my hcs as to dead poets after graduating welton (college&job-wise)
neil took half a semester of pre-med in harvard before switching majors to acting/theatre arts. changed colleges after a year to a acting/theatre specific one. started acting full-time during his fourth semester but still graduated . once his roles started waning he started managing a high school theatre department
todd was a english major and an indie journalist. later became a part-time english teacher in the same high school neil later worked in, and a writer (he's mostly indie except for depressed teenagers who are obssesed with his writing)
charlie switched his major aprox. 83972 times. after trying MANY jobs he settled on bartending + making/producing music. prob joined a few bands and got a small-ish cult following. 50 years after he died he got crowned musical genius n also a Bad Person™ and people die arguing about death of the author in debates abt him to this day
knox finished some fancy law school but only really worked as a lawyer for maybe ? 2 years ??. before getting married (doesn't matter to who btw) and became a househusband (not a stay-at-home-dad tho bc he should NOT reproduce)
meeks was a computer enineering major lingustics minor but got burnout and barely graduated . became a journalist that makes weird engineeringesque avant-garde art on the side.
pitts started a chemical engineering major but ended up dropping out and just being a car mechanic. he's loving it tho
cameron went to some ivy league, but his heart wasn't in it. after graduating he moved to a semi-small rural town in europe where he became an english teacher . and later principal
! bonus !
ginny was an art major. was in a band with charlie but later got picked up for a role in a shitty student film, which kickstarted a successful acting career
chris took a gap year to pursue professional cheerleading but hated it and went to culinary school. became a chef in a 5 star restaurant

The “old” Royal Navy
During the Napoleonic Wars, the navy had grown enormously and hundreds of men had reached the rank of captain. But after 1815 the navy shrank and these men could only find employment as deadwood at half pay, blocking all opportunities for promotion for able, younger men. By the time the navy was needed again against Russia in 1854, the most senior admirals had already been dismissed. The consequences were all too clear. Even the younger officers were old - one man had been a commander for 47 years, another a lieutenant for 60 years, still another a captain for 61 years and a poor man a purser for 64 years. So they had to fall back on the old ones and so one was over 90, 7 between 90-80, 25 between 80-70 still another 7 were between 70-65 and only 1 was under 65.
But this not only made for old views but also for some very strange peculiarities like this one.
Rear Admiral Henry John Rous (1795-1877), the captain of the Harlequin had his boat crew turned out in harlequin suits, while the men of the Calcedonia were resplendent in tartan. Not to be outdone, the men of the Blazer set a fashion for striped blue and white jackets, and the crew of the Vernon turned out in red serge frock coats and red comforters. One captain - Nobby Ewart - seeing one of his boat crew with a black eye, ordered all the others to paint the same eye black.
The most famous of the eccentric admirals was Sir Algernon Charles Fiesché Heneage (1833-1915), better known as Pompo. Pompo was harmless enough though resistant to anything resembling progress; technology, enineering, science and so forth would have earned his most scathing criticism. For Pompo appearances were everything. His affection was such that he could not bear to think of a common sailor washing his clothes and so he took 20dozen shirts to sea and sent the dirty ones home on every available ship bound for England. Even while rounding Cape Horn, with seas raging and men's thoughts on the Almighty and His wondrous works, Heneage was thinking of his shirts, and how he could transfer them to a passing ship. On one occasion a ship's carpenter was arrested for entering the admiral's cabin without being announced by an appropriate officer, and on another the same man was clapped in irons for going to Pompo's cabin to shut his portholes when the sea was splashing in. In the event the cabin was flooded but no one lower than a petty officer was allowed to swab it out.
Admiral Sir Archibald Berkeley Milne (1855 – 1938) was as ridiculous as Pompo. On one occasion a common seaman brushed against his coat, whereupon he shuddered, took out a handkerchief to brush the point of contact and then threw the soiled linen overboard. Something that quickly became a habit for him. And for him, anyone below a petty officer was not worth talking about, and no common sailor had even been allowed to stand in his company.
Rear Admiral Charles Prothero (1849 – 1927) - known as the Bad to the men who served under him in the British navy in the mid- 19th century, was a man of bearlike size and strength, with a big black beard and hooked nose. He still believed he was serving under Nelson, the good old days. Commanding a ship were his predecessor had had a rich supply of the milk of human kindness, Prothero thought everyone had got soft. Bumping into a midshipman on the bridge, he lifted the offender by one huge hand on his collar and dropped him over the side of the bridge onto the deck. Inspecting the midshipmen's quarters he found that several of them had got chests of drawers alongside their hammocks. Inquiring what the articles were, Prothero was told that his predecessor had allowed extra furniture to make their lives more comfortable. Prothero exploded, "When i was a midshipman il ived in my chest and sometimes bathed in it too. Throw them over the side." He always mentioned himself in the old days, even if he had never experienced them himself.

