like the fact that Wukong was willing capable of showing restraint and mercy but not for him-

Behind her stands the robe figure revealing himself to be cult leader of las illuminados Osmund Saddler. Just like the rest Saddler is now one of Macaque's cronies was he was resurrected by las Erebus to command the las plagas infected to wipe out more of the darkstalkers but rebelled. The reason why he hasn't killed her because of the amount of power she possessed but also a very dirty little secret he has ever since his rebirth.

" What more do you want of me you vile insect? I gave you my people, my most loyal subordinates, my gift of god, everything! "

Macaque chuckles clapping her hands while her sharp appendages moved her body around to face him.

" You should watch your mouth, you know it ain't healthy with all that negativity especially with your little problems... "

" Know? Simple really I can read and communicate with parasites?like las plagas. We're not so different you and I, birds of a feather flock together. Let's get one thing straight here you ugly old waste of space fanatic. "

Saddler's mood had shifted from a calm and intimidating demeanor to desperation and panic upon hearing her what she is going to do with the unknown girl.

" N-no! You wouldn't dare! "

Macaque smiles amused at the expense of saddler's desperation and pleading.

" Awww that's cute, I don't make threats. I made promises and this shall be my gift to you Saddler, you follow my lead she wont be harmed simple as now get out and do your job... "

Saddler immediately left and Macaque as usual begins her expansion of gongsheng soldiers to scour the wasteland that is metro city and find these survivors who know all about Hsien-Ko's whereabouts as the clock is ticking and the excitement has just begun.

He awoke to loud shuffling, blinking groggily as he slowly sat up. "What the hell?" The words were a soft grumble. But he paused, realizing that something—no, SOMEONE was in front of him.

"Hi there, bud." Wukong said, literally standing above him in his bed. In his hand, he contained a large burlap sack.

"WUKONG WHAT THE F—"

His protests became muffled screeches of fury as he was shoved into the sack, the sage easily swinging it over his shoulder and going on his merry way.

Everyone was golden to him except Bone King who was blue with the gold in their chest but that's definitely from how his sight works. The golden eyes of truth were also a power Wukong possessed, allowing them to see through illusions and see demonic presence better." So Macaque knew that the kids powers worked different from hers, if he had to make a guess he would say that Alkebu-Ian's sight allowed her to see things in greater detail then the golden eyes.

"Mk is certainly someone special and it's not just from him being able to wield Wukong's old staff. I never was able to find it after everything that happened yet this kid showed up on the mountain one day with staff in hand, saying a note attached to it told him to bring it here. Then there's the fact he's manifesting Wukong's powers too and he acts a lot like Wukong did in the past, wanting to be strong to protect those he cares about. I don't even need vision like you two have to know there's a good chance the kid's not exactly human but with everything happening now it's not a priority to check it out." There was just too many things brought into the mix to have him believe that the kid was human or at the least fully human. Discovering the truth of that however wasn't a priority now, would it be nice to know how Mk had wukong's powers and not knowing they existed till now yes. But it was something he would just have to let sit in the back of his mind until it was possible to tackle it.

Macaque's attempts to fight them and save wukong were amusing to them, tightening their grip around the other simian's neck. Watching the blood slowly leave the injuries that Macaque has sustained, the fact of them still being conscious and trying to free themselves from their grip was nothing short of impressive. They certainly were living up to the reputation that they had among mortals, pulling the one in question close so that they could speak. "Your efforts to save them amuse me Macaque, you know you do not possess the raw power I do yet you still persist. When you finally accept the hand destiny has given you it will bring me nothing but satisfaction to see the pain on your face. To know all of your efforts were in vain and see your spirit crushed as I bring a new beginning to the world, all while being unable to do a thing to stop it." the voice having the small echo to it as the two voice overlapped one another, a smile coming to their face as they finally let Macaque fall to the ground below.

The sound of the Monkie kid's scream for his mentor being heard as the burst of light emerged from the King's eyes, hitting the warrior in the chest and sent them hurtling towards the ground. watching the ground split apart and break before they began to descend to the ground themselves, watching Mk push Tongbi behind him with the golden staff pointed in their direction.

theory progression on what exactly happened between Wukong and Macaque cause literally one frame from s4 ep1 has shaken my world.

Wukong may not have killed Macaque, but he definitely landed a devastating blow that severely weakened him.

Macaque isn't shown dead in the flashback, even though he frequently references his own non figurative death ("ive had a taste of dying..." "kinda on this whole living streak..." his hanfu folded the wrong way, etc)

instead we get this

He's being sealed or restrained by something, but that part isn't important

What's important is this

He's reaching out for help

and Wukong isn't there. Instead his plea is answered by LBD. It may have factored into his immediate abandonment of the skeleton key. He wasn't reaching out for her, he wasn't reaching out for a partner for vengeance, was reaching out for his best friend.

Wukong didn't kill Macaque, but he certainly left him for dead

which somehow feels more devastating.

Macaque and Jaaku from behind are trying to kill each other over the last donut on the box. Macaque is the first of the palettes who is the NE-B Parasite that somehow have a body of her master, Hsien-Ko. Her clothing and color patterns are an oddish burgundy with whitesh white. Her appendages stomp the ground as she's prepare to devour Jaaku and her chi.

" I'm gonna fucking kill you if you touch that last donut. "

Jaaku, the youngest of the palettes is a half horror and half jiangsho created by Jedah as a perfect weapon against Hsien-Ko and all who opposed him long before the T-Erebus outbreak shockingly and her color palettes on her dress are black and red. She's twirling those twisted sickles together as she too is preparing to make the parasite bleed.

