Some headcanons for next gen OCs

They're headcanons, so you guys @mvjerbs @j3ankimorit4 may veto or accept whichever you guys want to your pleasing.

💠The Silverlock twins, Airin and Connily, are the oldest. One of their earliest chores was to babysit Teddy Shieldblade, once both showed competence to hand the responsibility. 💠Teddy has a crush on Grethyl ever since and when he starts having a better awareness of 'feelings', he usually goes to his pops for tips on how he won over his dad.

💠Aerin (dad) isn't the romantic expert, because he's Aroace but does love Todd at that point. 💠So it's hard for him to actually say whether Todd's giving good romantic advice or not. He's usually the voice of reason, or reminder, and tells Teddy to 'be conscious of how Grethyl would respond to any stunts' he pulls for the sake of making a point that he likes her. Like

"Be sure she'll actually like it, and it's not just 'I think it would be fun if I did this for her.'"

💠When his parents are both busy, Teddy goes to the twins for romantic advice and tips. 💠Nectar and Kyno were born on the same year. 💠Kyno thought Nectar's eyes were golden for a long time and that's why his last name had 'golden' in it, he felt slightly betrayed that they were just contacts. 💠Then he saw Nectar once without contact lenses [because they were expired and needed to be replaced and he was wearing glasses till he got new ones] and he thought it was more beautiful than the stars in the night sky. Basically the time he realized 'Oh, I like him.' 💠Nectar kinda discovered it one day when Kyno had to cancel a meet up because he was sick so Nectar had to spend time with his siblings, the Silverlock twins, and Kyno's brother. 💠Teddy teased him 'You know a surefire way to stay with him even if he's sick is to marry him' 💠When Nectar didn't feel opposed to the idea he was like 'Sure, why not?' then 'Oh, wait that means I... Wait. I like him?' 💠Teddy's first thought was 'protective older brother instincts is triggered' then he remembers Nectar is also Grethyl's brother so he switches to 'Go for it, man!'

Me and muse made a new au. An au where Ballister was killed through execution and Ambrosius is haunted by his ghost, though the ghost is either his hallucination because of his guilt or Ballister's actual spirit. We named this au the mad king and more about this au might be posted in the future :))

I need to stop making Aus and not do anything with them, but Prince Ballister has a hold of my brain, so have some little ideas.

EDIT: forgot to tag @mvjerbs bcs their art caused this

Bal's adopted by the queen during his "breaking-into-the-Institute-bcs-he-wants-to-be-a-knight" thing, and she goes "free baby" and scoops him up.

He has a generally easier time, even if he's a bit disappointed about not being a knight. It's one thing for even the queen to stray from Gloreth's doctrine and allow a commoner to be a knight.

Like, people don't like a commoner becoming heir to the throne, but that's seen as being up to the queen, and the closer relationship protects Bal from people's scorn.

The Director becomes concerned as Bal gets older and more involved in politics, as he starts suggesting stuff like helping the lower classes or anything that affects the status quo, which could put the city (*ahem* the Director) in danger.

The queen had been a bit sheltered from problems in the realm, but takes Bal's advice seriously and starts looking into ways to help people.

I have a couple of ideas as to how he meets Nimona:

Follow canon, somewhat. They meet after the main plot kicks off with Nimona opening Bal's eyes to how much worse the situation is and how corrupt the Institute is etc.

Or, they actually meet when he's younger, and she gives him far more radical ideas as to how they can help the realm.

For the first one, just Bal suggesting they should allow commoners to become knights would be enough to set the Director off, but in the second scenario, Bal could suggest actually trying to explore beyond the walls.

Not sure if I'd have Bal be framed in the second scenario: I feel like they could announce the intention to take down part of the wall ON the wall, and the Director makes it look like someone from outside attacks the royals.

Bal survives, but loses an arm. Thanks to Nimona, he suspects the Director, who demonises him and makes herself regent.

As for Goldenheart, Bal still wanted to learn how to sword fight, so Ambrosius was assigned to be his sparring partner.

Gloreth's descendents also often become royal bodyguards.

This can involve anything from pining over not being able to be together, to saying "fuck it" and doing so behind closed doors.

In the "Bal has known Nimona for years" scenario, Ambrosius knows about her too and agrees that they should help people and explore beyond the walls.

If nothing else, it does give him the opportunity to do something new as Gloreth's descendent.

He still believes in the Institute and doesn't think the Director would hurt anyone, but he also still believes in Bal's plan and doesn't like how he's being treated after the queen is murdered.

So there's some tension going on there as he tries to figure out what he should do.

Again I have put too much thought into this, and I'm not gonna have the attention span/confidence to write a whole fic, but I needed to get it out of my head lol.

Court of Madness

I’m back again with another piece inspired by @mvjerbs’s Mad King Ambrosius piece/AU.

My first piece for this AU

As you can see, this piece includes the Mad King himself and mvjerb’s design for him! He’s a lot scarier in their version, but I think he at least looks mad here. Side profiles aren’t my strong suit but I’m working on it! Also, yes! Ambrosius is slightly taller than Charlotte.

To quote my shower thought from earlier: “Many fear the Mad King and wouldn’t dare defy him. Others numb themselves to his fury. A slim few will stand in his way and walk away with their lives.”

One of those people who can actually confront him on things is, of course, his sister (or half-sister, but I just call them siblings). Although they don’t have the same relationship as they do in my “canon” stories of Charlotte, they’re still undeniably bonded and trust one another. But in this AU, I think they might punch each other in the face if the other one is going out of line. Sibling shit ❤️

I don’t know what the hell Ambrosius is so pissed about, but Charlotte isn’t having any of it. Neither of them are wearing their capes because I wanted to really focus on their body language and that’s more easily achieved if you can see the bodies.

I already have more sketches for pieces for this AU. I’ve never felt so artistically inspired in my life and I’m drawing constantly, so look forward to more stuff!

A close up of the sibs! I’d like to draw attention to the respective gold and silver rings they’re wearing. These are sibling rings that Ambrosius got for them for Charlotte’s 16th birthday. While I think they’re generally colder, they still love each other too much to actually get rid of these or even stop wearing them. I love these two so much, even when they’ve gone mad.

This is just something I thought was funny. I pasted that picture of Ambrosius into my canvas so that I could get a good idea of his side profile, and it ended up looking like Ambrosius was yelling at himself. Sort of symbolic or something.
