Tiktok revenge
George had just finished his work out at the gym when he accidentally bumped into some kid recording something on his phone. His post-workout shaker spilled everywhere, including on him and the boy. “What the hell, you fucking dumbass!” George screamed. The kid put up his hands defensively
“Woah dude. My bad!! I was making a tiktok...can I get your dry cleaning or something, bro?” He gave a sheepish grin. George was fuming.
“No! You fucking idiot influencer!!” The kids face got a bit more serious at this point.
“Look, sir. Let me actually introduce myself...Name’s mason. I’m doing my best to be respectful and helpful. I just like making stupid internet videos, I’m not some vapid narcissist...everyone on social media isn’t the same person.” He extended his hand to shake George’s.
George rolled his eyes and snickered. “Yeah right, I’ve seen your type. The cringe lip syncing, the dumb dances. You’re what’s wrong with the world.” The kid was a bit more taken aback this time. He was trying to be fucking nice to this loser. Well, no matter. He knew how to deal with this guy. He smiled a rather devious smile and said. “I have access to the hot tub and steam room. Would you be interested in either? I just wanna make this up to you, bro.” He held out a key card that would allow him into those areas.George heaved a dramatic, exasperated sigh.
“Fine. Whatever. This and pay for my dry cleaning if you fucking insist on this fake “be kind” persona...” he snatched the key card from Mason. He chose the steam room first; he was alone in the room which seemed odd. Was it really that exclusive? He heard an oddly relaxing music, and he couldn’t help but sit down, clothes and all. He swore he could hear words faintly. But he liked whatever they were.
“Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Listen to my words and obey”
Weird lyrics, but he found himself listening more intently. As he began to feel the steam relax his body more and more.
“You are a dumb tiktoker. You are a dumb tiktoker. You love doing tiktok dances and you don’t care if people think what you’re doing is cringey. You love lip syncing to songs and trying to be cute to girls.”
George muttered to himself, repeating the words he heard. Almost like he was singing along. But then he started to notice just what the words were. He shook himself a bit and got up from the seat, going to open the door. It was locked.
“Nice try, asshole. I’m not quite done with you yet. Sleep.” He heard mason’s voice. But it was wrong. Distorted. He felt himself drifting off. He then felt himself trapped in his mind, listening passively to the lyrics of the song...was it a song? He didn’t know. He just wanted to obey now.
“Good job, kiddo. Knew you had it in you to listen to your big bro.” He heard mason chuckled. He found himself chuckling too.
“You can speak now. Tell me how that made you feel.”
“Proud.” George said, beginning to drool a bit.
“I see. You like making your older brother proud then?”
“Yeah, mase!” He nodded.
“I’m glad. Llsten to this song again.”
“Ok bro. “
The song began to play again.
“You love tiktok. You love tiktok and impressing girls. You’re dumb. You’re love how cute you are and you wanna be famous. You love tiktok. You wanna get famous on tiktok.” He found himself “singing along” despite the song not even rhyming. Stupid. But it was catchy, so whatever, right? He lost track of time when the door opened, and there was his big brother, mason. He had a change of clothes in his hands.
“Dude! I was getting worried about you, Gavin. I was texting mom and dad I lost you in the gym!” He yanked his brothers hand.
“Uh. Sorry. Stuff got kinda fuzzy in here and then I fell asleep.
He grinned sheepishly, showing off the braces that mason, who had already slipped in to give him iuniore drug, and make his hair a bit more more presentable for his new life along with those braces.
“It’s okay, Gav, you dummy.” He patted his back, handing him a black zip up hoodie and his backpack...Or he assumed it must be at least. Why would his brother bring him anyone else’s hoodie or backpack? He was such an airhead.
He took them, putting them on in a little privacy stall where his brother couldn’t see and followed him out after finishing. He drove them back home, and he felt like he couldn’t recognize the way there at all.
‘Had he driven in this car here? How had he got to the gym?’ He found himself answering his own question eternally
‘Duh, dumbass. Your bro takes you to the gym all the time.’ He grinned to himself, feeling an intense dopamine rush at his affirmation on his stupidity. They got home, and he was met at the door by a boy with curly blonde hair who sort of looked like him. His fraternal twin, Grayson...Or at least that’s what he told himself, and again, felt the rush of happy, dumb feeling chemicals in his brain. Grayson guided his brother to their shared room,
“Dude! I got an idea for a tiktok you gotta do it with me!” Gavin grinned. He loved tiktok. He loved cute girls. More brain chemicals rushing in. The two brothers smirked and made a tiktok, lip syncing to a song and mugging for the camera.
