‘Three Lions (Synaesthesia 164)’ 🎵🎨⚽️ My expressive painting created in response to colours I perceived whilst listening to this music by Liverpool band The Lightning Seeds. Acrylic on canvas, 60x60cm. This painting is available through the dot-art Liverpool gallery website (link in bio ⬆️) 👉 and the dot-art gallery in Liverpool city centre has now reopened one day per week (Fridays 10-6) for orders and collections, and for artwork viewings by appointment – good news 😀 . . . #musiccolourpaint https://www.instagram.com/p/CB533QkFv6q/?igshid=1n5x3bigzsamy

Insight January Edition: Kaleidoscope of Colours
Tumblr media
Meet “Kaleidoscope of Colours”, our January artist Insight pick!
What do you do?
I’m Susanne aka Kaleidoscope of Colours.  I’m a synesthete and write music based on the colours I see when I listen to music.
You new album in one sentence:
My new album reminds a bit on an impressionist painting: when you dare to look closer, hues and dots of all kind of colours are revealed and take the listeners on a refreshing journey through Berlins first fallen autumn leaves.
If you were an instrument, what would it be?
Piano!!
Your musical idol(s):
Yann Tiersen, Tina Dico and Tori Amos.
Your latest jam:
Poppy Ackroyd’s “Resolve”.
Your very secret musical guilty pleasure:
“O” from Coldplay’s “Ghost Stories”.
The best part of being a musician is:
That it constantly makes you face yourself with all your fears.
Song you’d wished you’d written:
Tina Dico’s “Count to ten”.
Tell us something about yourself that nobody knows:
I have photographic memory of numbers because of the colours, but I’m definitely not a wiz in maths.
Favorite Lyrics:
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” (Two Roads, Robert Frost)
What inspires you to be creative?
The constant need to express myself and live my inner truth.
What gives you hope?
The moment I see other people discover their tremendous (creative) potential. It always reminds me, that it is already within us, but we tend to block it out because of fear.
Advice to your younger self:
“Be less scared. Everything will be alright.”
Last but not least, music is:
A harmonic connection between all living beings.
