Just finished the new season of Orange is the New Black last night and while overall I liked the season, all the pudding product placement and new theme song seemed a little over the top.
Danimals, Danimals, snack snack snack ‘till your tumm is full. The tumm is full. Eat some more. In the dark, it’s so yum. The fridge was empty now it’s full. Searching the store for a great new snack. The fun is here, the yum have you. And everyone is eating, eating with you.

Growing Human Neurons Connected to a Computer

Growing Human Neurons Connected to a Computer

Neurons are amazing little microbes capable of learning and making decisions. Modern AI tries to take inspiration from living neurons, but why settle for the synthetic version? By growing human neurons directly connected to a computer it’s possible to make a living AI of sorts capable of even complex tasks like flying a plane in a simulation.
Today we explore our first attempt at doing exactly that. We cover building the first prototype multi electrode array, growing the neurons and attempting to take some readings from them. This is the first part of what will hopefully be a many part series, so stay tuned for updates!

Here’s What’s Happening in Tucson This Weekend!
Fri 11/2 - Sun 11/4
Happy Friday Everyone!
There will be Celtic music by Irish pipers, Irish dancers, poetry, food, fun, and games. And of course, you’ll see men wearing skirts all weekend at the Tucson Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games. Thank goodness the kilts are made of wool since the weather is a bit chilly now. You can take some of that chill off at the Tucson Fire Fighters annual Chili Cook-Off this Saturday at Reid Park.
The UofA Wildcat Football team has gotten back on track and they take on Colorado tonight at Arizona Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30pm and the days of thousands of tickets being available is now over. See if you can still find tickets online. Go CATS!
On the music scene catch Midori with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra as she performs Brahms’ Violin Concerto tonight. A child prodigy she made her professional debut at age 11 with the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta. She has been a leading concert violinist for over 30 years. She’ll no doubt be performing with her 200-year-old Guarneri violin, said to be more priceless than a Stradivarius. Oh, you want your music a little tougher? Then go see Andrea rock it out on her well-worn Gretsch guitar and Pete on his thunderous drum kit at the Birds and Arrows Album Release concert tonight at Hotel Congress at 7pm.
Starting today and running through Sunday, head to the TCC for the 11th annual Comic-Con featuring celebrities, costumes, authors, artists and more. Bring your imagination and plenty of cash for all the extra pictures you’ll be taking with your favorite super Heros!
Nights of the Living Fest is two nights of live music and celebration at the MSA Annex starting tonight. See the full schedule for the All Souls Procession Weekend here.
GABA, the Greater Arizona Bicycle Association, presents Mountain to Mountain this Sunday. A 100-mile loop for the serious bikers with shorter loops for non-professionals. It’s time to get yourself ready for El Tour de Tucson this coming November 17th. Finish off the weekend with some laughs at the Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour Sunday night at Tucson Music Hall.
If you’re near our Open House on 6152 E 15th Street this Saturday and Sunday, stop by and say hi. Regardless of your plans, have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the weather. As always, please let us know if we can be of help to you or someone you know.

Well, Albert is very good at drawing pictures and here he portrayed his little sisters and the Kingsmen-Yukino children. Apparently he decided to be an independent artist. He is very good at his job!!!
