I know you arent really present here anymore but do you have any thoughts about the George charity stream situation being brought up and discussed again? I always find your thoughts on subjects really interesting

i think it was the biggest beat up we'd seen in months. george really got the dream treatment for that stream.

at the start of the stream, he immediately started promoting the charity. he'd made it clear that donos were turned off on his stream to encourage ppl to donate to the charity and then, when someone gifted subs at ~5m, that any money from the stream would be going to the charity but that it should be gifted directly to the charity. he then made the joke of 'imagine if all this was going to me, that'd be crazy'.

after that he explained the charity and continued to watch the live donations, realising that his fans were donating so he would see their names. he explicitly said 'i don't want this to be about me, it's not about me but if it means more ppl are donating, sure, put my name in it.'

he then reassured someone who felt bad about not having the money to donate that it was ok bc just by watching his stream and getting ads, they were contributing - again, bc all the money from his stream would be going to the charity.

that's just the first 15m of the stream. i'm not watching the whole stream but you can clearly see that he was doing his best to get donos, had already planned to donate his stream revenue as well, and apart from a somewhat inappropriate joke that he immediately clarified was a joke, was doing nothing even slightly objectionable.

his behaviour during the stream was completely normal and very similar to everyone else. he wasn't being outrageous or inappropriate. he just wasn't. the real judge of that should be technodad and he had no issue with it. he continued to interact in a friendly, joking manner with george throughout and later clarified that he was not offended or upset and stated that he was in fact confused over the whole drama.

similar to ppl weaponising technoblade and technodad's grief to attack dream for uieud, this was ppl virtue signalling and decency policing to go after someone they don't like.

a whole bunch of bullshit. when you're agreeing with nickisnotgreen's shitass takes, you've lost it.

rereading Dungeon Meshi from the beginning and DYING at this little background gag that didn't make it into the anime of Laios looking visibly upset after Chilchuck skips over him when listing everyone's specialties LKDFJGHDFLKJD

amidst the flood of excited screaming over the sudden tonal shift in episode 11 of Dungeon Meshi, I have seen a few anime-only viewers who are a bit... put off by it?? some feeling that they were lied to, or accusing the story of abandoning its premise and feel-good vibes.

all I can say to those people without spoiling things is this: TRUST THE PROCESS. this tonal shift didn't come out of nowhere, and it wasn't put in merely for shock value. Dungeon Meshi is a carefully crafted work with themes that carry from its opening moments all the way through to its conclusion. as the story unfolds, those themes are expanded upon and explored in truly remarkable and unexpected ways. it is, when viewed in its entirety, one of the most cohesive and beautifully told narratives in the anime/manga space.

as for those feel-good vibes?? they never truly leave, in fact imho they only grow stronger as the story progresses in spite of its increasingly dark moments. and there WILL be dark moments. man oh man, y'all have seen NOTHING yet. but again: TRUST THE PROCESS. believe in these characters, in their tenacity, in their love for each other. no matter how dire things get, believe that there will always be a warm campfire and a delicious meal waiting for them at the end.

so bunnies, hares and pikas are scientifically referred to as "lagomorphs" and. idk. I just love that. I love that these adorable little critters are named like flesh-hungry aliens from a sci-fi horror movie. it suits them ☺️

soooo today was kinda crazy!! I don't talk about my love of trains very much publicly, but today I finally got the opportunity to see my all-time favorite train since childhood, the absolutely MONSTROUS Union Pacific "Big Boy" No. 4014, in person for the very first time!!! 😭🙏💗

JUST LISTEN TO THIS BEAST ROAR, HOLY SHIT... I'm completely shook, literally worth every moment of the two hour drive to get there

you know, it's funny. for as long as I've been a fan of anime and manga, Dungeon Meshi might actually be the very first time I've gone into an anime adaption having fully consumed the original work beforehand. the feeling of watching something you love come to life before your eyes, and watching it be done so beautifully, is something I've never experienced until now, at least within this very specific space. like... it's amazing. and surreal. I'm so excited for what's coming.

had a dream about a Shin Godzilla sequel in which Godzilla was inexplicably wearing pants. no one addressed it and it changed literally nothing about the tone of the film. the weirdest part is the pants regenerated along with his flesh when injured.

The Iron Giant (1999) is absolutely one of my favorite movies ever, but every time I watch it I'm reminded of the fact that when it came out I was literally trying to convince the other kids at school that *I* made it. I was seven years old 😭

like imagine some random kid coming up to you while you're watching or talking about The Iron Giant and being like "yeah *I* made that movie. in case you didn't know" ASDJKLFGH. obviously that phase of my life did NOT last long but. LMAO

getting to the end of Jacob Geller's newest video and seeing both Tahu Mata AND Tahu Nuva sitting on a shelf in the background seriously sent my autistic ass into overdrive.

talked about this last night on the bird app but it just happened again so. omg. it kills me (in a good way) how every night I'll go to feed Alida her nightly pellets and she'll get SO EXCITED that she just. shoves her whole entire face directly into the bowl before I've even finished pouring. so I end up dumping food all over her big fat bunny head

just had a dream I was watching one of those poorly-animated Finding Nemo ripoffs you find in the bargain bin at Walmart?? there was this normie-ass dude fish and a super objectified lady fish standing on the surface of the water on their tailfins (???) while looking out towards the sunset.

the lady fish turned to the dude fish and went "I'm looking for something physical :)"

the dude fish smiled at her but it was weirdly melancholic, then the camera panned around the couple to reveal that the sun had gone supernova (!!!!!!). the two fish held hands/fins/whatever as they were engulfed in cosmic flames

the scene cut to black before eventually fading to a wide shot of outer space. an object slowly drifted into frame - a fish skewer with two perfectly-grilled fish on it, fins touching. the camera held on the skewer for a time before it began to float away into the eternal void, growing small and smaller while "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion played in the background

a lot of people say they do their best thinking in the shower but my shower thoughts are rarely ever notable, it's always just random shit like "Columbo would be a good name for an elephant"
