Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes 💙

Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased

Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird

Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark 💙 yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time

Zee (RITCHANON SRIPRASITDSCHA aka FRAME) is his volleyball team's all star (I'm Guessing) but he gets along with no one on his team especially First (PANYA MCSHANE aka RYAN)

They have a soft show down.

My Speculation: Maybe they were best friends and First confessed to Zee and Zee was an asshole about it. Or something. Im guessing because Sprite takes over Zee's identity after Zee is hurt because of Sprite and the main couple is Sprite (as Zee) and his teammate First. So why would First fall for Sprite (as Zee) if he "hates" him. Unless Sprite reveals his identity to First before they get together. Time will tell.

I haven't written for this fandom in a while, so forgive me if my characterization is a little rusty!

Roman awoke to a warm weight on his chest. It was almost pleasant, or would have been if he could breathe. He shifted a little, feeling out the contours of it with his body as his mind woke up.

His eyes flew open with the sudden realization— he slept alone.

A flat, scaly snout greeted him, mottled browns and blacks blurring at the proximity. But he wasn't too close to recognize the general shape, the slit-pupiled eyes.

A snake.

There was a snake on his chest. A big one.

Roman swallowed and fought to keep his breathing even. If this was some sort of twisted prank by Janus (or worse, his brother), freaking out could only make the situation worse. Janus and/or Remus would probably love to see him cry and flail like some sort of bumbling sidekick. So he had to keep calm.

But how exactly did one remove a gigantic snake from their chest?

Before Roman could pursue that line of thought, a whisper punctuated the silence. "Gem?"

Footsteps shuffled in the hall. The snake cocked its head, doglike.

"Hey, Gem?"

Roman's door, which should have been firmly shut, creaked on its hinges and swung further open. Janus poked his head in and froze, mismatched eyes meeting Roman's

"Ah."

"Looking for this?" Roman asked, carefully metering his tone to keep from disturbing the snake.

Janus entered the room properly and crossed his arms. "Do you make a habit of stealing other people's pets?" he drawled. "Should I keep an eye for a giant spider, too?"

"Hey!" The snake shifted and Roman bit his lip. "I didn't do anything; I just woke up with this… this thing on my chest."

"Oh, very nice." Janus crossed the room and scooped up the snake, which began to coil around his torso like an enchanted scarf. "Did you hear that, Gem? Our resident Disney prince thinks he's too good for you."

Roman braced his palms on his mattress and sat up. "I didn't say that," he said, cautiously eyeing the snake's face or any sign of hurt feelings. A thin, dark tongue flicked out and Roman smiled despite the strange situation. "Gem?"

"That's her name," Janus said slowly, but without any hint of condescension. Almost like he was hesitating. Like he was… shy. "And… I suppose, if you wanted, you could pet her. Just don't bend her scales back."

The textured surface of Gem's back was cool under Roman's fingers and for a moment, he wondered if Janus' face felt the same way. If it felt nice, to have your scales petted. His face warmed and he looked down, coming face-to-face with his own sculpted pecs. Well. No wonder Janus was acting so awkward.

Still, there was something warm in the way it made him feel, that Janus kept his eyes downcast. He made a show of stretching to let his covers fall further down his waist, exposing the waistband of his sleep pants.

Sure enough, Janus shifted his weight and coughed a little and pulled out two more arms to pet Gem in three places at once.

"So why did I wake up with your snake in my face?" Roman asked, and immediately regretted his choice of words.

"Oh," said Janus, reeling his energy inwards, "I put her there to mess with you, of course. I just came in here pretending to look for her as part of a comedy bit. What do you think, did you laugh?" When Roman only scowled, he sighed and added, "She can open doors. She likes to wander the subconscious sometimes."

"Hmm…" Roman looked at his door, bright cherrywood reflecting the imaginary sunlight streaming in from his window. "I must have forgotten to lock my door."

Silence descended upon them. Roman bit his tongue. He hadn't spent much time alone with Janus, not since… everything. It was almost pleasant to have something to talk about that wasn't a point of great existential dread.

Something mundane and scaly and cute.

"Well," said Janus after a few more excruciating seconds, "I suppose we should be going now." Without waiting for a response, he turned to go.

"Ah," said Roman, seeing him already almost at the door. "If you and Gem ever want to come visit when I'm wearing more clothes, I um. I don't think I would mind that."

"I'll have Gem's people talk to your people," Janus said, but Roman could have sworn he winked before shutting the door.

for something a little different, here’s a bunch of the ‘runner-ups’ in the stranger who was your self title card line up (plus the final version in the middle).

I really had no idea of what to do with this one going into it, other than the vibes I wanted was ‘kind of melencholy, but also hopeful’. Top left was the very first design I did and I like it a lot! But unfortunately it just felt very aesthetic and not at all tied to Eadwulf’s story.

From there I dabbled with the idea of using pictures of people- or parts of people (as seen in the top right)- and I liked the idea of trying to highlight Eadwulf’s black coat as a character piece as a big part of the story was inspired by the hashtag vibes of the Asha’man of the Wheel of Time series. This eventually led to the final design.

Bottom left was thrown together as ‘maybe?’ but upon finishing it just felt tacky.

Bottom right was nearly the winner, as I really liked the bared teeth on the dog with an open mouth like this, but ultimately I didn’t like the breed of dog to make it representitive of Eadwulf AND the final design had a bit more of the vibes I was going for and felt like a great blend of the aesthetic of Eadwulf being dangerous, but also his tender heart.

(also a reminder that we aren’t going to talk about the fact that the heart graphic is backwards bc i have the free canva account and theres only so much i can do lmao.)

i will say in retrospect. my courtesan/sex worker character with some funky body horror shit going on that dresses with the strictness of a victorian prude to keep anyone from realizing how weird they are is an absolutely hilarious concept of mine and I wish I could beam how funny it is to others

it's the mystery, the intrigue. mask kink but for fans of the thing and the layers/sharp fit of three-piece suits with a trench coat over the top

ah i could not help myself. checked onk for a detail on the movie arc and ended up rereading the entire movie arc, then bit the bullet and read up to current. not as many chapters as i thought considering how long ago i was "caught up" and that onk is a weekly?? i guess there were breaks. almsot made me think it was a monthly series. with how little there was

tbh if i had waited til the end of the year that would have been perfect. it rly seems like there are not many chapters left. even where i left off tho, it was enough where again i wasn't dying to know what happened next, so i can wait for it to finish if it finishes this year :) maybe spoiler-y rant in tags for past 5-6 chapters
