sejanus and marcus truly have one of the most insane dynamics from the franchise, like i have never been this crushed over a story between two characters in my life. 😭

i was really expecting the movie to take advantage of their past, to bring that raw emotion to the screen. because even after a whole DECADE, sejanus still remembers and cherishes marcus for what he did for him when they were children. marcus helping sejanus with his hurt finger on his own, showing him kindness, never left him. sejanus never experienced that level of generosity in the capitol, i don’t think he was treated that way ever again.

it breaks me reading their scenes in the zoo and during the questionnaire, because sejanus so desperately wants to make amends with him. but marcus has made up his mind, he doesn’t say a word to him, he doesn’t trust him, and he never gives in. the plinth’s are despised in two, sejanus being his mentor won’t change that. sejanus bringing him food, and offering it to him multiple times won’t either. sejanus goes as far as to ask coriolanus to trade tributes because marcus being his tribute is taking that much of a toll on him, while he clarifies that it’d be terrible with anyone, it’s marcus that brings him so much emotional distress.

marcus’s torture being displayed as a message, but also to get under sejanus’s skin… dr. gaul teases him about marcus’s disappearance, (most-likely) knowing they’d already caught him. and looping back to the reaping, strabo buying the district two boy… done only to shove it in his face that he could never go back to two. sabotaging him with marcus seems to be a common theme.

when marcus dies, sejanus honors him. sacrificing himself just to do so. he’d planned to die in there with him, too. and if coriolanus hadn’t been sent in, it would’ve worked. when he agrees to leave with coriolanus, he doesn’t want to go without marcus’s body.

marcus, undeniably, had a very large role in sejanus’s actions, in his resistance, and once he was gone, sejanus doesn’t have a purpose to live anymore. he tells coriolanus in part three that after the arena, he had planned to end his own life, one of his reasonings being because of what happened to marcus. and that was not the first time he’s considered suicide over marcus’s fate, he feels that guilty over him.

sejanus still keeps pictures of marcus, takes the childhood class photo where marcus is standing behind him to district twelve. ma comments on how she knew marcus’s dismay “hit him hard”. coriolanus calling sejanus dramatic over going into the arena, and sejanus reacting as if coriolanus had slapped him across the face.

they met for the first time in district two, then again in the capitol, and eventually in death. just . MY GOD!!!!!!!

Final thoughts on UWE

I was iffy on the art style with this dark fantasy, steampunk story but I’ve grown to love it over the last few months. The animation is wonderfully exaggerated and fluid. The faces are incredibly expressive. I think this has expanded my mental image archives for OCs and art.

Even with a possible season 2, I do think a lot of information wasn’t touched upon. Merlin is shifty as hell. I won’t forget about how he lied about Melinda’s powers to Morgan or blamed a child. This whole “eternal” battle thing reeks of bullshit.

We have no information on Alfie and Dimitri. We have no clue where Merlin got Copernicus or why he awakened early. Otto is dead so where did he come from? We spent most of the finale with Emma running around. The final battle was about 5-7 minutes. Even with crunch time, I can’t let that slide. Edred’s backstory had a longer run time.

Speaking of Edred, there were times that I felt he was the main character. I know more about him, how he feels, how he thinks, his life, etc than the entire cast. If anyone is the mc of this season, it’s Emma and by extension Melinda. I wanted more of that inner conflict and both their histories. Yeah, he’s a pretty elf but his screen time should have been shared with the others.

What is the evil? Why is it evil? Has no one questioned Merlin on why Melinda’s powers created it?

I don’t think Winston or Edred were irrational in their feelings. Edred has been with Melinda for centuries and Winston and Emma are childhood friends. Yeah, I wouldn’t react well either. I still think Edred is more wrong tho.

If it was possible, I would grind him between my teeth like gum. I would spit him out. I would yeet him into a trash can. I don’t hate him. I actually find him adorable. He’s a sad, little man. I want to whump him.

Emma, I absolutely adore. I love her. She’s compassionate and empathetic when she has every right to not be. Instead of hating unicorn, she cares for them, she comforts Melinda. She abandons her parents to return to the cosmic realm. I wish we had her internal thoughts more. How did these bonds form?

