no dude. because percy had to have been going through it post-TBOTL. like, imagine being told you may not live to see sixteen. and imagine knowing that everyone else knows that, and having to watch them grieve you retroactively. that alone is enough to make anyone lose their will to live. except, he needed to stay alive. not for himself, but for his family and friends. for the world. it's like everyone wants him to step up and be a beacon of hope for demigods, a hero. and he's just a kid who's barely hanging on.

can you do a headcanon for penny minkus's first 3 years? by that i mean farkle & riley adjusting to college, being parents, etc. it could not have been easy to be 18/19/20 and being a parent. and yes you say they have daycare and stuff but like--i dunno, what were her first words? was farkle overprotective? was riley? etc. basically i guess their first few years of school//penny.

Oh boy okay so for her first like…six months of life they’re still in high school and that’s fairly cray

For Farkle at least. Riley is somehow juggling everything perfectly like good for her

She had so much trouble with the beginning half of senior year bc everyone was constantly STARING at her. She felt so judged and she was constantly an emotional mess. Now that there aren’t eyes on her all the time??? She’s able to focus and breeze through. Like fuck everyone else girls got a baby to focus on. Ava’s mom is watching Penny while they’re at school. Riley gets most of her homework done during study hall, and finishes whatever’s left when she’s on break at work. Starts work right after school and depending on the day Penny might be in the bakery with her (that gets cory lowkey emotional bc when he used to work there Mrs. Sworski would let him bring baby Riley if Eric got sick or something). Heads back upstairs to her apartment in time for dinner, spends some time with Penny before she puts her down for bed, and tries to finish up any work left before going to bed herself. Penny usually wakes up a few times a night but goes back down quick.

And okay like the technical agreement is ‘Riley gets her on week days Farkle gets her on weekends’ but they both just sneak over to the other’s house to sleep over lmao neither of them wanna be apart from this kid any longer than necessary

Farkle has a slightly harder time juggling things. He’s having a lot of trouble sleeping without worrying something will happen to Penny. Eric hired him as his assistant and the job gets crazy and sporadic. He’s constantly trying to plan out the future. He doesn’t have a study hall so he has a harder time working with his homework.

But they both pull through and get accepted into all the same colleges!!!

They were considering maybe doing community college for a bit but Stuart was like LMAO NO and decided he was paying both of their tuitions in full and paying for their apartment like perks of rich people am I right

Except Farkle had to be a DUDE and do the whole ‘less of a man unless I provide for my family’ thing. So he argued against Stuart buying them an apartment (Riley: “What the fuck is wrong with you?”) but agreed to the tuition lol

They found a small apartment nearby the campus and Riley and Farkle both got fairly meager jobs, Riley was like a secretary or some shit and Farkle was working at a fucking Panera bread, but they managed to pull through

Sometimes they can’t fully make the rent and without telling Farkle, Riley will ask Stuart for some money lol.

Their first semester of college was AWFUL. They never saw each other.

Scheduling was really crazy hectic for them and they were both miserable. They were both having like cutesy special moments with Penny but SEPERATELY it was kinda hell

Sometime during their second semester Farkle decides to fuck it and switches up his schedule so they have more time together and that makes both of them really happy and everything a lot easier

Their super nice neighbor offers to babysit every Friday night so they can have a date night

By their second year of college they’re definitely more into the groove of things. Farkle changed his major and Riley got a better paying job and Penny is slowly but surely turning into an actual tiny person and they’re pretty happy about it

They both read out loud when they study so Penny parrots a bunch of random facts at them and they think it’s the cutest thing ever

Farkle is really over protective whenever he takes her to the playground or anything, he barely wants to put her down, the loser even tried to make her hold his hand when she was on the swings lol. She’s his baby though can you blame him

Riley was overprotective in the sense of not wanting Penny’s feelings to be hurt or anything. You know people are always assholes to teenage parents. Cory and Topanga got that shit and Riley remembers it, and she remembers thinking it was her fault and she did something wrong. Snarky comments and judging looks from people bug the life out of her, but she’ll be damned if she’s gonna let Penny know that.

When she started walking, Farkle went through the entire apartment for a week trying to baby proof everything. Riley then went after him and did everything properly lmao

They have a little Yorkie and oh my gosh Penny never let’s the thing out of her sight. It used to like both Riley and Farkle but once Penny came along it decided Farkle was The Spare ™ and now growls at him whenever he gets too close to his own family lol

They take turns taking her to rehearsals and Riley’s the ‘you’re doing great honey just have fun!!!’ type while Farkle should lowkey be on dance moms lmao

All their college friends absolutely adore her

Like yes the whole college/baby thing is obviously stressful and they aren’t immune to that. But they’d both just rather focus on the positive things, and take things day-by-day and that really helps them out.

So what if they’re a little sleep deprived, they’ve got an adorable and amazing kid and they’re somehow managing to not flunk out of college!!! Woohoo!!!
