He comes to in a deserted alleyway, the smell of street-fried food wafting from grates an assault on his nose as he blinked himself awake. Bricks walled in around him and he startled, his hands immediately patting himself down. Looking for something, not finding it. Then his bright green eyes darted to the surrounding areas. Squinting at the sun, it's when the chill assaults his skin that he starts to realize something isn't right. Other than the ringing in his ears, making everything sound like it's muffled in cotton.  "Ma kara? Ma kara!" he called, his voice hoarse as he struggled to his feet. Pain lances through him when he shoves his injured hand into the ground to heft himself up, and he grimaces through it. That's how Kitty finds him-drawn by the vaguely-plaintive, native-accented Hebrew echoing out into the street. He's dressed in ripped clothes; a green button-down shirt pinned at the elbow revealing thick-veined arms, faded jeans, heavy boots and a lanyard still around his neck, missing its ID badge. He’s a stranger, rifling through garbage bins and layers of trash methodically with his right hand trapped against his chest to stabilize it.

natasha is hovering with arms crossed by the newsstand in the bookstore, staring at the outrageous albeit true headlines printed across each publication    new stories of anyone and everyone reappearing after thanos’ snap, before she turns to the young woman working a few feet away. gesturing subtly to the mess of construction equipment outside, natasha asks, “has this store stayed open through...all of this?”
