if ur still doing the character meme: reinhard lotgh?
yessss thank u I have many thoughts abt him
Sexuality Headcanon: has never once been attracted to a woman ever in his life. tbf not sure he's ever knowingly been attracted to anyone who isn't kircheis. everything else is just. well he really wants another want to be a worthy rival/nemesis in a way that isn't not kind of erotic but like. it's not Just erotic it is also very much abt wanting to die in battle to a ~worthy opponent Gender Headcanon: so like. in canon I do think he's a cis man especially considering how strictly gendered the empire military is and he doesn't seem to have much space in his brain left over for exploring his gender. however I do sometimes enjoy rotating trans possibilities in my head and I am compelled by the thought of transmasc reinhard bc I think that. given his ambitions he knows that he needs to be in the military, which means he needs to be/pass as a man (and also given what happens to annerose I think he has specific motivation to not want to navigate the world as a women), and I do enjoy stories abt people who crossdress for plot reasons and then decide that they're trans actually A ship I have with said character: he and kircheis sure are in love A BROTP I have with said character: I am obsessed w his weird complicated friendship w hilde, how she's the closest thing he has to a friend but he doesn't fully trust her bc he doesn't fully trust anyone, her going against his orders to save his life at the end of season 2 and him thanking her but not being able to forgive him, their inevitable lavender marriage, their "butch hitting on a twink she thought was a butch" energy, A NOTP I have with said character: uncomplicatedly romantic het4het reinhard/hilda I guess? extremely important to that dynamic to me that they are a gay man and a lesbian. like I can't really see him properly dating anyone other than kircheis but like. I'm certainly not opposed or immune to any of the homoerotic potential of his relationship w like. reuental or whoever A random headcanon: I think it would be fun if he and kircheis used to cut each other's hair. y'know. the intricate rituals of it all. the intimacy & vulnerability, etc etc. trusting someone else to shape ur appearance and therefore ur public image. and that's partially of why he grows it out after kircheis dies General Opinion over said character: he's so beautiful and so sad and so terrible and I want to study him like a bug. love that he's like. not wrong that the aristocracy is bad except unfortunately he's so much a part of the society that created him that he doesn't have any other way of dealing with it except with more militarism & imperialism & autocracy which does not fix anything in the longterm and will lead to his inevitable and tragic downfall. and also I think it's funny when he makes policy decisions that help the people without seeming to actually like. especially care abt that and everyone is like "oh wow maybe dictatorships are good actually." but yeah in general I love it when characters are tragic and gay and fucked up. and also I cannot wait to see the continually unfolding consequences of letting a 24-year old with a death wish become the most powerful person in the galaxy

I posted this on Bluesky (btw I have a Bluesky: @charonyx.bsky.social), but I'm gonna try to post more, at least once a week to get my thoughts out in the ether. I'm probably gonna put quick thoughts on Bluesky and my super rambling stuff here on Tumblr. So ye. Also, I guess this would be a good post to put in what media/games I'm into and actively follow.
Twisted Wonderland: What a shocker. Certainly, I'm gobsmacked. But I've been into this game for 4 years so y'know it's kinda consumed my life :D
Lord of the Mysteries: Super into the characters, story and worldbuilding. My favorite characters would be Klein, Leonard, Emlyn, Audrey, Edwina Edwards and many, many other characters so I'll just leave it at that. Also like Leonard and Klein together a Normal amount.
Hatoful Boyfriend: It's so good guys. There's not much fandom right now, but the characters invade my mind every once in a while. Love love love Holiday Star. This was my first foray into the otome genre and what a banger to be introduced to.
Undertale: Permanently altered my brain chemistry and influenced my morality. So yeah a really important game for me with characters I adore, secrets abound and a heartfelt message delivered in a charming way.
Deltarune: We're still in Chapter 2 but I'm interested to see where it's gonna go since with the first two chapters we can already see some building blocks Toby's putting in place to expand upon and blow our minds with. So excited about that.
Arcane: It's such a trip and I'm currently going though it
Kingdom Hearts: Oh I've listened to many summary videos and later went through the game's story myself which was fun. I would say my favorite storyline is Kingdom Hearts Union Cross. Am also eagerly awaiting for any Missing Link news.
Gravity Falls: Saw it for the 1st time in 2014 or 2015 and it's just so good that I don't think it'll ever be away from my mind.
Honkai Star Rail: I do have some critiques and problems with Hoyoverse, but even si I am enjoying Star Rail and hope it keeps on fleshing out the characters and the Pathways. Also recently played the Wardance event and Luka is best boy rn.
Currently experiencing Persona 3 Reload and am enjoying it IMMENSELY. The characters and their relationships are fantastic. I love when there's banter and character dynamics.
Minecraft: Formed my early internet years and I will always love it and have a soft spot for it. Both for the Youtubers who played it in their own chill way and how it truly gives freedom to the player and serves as an outlet for creativity
Shining Nikki: Been playing it for around 2 years and yeah I can say I like it. Might play Infinity Nikki when it comes out
And that's all for now, folks!

Tagged by the wonderful @curator-on-ao3 who's delivered a whole new set of questions - how fab! Have fun answering!
1. Why do you write fanfic?
It's fun. That's the short answer. The long answer is, I was looking for fics about my OTPs and finding some but not enough. You know that saying about if you want to read something specific, you'll have to write it? Yeah. I found some great stuff about my ships, but no one's going to write the ideas in my head except me.
2. Which of your posted stories do you think about the most, even though the story is “finished”?
I really, really love Going Under - it's a Drown Malcolm Reed fic without him, y'know, actually drowning, and for once he's being rescued by Hoshi, not the other way around. Although to be fair, that story's finished, but the series to which it belongs isn't...
