Thank you HappyEle and Akira, the fine event made me feel so many things. I'm looking forward to be able to read it thoroughly and think about it more. But for now:
I loved that Tori was even more adamant about the other fine members not to treat him like he's a fragile being who can't hear unpleasant things because it makes him feel like they leave him out. This isn't the first time (look at Primavera for example), but he was really upset this time. But it fueled him to show them. And I loved how he said to Wataru that he wants to be like them because loves them (fine). They've come so far from Flower Fes. <3
And Wataru, oh Wataru. I feel really sad that people turned their backs on him even on theater course. He really was alone and drifting before the War. And then, his thoughts on negative emotions... It's okay to focus on positive things but man, he's bottling them up too much. Stop with the toxic positivity! Let yourself feel them, Wataru. He also wanted to be help Tori grow and even though he ended up adding to Tori's hardship in a way he didn't mean to, it was fine in the end. And it made him face some of those negative emotions but Tori told him he'll be there to listen. Yes, Wataru, Tori and the rest of fine will support you too! I will probably have more thoughts when I read the whole thing. But just... waaah, there were quite many sad things. Wataru, I hope you'll be okay, trust your friends. <3
I also was thinking how this is a second recent event where people tell someone to be NOT like Eichi. Natsume in Altered and Tori in this story. And yeah, it's a solid advice, we don't need Natsume to repeat War or Tori being as willing to throw people under bus for the sake of efficiency (and it's good for him to realize Eichi is also just a flawed human like all of them). But how Eichi said again that he dislikes himself... that made me sad. How everyone, himself included, often focus on his mistakes etc. I know it's hard, but try to love yourself a little more, Eichi. <3
Yuzuru... He had very much a supporting role here but I hope he'll soon get a really good story. They hinted about his family a few times, maybe a story relating to that? He also provided Yuzuru funnies with being a little murderous, haha. Yuzuru is the steady presence they need. Give Yuzuru more love. <3
And all the little fun and sweet things, Wataru eating with Yuzuru and Tori, Eichi writing messages and emails like an old man, Yuzuru eating seafood flavoured ice cream, Eichi assuring Wataru there's nothing besides friendship between him and Amano, Tori and Shinobu talk... and probably more that were not mentioned yet. The first part sure made me, and many others, nervous but part two gave context and wonderful things, even if some of them were sad. Sometimes life is sad. But they have each other, they tell that to each other again and again, so guys, please remember that.

Hello I’m tasting a lack of Endless Coda-verse fics.
I’m unironically so invested in this April Fools universe, I almost (ALMOST) want an anime of it over Element. I want to consume any media of it and watch Eichi’s direct body count skyrocket in a world where he’s allowed to kill people at his own leisure. I want real, physical consequences to everyone’s words and actions and for the station to look like Danganronpa.
That said, I’m back on my shit, I come bearing a fic idea that I’ll never write. As ever, feel free to take it and use it as you please.
Warnings: Endless Coda story spoilers, leans into immoral villain Eichi, death death death death, manipulation and the like, the dove isn’t dead but it might need a bandaid.
I’m thinking more War Era w the Eccentrics since Shu mentioned 5 Eccentrics, leaning into the first anime’s version of Eichi’s obsession.
Setting likely another older space station, the Yumenosaki if you would. Doubles as an idol academy and a mecha pilot academy.
It follows the War closely at first what w the abysmal condition of the school and student body. Rei is in charge-ish and the clubs still exist, the DreFes fighting hasn’t become popular yet.
Officially the only mecha are one per established group for their leaders (Ryuuseitai’s Madara and Valkyrie’s Shu), the council leader (Rei), and personal ones for individual’s with the money to spend on it (Hokuto, Subaru, Ritsu, Kanata, Eichi, etc).
Once the Eccentrics are established by Eichi, Wataru and Natsume both receive their own mecha. Then, once units are being formed (ex-fine, Knights, AKATSUKI) they supply/are supplied mecha per member.