A bit later, after the two boys had got ready for bed and were playing PS5, mason was dying laughing in the living room watching back the stupid tiktok his new brothers had made. Gavin was the perfect fit for his new twin. Grayson was, at one point, Mason’s college professor who hadn’t been understanding of Mason’s needs since he had started acting in a new show. Certainly took care of the problem, since he got him to sign his report card with an A before he’d slipped the Iuniore to him. He loved the sweet irony of Gavin and Grayson becoming everything they hated.

oh baby it’s cold outside || hwang hyunjin
day 6 of 31 days of christmas with ydale
pairings: hyunjin x reader
genre: high school!au, love interest!au, fluff
warnings: just hyunjin being sassy and soft.
“ooookay! let’s wrap it up folks, we’re done with our work. wooohooo!” your group leader, yeji, celebrated.
“FINALLY!” jeongin stretched from sitting for about 5 hours of working on the project plus 8 hours from class.
all you did was dug your face of the table as a small thud occupied the whole room. “my gosh, i thought this was never gonna end.” yeji patted your head while jeongin cleaned the table.
“hey it’s okay now. we’re done, at least we got through it.” you looked up and gave her your puppy eyes. you adored yeji so much because of this reason, she’s sweet and always cheers you up. you weren’t necessarily really close with her before the project but you were mutuals, now you feel like you’re one of her besties.
you laid on yeji’s bed and cuddled one of her stuff toys, you looked at the empty ceiling and sighed.
“damn, it’s already almost midnight?” jeongin pointed at the clock and yes, it’s almost midnight.
“oh shizzle, i need to get home.” you stood up quickly and packed your bags. you were about to zip you bag when you noticed that you were missing something. “uh, hey girls, did you see my jacket?” you asked them.
they both looked at you, “no.” they both said. and with that, your palm met your face from disappointment as you sighed, you faced them and frowned.
“i think i left my jacket in class.” you pouted. you tried not to panic because it’s just a jacket and you can just borrow one from yeji. but you worried that someone might’ve took it and that jacket isn’t yours, it belongs to your brother seungmin and he will for sure get mad if you lost his most expensive jacket.
“you can just borrow one of my jacket until you get back yours.” yeji walked to her closet and took out a fluffy warm tan jacket. you second guessed on taking it but you needed it to get home since you’re just walking.
you pouted even more and took the tan jacket. “thanks a lot, yeji. i’ll bring it back tomorrow.” you shyly said.
yeji walked out of her bedroom while you and jeongin followed her. you saw yeji’s brother and your crush, hyunjin, in the living room playing with his ps5.
hyunjin noticed that the three of you are heading towards the entrance door when hyunjin spoke, “where are you going? it’s almost midnight and it’s snowing.” hyunjin set his headset and controller on the table.
yeji looked back and squinted, “they’re going home?” she was unsure on how she was going to answer her brother, well, of course you and jeongin needs to head home despite jeongin’s place is literally the apartment above yeji’s.
“y/n can stay.” hyunjin said and walked towards you. he rested his arms around your shoulder and lead you to the couch with him. he smirked at you while you were just dumbfounded.
“well how about me?” jeongin pouted, yeji just smacked his arms and jeongin let out a saw ‘ow’. “you literally live a floor above us and plus you’re a guy, you can kick ass. y/n can’t.” hyunjin said and rolled his eyes. yeji just gave jeongin a ‘i told you so’ look before walking out the apartment.
“hyunjin, i need to go home. my mom is going to look for me and i have a class tomorrow.” you said and took out his arms from you.
“i’m not gonna let you walk home with your short skirt and a thin long sleeve, you’re going to freeze outside.” you sighed and tilted your head back. “but my mom and my brot--”
“you can just tell your mom you’re sleeping over with yeji, i’m sure she wouldn’t mind. right, yeji?” hyunjin asked his sister, yeji just nodded while bidding jeongin her farewell.
“hyunjin, my parents don’t work like that. my parents are strict.” you said but instead of hyunjin letting you go, he pulled you towards him.
