Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's "Hirkani" Semi-Deluxe bus. These buses were earlier called "Asiad" since they were introduced during the Asian Games of 1982, to carry contestants. Later the name was changed to Hirkani. These buses offered better seating comfort - initially in 2x3 layout, then in 2x2 layout. This class has been replaced with AC Seater coaches (Shivshahi) now. A few years ago MSRTC set out on an ambitious project to re-body their older buses. In a major deviation from their usual pattern of building buses with Aluminium sheets, these rebuilt buses were built with Mild-Steel (MS) and Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) front end structure (Cowl).