Eichi’s body count just skyrockets from the get-go. The mecha fight DreFes let him get away with outright murder + the s//c/d/ rates caused by the stress he puts on the students. Look at him, the little go-getter- murdering his way to martyrdom /ref.
And obv there’s the cloning thing. And the implanted memories into the clones. Technically that overrules Eichi being ill but he would have had to be dying at least a little bit when it was discovered.
The plot gets funny once the Eccentrics are formed, pov probably always one of them w smaller chapters for people affected by the war (Nagisa, Hiyori, Tsumugi Aoba, Hokuto, Mika, etc).
The bullying and social isolation all still happen but it’s decidedly worse in Coda-verse since killing and maiming is okay apparently. What happens is that, just like with THAT Valkyrie performance, some if fine’s fans go the extra mile to try and decommission the Eccentrics entirely through attacking them. Eichi never lets it get far and always arranges for something to interrupt so that the targeted Eccentric is always just hurt enough that they can push through it and appear as amazing as ever.
The Valkyrie loss goes more or less the same. It wasn’t a DreFes so there wasn’t any fighting, the audio gets cut, and Shu has his mental breakdown.
Rei’s incidents also are the same, he gets sent to other space station academies to fix issues that people ask him to help with.
Eventually one of these attempts get a little too far w Kanata, happening a little while after Shu’s public humiliation. Someone tries drowning him (the endless puka puka) and nothing stops them this time, thankfully someone else finds Kanata in time to resuscitate him. It can be Mama, Kaoru, or Souma, they’re all valid options for this.
The next time the older Eccentrics meet after that incident, they decide that now is the time to squirrel Natsume away for his own sake. Unfortunately, that means that the number of targets lowered from five to three (occasionally two) and the bullying just gets that much worse.
Eventually comes time for Wataru and Hokuto versus fine (and this is where things get really canon divergent-y). Because that one is a DreFes, they will be fighting in mecha for a 2 v 4. Obviously the odds are against them.
Beforehand, Wataru does say goodbye to the Eccentrics because, just like normal, he knows he can’t win- both because he literally cannot as it’s a losing fight and because that’s what the script calls for, a dramatic climax for the ages. First is Kanata, then Rei and Natsume (the scene in which Natsume tries to give Wataru a different script to save himself). He doesn’t, however, get to say goodbye to Shu who was locked inside of his room.
What’s happening with Shu is one of Eichi’s schemes. I haven’t thought of the reasoning, maybe Shu had recovered himself just enough to still slander Eichi and he decided that just won’t do. So, capitalizing off the fact that Shu has been taking to hiding in his room and locking the door, Eichi has someone (a fan, maybe Tsumugi Aoba, or Eichi himself) lock it from the outside w admin codes so he can’t get out. After all, what could be more crushing than watching your friend get executed right in front of you with no escape?
This is going by a HC I have for DreFes in general both in and out of Coda-verse in which (at Yumenosaki) you can’t change a screen connected to the school’s internet off from the current on-going DreFes. More specific to Coda-verse but I imagine there are cameras in the cockpits of the mecha, just like the obligatory shots of the pilots screaming when something pokes the mecha (I’ve never understood this, the robot’s leg got cut off not yours).
So, with Shu locked in his room and incapable of finding any comfort and with Natsume + Rei watching the fight firsthand (god knows where Kanata is), the DreFes begins. It’s a losing fight for Wataru from the get-go, even moreso because he’s going out of his way to protect Hokuto as needed. Eventually, Eichi or Tsumugi Aoba manage to damage Wataru’s mecha enough that it can’t move, making them the victors of the DreFes. Most of the feeds take an intermission break at this point except for Shu’s.
See, while Eichi’s plot to break Shu more was working to plan, his idea to make to make sure that the feed showed him every moment of the execution did backfire somewhat. Whether or not Shu knows it, he’s the only one to witness Wataru being removed from his mecha unconscious (or dead) after losing before it can be returned to the docking bay for him to be taken to medical if needed.
If he did die inside the mecha, I assume that the usual camera feed automatically cuts off if there’s damage to the cockpit that would harm the pilot since it would ruin the image of Yumenosaki.
