Once upon a time, aeons ago, my father had a one volume paperback edition of The Lord of the Rings. I took it to read.
More recently, but only just, he borrowed several DVDs from me and my (now ex-)husband, including Shanghai Noon and its sequel.
I never got the movies back. The book sits on my shelf to this day.
I got the better deal by far.
