I unlocked Luke in Duel Links!
Luke: Yuga! Yuga: What is it, Luke? Luke: I wanna become the King of Duels! But Yuga...You're the one who created Rush Duels. Yuga: Yeah. Luke: That means you're the one who's closest to crowning the crown. Yuga: I'm not sure that's what it means. Luke: Yuga...If you do become the King of Duels... Yuga: Yeah? Luke: Then...You'll give the crown to me, right bro? Yuga: Hmm...I'll...I'll.......... Luke: *gulp* Yuga: ...not do that. Luke: Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Yuga: However! Everyone has the opportunity to become the King! Including you, Luke! Luke: !? Including me... .......I get it now. If there's a highway to the throne, I gotta walk it on my own! Instead of taking your crown, I just have to crown myself! And I'll do so with this monster! Seven stars collide to burst into a supernova! You're not ready for this! You're so not ready for this! Rise into the light, Multistrike Dragon Dragias! My mind's set, Yuga! I'm gonna become the King of Duels! I'm so gonna become the King of Duels! Using my own strength and skills! Yuga: Yeah! Luke: But ya know...What's the process of becoming the King of Duels anyway? Yuga: Umm...Oh! I heard they hold tournaments here to see who's the best in the world. If you win that, you can become the King of Duels. Luke: If I become the King of Duels, that means I become the King of Duels! Here I goooooooo! I'm running on my highway to glory! Yuga: Wait, Luke! You're running on the wrong highway! The PVP Arena is over there!

[Image Description: A screenshot of the video game Octopath Traveler 2 depicting a boss fight against General Ritsu, a warrior armed with a sword. ALRIGHT HERE WE GO!
#i dont care im looking up his weaknesses.#i made agnea a cleric beforehand because i remembered he's weak to light but if he has another elemental weakness#i need either need her in scholar with Advanced Magic to get multistrikes in past the fear status#or apothecary to Rehabilitate with her latent power

I like how right after complaining about how Taunt trivializes practically every Archangel fight, Babelith and Lamento Mori come around and actually have options that make it not so much worth using. Still didn't make them THAT much more threatening, but it was SOMETHING. If you'd made some of the Archangels immune to Berserk status--SOME, just so that there's variety--that would have gone a long way. Yes, I know about the difficulty sliders, but as far as I know, that doesn't change their movesets or stat parameters at all, just their intelligence and level scaling.
There's other factors in play here, though. One is that you can have some really busted stickers mid-late game combined with how weaker cures don't use up your turns. The other is, for the most part, they're the only targets in their battles. Poppetox had his effigies, and Mammon and Nowhere Monarch had Call For Help, sure, but Call For Help can be disabled. Mammon especially is egregious because he had a bunch of Landkeepers right there and none of them were a default battle condition??? Imagine if there were two weaker monsters at the start of the fight and he had a passive that automatically called for allies if a couple turns passed with less than two allies on his side. That would have made things a lot more interesting! Kind of like a harder version of Nowhere Monarch that relied on brute force rather than disruption. Something that made you be more smart about how you used walls.
This is why the Ranger Captains put up more of a fight: not only do they always have allies at the start, but their strategies are specialized and optimized to the point that Taunt and walls alone won't be enough to circumvent them. You need to hit them with bigger numbers and do more to directly counter their strategies. Using Ionised Air to punish Lodestein's entire squad for using their Lightning-type attacks was one of the sickest things I felt I could have done.
The most sick being against a Rogue Fusion, then fusing myself and using Whirlwind Meteor with Multistrike active, then having AP Refund activate so it was used twice on the same turn, but that's beside the point. 8'D