Hey Enin! If you're some kind of mirror demon, how come you only reflect toni? can u do others?
“I reflect Toni right now because he lets me, if he ever told me he no longer wanted me wearing his face I would stop. I’ve worn… many over the sweeps.”
>This next part is almost inaudible quiet
“This one is my favorite, because it feels the most like mine, Fae and their gifts and all that”

Movin' on up! - Style Savvy: Trendsetters #06
[Previous Post] [First Post] [Next Post]
This title serves a double meaning, I made some good progress in Trendsetters.. ...and my Copy of 'Fashion Dreamer should be arriving today! But until then, new outfit of the day:
I'm a little less happy with this one :-/ I was told I needed something in the 'feminine style', for a meeting with Imogen. (The current head of the luxurious 'Enin Chen' brand, also the founder's granddaughter) But I was broke, and did not have a lot of stuff that fit in my closet, So I ended up with this feminine/bold hybrid look, as I feel it's the best I could do without going against my character style (without spending more money) But in the end, I guess it was not enough to impress her :'(
Ok, well, I guess we gotta do what we gotta do... I don't have enough stuff in my normal color scheme, and the exhibition hall is closed, so....
It's been a while since my character's worn pink, I think the last time was... my first fashion show in fashion forward. Basically my first ever real event in a 'style savvy' game! I have nothing against pink, I use it all the time for customers, But, I never really felt it fit my own character, I've always preferred 'pastel pink' over most other shades, and I think it turned out pretty well! (given my limitations)
And it was enough to pass the event!
So I was able to unlock the high-end brand! (too bad I'm broke, haha) Also, the very next day...
Men's Fashion is now available! This should be interesting, Since I played 'Fashion Forward' First, I have no idea how this is going to work. (good thing they give you free stock to get you started) I may be a guy IRL, but that does not mean I know how to dress, lol. And lastly...
I now have a way to actually get rid of old/unwanted stock, you can have clearance sales! Not as convient as the 'buy back' from the later games, but I'm glad to now have at least something, and it's a bit more realistic too! --- Overall, the Game Started Pretty slow, Noticeably more so than 'Fashion Forward', But for the last few sessions, I've been enjoying it a little more each time I play. I still think I prefer 'Fashion Forward', but I strongly disagree with those that call this game 'skippable'. It may not be the ideal starting point, but I still think it's worth playing.
"But that's just my opinion!" XD [Next Post] or [Read My posts on Fashion Dreamer]

Mirrorwalking?
"Eninot is... some kind of mirror creature? He looks like a reflection, and he can travel through mirrors." Sunset says. "I think he is maybe some kind of fae? Midas hasn't been seen in public in hundreds of sweeps. And he's only still running his criminal empire from the shadows by using Enin as a messanger. He hasn't talked to a real troll in ages."
"What's that supposed to mean."
"You know... Eninot's like. Some kind of creature"
"He's my brother." Tonine says, in a surprisingly defense of Enin's trollmanity.
"..."
"He's a changeling, Toni" He says, with a reasonable amount of caution.