So, since Wataru isn’t in the cockpit anymore when the people in docking bay try to get him to come out, they assume as first he’s a sore loser (because blah blah blah slander the Eccentrics), then (while fine’s live is going on) they finally think to check on him in the case he’s unconscious, and obviously when they open the cockpit he’s not there anymore. They assume he ran away.
From there, fine has their final performance and disbands. The Eccentrics are going through it.
Eichi only announces that Wataru passed away the following day due to a gas leak in his Mecca’s cockpit caused by a fuel line rupturing during the DreFes. Natsume is inconsolable and that’s important because of his eventual reconciliation with Tsumugi Aoba.
When Tsumugi attempts to apologize to Natsume and all that (the burning stuff behind the school scene I think), he mentions he can’t forgive someone who helped kill Wataru. Tsumugi drops the bomb that Wataru isn’t dead and is generally confused as to why Natsume thought that he would be. According to Tsumugi, he’s seen Wataru in the council room a few times since the DreFes.
Natsume gets the other Eccentrics (including Shu), much to their dismay that he has left hiding when the tensions have yet to settle. They’re a lot more understanding once he tells them about what Tsumugi has said. They decide to go straight to the council room to confront Eichi and ‘rescue’ Wataru.
They’re both there when the Eccentrics reach them. Wataru is happy to see them but not happy in the sense one would be to see a rescuer and more in the way of seeing a friend. He’s acting like nothing had happened out of the DreFes and a lot more familiar with Eichi than he was before (more like main !-era interactions). The Eccentrics get the sense that something is wrong but Eichi assures them that this is exactly what Wataru had wanted (which he affirms). When asked about telling everyone that Wataru had died, he explains that Wataru was hurt badly and had requested he be disappeared from the stage for a little while to recuperate. (He doesn’t look injured though)
I can’t be bothered to write more but eventually after the Eccentrics leave that little meeting, they splinter more. At some point one of them decides that they can’t just hide by Wataru acting so unusually even for him, they end up finding proof that Wataru was taken out of his mecha, they eventually find more clues to connect the dots, find out that Wataru had died during the DreFes but was replaced by a successful clone of him who lacks the precise memories of the DreFes itself and the animosity it should feel for Eichi, and all the Eccentrics die when they go to confront Eichi. Epilogue is one of them waking up from ‘hibernation,’ implying that they’ve been cloned themselves.

I'm very amused with the thought that, hypothetically, if Eichi were to ever make Wataru sad (in a way that's could've been avoided) and Wataru were to vent about it to his oddball friends there is a chance existing that Shu would be at Eichis dorm door with an object that could be used as a murder weapon and he has to be held back by like two people so he doesn't run in the door and commit first degree homicide because a) how dare that stuck up wench make his best friend cry the least that horrible horrible man can do for Wataru is to make him happy until the day he bites the dust and b) he's been waiting for an excuse to do that for two years now

👏 + Anzu and either Hajime, Eichi or Tori?
relationships of the producer: accepting
Hajime:
Anzu is convinced that Hajime is a great kid, she’d never fail to jump to his defence, if anyone for some reason ( it’s near unthinkable to her ) is rude or hurts his feelings? She’ll not only assure him of his kindness, his abilities and how much everyone cares about him, but he also gets to watch her roll up her sleeves and punch someone twice her size square in the jaw. The things she’ll do for him? Limitless. Hajime? Horrified. Hotel? Trivago.
When she gets free time, she’ll send him a text with an offer to hang out, she’ll take him wherever he likes and will buy him things even if he tells her it’s not necessary since she’s just so used to paying for everything to begin with, which when she makes that comment, makes him incredibly confused. Why is she the one who buys everything for everyone in her house? Well, either way, he hopes she doesn’t spend too much on him- not that she’d care if she did.
Sewing buddies, sewing buddies, sewing buddies! It’s not always guaranteed that they’d be working on a project at the same time, but when they are, they sit together, talking about their days or their projects with each other as they work, it makes the time pass by faster and they can give each other their opinions as if one looks at something long enough, certain things can pass their usually keen vision and they want to make sure they’re great.