Speaking of Unicorn, we saw like 2. What kind of motif is this? 😭

I hope it gets a second season. It’s a weird little thing, but it’s fun and has a lot of potential. The fandom is also fun. I’ve enjoyed my time on twitter and interacting with others. There’s great art too.

I like what you’ve posted in the past about how it varies a lot across the fandom. It was Dune for me and I’m counting down to Dune Messiah now even though Feyd won’t be in it because the franchise got me hooked. Especially Chani 😭

it being based off of real people i could research rabbit hole. i know bikeriders is too- but there's so little information abt them whereas with mota it was a whole new world opened up to me.

it giving me an opportunity to revisit a fandom hobby i used to really love- m/m fanfic writing <3 i'm gen surprised i never got into the hbo war fandom sooner, but i'm really happy there now.

i love ensemble cast pieces where there's lots of characters and actors to love (this is why i liked the bikeriders, even though i didnt get as attached). esp love big group dynamics between Guys That Love Each Other which mota did exceedingly well to me.

funny story- even though i was into buck x bucky from the jump- i think i was actually one of the first 3 posts in the tag, it took me until my second watch through to get as attached as i did and i did nottt love it as a whole the way i do now on my first watch. now on the other side of like 20 rewatches i understand why they chose to handle gale going down the way they did. but when i was watching it for the first time i was watching it for austin and i was sooo irked. rosie was my least fav character my first watch bc i was so bitter about him "replacing gale" and now he's in my top 3. funny how that works!

the second time i watched it all the way through, since i knew what to expect austin screen time wise i could reallly watch it for the story as a whole. and that's when i fell in love <3 with everyone <3 like i literally just wrote a 12k+ words fic shipping demarco and dogulass who have like ten minutes of screentime each, douglass i think a little less than that lmao they're all my blorbos now <3

i just. really love the show. i love how much the boys care for each other in spite of all the horrible shit they're going through. i love the development of the bucks relationship, i love croz's journey as a character, i love nash and helen and how horrible douglass is with women and the planes, and curt's bond to the bucks and kenny and his lil beanie and rosie humming jazz music mid flight and COCOLA!!!! i love every aspect of this show. it just. clicks for me.

speaking to my second bullet point way up there i also love all the creativity in the fandom being shown in all the `new stories~ people have built for these characters. i really missed being in a Third Person Fanfic fandom, writing m/m fic (and heck f/m too since i write for ev and helen, and my m/f OC couple) and doing the world building that writing AUs requires. so being back in the pilot seat (haha) in that regard has been fun. and brought me so many new fandom friends <3 y'all that are interested pls come hang out anytime on @bcolfanfic

but all that said i'm so glad dune clicked for you the way mota did for me! even though the franchise isn't "my thing" i'll prob end up watching dune messiah as well. and def understand the chani adoration. she's a fantastic character and zendaya plays her so well. i can't imagine any other actress in that role.

Chapter 7: I cannot with the 98s groupchat, please “strangers to lovers au”💀 seungkwan and chan casually talking about yns tweet has me dying, but I love seungkwan and Vernon’s different approaches to getting chan to ask YN out ㅠㅠ NOT HIM CALLING HER A GOOD GIRL BYE😭 I love how the 96s are just going in on YN over her texts with chan but I knew Woozi felt some type of way and I know wonwoo texted him and that’s on context clues🕵🏽

Chapter 8: I KNEW WONWOO JAD A FUCKING CRUSH ON HER TOO I KNEW IT but he’s so tragic like that’s noble of you to give up your crush for your friend but dang that’s angsty. She slapped cheol and struck fear into him we love that lol also her and Soonyoung bonding is so cute and fun

Chapter 9: DINOO YOU ARE BOLD💀 also Soonyoung stop please my sanity can’t EITH your jokes I’m smiling hysterically at my screen-.- they’re going on a date ahhh. Also YN is such a dumbass “take me out” in what context would be the other way😭 but Jihoon coping with his crush by being passive aggressive 💔😭

