Little Jimothy is going on a "Dopamine Detox" and wants his 8th birthday party to reflect this: instead of the typical party snacks, he will instead have empty hotdog buns and empty ice cream cones for him and his 12 friends to snack on as the party progresses. It is important to him that the total number of snacks is a multiple of 13, as that will allow everyone in attendance to have an equal amount.
As he goes to the store, he discovers that ice cream cones are sold in packs of 12, and that the only brand of hot dog buns still available comes in packs of 7. Assuming that a pack of cones and a pack of hotdogs costs the exact same and that he wants to spend the minimum amount of money to buy a number of snacks that can be spread evenly between him and his friends, answer the following questions:
a. How many packs of 12 ice cream cones should Little Jimothy buy?
b. How many packs of 7 hot dog buns should Little Jimothy buy?
c. How many snacks does each person get?

Things I think chaggie would do if they were New Yorkers:
— Charlie really enjoys subway performances and only carries around cash to give tips. Vaggie didn’t really care for them until she saw how happy it made Charlie. She also has cash now and started to genuinely enjoy it.
— Vaggie explains to Charlie that not every corner store is a bodega, but every bodega is a corner store. Charlie pretends that she doesn’t understand because she likes how passionately Vaggie will re-explain. They do this a couple times every year.
— Keekee was a street cat that Charlie planned to only foster, but could not bring herself to get Keekee adopted. She doesn’t foster cats very often anymore. Vaggie fosters injured pigeons sometimes, or she brings them to the Wild Bird Fund (they know her there).
— Everyone thinks Charlie is a transplant because of how fascinated she is with everything. Everyone thinks Vaggie is a NYC native because of how exasperated she is with everything. Charlie was born and raised in Lower Manhattan and Vaggie was born and raised in California. They never correct anyone’s assumptions.

So the thing is, Madame d'Aulnoy was a genuinely good writer, who has written some very good fairy tales. Especially her later ones. Seriously very good stories.
But.
They are all so terribly long.
Which wouldn't be a problem, but she never uses scene breaks. It's just 60 pages worth of uninterrupted fairy tale. Which... Yeah. Is A BIT hard to read.
#from the like four Madame de Murat stories that I have read she had the same problem#so I'm assuming it was more of a common trend with all of the conteuses#guess scene breaks weren't really a thing back then huh#and I really don't want to sound like the too many words on the page girl#I get that it's old literature and shouldn't cater to me in specific#but damn these stories are hard to read and it is almost exclusively because of their length#and the lack of breaks it would not be a problem if at least sometimes it would STOP#instead of going over the biographies of multiple generations of royals in one very long flow#and I swear that her stories keep getting longer!#classic literature#fairy tales#madame d'aulnoy

Just unlocked the Empyreum housing district, and while one part of me is rp-walking around enjoying the vibes and looking at peoples gardens, another part of me is monkey-style smacking at my keyboard to search up 'ffxiv get rich quick schemes'
#20 *million* gil for a medium plot. I'm gonna pass out. Not as bad as it coukd be but still more money than ive made in my entire time#playing this game so far. Just like irl having a multi-story home is a pipedream for my demographic 😔#I decided a few months ago that I wanted to get an apartment in the Empyreum once I unlocked it since it was permanent and I liked the vibe#of the building's exterior. FC house is in Shirogane and I'm getting much closer to Stormblood now so getting a room there is becoming more#reasonable. Idk how much security that has though. And the other day someone I met back in december hung out with me for a few hours and#then offered to a *buy me a house*. Just straight-up. No repayment or anything. Just so she'd have a new neighbour I assume?? She's very#big on the 'pay it forward' mindset and that was her only condition. Pretty much just 'be nice to people and help out new players where you#can' which. I was already going to do that?? Wild. That specific plot we were looking at is So Nice but is also in Shirogane which I cant#bid in yet. Different ward to the FC house but idk how I feel about things just yet. Pretty sure when we last spoke I'd ended up agreeing t#the deal pretty much but we havent exactly seen eachother since and im still a little unsure about accepting So Much Money from someone#+ living near them as an antisocial autistic person and the problems that brings. + Having potentially multiple residences in the same#district. + Even having a housing plot at all since it requires a permanent financial commitment. Even more so when its not my gil that goe#to waste if the house gets demolished because I got burnt out or couldnt afford to keep paying a subscription and log in on time.#Lots of uncertainties but housing also seems like something I'd *really* like to participate in and getting the full experience of having a#outdoor space too would be really nice. As an assignment it’s pretty fucked up to write a single simple sentence as instruction and then get upset that people didn’t do exactly what you wanted despite not putting what you want in the instructions.
It’s also pretty strange to want for some reason a comparison to Marxism when 1. It’s not in the instructions 2. Marxism almost doesn’t come up in the assigned reading and 3. Points will be taken off for citing outside sources than the assigned ones.
Contrast with Marxism but don’t actually quote Carl Marx or cite any sources related to Marxism. Also be less rhetorical when discussing politics.

in my quest to maybe move back to providence after 20 years, im looking at jobs down there and damn i think i might be better off financially pivoting to carpentry/construction work for a while
#messages from the ouija board#the biggest two hurdles there are 1) gender. on multiple levels. but maybe i could get my dad to put in a good word for me w an old contact#bc he seems to know every tradesman in rhode island somehow. a#but like. every manual labor job ive ever had other than assisting my dad. gender has become a Problem. and itll probably be worse now#and then 2) id have to get a vehicle and all the bells and whistles w that#though idk maybe i could ask my coworker marty about how to get into stage carpentry#bc hes trans and seems to be doing well in it#ive always enjoyed manual labor stuff like i love painting i love demo work i loved repairing tombstones i love building shit#but the few times ive actually been hired by people who arent family its been a real struggle to be taken seriously#in one case i got harassed (over being a 'woman') into leaving#and in another it just made the guys on the crew increasingly uncomfortable 'having a girl around' and when the current job wrapped up#i just got ghosted. no telling me where the next job was. no returning my calls. nothing.#and im scared of that happening again. but also. the money seems way better than museum work wrt what im qualified for
