Art And The Album Cover ‘Photography & the Art of the Album Cover’ exhibition at ‘The Photographers' Gallery’ in London plays host a collection of the most legendary album covers shot by photographers. This display features some of the most iconic album covers of our time - and their role in defining music and shaping creators - those both in front of and behind the camera. From the legendary shot of ‘The Beatles’ walking across Abbey Road captured by Iain Macmillan to ‘Nirvana’s' ‘Nevermind’ album cover featuring the (controversial) swimming naked baby shot by Kirk Weddle to pop-art loving ‘Stones’. Art And The Album Cover A new exhibition opening at ‘The Photographers’ Gallery’ in London celebrates the album cover as an art form. Curated and presented in collaboration with collector and exhibition originator, Antoine de Beaupré, whose extensive and impressive collection form the basis of the display. The exhibition’s aim is to shine a light on the role art plays in defining artists and band’s visual and musical aesthetics. ‘For the Record …’ features work by artists and photographers including: Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mappelthorpe, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, David LaChapelle, Ed Ruscha, Nan Goldin and Juergen Teller.
