b and n's proposed plan for holiday merchandizing is such an unmitigated disaster my coworkers and i are scrambling to figure out how to make it make sense lmao. they're allocating all of the best space to types of books that do Not sell well especially for us (expensive nonfiction hardcovers) and heavily restricting where we can put the stuff that DOES do well (fiction, genres, local interest, fucking. trendy booktok stuff) and it's. baffling. i straight up cannot figure out what they're thinking
