Musha dokuro (skull warriors) modern yukata/kimono by RumiRock, perfect for both Japanese summer and Western Halloween season. I love how it's modeled here, with skull just peeking through the hakama slit!

Item of the day: Musha Dokuro
Tumblr media
Today’s item: The Musha Dokuro minifigure from the Gregory Horror Show board game. He is figure number 8/26.
It always confused me that this guy doesn’t have an official English name. All the other characters had their names translated for the English versions of Gregory media, but he’s still called Musha Dokuro everywhere. You might assume it’s because it’s a name that’s hard to translate into English, but no. It translates directly to skull warrior. So why not call him Skull Warrior? Why translate all the other names but not his? We may never know.

They vow allegiance to the strongest thing, but then they turn traitor. Then they search for a new ruler, and suddenly betray them too. This is Musha Dokuro the immortal deserter. When a large number clung to the windows of the train Gregory grumbled, “It’s the season for deserters…”

Is Judgment Boy your favorite character in GHS? Your ask blog makes it seem that way.
Oh no, not at all, i cant stand Judgement Boy in canon. He never was an individual character in canon to begin with depending on how you read it. Judgement Boys, Haniwa, Musha Dokuro, Trap Mice, Dead Bodies, Black Ducks and maybe some I forgot all exist as almost species in the world of GHS. I see them all as filler NPC like video games have them. NPCs that walk the world to make it visibly more lively but are, for the most part, not interactable. But some of them Are interactable. Some you can talk to, others appear in cutscenes, but overall, if you took the Judgement Boys from two different episodes in the show, they'll look the same.
Now. While most of them are just fillers, visual copies of eachother in the eyes of other residents of the GHS world, I Do believe that if someone were to befriend one of those NPC type of characters, the person would start seeing that Haniwa or Musha Dokuro more and more as an individual, visual details will start to become apparent. All Haniwa are dressed like business people, but if you befriend one, you'll see how he never was able to make his tie look neat or that he has two different socks on. You might be able to pick out your Musha Dokuro friend in an army of them because he's taller than anyone else yet always carries a more gentle expression. You might be able to tell apart when a regular Judgement Boy or Judgement Boy Gold is around the corner due to the loud clanking the rails make being different.
Judgement Boy, doesnt matter if in canon or on the ask blog, is Not an individual but a species to me.

Which characters in the hotel would you see having a strong friendship? Personally I can see Gold and Clock Master being good friends. They probably get together once in a while to chat about their respective families and other affluent things.
I am very sorry that it took me so damn long to answer your question, I’ll throw out a couple friendships that I think work:
Gregory and Dr. Fritz: Since older rats are prone to have multiple health problems, I’d like to think that these two became somewhat fast friends throughout multiple health check-ups. Fritz is still super timid and reserved, yet Gregory tends to bring out a slight wild streak within him, even if it is not for the best
Gregory Mama and Catherine: Similar to Gregory and Fritz, these two became good gal pals through first meeting at the clinic. There was something about the way that Gregory Mama presented herself that Catherine just adored, either it being her strong will or her persistence stance on beauty and youth. These two probably get together at least once a week and drink wine and just gossip for hours
Gregory Mama and Fortune Teller Frog: These two gals are the oldest residences of the hotel and probably go way back since the beginning. Gregory Mama’s temper and Fortune Teller Frog’s calm demeanor gives this friendship a stark contrast that somehow works for the best. While when Catherine and Gregory Mama get together to talk, it is usually about the other guests or about some cute guys. However, when Gregory Mama and Fortune Teller Frog get together to talk, it is a simple, yet deep, conversation about past events and often reveals a softer side to Gregory Mama
Gold and Poor Conductor: Being that Gold and majority of the Judgement Boys can sing, I’d like to think that Poor Conductor was immediately drawn to them. While Gold has a refined taste for classical and operatic pieces of music, him and Poor Conductor will often butt heads due to them both having strong personalities. Poor Conductor thinking that he’s hot shit and can both sing and compose like he’s some big shot and pretty much thinking that all are beneath him, while Gold straight up will “judge” him, telling him that he’s not the best of the best and needs to be able to take direction and actually learn how to sing/compose music. Yet they get together from time to time to reflect upon a certain piece or indulge in a conversation about the arts
Others I can see having a strong friendship, but I’m not quite sure why:
- Cactus Gunman and Mummy Papa
- Hell’s Chef and Death
- Lost Doll and Sleepy Sheep
- Neko Zombie and Cactus Girl
- Bonsai Kabuki and Musha Dokuro
If you’ve got another friendship pairing feel free to leave another ask

Musha Dokuro could also have a route considering how devoted he is. He's worse than Cactus Gunman when it comes to unhealthy obsessions with people. Of course, I could see him as just being a nuisance joke character as well. Still, if you wanted a yandere character who wasn't Catherine, I could see him as being viable.
Here’s my hesitation with Musha Dokuro: his lord/princess is the person who killed him last. The player is supposed to be your average Joe/Joanne who stumbles upon the hotel. I don’t want them to kill someone, nor do I see that as being a natural reaction for our faceless player. There’s always killing someone accidentally, of course, but that seems a bit difficult to arrange. I mean, maybe tripping him down some stairs or something...
Here’s something I told another anon: If this game is enough of a hit, I might make a special train edition where you can date more of The Last Train people. Musha Dokuro would definitely be in there. I think for our obsessed friend, he deserves more than just being a joke.
