There are soooooo many instances in The Pitt where a character says an objectively completely normal/socially acceptable/logical next step in the conversation thing to say and then everyone looks at them like they're insane.

#Whitaker answering 'do you play football' with 'yeah i used to!' and donahue is like 👁️ 👄 👁️ WRONG!#Mel checking on an active labour patient and saying 'i see hair' they did her so dirty that was a NORMAL thing to say to convey crowning #drug seeking patient talking about his family and mohan saying she's an only child then popcorning to whitaker who says what siblings he ha #and they again look at him like MORONN WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT LOL AWKWARD #but IT'S OBJECTIVELY THE NORMAL CONTINUATION OF THE CONVERSATION #my conclusion here is that everyone is so neurotic in the pitt that the ones who understand the fundamentals of how normal conversations go #are the ones thrown under the bus #robby asking whitaker if it's a good sandwich and he's like yeah actually NOPE sarcasm #something you see online a lot too depicts this well - you can't depict sarcasm accurately when NO ONE KNOWS YOUR INITIAL VIBE #sarcasm as a first impression on someone tends to require a bit of 'are they being serious or are they a bit dry/awkward?'#it's consistently funny in the show but omg some justice for these characters!#i get that the clown is having a horrible day but his social vibe was fucking awful lmao #the pitt #the pitt hbo #the pitt max
