@objectively-cool I saw your tags but didn’t want to derail the other post—my interpretation of why Andy went after Blitz instead of Stolas is A) it’s much easier to persecute a lower class imp than accuse a fellow goetian of breaking rules (and because such a thing wouldn’t be the same spectacle and would require ACTUAL proof), and B) Andy wanted to hurt Stolas. That’s the entire point of Mastermind imo. Andy and Stella want to hurt Stolas. Yes, they both (Andy especially), want to make a power grab, but that wasn’t the point of the trial. They want to break him. Beat him down and then pluck what they want from his open, defeated hands. Andy didn’t go into the trial expecting Stolas to be stripped of his power, he went into a very public trial to murder Blitz and to hurt Stolas’ feelings. To teach him a “lesson”—that if he doesn’t stay in line, Andy (and the other goetia), can and will take away everything he actually cares about. Because why else would Stella be at the palace? She moved out. She’s been living with Andy. She was at the palace to watch Stolas suffer. Stolas rushing to the trial and taking the blame wasn’t Andy and Stella’s plan, but it certainly worked in their favor.