Needles and Numbness
I sit in the clinic chair,
the sterile scent filling my lungs,
and watch as the nurse loads the syringe,
a slender vial of lidocaine and filler,
a promise of beauty, of ease --
of a face I might finally recognize
as something whole, something untouched.
But each needle that enters my skin
echoes with memories of you,
Samuel, Liam, Troy --
your names pricking me
through the numbed layer,
through the anesthetized surface,
each puncture an unwelcome reminder
of wounds no needle could heal.
They say these injections fill,
plump the lips, lift the cheeks,
erase the hollows under my eyes --
but the void remains, a deep cavern,
untouched by the smooth swell of filler,
a hollow that pulses beneath
the surface perfection, a gap
that swallows every promise I've made
to forget you.
Botox follows,
the glabella, the crow's feet,
tiny stings as the nurse presses the vial,
a frozen calm on my skin's surface,
wrinkles erased, expression stilled.
But no neurotoxin can still the ache,
the longing for closure
left by your silence,
and beneath the frozen façade,
I am still the same.
I feel the cool swipe of alcohol,
the gloved hand wiping blood from my skin,
and I am reminded,
eve enin this veneer of control,
in this ritual of transformation,
I bleed like everyone else --
thin red lines smeared across gauze,
remnants of a pain that no syringe can mask.
The nurse wipes it away,
discards the bloodied cotton,
and I leave the clinic a little fuller,
a little tighter,
but the emptiness walks beside me,
trailing like a shadow,
a constant ache beneath the surface
that no need could ever fill.

THE DANISH GIRL
THE STORY
The Danish Girl is based on the real-life story of Lili Eble, formerly known as pre-transition einer Wegnar. Lili Elbe is one of the first trans women to undergo surgery. The surgery I attempted to get was uterus transplant surgery. The first part went smoothly, but the second part of the surgery turned into a disaster, ending in my death.
This story of Lili also contains her wife, who stood by her, loved her through her transition, and always supported Lili in becoming her true self.
The Danish Girl is based in the 1920s in Copenhagen and Paris, which are both beautiful cities.
The story of Lili has gone down in history, and she is remembered today as a strong woman pioneering the acceptance of transgender people.
youtube
This is the trailer for the movie. The Danish Girl, which was released in 2015 and reproduces the story of Lili Eble, is not 100% accurate due to this being a movie.
youtube
This video speaks more accurately about Lily's life, referencing her biography.
THE FASHION
The fashion in the Danish girl is beautiful and takes ideas from both the 20s and 30s.
The fashion in the Danish girl is very much representative of Lilis's development into her true self from Eniner to Lili and really shows her development throughout the film as she flourishes to be more confident.
Lili and her wife Gerda are seen throughout the movie wearing different staple outfits using methods such as draping, embroidery, ruching, and layering.
Another key point of these outfits is the use of hats. Gerda is often seen wearing cloche hats, and Lili is often seen wearing more fether hats, which are a lot more extravagant than gerdas. However, they both tend to have shorter bobbed hair, following the 20s style.

The Past
"I saw my earlier selves as different people, acquaintances I had outgrown. I wondered how I could ever have been some of them." - Roger Zelazny, The Courts of Chaos
Bandung, 27 Januari 2003
"Namanya siapa, kasep?"
"Itu ditanya Ateu, namanya siapa?"
"Awing!"
"Hah?"
"Awing ateeeu."
"Namanya Arkan tapi dipanggilnya Awing sama neneknya."
Hidupnya berubah getir. Arkan Si Tukang Ketawa di sekolah, menjadi Arkan Si Pemberontak. Hingga lambat laun, roda hidupnya perlahan kembali naik. Terimakasih pada Abah yang menceramahinya 2 jam berturut-turut tanpa henti, dimulai dengan pertanyaan, "ai aa teh arek nepi iraha kieu wae, a? Teu watir ka Ayah, Abah sama Enin, gitu? (Aa tuh mau kayak gini sampai kapan, a? Gak kasihan sama Ayah, Abah, sama Enin, gitu?)"
