me the other day: I dunno maybe I’m exaggerating what small town living is like. I haven’t really lived in a small town since 2021, maybe I’m overembellishing in my D&D campaign

me this morning, after spending 6 waking hours in my hometown (in the neighborhood that I based my campaign on): actually it’s more insane than I’ve been leading my players to believe. gotta start getting weirder with it I guess

#my top 2 headlines so far:#one!#my former ice cream shop boss is doing evils in the town and there’s a campaign to stop him #from developing land in a way that bypasses all historical area rules #and the locals have developed a rallying cry of ‘don’t harm the charm’#two!#my great-uncle and great-aunt’s house has sat empty for 10+ years in my friend’s neighborhood #last night as we drove past it I noticed that the screen door was shut but the front door was open and the lights were on #I commented on it and she said ‘huh that’s weird they haven’t had a for sale sign up’#we go to her house. 3 hours later her mother bursts through the door and before even greeting me she yells #‘MOLLY WHAT IS GOING ON??? THERE ARE PEOPLE AT THE MCCARTHY HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DECADE TONIGHT!!!’#‘THEY’RE YOUR FAMILY DO YOU KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON???’#my stuff
