ranpoe: poe's too absorbed in his obsession with his rivalry with ranpo to realize that hes in love* with him, ranpo is well aware of this and thinks its charming. allows him to continue to try to one up him. he thinks its cute.

mushipoe: dear god the mutual pining is sickening. neither of them have experience with intimacy so they don't know what to do. they also do not have friends (outside of ranpo) to yell at them to do something. mushitaro cannot fathom why poe would want his company and poe doesn't know how to drill it into his skull that he likes him.

mushiran? ranmushi? i dont know ive literally never seen them together alone: mushitaro is too in denial to realize that ranpo asks to spend time with him and sends him on errands because he loves* him. thinks hes just trying to give him something to do. ranpo is fond of mushitaro (and views him as the only other person outside of poe that's worthy of being his equal) and drags him places and shares his sweets with him.

What's interesting about the perfect crime trio is how it feels wrong for Mushitaro to be there. Because honestly, Yokomizo is the one who fits the trio. He's a mystery writer like Poe and he's got Ranpo's carefree attitude. Yokomizo probably would've gotten along with them really well. Meanwhile Mushitaro only joined this trio reluctantly, and he hates mysteries. So it feels like Mushitaro is occupying the space that Yokomizo should have filled but couldn't. The lines "You don't need me anymore." "Of course I do!" are so bittersweet. Mushitaro brings him around wherever he goes, so it's like Yokomizo gets to join the trio too but only from afar. Basically, it's a trio that should've been a quartet

perfect crime trio go to goth night. poe dresses up and convinces mushitaro to let him do his make up. ranpo at the very least dresses in all black but he finds goth night BORING!! so for once its poe dragging ranpo somewhere. even though hes still nervous as all hell (he has not been to this club before). at some point ranpo complains and gets both poe and mushitaro explaining the history of goth in great detail. they also get a bit drunk. and maybe make out a bit.
