I might be overthinking but is it just me but does it seem like Xueyi and Hanya are meant to parallel Serval, Gepard and Lynx in some ways?

Like:

- Younger siblings in supportive roles (Hanya being a Harmony Unit, Gepard being a Preservation Unit and Lynx being an Abundance Unit)

- Older siblings being damage dealers (Serval being an Erudition Unit and Xueyi being a Destruction Unit)

- Both hair colors contrasting one another (Hanya’s silver grey hair and Xueyi’s maroon brown hair vs the Landau siblings blonde hair although the childhood photo depicting the sisters shows them having silver-light blue hair)

- Xueyi and Serval being foils to one another. (Setting appearances aside, both are different in personality, Serval being loud and energetic vs Xueyi’s stoic introverted and dutiful)

- Hanya being a foil to both Gepard and Lynx. (The similarities they share are being quiet and doing their duty without fail in the case of Gepard and Hanya but I find Hanya sharing similarities with Lynx much more than Gepard)

These are the things I can think of right now. If there are more, feel free to add more or at least correct me.

"Uh I don't know enough about you're pets to really get it, but is there anything Serval-chan and I can do to help with it?" Kaban asked with a tilt of the head. Since the redhead's pets weren't really animals as Kaban understood them she was both fascinated and confused by their antics.

"Yeah you can count on us to help out." Serval added with a smile. The previous adventures they'd gone on with Nemi had been pretty fun after all.

"Don't think that one's going to work..." There's a fraught huff as Serval turns away from him, annoyed that the ease with which he speaks delivers odd compliments that make her want to giggle and shove his shoulder with a mutter of fond criticism. Don't be ridiculous, she might say, or you're being foolish, but a smile would sit upon her lips anyway because he made it so. It was that easy around him. No weight of a family name and the knowledge of failing it, no stares of those that once worked with her, no derision of those who watched her fall. Just him and his silly lines and more laughter than she's shared in years.

But there's no laughter now. She's not even smiling.

A gentle palm raises to cradle his face, fingers brushing tenderly against his skin, while keeping his gaze meeting hers. Just now, just for a few seconds she wants to keep him here rather than allowing him to run. To anchor him in this moment for a fraction of a second to sate the worry that has gnawed at her mind since he had turned up at her door with a wound more severe than anything she's seen him have before. She still pictures the crimson dribbling between his fingers and the way he had still smiled at her with that charming visage of his as though it was just his latest trick.

She knows it is him, that this is the deal she has signed up for, but just in this moment she cannot stomach the lightheartedness and needs to ground herself in the reality that she has signed herself up to care for someone who will eventually leave her, willingly or not. It had always been a possibility, he had never blinkered her eyes, for who in Belobog has not heard the reputation of Sampo Koski, particularly her the sister of the captain responsible for public safety.

There she stands hand upon his face, thumb tracing his cheekbone for a second before she lets lids descend over eyes and opens them again, putting her smile back into place. To most it would be a genuine display of emotion, but up close still the gnaw of worry lingers in her gaze even if her lips upturn. But she'll put it to the side for now and instead pat his cheek, slipping fingers away to lean back and shake her head.

"You owe me at least a bouquet before you start spouting those terrible lines, Koski..." There the laughter creeps back into her tone and she places a hand on her hip. "And a restock on my first aid kit, can't have that running dry, especially if you plan on getting yourself into these situations again..."