Chapter 10: Joshua please stop and let your true self show for once for Jeonghan’s sanity🤡 I love how invested the oldies are in yns business to the point where they’re dropping what they’re doing to go get the tea straight from her on her dinner with Soonyoung. Such a ride or die friend group😭

Chapter 11: of course we start the chapter with JiHan bickering lol and cheol has to mediate between them😭but Wonwoo is such a good friend to Woozi consoling him about his crush crushing on another man and going on a date with him. Idk I like how their crush on tan made them bond it’s kind of touching like you can tell wonwoo really cares and wants Woozi to be happy :(

Chapter 12: I love how the plot just TAKES A TURN lmaaoo😭💀 it was so refreshing to see the 97s again after only appearing at the beginning of the story!! As a fellow caffeine drinker I feel personally victimized by wonwoo help but I still love him though he’s just being caring 😭 also Mingyu developing a crush on Yn is so juicy and chaotic especially when chan is also his friend?!

Nobody asked but I’m going to detail my every thought watching this episode here so enjoy:

1. Why on earth did this episode open with an upbeat montage? I literally said “what the fuck”out loud. I don’t know about you after defeating God and losing my adoptive son and my best friend (who confessed his secret love to me then died immediately after whom I’m also secretly in love with) I’m going to be pretty fucking devastated not doing chores?

*also forgot to add but Sam or Jared is looking super good in this montage, especially the shirtless scene. I’m not a Sam girly (Cas girly till I die) but even I was like “jeez is that man fineeeeee”

2. I definitely won’t be going to a pie festival? Like wtf was that?? Why is Sam more upset about Cas’ death that Dean. Dean is just like ‘ah well, shit happens and life goes on’ like sir are we going to pretend you didn’t go completely non-verbal watching the love of you life die in front of you.

3. Vampmines as the final big bad?? Like I think vampmines are kind of funny and that did make me laugh.

4. I do appreciate when shows comes full circles and there’s literary symmetry. A show ending how it started. So I like that it’s an old Case of John’s.

5. I like the rock music as the screens pans to Deans machete slicing through a vampires neck.

6. Sam should have let Dean use throwing stars, the boy just loves his toys.

7. Jenny? Who the fuck is Jenny? Like honestly when I watched this the first time I have no idea who she was, I had to google who she was. Like literally like I said I’m all for symmetry but out of all the people they could of brought back? Why her? It makes no sense, 0 sense.

8. However Deans whole interaction with her is super funny.

9. NOOO THE CAMERA JUST ZOOMED IN ON THE REBAR. i can’t believe Dean is about to die like I know he is but I don’t believe it. only 18 minutes into the episode. AHHH HE’S JUST BEEN IMPALED NOOOOOOOO.

10. It’s so sad that Sam doesn’t immediately realise Dean’s situation. The panic in his eyes 😢 Dean refusing to let Sam get the first aid kit or even trying to save him kind of reminds me of the door titanic scene like there was definitely enough room for both of them, Jack didn’t need to die. DEAN DIDN’T DESERVE TO DIE.

11. I know early Dean wanted to go on a hunt and I may have been okay with that (I wouldn’t) but WHERE WAS HIS BLAZE OF GLORY?? it wasn’t even a vampire who killed him IT WAS A FREAKIN RUSTY NAIL. Also that man didn’t not want to live (because of his grief for Cas obvs). They spend MINUTES saying goodbye I’m sorry Sam could of saved him.

12. Dean telling Sam about that night he came to get him from Stanford and he was there’s for hours nervous because he was scared of Sam rejecting him and him begging Sam not to leave him. NOOOO IM IN SO MANY TEARS.

13. Dean telling Sam to “keep fighting” as he choosing to die THE HYPOCRISY

Annnnnd that’s all I watched because I’ve turned it off now in disgust. As it turns out, Enough time has not passed and the grief is still raw. I’ve seen all I’ve needed to see as my fic is canon until a second before Dean is impaled and that’s when my fic diverges from this shit show of a final episode.

I have watched the Supernatural fully only once, I have rewatched seasons 1-8 a fair few times and episodes with Cas and Gabriel I have watched a dozens times but I have never watched season 15 or the last 2 episodes more than once.