Pokémon x Fire Emblem is a thing that has been in my head (somewhere) for a while.
I want to flesh this idea out a bit.
First is which game's mechanics do we choose? Obviously fire emblem, as fire emblem characters in a pokémon setting doesn't work unlike the vise versa.
But how do we adapt pokémon mechanics into it? Besides the polémon being the units of course.
Weapons coulde be attacks and instead of the weapon triangle it's pokémon's type chart, and units have types instead of accounting for the weapon's type. Also assist skills are moves too.
For example: if an Infernape was hit by a water move from Samurott. If Infernape's active move was grass knot it would hit back for super effective damage, but still taking super effective damage.
Two turn moves: negative priority, so it isn't just dogshit.
Held items: units have inventory space of course, but moves do not take up any like spells in three houses.
Consumable items like sitrus berry: activate mid battle. So if the enemy was knocked into sitrus range it would heal up before your follow-up attack like how it would with multistrike moves in pokémon. Speaking of which...
Multistrike moves: attack twice (2 Strikes to 4 and 1 to 2).
Passive Items like leftovers: activate after combat, like how it activates after the turn.
Terrain and weather: terrain acts similar to devine veins. Weather is across the whole field.
Priority: weapons(moves) will have + or - priority up to 7 like in pokémon (no move has +6 or +7 as of gen 9, hopefully it stays this way). Higher priority make you move first even if they initiate combat. Vise versa for lower priority. And positive priority move on a psychic terrain space aren't usable.
Recoil: activates after combat, like fury.
Set up moves: gives bonus in stat(s) for this enemy phase, and the next player phase.
Range: physical=1 special=2 exceptions apply.
Statuses: Paralysis, unit can move half as many spaces. Poison and burn damage after combat for the same 1/8 and 1/16 respectively. Burn and paralysis still halves attack and speed respectively. Sleep and freeze don't exist fuck these statuses. Frostbite, literally just burn but cuts special attack (please add it to the main series gamefreak).
Entry hazards: act like damage tiles, dealing damage after the turn.
Protect: uses unit's turn and protects from being engaged in combat.
Existing things that basically just get a name change:
Sing/dance>could change pokémon's sing, also instruct
Heal>recover
Reconcile>life dew
Physic>heal pulse
Swap>ally switch
Shove, pivot, smite, reposition, and draw back>I have no idea
Rally>helping hand but doubles damage like in pokémon and not other effects

Well with the loaded dice cashmere will effectively have two of they're three abilities.
Skill Link? Yeah, I guess. Haven't ever really tried teaching Cash multistrike moves though. Could be useful maybe, though.

Alternative prizes for the winner of the Galaxy Cup instead of the complete set of "Mr. Universe": from Yuna and Goha Company: a super rare card print (let's say a card like Fusion, good in most decks). from Asaka and Mutsuba Heavy Machinery/town: a model of the winner's ace card or any card of their choice, (like the Multistrike Dragon Dragias and Sevensgias the Magical Dragon Knight we saw in 62) they can even make it in real size! from Phas-san and MIK: MIK plushies! well, I don't know what they can give.... money maybe?

Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens
Finally sat down to watch the whole thing, many disjointed thoughts below the cut.
TL;DR: sevens good.
Yuuga: Much like the last protag to wear a red jacket with a white neckpiece, Judai, there is something wrong with this kid. He's too okay with everything. He's the goddamn player character of pokemon SunMoon who never gets an emotion showing in cutscene on his model-
(and unlike judai, afaik, he never had electroshock memory wipes done to him before)
He's great. He gives no shits. He took a job at a major corporation that owns the town he lives in and everything in it, as an elementary schooler, bc hacking them was too annoying and it was easier to have them hand over the credentials so he could mess with their shit, while also being a head or more shorter than like everyone else in the show. I want to study him like a (lady)bug.
Luke: Yuuga's name is on the title(-ish), but this guy is the actual Hero of sevens. The actual Hero of sevens. It's important, so I said it twice. He's a bratty elementary schooler who I can't even call a chuuni because of how young he is, but he has the heart where it matters. And multistrike dragons. ALL the multistrike dragons.
Romin: The seven-colored light of redemption, though I feel bad about opening this not about anything about her so much as "first decent yugioh girl"... First decent yugioh girl. She's not nerfed, worfed, or shoved aside partway through the series, being a competent duelist with a sensible win/lose ratio like any other side character from previous series.
Her arc about embracing selfishness, finding new dreams, and never giving up on anything she wants are so good. And now with Tiger in the family to teach her martial arts, she will never stop.
Gakuto: were it not for the VA segments at the end of episodes I would never notice he's Nekobot Hanae. What do you mean goddamn Gakuting is Riddle Rosehearts. It makes perfect sense yet GAKUTING also makes me want to die every single time. Not as much as the translators probably want to do every time he opens his punny mouth, but close.
Roa/Nail: Spiky and Fluffy. Band Kid and Nerd. The first two main bosses and a genuine delight every time they take the screen. I am forcing them to share a list spot just like they were forced to share seats during the tournament arc. While I can't put them in a jar to shake, I'll settle for maining their decks in DL instead. I'm still convinced Roa, unknowingly, dreams of having someone punch his face in, and that's why he's Like That (terrible at every opportunity). His relationship with his boytoy vs Neil's funny themed henchmen (and butler robo dad) is also fun to think about.
Asana and the Cav Quartet: Asana was going to get her own spot but I can't separate her from her generals. She sort of reminds me of Kiriyuin Satsuki when I think about it, the militaristic antagonist with perfectly reasonable motives who joins the protag as soon as possible, except Satsuki doesn't have a goddamn pidgeon as a general. A pidgeon. Has his own ID card and documents and everything. The human is his brother, but the human was adopted into the pidgeon family, that also owns a company. I'm sorry Asana I love you and your bi energy but what the FUCK is up with those two.
Mimin: SINGLE MOMS REPRESENT, an anime mom that beats every dead and dying allegation. She's plot relevant, has screen time, and the narrative never actually forgets she's an adult with her own motivations and dreams, no matter how nice to the 10yos she is. That said, the tech she uses isn't that old Sevens stop trying to convince me I'm old, sevens!!!
Presidential Siblings in general: why do we not market ygo as a cyberpunk series when we have 'children raised in space in isolation bc they were chosen by a supercomputer to run the City-Owning Megacorp' as a normal thing that happens. That's not weird by modern yugioh standards. We crossed that bridge during 5Ds guys. This is our life now.
Yuuou: I want his musical theme. Also brings back the only good ED mechanic (/biased branded player) into the new era. Maximums are nice, sure, but Fusion is always perfect.
Swirly: I'm honestly surprised I saw some talk online about how he was 'forgotten' and 'never defeated' when like. Guys. We had two full cours showing his defeat. Living as Swirly with the Rush Club gang and being exposed to the kindness of humanity and the fun of dueling is what fixed him. Luke didn't even really need to duel him, he'd beaten the evil before he even stopped wearing the kigurumi.
That said, how the FUCK are you smaller than Yuuga. What the fuck did you eat in space that let you be so small. Illegal.
THE★LUKEMAN: remember how I said the presidential sibs were par for the yugi-course by now? This isn't. This is just pure What The Fuck. I've personally rewritten his entire origin story in my head because it was just that fucking stupid. And now i'm upset his cards dont have the ★ in their names in DL. What a waste.
Otes: Most of the Sevens cast is weird as hell. Not Seto tops them all. His deal is mysterious, he's evil from the start, but his loss ratio is so big I'm actually shocked he put up a fight as the final boss. I'm praying GO RUSH gives me some info because Yuuga's smile on reentry was too Otes-like for me. They have a connection beyond the Sevens Road and it's going to drive me insane. I need to put this man under a microscope immediately.
The -ko Girls: I also need to know their deal, but without putting them in a lab. They're so much fun to watch, they can just hang around.

Im on a Monster Train mood so maybe ill post some daily challenge runs here just cuz why not
On today's daily we go full capitalism with them candle people.
The combo is that Votivary, Parafin Thug and Molten Encasement all have Endless and Burnout 1 (coming from different sources like Shop upgrades or infusions) so they all die at the end of the round without relying on enemies to kill them and then go back to my deck so i can replay them. Meanwhile each time they die:
> Rector Flicker grows Thick™️ (Accumulator III)
> I gain 5 gold per death (Memorial Fund)
> They each gain +10 attack which thanks to Multistrike means +20 or +30 more damage (Resin Block)
> I also get free spells when i replay them thanks to Flicker's Liquor (which made my +1 ember upgrade useless but alas)
Also Flicker's keep stacking Stealth so he can get free hits on the boss and even when it runs out they still have to go through his +500 hp points to kill him which is just not feasible.
Draffs and Dregs go on the other floors to deal with stragglers and then die so i can reform them (I had like 5/6 Molded), very nice stuff.
Awoken was here mostly for card draw with Engraft and Rootseeds, plus the occasional Vine Grasp, not much to say about them tbh.
Edit: The final result:
