So, my gf and I have been struggling with transitioning to renting by ourselves for the first time, and I have made some poor choices during that process, and so has she. But we've managed to keep communication open and honest and stuff, and I'm feeling pretty good about this move. We have a little garden. We have very nice glasswear from my great aunt. We have a very nice bedframe from Ashleigh's mom. This weekend we're ripping apart pallets to repair the deck and then painting it, with help from our friend who does construction. We're also painting the downstairs (which we get to do because Ashleigh's mom is being very chill). Last night, I made Ash's favorite dish (pasta putenesca, unironically), and we cracked a bottle of wine and opened the new wine glasses I got at Marshall's, and sat and talked late into the night.
