table and he jolted to attention.

“What’s up?”

“Steve,” Billy sounds like he wants to chuckle but is being polite. “The poor girls going red, what’re you having to eat?”

“Oh! Sorry!” Steve’s face burned as he fumbled, turning his head to the right.

“Left.” He turned left and smiled awkwardly, fidgeting with Billy’s fingers out of the habit.

“Just, uh, the chicken and avo special. Thanks.”

“Sorry! I didn’t realise!” She really does sound sorry, embarrassed, and Steve chuckles.

“It’s fine, at least he didn’t hear you.” Billy smirks at his own joke and Steve whacked him across the table, hitting his chest more than his arm.

“Don’t be a dick.” They’ll laugh about it later though when they get home.

- Billy has some bad scarring. It’s not smooth and seamless, it’s messy and bumpy, a mix of white tissue and spots darker than the rest of his skin even after years of healing. He still wore his shirts unbuttoned, but he usually wore singlets under them in public.

Steve can’t see the damage, but he likes to feel it sometimes. The skin is thinner and more sensitive in a strange way, and Billy will watch Steve’s hand travel along the ridges and bump while he reads to the brunet.

“It’s not pretty.” He mentions one day. “I don’t get why you like touching it so much. It’s ugly.”

“Well, pretty and ugly are descriptions people with sight use. I just…it proves you’re real. I can’t say pitch me if I’m seeing things I don’t believe are there. My mind couldn’t come up with a texture like this. That’s all. It proves you’re alive. That you’re here.”

Billy doesn’t ask again. He also denies the sniff he gives, blaming the book instead of his boyfriends words for his tears.

- Billy still has anxiety, but anxiety/panic attacks are Very Bad on his weak heart and lungs, so he eventually gets a service dog after a long discussion with Steve. Billy names her Donna and she’s a big fluffy retriever who is perfect for weighted pressure to ground him during attacks. That, and she can alert Steve if he needs medical attention due to the elevated heart rate or a coughing fit that’s going on much too long to be good.

- Hospital visits suck but are necessary. Billy has to have regular check ups for blood pressure, lung and heart health, his fatigue and chronic migraines. Steve gets his ears tested twice a year as well as a general check up - doctors are keeping a close on his head for trauma due to how much concussions he’s had in the past. Billy gets his eyes tested once a year, usually to change prescription.

- They pair always go together as support. Steve can be inclined towards PTSD-induced flashbacks when it comes to needles if he’s left alone and in the past Robin went with him, but she got antsy and would ramble a lot about things that really didn’t help Steve’s nerves. Billy will usually hold his hand through most appointments because doctors dress like scientists and scientists - they freak them all out. Steve doesn’t like their constant insistence on tests and Billy is not a fan either. They know they’re in safe hands, they have a favourite doctor they’re inclined towards, but it’s still scary, so they go together every time. They’ll move plans around just so they’re there for the other. (When they really can’t, Robin or Max can stand in but it’s not preferred. They refused to be separated during visits and it’s caused a few conflicts with doctors, but they’re willing to walk right out if not heard and find someone better. They know a good lawyer after all *cough* Nancy *cough*)

- They’ve disgusting in love and Steve forgets they’re not alone sometimes, which makes it very awkward for everyone when Billy’s been talking a long time in a group setting and Steve will just put a hand on his thigh and sigh. “Have I ever told you how hot your voice is? Cause it is. Wanna ruin mine?”

Any guest has learned to scream at the top of their lungs when this happens and Steve will always end up apologising profusely because he genuinely forgets other people are there sometimes, even when invited. Billy thinks it’s hilarious.

- Sex is a little harder for the both of them, but they’re learned to work around a lot of things in order to still fuck like they want to possess the other. It’s great. Plus, Steve gets to handcuff Billy to the bed frame most nights and just feel everything. It’s different from feeling someone’s face, relearning their expressions, the new lines on their face as they age. Billys sensitive all over, or maybe he’s just sensitive to Steve’s hand in general, but it’s intimate. Steve likes caressing him all over, likes to relearning his body every night, likes remembering the parts that haven’t changed.

It’s even more fun when Steve blindfolds him. Steve’s not used to people touching him outside of guiding him, and it makes him shiver all over when Billy explores his body with calloused hands, not just touching the parts that would entice a moan or a sigh, but all over. His neck, his shoulders, his arms and wrists. Down his torso and over his hips and along his calves and squeezing his knees. He memorises where his moles are after a few months, and makes Steve grin when he kisses them. Steve’s used to exploring other people, has to to see them through his hands, but there’s a feeling so special about being explored in return.

He only ever wants to explore and be explored by Billy.

pepper goes feral: okay so on the scale of self indulgent aus this one may take the cake. it's basically a post-nwh fic set in the universe of my platonic soulmates au. the most salient part is that Pepper has been friends with May for over a decade, and has also been a parental figure to Peter for a lot of that time. so the events of NWH happen, and Pepper loses her memories of Peter but not of May, so all she knows is that her best friend is dead--and it's Spider-Man's fault.

and finally, fos bonding hours: although i generally prefer to headcanon MJ and Ned as friends independent of Peter, this was me playing with the idea that they weren't really friends before MJ and Peter got together. basically a meandering series of vignettes showing the development of the NedMJ friendship post-FFH.

"Seriously," MJ insists, trying not to let her impatience color her tone too much. "I just need to get some sleep."

Ned looks at her sidelong. "Does your building even have an elevator?"

MJ scowls. "I can take the stairs." Her ankle is well-wrapped, and five stories isn't even that much.

🌈 — i think you meant SLC(?? as that's the one i've mentioned before that took a lot of inspo from my real life).

but as for EHALOJ, i was really into harem tropes as a kid so i wanted to try and recreate that same effect into a fic, just as an experiment. then it sort of branched out into this big university au with lots of different subplots, i honestly kinda just came up with it on the spot (as most of my fics go). if there's anything that EHALOJ has something in common with my real life, it would be y/n's situation. i grew up in a poor neighborhood and never really had the best financial situation but then i somehow managed to land into a "prestigious" university (i didn't last a whole year, it was too expensive lmfao). i think this is why most of my y/n characters have that rags-to-riches or riches-to-rags type of trope, if ever i do specify her background. although i avoid self-insertion with my fics, writing that specific background just feels more natural to me because i've lived it.

💭— ngl i have no idea what this fully means but i think it would be the fact that i see my fics as actual movies/shows whenever i write them. that every person is just portraying a "character" and that the idols audition for the roles, just because i think that's really funny. and also it helps differentiate the people from the fiction. (also it scratches my itch on wanting to see idols in acting gigs).
