okay so my friend @gl1mmar found these oras concept arts from this twitter account... and these beta designs are fascinating! As a huge maxie and archie fan I HAVE to nerd about it.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, as I'm trusting it's credibility, but am still wary of future proof otherwise.

Maxie is a lot closer to his final design than Archie, but for both it's clear a sci-fi magma and pirate aqua theme was in mind for a LONG time. Sci-fi was toned down on Maxie, but Archie ended up pirate-y still, despite DRASTIC changes.

The team aqua base itself is a lot more similar to the magma base in finality, when I believe the concept art would've been so much better! (alas, it was likely toned down for 3ds limitations?)

Their personalities check out in the poses, so they likely had a basic idea of the personality changes to differentiate them better than in RSE, at this point in development...

Maxie's sleeves appear to be flame repellent suit-esque, and be a one piece with gloves. Such a thing suits his team; why scrap it?