Until today. I have not been able to bring myself to do it but as I have resumed writing my post season 15 fix-it fic, I wanted the end of the show fresh in my mind. So for research purposes I’m putting myself through the pain of watching ‘Carry On’ (I’m not or never will be able to bring myself to watch ‘Despair’ again. - since we’re starting off with kenma.. i’ll say one thing. the last time i watched haikyuu was at least 2-3 months ago, so i don’t remember everything. but i do remember not seeing kenma down any drinks. 

- i know he has the roughest, driest and desert like lips. i just KNOW he’s the type that doesn’t put chapstick on. tbh i dont either

you were applying your chapstick on your lips before leaving to go get groceries for dinner. you put on a heavy load, bc you KNEW kenma would ask for a kissy kiss before you left. and just like that, you were right. “then can i get a kiss before you leave?” he asked with his adoring eyes never leaving the screen. you smirked. gave him a kiss, and made sure that some chapstick was applied on his lips. you both released from the kiss and you smiled before walking away. at least i won’t be kissing the desert for the next few hours. kenma had no idea that chapstick was smothered on his lips until he licked his lips while playing his games. “hmm, i guess y/n ate some peaches before leaving..”

‘What is that boy up to?’ I asked myself thinking out loud. But I was immediately snapped out of my thoughts when my sister walked in. ‘Heyyyy’ she said while walking in looking at her phone screen. ‘Hey’ I sighed as I sat down on my bed. ‘You good?’ My older sister sam asked looking up from her phone as she was sitting on my beanbag.

‘Yeah, I’m fine. I just don’t know what to wear.’ ‘What’s the occasion?’ ‘Lou texted me saying that he’s taking me somewhere and I should wear something comfortable but I wanna wear something nice but also comfortable’ I whined the last part. She immediately ran into my closet and came out holding a beautiful sundress.

I ran to her and held up the dress to my chest looking at the full-size mirror beside my bed. ‘Where did you find this?’ ‘It was way back in your closet and I remember seeing it once when I was looking through your clothes.’ ‘I would yell at you but you helped me so thank you’ ‘yeah yeah, now go and change so I can do your hair!’ She said pushing me into the bathroom. ‘Okay okay, I’m going!’ I said while throwing my hands up as if I was surrendering.

I put the dress on and got out of the bathroom and made my way to the mirror. ‘Wow! You look beautiful. And that’s coming from me’ ‘hey!’ I said shoving her playfully. ‘But thank you, I really appreciate your help’ I said and gave her a small hug. She did my hair while I did my makeup. I looked at the time and realised it was 3 already. ‘Shit! I really have to go, he will be here any minute.’ I ran downstairs as fast as I could and said goodbye to my parents and ran out the door.

There he was, the tall brunette boy standing in front of his car wearing black trousers with a green crew neck and inside a collared white shirt holding a bouquet of flowers, I ran up to him and wrapped my hands around his neck and gave him a quick peck before taking the flowers. ‘What are these for?’ I raised and eyebrow at him. ‘For you darling’ he said with a smirk while opening the door for me like a gentleman. ‘Why thank you kind sir’ i said as he shut my door and made his way to the drivers seat.

‘Where are we going? We’ve been driving for the past half and hour.’ She said/whined. ‘Patience babe, patience’ I said placing my hand on her thigh. ‘Fine! But can I choose the songs now at least.’ ‘Yes, yes you can.’ I said while handing her my phone. We spent the rest of the ride listening to her playlist called ‘car rides’ and it was really fun. Before reaching I handed her a black cloth and said ‘tie it around your eyes’ ‘no! I’ve waited long enough’ ‘babe, please!!! I promise it’s worth it’ I said making puppy eyes which I know always works.

‘Fine! You know I can’t say no to that face but just know that if you like prank me or try to fuck with me in anyway, I’ll beat your ass’ ‘I promise I won’t prank you’ she finally put the blindfold on and we reached. I took her hand and led her to the place. She took her blindfold off and I waited anxiously to see her reaction. ‘Omg! Ahhh it’s so pretty!’ She said running up to the picnic that laid out on the hill we confessed our feelings for each other and had our first kiss.

