the sound of the engine revving reverberated up his body; like a natural disaster, an earthquake. get in the car elliot, get in the car. carmella was in his arms, cradled to his chest and her soaked hair stayed plastered to her face as he kept her off the ground, his heart pounding harder and harder as the lambo revved again, like it was speaking to him. just like carmella was, he could hear faint gurgling into his shirt, water spilling out of his lips and down his front like a faucet. ‘why couldn’t you get in the car? i’m not important enough? you’re going to keep putting yourself first like this?’ he wants to tell her that he tried, he promised he tried he wanted to so badly he just couldn’t get behind the wheel- just as he feels carmella open her mouth against his sodden chest, feels her sink her teeth into the skin just above his heart he’s rocketing awake with a muffled cry. his hurts as he sits up straight, hands trembling as they brush at the sweat on his temples. he shouldn’t have fallen asleep in the basement lounging area, but it was just...convenient to pass out after he’d polished off the bottle of stoli he’d carried off. his eyes trailed around the room, and realized that the girl he’d met outside having a smoke was in the room. “shit, sorry if i was-” he stops; not even sure what to apologize for, just certain that he should.

Since she was already dressed and ready for the day, Monica headed right over to the diner and go them a table. A nice booth by the window with the sun shining in, but not too overbearing. She was content, reading over the menu and checking her phone before she noticed Madison had arrived, looking up. “Hi,” she smiled. “They have really good omelets here.”

Calum had literally been going stir crazy without his Playstation which was why when Madison showed up again looking for Evie, he was honestly relieved to find his roommate not home. “Oh thank god you’re here. If I didn’t experience some human contact soon I thought I might turn to dust.” He said as he climbed off the couch to welcome her into his apartment. “I’m sorry this place is still kind of a mess. Evie and I can be kind of shit at that. We had a chore sheet once.” He assured her as he turned around to the still broken vase in the corner and everything else that still looked a hot mess.

“about what, jelly bean?” lux looked up from where she was examining her nails — she wasn’t sure she liked this colour, but it seemed to fit the spooky aesthetic she was planning for this whole trip. she’d been late, coming out, her dad had asked her to stay behind for a day, to help out with some cast party he was hosting, and that had turned into more than a day or two. or three. “what’s all this about horror movie rules? don’t they say that women can’t have sex or they’ll die? because we’re no longer pure or whatever other patriarchal archaiac bullshit...”

Truthfully, he missed her and the crazy shit they would get into when they were high. James had been cutting back lately, but the thoughts of his dark past became more frequent and he knew he was about to jump back on the wagon full force. There was nobody better to do that with than Madison.  As he heard a knock on the door, James immediately moved to open it, grinning ear to ear at the sight of his favorite blonde.  “I’m really fuckin’ glad it’s you and not one of those Jehovah’s Witnesses who keep harassing me,” he teased, opening the door for her.

sitting on one of the stools around the bench in the kitchen, a cup of hot tea nursed between his hands, eoin felt lost in his thoughts, especially after last night and the recordings he’d heard. he wasn’t sure what to make of this place, and he still hadn’t found his friends — he was worried, had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right. 

still, it was a new day. and all his concerns from last night felt further and further away as the sun rose higher in the sky. he looked up from his phone, and glanced at the woman beside him — she seemed to have appeared from nowhere, he could’ve sworn he was alone a second ago. “the one good thing about reception being patchy here is that i’m not as reliant on my phone, and therefore not loading the us government with ammunition against me. i don’t even know why i brought it with me, i guess it’s a habit. so to the fbi agent monitoring me, i’m having a cup of english breakfast tea without milk this morning. you ever wonder if the person monitoring your phone thinks you’re boring or a massive twat? i want mine to slip up and confirm the moon landing in ‘69 never happened.”