" Hsien-Ko may have mercy but I sure as FUCK I don't you fucking amoeba. "

While that's going the bionic clone of the original Hsien-Ko S.I.N.-KO and Junior are just watching the sky above. S.I.N.-KO like Jaaku is a bionic super weapon made by the BSAA to eliminate Hsien-Ko but she went rogue and start her own path. As usual she is among the more docile of the palettes and her palettes are strange, blue on the sleeves and white and hold yellow on the rest of her clothes. Junior had also become a new pallete herself due to age but despite being a teenager now she still have child like innocence and is thinking about fruit.

Black Myth: Wukong Journal Entries Part 1

Summarizing some of the journal entries that I found interesting because why not fanfic research?? who knows not me

All the journal entires can also be read on the fandom wiki page

Starting with the Mount Huaguo monkeys because I too, am wondering how they were faring after SWK died.

Circus Monkey (chapter 3 New West)

After Mt. Huaguo was destroyed, the Macaque Chief (flying monkey we fight three times in Chapter 3) led a bunch of monkeys away

arrived at Flaming Mountain (chapter 5) but a plague broke out and Macaque Chief asked for the sick monkes to be tossed into a called

This did not like that, so they decided to stop following the Macaque Chief and they wandered around

lived among humans, pretended to be monkey performers, did not make good money, so they decided to rob the audience while performing.

they killed them, stole their things and moved to the next city

The moved tot he New West, heard Macaque Chief is there too but avoiding them because he feels guilty

Tenner (chapter 5 Flaming Mountain)

Centuries ago, Court razed Mt Huago once more

lots of monkey left the home after they heard of SWK death, and because SWK was buddy buddy with the Bull King they decided to go to Mt. Huago

Bull King hated monkeys because of SWK betrayal LOL, but he still gave them shelter and the monkeys were often bullied by other yaoguais

The Flaming Mountain Keeper (dude who had the hots for Princess Iron Fan) treated them with kindness and gave them food and support

Plague struck, monkeys fur fell out and they had sores and boils all over their skin spreading across their back

Macaque Chief casted the infected into the Furnace Valley. Dude said not my circus not my monkeys lol

Keeper came and saved them and cured them. Wings spread from the boils off their back

Keeper taught them how to fly and enlisted them as his minions

first thing they did was purge the Macaque Chief's camp, killed all the other monkeys, only leaving the Chief alive, who then fled to the New West

Macaque Chief (Chapter 3 New West)

Yellobrow helped Macacque Chief retracting his black wings

Macaque was a Chief under SWK

Yellowbrow offers the Macaque Chief to stay and help him rebuild the Thunderclap Temple

My personal thoughts and musings:

based on the entries from Tenner, I guess it's been more than 100 years since SWK died, I recall reading somewhere it was 270 years but I don't remember where I got that number, so if anyone knows let me know. I like that they added information on what happened to the monkeys at Mt. Huaguo. Chapter 6 felt very Unfinished (fitting title) in terms of also environment - there weren't much enemies around beside the court soldiers and bosses to fight. And when I first walked into the waterfalls cave, my first thought was how empty and abandoned it look like. There are stone tables and chairs and peaches scattered around, but it looks very much like no one has been there for a very long time.

Also the Macaque Chief is NOT the six-eared Macaque, he died in JTTW killed by SWK.

So we know that

SWK left the court and buddhahood behind to just chill with his homies

in retalition the Court started killing his monkey kind

SWK killed himself in order to be completely free

the court very likely continued to massacre and raze through Mt. Huaguo

which then led to Macaque Chief leading some other monkeys away to find a new home

When the Old Monkey is telling the stories of SWK and sending out monkeys to retrieve artifacts, we see a bunch of other monkeys holding staffs too (spot the anime protagonist lmfao)

we do not see or find any other monkeys when we arrive at Mt. Huaguo

My theories and headcanons:

Without Sun Wukong's protection, Yaoguai's run rampagne and the monkeys are not able to fully defend themselves

also when we arrive and on our way to the Stone, we get attacked by court soldiers

My theory is that because they know SWK will be reincarnated, and they want to prevent that, they have soldiers stationed there to attack whenever someone triest to obtain all armor parts and reach the Stone with SWK remains

hence also why the monkeys had to leave, because they would get attacked by court soldiers on sight

I don't think ALL of them left, we do still see monkeys at the beginning of the game

Overall when I played through Ch.6 there was a also a strong feeling of excitement of reaching the end of the journey soon, but also sad because it Mt Huaguo just felt so empty. it's supposed to be SWK's home and he wanted to leave buddhahood behind to be with his kin. To me, that already paints an image of mt Huaguo, being a lively and happy place.

I do wonder what is gonna happen next now that SWK is back. I suppose words will go out that the Monkey King is back, and that some of the monkeys will try to return again? I also wonder what the DO was thinking when traveling and having to fight his own kin. Does he know the history of his mountain? Hopefully the DLC will answer some more questions for us

And that's it about the monkeys! I'm still reading the Journal Entries, and will tackle the Tigers from Chapter 2 next!

Glad you asked! I do have a reason for it

With his true form revealed, the six eared macaque becomes timid and withdrawn. He prefers to only speak when addressed, and does so quietly. A stark contrast to his near-perfect imitation of the witty and abrasive monkey king!

This is because he finds comfort in playing the part of someone more confident than himself. He has a knack for theatrics, and really knows how to get into the mind of the ‘characters’ he plays.

Sun Wukong is an especially entertaining muse. Macaque had to perfect more than his personality to properly imitate him.