‘We’re almost there’ I said pulling y/n by her hand. ‘Ughhh it’s too far away!’ She whined. ‘I promise it’s worth it’. We finally reached the top and she got there just a second later. ‘Holy shit Louis! This is beautiful.’ She said looking at the sunset. ‘Not as beautiful as you’ I muttered under my breath. ‘Did you say something?’ She said still looking at the view. Actually there is something I nee- want to tell you’ ‘go ahead I’m listening’ she said and now we were looking at each other.

I cleared my throat ‘umm, I’ve been feeling this way for a long time but I didn’t know how to tell you and didn’t want to ruin our friendship. I like you y/n, I really like you!’ I looked at her face and she said nothing for a second ‘oh I know I fucked up, you probably hate me n-‘ before I could finish that sentence she kissed me and I kissed her back. ‘I really like you too Louis’ she said as our foreheads rested against each others. We stayed there for about 2 minutes before I closed the gap between us again.

‘Baby this is perfect!’ I said running up to him and hugging him. ‘Not as perfect as you’ he whispered in my ear sending chills down my spine. ‘I love you!’ I said, ‘I love you too’ he said and then kissed me and I melted into the kiss. We spent the rest of the evening just talking, taking Polaroids and eating. It got a little chilly but he of course had a blanket in the basket and he wrapped us both in it and wrapped his hands around me. It was amazing, just my perfect boyfriend and I, with no sound, watching the sunset, the wind blowing slowly and me feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.

*****🚨 ⚠️NWH Spoilers (just in case)🚨 ⚠️  

Omg!!! I really enjoyed NWH so much!  😃  It was way better than FFH imo.  I loved how the movie took me on an emotional rollercoaster all throughout. It was fun, exciting, nostalgic, funny, sad, emotional, and intense all in one!  I loved it.  ❤️    I’ve already seen the movie twice!  😂

I liked how we got to see a little bit more of MJ and her personality. We even get to see her in her room lol.  I liked how we got to see some backstory on Ned, and even got to see his grandmother.  I liked how the teachers did NOT get much screen time in this movie (no offense lol) like they did in FFH.  I also liked how the movie was a bit more serious this time around, and wasn’t just a bunch of jokes (I kind of felt like FFH was a little too much joking/trying hard to be funny at times).   I loved seeing Peter and MJ’s development as well!  And I felt like they had way more chemistry this time around when they were no longer being anxious, awkward teenagers around each other lol.  I loved seeing the softer side of Michelle as well. She’s really come a long way since the first movie! 

I was heartbroken about Aunt May’s death, and it really was gut-wrenching, but I’m kind of curious to know how Peter is going to navigate his life going forward now.  I kind of feel like Marisa Tomei’s character was kind  of wasted in this franchise (jmho), but she did a good job with what she was given.  

I LOVED LOVED LOVED seeing all of the old villains and Tobey and Andrew come back for this!  Sooo many memories! Omg...I squealed in the theater when Andrew popped up lol.  😂  And I cheered even more when Tobey appeared lol.  I KNEW IT!  I always said to myself that when a rumor just won’t go away, it usually means that there’s some TRUTH to the rumor lol.  I’m just happy that now the cast doesn’t have to lie anymore lol!  😂 Remember back when Jimmy Kimmel was asking Zendaya what kind of food Tobey and Andrew like for Thanksgiving, trying to trick her into spilling some details lol??  🤣  Anyway, I was shocked at how much screen time they got tbh, because I figured they would only get a quick cameo, but they got a LOT of screen time!  And seeing Tom being able to share the screen with those two who came before him must have been SUCH a huge moment for him!  My heart welled up with pride when I saw them all onscreen together, and the group  hug...Omg....  😭 😭 I know Tom must have cried on set lol.  What an honor....  I was so happy for him when I saw that scene.  🥰  I’m assuming this is “the scene” he was referring to that was a huge moment for him in his career.  Just a guess lol. 

