Two days ago an adorable black kitten appeared in our neighborhood and I started feeding it every day since I can’t take it home. It really breaks my heart and I hope that I’ll move out soon to take him with me but for now it’s all I can do. And today a ladybug appeared in my room. At first I didn’t even realize the connection between the two ahahah

I let it crawl on my finger to bring it outside and only when I placed it down on the grass I realized that I saw both a black cat and a ladybug in one morning.

This post doesn’t have any informational value whatsoever but I really wanted to share the funny experience 😄

Guess it’s a good sign? Yesterday I stared building the MTTW AU in depth and I’m really excited to continue with this theme.

Компания TrendForce сообщила, что 10 декабря у восточного побережья Тайваня в 21:19 по местному времени произошло землетрясение силой 6,7 баллов. Это не вызвало аварийной остановки заводов, но компании были вынуждены на время остановить производство для проверки промышленного оборудования. О проблемах никто не заявлял. Все заводы вернулись к нормальной деятельности. Возможно, в этот раз пронесло. Во всяком случае, прогнозы пока никто не меняет.

Ближе всех к эпицентру землетрясения находились заводы по выпуску оперативной памяти компаний Nanya, MTTW (Micron) и Vanguard. Интересно, что недавно на заводе MTTW был инцидент с пожаром и временным отключением электроэнергии, что уже привело к ситуации, которая может оказать влияние на рост цен на оперативную память.

Чуть дальше от эпицентра были предприятия по контрактному производству чипов компаний TSMC, UMC, Vanguard и PSMC. Они тоже не сообщили о проблемах и корректировке производственных планов. Тем не менее, подобные инциденты затрагивают территории, на которых расположен 21 % мировых мощностей по выпуску чипов DRAM и 51 % мощностей по выпуску чипов по контракту. Поэтому за всем происходящим в регионе необходимо внимательно следить.

Также следует сказать, что цены на оперативную память сейчас выходят из пике на горизонтальную траекторию, о чём мы на днях сообщали, и любая неприятность в отрасли может легко изменить горизонтальный полёт на подъ��м. Остаётся скрестить пальцы и ждать хороших новостей.

Highways and Stairways

The other day, I was sitting with friends listening to a 70′s music playlist, when the song Highway to Hell came on. As we listened to it and continued working, one friend stopped and asked “Isn’t it interesting that the song Stairway to Heaven was also really popular in the 70′s?” Yes, it is interesting. These songs came out around the same time and are both talking about pathways to somewhere, and although they’re both good songs, that’s just what they are. Songs. No deeper meaning or lesson to take away. Just songs. 

But there is so much truth just in these titles. The way to hell IS a highway - it’s fast, it’s exhilarating, it flies by before you really have a chance to figure out what is going on. It’s got several lanes and it’s crowded. Matthew 7 says wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction. 

Do you know what the actual definition of a stairway is? Not just the steps. It is a set of steps AND its surrounding walls or structures. The road that leads to life is narrow (Mttw 7). This stairway has boundaries, it can only fit a few people on it, and it’s hard. Yes, it is hard. Highways are much faster and easier. They don’t require any energy. You have to physically move yourself to get up a stairway, one step at a time. But it is so worth it once you finally reach the top. 

Life as a follower of Christ is not meant to be easy. But our reward is spending eternity with the One who designed that stairway. So be encouraged, and keep climbing. 

Our life in Kenya has resumed to normalcy in the most part, primarily because it is keeping us busy. I (Hannah) am teaching two high school science classes (Environmental Science and Anatomy/Physiology) this year, as well as keeping the athletic director role. I’m also continuing with my two incredible senior girls in discipleship and can’t wait to grow deeper with them this year. Nick has spent a ton of time lately in meetings, strategizing and making connections to be able to plan events and activities within different international schools in our area. The British/Kenyan system schools are just starting up this week, so he is excited to get the ball rolling with those schools. Nick remains very involved still at WNS: assisting a high school worship team, facilitating team-building activities, and leading child safety discussions in the elementary.  

We greatly appreciate your prayers and support as we are learning what Nick’s new position will entail, and what that looks like for our family. 

There have been many things going on in Nairobi recently, so we ask for your continued prayers in the following areas: 

1. The Supreme Court has annulled the presidential election results. This means that Kenya has 60 more days of campaigning and will vote again around the beginning of November. Please pray for peace. The election in August was relatively peaceful, with few deaths. Pray that the second election in November will peaceful, and also be fair. 

2. The SC decision also affects many families at WNS. Some will choose to travel and leave the country during election time, others may choose to move and leave Kenya all together. Pray for peace and for safety for our families. 

3. A few weeks ago, an incident occurred involving several WNS families. Please pray for healing and for safety for our WNS staff. 

4. WNS is trying a new course called Youth Alpha with our high school chapel. This course talks about the big questions of life and about who Jesus is. The entire high school is split up into small groups, and each teacher is a leader of a group of 8-10 high schoolers. Please pray for our students’ hearts and that they would be open to discussions. You can pray specifically for my group, which has 8 students - 4 of which are ELL students from Southeast Asian countries and are not believers. Please pray for TM, TT, D, P, B, I, K, and A. 

5. Finally, pray for health and for rest for Nick and I. He is going 90 to nothing most days, and I am back in full swing at school.

Nick and I are so thankful for each of you and that you are committed to praying for us. We know that God has big plans for the Karen area, at WNS and other international schools. He is sovereign over all.

Gets ko na. Siguro yun nga talaga ang sagot. Hindi mo talaga ko mahal, hindi mo talaga ko sineryoso. Pinag-laruan mo lang ako. Ganun na lang ba? Nagdudusa ako habang inaalala ka! Kaso ano ka jan? Nagpapakasasa sa bago mo. Masaya kang nagmamahal ng totoo at sobra. 

Siguro nga tama lang na kalimutan ka. Hindi ko na kaya. Masakit na. Sobra na. Ayoko nang alalahanin pa. Kelangan kong matuto sa mga ginawa mo sakin. Hindi pwede tong nagpapakatanga pa rin ako sayo. Langya ka. Tangina mo. :'(
