The body hit the floor, and Seth didn’t feel anything other than pure rage and grief.
His son was dead. His son was dead.
All because of one, evil creature. A being he knew not the name of, but it was not an alternate, he knew that for true.
Its fire-like wings spread wide as it stepped towards the man, over its rapidly cooling kill. Unceremoniously announcing that it did not see Cesar as a being, just an obstacle.
The mere insinuation fueled the human’s rage, and Seth sprinted towards the being, full intent to kill.
Tackling it to the ground, he went to punch but stopped as it stared at him, eyes glowing bright white filled with knowledge and processes he couldn’t even dream of. It was alluring, entrancing, and he leaned closer.
Before snapping the things wing to the side, the sound of it breaking more like shattered glass than snapping bone.
It let out a screech at the movement, knocking Seth away into a tree with just its yell.
Efficiently, the man rose and ran forward once more, now with gun in hand.
He fired at its knee, arm and head, though only the first two hit their mark.
Angered wails of the heavenly and the damned combined into a twisted spiral; scratches and tears in his muscle made themselves known on Seth’s body, but he did not care.
Swinging an elbow, green ichor splashed onto its surface as the creature's face caved in from impact.
Taking his chance, Seth aimed and fired.
A noise that couldn’t be described rang through the fall air, alongside the brightest light imaginable- more bright than any sapient being could ever dream up- before the thump of glass hitting dirt came from before the human.
The body of a being neither human nor alternate lay still, and Seth collapsed.
Blood and tears mixed awfully as he painfully dragged himself through the mud and twigs, towards the other blurring corpse. Towards Cesar.
Laying next to his son, Seth felt feeling itself leave him as everything went numb, life liquid pouring from the wounds he had endured in all of his short and mortal life. Physical and mental, he bled onto the forest floor.
With a final breath, three bodies lay.
With no breath, a shattered corpse pieced itself back together.
With a breath of life, two bodies lay.
- murder anon :)