“if they were really strict they would’ve never let their daughter go here and stay until midnight. not let you wear a short skirt outside during winter.” he pulled you by your waist while he sat back on the couch. “i got you, i’ll tell seungmin that you’re here. he can convince your parents.”
you rolled your eyes. “and hey, if still insist on going home, it’s really cold outside and i’ll tell seungmin you don’t have his expensive jacket with you right now.” you glared at him and punched his shoulders.
“hey! that jacket stays between me and my brother.” you snarled and looked at yeji to help you. yeji just shook her head and raised her hands as if she can’t fight her brother from deciding for you. you just pouted and turned to face to tv.
“fine, you better bring me home first thing in the morning.”
“fine by me.”

december buzz.
i'm sitting in the living room curled up on my couch with a candle blazing determinedly on the table and a cup of instant decaf coffee cooling next to my compputer as i type type type away - and these are all the little comforts i throw in the face of the biting cold i know to be outside. i've somehow lost my neck gaiter, which i bought only last week, so i ordered another one and it's supposed to come in tomorrow. no way am i going to run outside without it, with my face frozen raw in the cold. today i had to settle for a simple abs workout. i gues that's one of my goals for this year: to be more active than i've been, and to take my fitness more seriously. i feel the need to provide a counterpoint to the sedentiary lifestly this work from home situation (and my job in general) has allowed me to fall into. no need to get stagnant and waste away. one of my friends recommended this app called fitbod, and i did one of its workouts and felt the burn, so that was a good sign. maybe i'll become one of those people who takes progress pictures in the mirror every three months. maybe my true calling is to be a fitness influencer, and to become obsessed with counting calories and measuring body fat percentages. or maybe 100% definitely not. i took two weeks off work at the end of december for the holidays and that entire time i thought to myself "you know what, this is the time to treat myself, to spend hours on end playing video games, watching movies with my family, and guiltlessly eating all manner of chocolate and takeout, extravagent feasts courtesy of consecutive holidays, and my dad's homecooked meals." needless to say, i overate probably every day of my vacation, and i justified it by promising to be more committed to my fitness in the new year. december was a good month for me. i got to spend lots of time with my family, which is always nice, and since we were all being cautious because of the pandemic, they're basically the only people i saw the whole time. my brothers were all home for the holidays, and we spent most of our days playing video games in the playroom. they were all playing a co-op game called division 2 together while i made my way through all four seasons of the walking dead game, a plague tale, and, after my brother miraculously managed to successfully buy a ps5, returnal. by the end of my vacation, i was playing returnal at any given opportunity. who knew i'd be so into a rogue-like game? but the gameplay was addictive and the visuals were impressive, and i guess as frustrating as it was, the challenge of it compelled me. we all went to bed at around 5-7am every night, and before i fell asleep, i'd see the ghostly after image of my character fighting any number of alien enemies in my head. i'd conjure the laser lights and colours, and i would rebuild the ruins of the environment, playing the game in my head. sleep wasn't made any easier by my brother's dog, who would often lumber into my room and hop on my bed, settling himself into a ball or laying down on his side. he's a big dog, so he took up most of the bed, and i typically found myself cast to the side, trying not to move lest i disturb the beast and he leave. because even if it wasn't the easiest to fall asleep next to the big dog, there was a comfort to having him there - a steady and unconditional warmth. so that's how december went. but it wasn't totally spent cooped up in our house. we'd go out for bubble tea or to grab food, or to take a trip all around toronto, visiting incredible christmas lights displays some houses had put up. and we also went to the distillery districty, where we witnessed a proposal and ate some more. christmas was as nice as always. our living room floor was drowning with presents, and the tree was as big as i'd ever seen it. after all the eating and present-opening, we settled in the playroom to watch don't look up on netflix, and all of us enjoyed it. also, my work gala took place in mid-december, and that was a great time (even though there was later some concern it had been a superspreader event). i finally got promoted to a program ambassador position, and i just found out i was my company's associate of the month, so all in all, the year ended on a high note for me. now here we are, starting the year back in lockdown, but i haven't been too upset by it. i was yearning for quiet nights anyway, and this gives me the time and space to focus on drawing and writing more, which are more goals i have for 2022. i hope i can remain consistent and disciplined enough to continue this trajectory of healthy habits and creativity. i know that all crafts take practice, and i want to get good. here's to hoping i can keep it all up. lots of things to look forward to and be excited about in the new year. i hope that if i end up reading this sometime next winter, i'll be able to look back and see it'd been a good year after all.