She occasionally helps him out with his costumes, make up or hair when Nazuna is too busy and they’re going on stage soon, as it’s one of her jobs, but he’s probably the only one who’d be able to convince her to let him try the reverse, after all- Hajime wouldn’t willingly tug out all the tangles in her hair by force, right?
Anzu’s physically affectionate with Hajime, seeing it as another form of validation, hugs, head pats, playing with his hair and taking his hand if they cross the street are all things she does for him- she wants him to know she’s always there for him, or if he did a good job, and she knows she can lay the praise on rather thickly.
Eichi:
Eichi recognises that Anzu has worked herself into the hospital before and while he gets it because he’s always pushing himself past his limits, he does try to remind her to proceed with caution- but she always replies with telling him to do the same so he’s never really going to win that argument, when he has more at risk.
Anzu and Eichi both make jokes about dark subjects but they both try to ignore when the other one does it since while they’re used to joking about their deaths ( Anzu’s from murder, Eichi’s due to his condition ) but they’re not so used to other people doing it. Eventually they manage awkward chuckles in response, but that’s the most they can do.
Sometimes she forgets he is in fact, filthy rich, because she’s around him so often that she just sort of associates him like she would anyone else in school- but then he mentions his limo or something and he just sees her look genuinely confused for a couple of seconds before she remembers. He thinks it’s funny that she just...keeps forgetting? Like, Anzu he’s shown how rich he is multiple times, how do you keep forgetting?
“Well, wouldn’t Ibara stop being an issue if we just bit him?” “Kobayashi-san, as much as I find that idea hilarious, we cannot afford either of us getting an infection from his venom.” “Damn, you’re right.” and comments like that are common between the two and then they go back to what they were doing like nothing happened? How.
Anzu has had to carry his passed out body to the infirmary a couple of times so that he has somewhere better to rest while waiting for an ambulance to arrive, he tried to make a sneaky comment about how she must have been embarrassed but she went “Projecting much, senpai?” and he didn’t know how to respond. He was literally unconscious, how could he be embarrassed-
Tori:
She feels uncomfortable when he offers to buy her anything, even as a present so she simply requests more work if he asked her if she wanted anything and while she has nowhere near as much money as Tori, she’ll occasionally buy things to make him snacks as she’s far more comfortable giving him things than receiving them.
She’s so proud of his growth and development as both an idol and a person, he’s becoming more independent and that’s a great trait to have but she cannot stop herself from spoiling him at least a little because she just can’t help being affectionate, especially since Tori seems to like it too. She does praise him when he does things by himself to encourage this behaviour, though.
Tori refuses to let anyone mess with Anzu, even if he finds them scary ( as the radio drama proves ) but he’s actually pretty surprised to find the sentiment is mutual, she’ll scold others or physically drag them away if they insult him or prod a bit too long in the case of a classmate of his or another Yumenosaki student. He rarely sees firm Anzu, but he thinks it’s nice of her to defend him.
He once took a sip out of her cup by accident and gagged, ever since then he wonders how she can drink such horrible combinations?! Are humans even able to drink those things? It tastes like battery acid! So, he tries to offer her regular drinks like can of cola in hopes that she won’t down those horrible combinations again.
Tori can hug her any time, any where, even if it’s sudden and startles her or she has a mountain of paper work in her arms that he made topple over- and she won’t be mad at all, she doesn’t understand how, because all her files are on the floor, she should be furious- but she’s not, instead she’s doting on him.

👫 - with Eichi, Hajime or Adonis?
Relationship headcanons: accepting
Eichi:
While at first, Anzu wasn’t very fond of Eichi, it wasn’t actually because of him as a person, rather because he reminded her of her past in a terrible way but as she grew closer to him and worked with the emperor more and more, she became fonder of him and it shows in how she’ll go along with his whims from time to time, especially if it’s particularly amusing; they occasionally team up now, if only to tease Keito. Keito hates this team up, muttering how cursed it is, but Anzu and Eichi are too amused by his reactions to care.
