MTV Lanceert user-generated on-air platform “I Am My MTV”

Wie tegenwoordig MTV aanzet voor vette videoclips zal zich even achter de oren krabben. De tijd dat “music television” nog daadwerlijk “music television” was zullen alleen de 35+ lezers onder ons zich herinneren met invloedrijke shows als “Headbangers Ball”, “Yo! MTV Raps” en “TRL”. Die dagen zijn allang verleden tijd en hebben plaats moeten maken voor “Teen moms”,“Jersey Shore” en “catfish” om een paar te noemen.

Hardcore Reality-TV programma’s die een nieuw tijd kenmerkten waarin MTV geen andere keuze zag dan het roer om te gooien en mee te gaan met de veranderende gedrag in tijdsbesteding en consumering van hun beoogde doelgroep. En daar blijft het voorlopig niet bij want MTV introduceert sinds kort nieuwe strategie voor nog meer binding met de 15-25 jarige doelgroep via de compleet nieuwe User-generated on-air platform “I Am My MTV”. Centraal op het platform staat de nieuwe show MTV Bump die zich gaat bezighouden met het vertonen van content, korte films en video’s welke rechtstreeks vanaf social media platforms getrokken wordt en direct te zien zal zijn op TV. Denk hierbij aan streams vanaf Vine en Instagram videos die gedurende de programmering en breaks worden uitgezonden. Naast de reguliere tv restricties (geen naakt, illegaal materiaal, merken en overige copyright schendingen), kan alles worden ingezonden naar MTV Bump. Gebruikers krijgen direct bericht wanneer hun materiaal wordt uitgezonden waar MTV hoopt op een sneeuwbal effect onder de jeugd. Het kanaal is inmiddels live in de UK, Frankrijk, Zweden, Brazilië, Duitsland, en Australië en zal bij gebleken succes verder door MTV international worden uitgezet.
