Day 30 - Une journée sous la pluie à Québec

An diesem Tag wird es in Québec ohne Unterlass den gesamten Tag in Strömen regnen. Für einen Museumstag ja kein Problem, nur dass ich nach 30 Minuten zu Fuß pladdernass im musée de la civilisation in der Altstadt ankomme. Auch nach den drei Stunden, die ich in den Ausstellungen verbringe, erhalte ich meinen Mantel genauso nass wie zuvor aus der Garderobe zurück. Dafür ist dieses Museum wirklich spitze, sehr interaktiv, und die Ausstellungen sind zu ganz aktuellen Themen wie Klimaschutz, Genderidentität und First Nations.

Völlig durchgefroren kämpfe ich mich anschließend durch das Hundswetter zu einem veganen Restaurant für ein spätes Mittagessen.

Für den Abend habe ich eine Theaterkarte besorgt. Zum Glück ist das Theater Le Périscope nur um die Ecke. Mein spärliches Gepäck gibt nicht mehr so viele trockene Kleidungsstücke her. Das Theaterstück spielt im wilden Westen und ist natürlich auf Québecois! Das ist neben dem Regen die heutige challenge. Allerdings ist eine weitere Herausforderung bei mir und augenscheinlich auch weiteren Zuschauer:innen, dass die meisten der sechs Protagonistinnen sich im Laufe der nächsten zwei Stunden bis zum Morgengrauen (Avant l'heure mauve - so der Titel des Stücks) gegenseitig umbringen und der Rest vermutlich durch Soldaten erschossen wird, die sich der Farm nähern. Die schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten finde ich jedoch herausragend, ebenso die Bühne und das Ambiente des kleinen Theaters!

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION An exhibition about doubles is in the works at Musée de la civilisation. From October 24, 2018, to October 27, 2019, the museum will display thirty faces of today, chosen from the photos submitted in this contest, alongside an equal number of ancient works. Greco-Roman antiquities and Egyptian funerary portraits will find their contemporary doubles. Selected participants will be immortalized by Québec art photographer François Brunelle, while the ancient works will be taken from the collections of the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève and the Fondation Gandur pour l’Art.