Also Revisiting Risa, because I particularly enjoyed writing both the introspection at the start, and the follow-up smut. Happy fun sexy-times are my jam and I want my characters to enjoy the hell out of being with each other.
And the Outrun series, especially Outrun and its smutty Outtake. It was my first action/adventure fic, and I am absolutely enamoured of how I managed to capture that specific relationship dynamic and have them enjoy each other, both in danger and in downtime.
3. If you could give yourself fic advice from when you first started writing fic, what would that advice be?
Don't get hung up on hits and kudos. And it helps to find someone to read through your fic if you're not sure about it, but that's not essential. Other than that, have fun, and give gifts freely, because why not spoil people, especially as you get to know them and figure out who likes what kind of fics. And remember that you can always edit whatever you've published without pushing it back to the top of the list.
4. What’s your relationship to fic stats?
I like checking them every now and then, just because it's good to see which themes readers seem to enjoy (via kudos, it's action/adventure so far) and it's also been fun watching some of my newer fics outstrip some of the older ones. But comments are more important to me than anything else - actual engagement, not numbers, that is.
5. Is there a pairing or scenario or friendship you miss writing? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'm still in the single-ship writing phase as I don't really feel comfortable writing any of the other characters, so it hasn't come up. I'm looking forward to writing some ensemble and buddy fics, though.
6. What motivates you to write?
Telling the stories that are stuck in my brain, because they jump in there and won't leave, and I need to get them out. And it's been too many years since I wrote for pleasure, not work.
7. Why do you write for the fandom(s) that you write for?
I love Star Trek to the extent that I have the IDIC in Vulcan script and the Vulcan hand tattooed on me, as a reminder of what could be in our future one day; so writing in this universe, even just this small part of it, twisting canon to my whims, is lots of fun.
I'm currently only writing for Enterprise. I enjoy that NX-01 and her crew are the 'fuck around and find out' team. Sure, the series isn't the greatest, but that's exactly why there's fanfic. I love the characters of Enterprise, and I want to add to their stories and take them beyond just what we see on the screen.
And I agree with Curator that Star Trek readers are generally really great about comments and kudos.
8. If you’re stuck writing a WIP, what do you do?
I generally have several WIPs underway so I switch to something else and think through the problem in my downtime until it works itself out. Or I write smut or fluff. Those are fairly easy and let my brain work on untangling other plot points.
9. What do you wish people knew about comments?
Your comments are appreciated even more than kudos; even an emoji works, but when a reader leaves a detailed comment, it's even more fun to engage and sometimes start longer conversations.
10. Maybe there’s a question you wish had been on here. What’s that question (and answer)?
How do you fill out bookmarks? I try to put in my own tags - which I also try to make as descriptive as possible - and also give a short review, or mention what I really enjoyed, or what the fic should be seen as (did it make my heart happy? Did it hurt my heart? Was there anything in particular that struck me - without giving away spoilers?). I've been told that people enjoy reading my bookmark commentary, and I hope that one day I'll have a bookmarker who'll do the same for one of my fics. One can hope!
Time for tagging! As ever, @more-better-words @talshiargirlfriend @papercranesong @iamstartraveller776 @glitter-and-metal @mirabilefuturum @anretc @hjea @scatterbrainedcapybara @cyanocitta-cristata-bromia @themurdochmemesteries @queenspock @saintzenni and whomever else wants to join in!
fic author q&a
I was tagged by @deadheaddaisy for a fun and great fic author game. Thank you for tagging me, @deadheaddaisy! ❤️ As happy as I am to be tagged, the thing is, y’all, I’ve done that particular game a few times already and, even though it’s a great game, I was in the mood for something different. So, I’ve made new questions — and answered them — and I’ve tagged some folks in case they want to answer them, too.
1. Why do you write fanfic?
Life can be stressful, and writing fanfic can be like a little vacation. It’s not my life, anymore, it’s the characters’ lives.
2. Which of your posted stories do you think about the most, even though the story is “finished”?
I think about Malleable and Unmalleable Orders (Mirror Pikeone, E) probably because it’s so different from what I usually write. I also think about The Light Before Dawn (Pikeuna, M) because, even though it would have bogged down the story, I do think they eventually get married and the details of all that sometimes cycle through my brain.
3. If you could give yourself fic advice from when you first started writing fic, what would that advice be?
Enjoy this time of not really knowing fic conventions or expectations.
4. What’s your relationship to fic stats?
I try to avoid them. I love every kudos and comment and bookmark and subscription. But I don’t go looking for the numbers unless I have to.
5. Is there a pairing or scenario or friendship you miss writing? If so, why? If not, why not?
I miss writing Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris. I had a lot of fun with that pairing for a while.
6. What motivates you to write?
If I don’t write the stories down, they get stuck in my brain. So I guess setting them free (in good ways) is my motivation.
7. Why do you write for the fandom(s) that you write for?
I really do believe in the ideals of Star Trek — IDIC and peaceful coexistence and all that stuff. Even though I often write for the spin-off series, not the original Star Trek, creating stories in that universe lets me be part of it, even in a small way. Also, as a bonus, I do think Trek readers are great about comments, kudos, etc., and that helps a lot.
8. If you’re stuck writing a WIP, what do you do?
I might work on something else or take a break. The problem will rotisserie in my head and probably work itself out if I don’t push it too hard.
9. What do you wish people knew about comments?
That any nice comment is welcome and appreciated and, if the person doesn’t want a reply to their comment, they can just say so and it’s easy enough for the author to honor their wishes.
10. Maybe there’s a question you wish had been on here. What’s that question (and answer)?
How about, “Do you read public AO3 bookmark notes on your stories?” Yes. Because of bookmarks like these on The Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy (Gen, T):
