A list of slang words for supernaturals that come from central and south america to use. Some of these are legit, some of these are made up, some of these are borrowed from native central and south american languages.

Masquimao/masquimano/quimano: contraction, comes from the phrase más que humano (more than human). Informal, used for individuals that are supernatural, with no further distinction. Ex: that guy over there’s a masquimano. You can’t trust him.

Hijo de la Luna: child of the moon/moon child. Chiefly used to refer to werewolves. Ex: Los Hijos de la Luna do not like vampires.

Hijo de la Sangre: child of the blood/blood child. Chiefly used to refer to vampires.

Común/comunes: derogative term used for non-supernatural person/persons, meaning common. Ex: we don’t want comunes in this territory.

Winaqil/winaq: k'iche', meaning humanity or human, neutral term for non-supernaturals. Ex: our duty is to protect winaqil.

Wayinik: k'iche' for howl, used to refer to werewolves. Ex: a new born wayinik is trying to Change.

Ajtz’alam: k'iche' for vampire bat, used to refer to vampires. 

Q’alajisanel: k'iche' for prophets, also a general term used to refer to a human with supernatural qualities (see: special human), because they are able to use boq’wäch (the vision, the term for Belief). 

Subunel: humanoid animal, used to refer chiefly to werebeast in the half-beast state, or to werebeasts themselves. K’iche’.

Soucuyant / Loogaroo: terms used in the Caribbean Islands (and Louisiana) to refer to a specific type of vampire.

Jé-rouges: red eyes, it is a term used to refer to werewolves. 

Khachu: quechua for bite (verb). Used to refer to a Bite (noun), with intention to convert. Ex: She received the Khachu, and will transform very soon. 

Muertelenta: “slow dead”, in reference to a human’s transformation into a vampire.

Muertovivo: living dead, used to refer to vampires.

[El] Cambio: spanish for the Change.

Cambiaformas: general term for shapeshifter.

Encanto: charm. Used to refer to spells (hechizos).

Bruja/brujo: witches.

Glamúr: castilianization of the word Glamour.

Soruna: coming from runa, quechua for gente (people). Used to refer to supernatural beings. Ex: the Soruna.

Cazador/es: hunter/s. 

Chupasangre: bloodsucker. Derogative term for vampire.

Colmillúo: informal term for supernatural creatures that have fangs, usually vampires.

Montero/s: another word for hunters, specifically used to refer to the guards employed by royalty in Spain since 900.

Dienteleche: literally milk teeth, mocking term used for freshly changed werewolves (because they have “baby teeth”, still unused).