This was such a huge and emotional film for everyone, and I can’t wait to see it again!  Andrew is still a GREAT Spider-Man, and Tobey is still a good Peter Parker. It’s like, they have their strengths, and then Tom is like good at being both Peter and Spider-Man in an effortless way.  It’s like, I never forget who he is underneath the suit when he puts it on, which is what happens to a lot of actors when they play dual roles in superhero films.  

RE: The Press Tour...  I LOVED it!  I think they handled it beautifully! Sooo many cute and sweet moments between the two of them.  🥰  When you compare their NWH press tour, to their FFH press tour, you can tell that they were definitely going through a breakup in 2019.  😔  They just seemed sooo much more relaxed, chill, and comfortable with each other the entire time during this NWH press tour.  Sooo many sweet moments that we will probably be posting in gifs and pics for months to come lol.  Even Jacob seemed way more relaxed during this press tour lol. Everyone seemed less on edge imo lol.  

 RE: The NWH Ending... Oh boy, the ending was sooo bittersweet!  😭  I honestly didn’t understand why Dr. Strange had to erase everyone’s memories of Peter Parker. Why couldn’t he just erase the fact that people linked him to Spider-Man?  I just didn’t understand that lol... But oh well, maybe I’m not supposed to think TOO deeply about it lol.  I felt so sad that Ned and MJ acted like they didn’t even know who he was at the end of the movie.... But, at the same time I kind of wonder how MJ and Ned would have even ended up being friends w/out the Peter connection tbh lol...because let’s be honest, even though they were both on Decathlon, MJ was pretty closed OFF in HOCO, and barely ever made any friends lol. 😂 

Anyway, it was so sad that Happy and MJ didn’t recognize Peter at all, but MJ is still wearing the black dhalia necklace at the end of the movie, so hopefully one day she’ll ask herself where she got that necklace and how it got broken lol.  😂  I just have hope/faith that she will figure something out or start to remember something about Peter in time.  I’ll be honest though, I’m really excited to see where the next movie takes us!  I LOVED seeing that  Peter is now venturing out on his own, he’s got his own apartment now, he’s studying for his GED’s, and he’s making his own suit.  I feel like the movie basically undid all of the mistakes/issues that some of the fans complained about in the franchise (ie. Peter not making his own suit, everything being handed to him by “Mr. Stark”, Peter never having to struggle, etc), and this is Sony/Marvel’s way of sort of starting from scratch again, with an eventual ADULT Peter Parker in the future films to come! 😊 I’m actually REALLY excited to see what’s next for Peter and his friends, especially since hopefuly they will be graduating or in college by then, and I’m excited by the prospect of there not being any Avengers or mentors in the films anymore lol.  😂   It’s time for Spider-Man to shoot his webs and swing through NYC on his own!  I’m sooo EXCITED for that, and I can’t wait to see Tom take on this role in a 4th movie!

“Okay fine,” Ned gets up and turns to you. “What do you need the onions for?”

You wink. “Try ko gumawa sinigang mamaya.” [i’ll try making sinigang later]

Ned’s face lights up. “WEH?? Oh My Goodness!! Tulong kami ni Peter!” [Really?? Oh My Goodness, Peter and I wanna help!]

So now you’re in the kitchen with two idiots who clearly did not help their parents with cooking

Ned throws his head back in laughter. “She’s been saying that a lot lately.”

Peter is genuinely confused. He presses on, not noticing the God entering the kitchen, following the smell of tamarinds. “What does it mean? Ang gwapo mong p*ta ka-”

You slam a hand over his mouth. “Hoy! Don’t say that around Loki, if he finds out what it means malalagot ako HAHAHAHAHAHA” [if he finds out what it means i’m dead]

Ned strikes a pose. “It means ‘you’re so fucking hot’’ Ganyan kayabang tong si Y/N sa feelings nya for Loki HAHAHAHAHAHA” [that’s how bold Y/N is with her feelings for Loki]

The two of you die laughing while Peter is c o n f u s i o n

And loki just standing at the door not processing it yet

But when he does hoo boy

He’ll sneak up to you and tease you so much

Go as far as even lean in just enough to get you swearing in Tagalog

Ned and Peter will be there like o-o