Anzu’s both amused and confused by his confusion to things that aren’t exactly high class- she at first thought he was joking with her, but upon seeing how genuinely shocking he finds something like a hamburger and his childlike wonder towards them- she knows it’s not a joke. She tries her best to teach him what things are when he asks but she secretly thinks he reminds her of a princess from a movie when they have to swap roles with a commoner. She doesn’t express this fact to him, so she can keep living.
Normally, Anzu finds dark humour rather amusing but when Eichi jokes about his own demise, she becomes very nervous and lets out a awkward chuckle at most- she finds it hard to hear him joke about it, because he’s actually at risk of hospitalisation by simply moving around too much- she cannot and will not be able to laugh genuinely at a joke like that when there’s such a strong element of truth to it. Although when she jokes about wanting to perish after hearing a particularly bad pun, he doesn’t seem to find it funny either.
Eichi finds it hilarious that on the rare times they hang out, Anzu insists on paying for their food- he’s very wealthy and Anzu isn’t particularly rich or anything, and yet she always insists on doing so and even threatens to fight him if he brings out his wallet. He can’t understand her, but it’s amusing regardless so he simply lets her do it, unless he takes her to a business dinner, because there’s no way she’d be able to afford it. She’ll still be sulky over it regardless, however, as she doesn’t want him paying for her things.
Hajime:
Hajime is her son, her child, her boy. She’s so soft on him that she’d let him get away with murder if he committed it, he’s just so sweet and compassionate that she simply cannot leave him alone. She doesn’t think of him as someone frail however, and recognises his growth, as well as his strength as a person, but she still simply cannot stop herself from babying him. Maybe it’s because he’s the eldest of his own family, and sees her akin to a sister, but she cannot help herself.
Someone watching them hanging out with each other, simply sewing or eating/cooking together would get the idea that the two of them are siblings of sorts, so it’s not uncommon for strangers to mistake them as such, especially upon seeing them during their outings. Anzu thinks it’s fun and will occasionally pull him in for a hug and say she’d love to have a little brother like him. Rip Takehiro. Replaced by Hajime.
They’re both much stronger than they look, so even though they don’t resort to it often, if someone pushed the right buttons, they could both easily make them regret it. This isn’t very likely to happen but if someone hurt Anzu, or Hajime ( they’d have to be a monster to do so and would deserve what was coming to them ) the other one would have no issues getting a little violent, even if the injured one tells them that they’re fine and not to.
“Have you seen Hajime?” Anzu asks, running through the halls of Yumenosaki. “Is he missing?” Someone asks, concerned. “No, I just wanted you to see how cute he is.” - aka the love mail is very strong with these two, she simply cannot contain it. If Hajime ever feels upset, she will not and cannot shut up about everything she likes about him just to see him smile. She wants him to know how important he is to her and others.
Adonis:
Adonis and Anzu share a class which means they see each other pretty often, and unlike some other idols, he can make sure she’s eating properly because it’s not uncommon for him to offer her food and he’s around her so much. It’s easier for both of them to take care of each other, because of how often they see each other. It makes them both fairly good at picking up on when the other one isn’t feeling well or in Adonis’ case, when Anzu isn’t looking after herself.
Anzu doesn’t think she’ll be able to handle it when Adonis throws her away, as while she’s been able to come to terms that everyone ‘will’ at some point throw her away- but thinking about Adonis doing it seems wrong and it really does hurt her to think about it. So, when the “due day” when she’s no longer useful to anyone comes, she hopes Adonis isn’t around to see it.
Anzu and Adonis have been noted to get along really well by other members of UNDEAD and Anzu’s very pleased to hear that it’s mutual, she really admires Adonis and whenever he asks her for help, she’ll do her best to do what she can for him. Adonis is simply very comfortable for her to be around.
Adonis sees Anzu as pretty weak at least in comparison to him, which she doesn’t really appreciate, but it’s true- so she has been working harder to build up her strength, even if she does forget to eat sometimes. Adonis however, does try to help her train so she has a healthier schedule than the one she’s currently operating on.
