Reading articles about MrBeast's dominance of YouTube is fucking bizarre because, from my perspective, the dude isn't even on YouTube. I've never watched one of his videos. YouTube has, to the best of my knowledge, never recommended one of his videos to me. Every thumbnail screenshot of his looks like something you could tell me was a photoshopped parody of YouTube culture, and I'd believe you. No one I follow on YouTube ever mentions him, even negatively or in passing. The first time I ever heard his name was in regards to the quality of his ghost kitchens. The only way I know he isn't a mass, shared hallucination is that I've witnessed the thoroughly mid-looking chocolate bars he sells at Walmart for some reason

I would love if one day a new follower was a person and not just a bot. I also want mrbeast to eat shit and die. Those things are unrelated.

Ahhhh... Not again. I don't know if you heard it but you probably will in a few days. One of Mr Beasts buddies Kris Tyson (who also outed as a trans woman) has been accused of being a p*do. I know you should first and foremost be sad for the victim or whatever but I'm honestly just pissed of of being represented by people like that because for Normie's who happen to watch MrBeast this was probably the only exposure they got to a trans person.
Like of course that's going to be a negative association. I really wish all the media attention would shift away from us. I'm so frustrated because of this... And sorry for the rant but how do you deal with this? Or are you even taking it to heart / care about trans people of public interest and how they behave?
I mean I know I shouldn't care either but whenever someone tells me "hey do you know (youtuber/influencer) X? He/She is trans you should check it out". Then I can't help but sometimes catching up on them to see if they didn't do some questionable things because I don't want our " collective reputation" as trans people be tarnished even further. Which is also stupid I know because the transphobes hate us anyway. I just fear that normal people who were not radicalised yet will "take" this opportunity to jump on the trans hate and grouping us all together.
*raises his head from studying*
Kris what
I totally didn't check any of those and I don't watch Mr Beast lmao
I didn't have the faith to look at 2 hours of videos... From what I quickly gathered however it was just inappropriate jokes on a discord with minors? Like... Can we really talk about victims then? One minor with whom she had a more serious relationship says that she's fine (she's now 20). Is there really any victim in there? Looks like it's a ploy to fuck up a trans woman rather than a real defense of victims. The fact that it's bad to tell inappropriate jokes or flirt with minors isn't because it's bad per essence, it's bad because it has a significant probability that it can hurt them. There was no harm done there from what I could gather. The question is, were any of those people hurt/traumatized? If not then why the fuck people go on people's business. Being considered a public victim when you're not certainly can do harm too. Vigilante justice also sucks too. I feel bad for Ava tbh, I don't think anyone deserves being dragged publicly, independently of what she may or may not have done. It's a matter of justice if there is a victim, not a matter of YouTubers capitalising on that. Harassment is bad, period.
I used to take to heart how people behaved and what they said on TV but now I'm whatever. Probably comes from the fact that I have the privilege to pass so whatever is being said there doesn't really have any repercussions on me/my life. So nobody comes to me saying "hey you should check that youtuber they're trans" and honestly it's better that way because that would annoy me too much.
If random people are incapable of understanding one person is one person, rather than generalising a group of people based on one person, then they were already a bigot to begin with tbh. Normal people don't draw such conclusions from one instance.

Did you hear about Mr Beast?
yeah i actually watched that hour long “mr beast is a fraud” video lol and apparently the guy who posted that will be dropping a part two 👀
yes mrbeast has helped people but he also knew one of his friends/employees was being inappropriate with minors and knew that friend purchased CP art, mrbeast was also sending inappropriate messages to minors on discord, he’s promoted gambling to the kids who watch his shit, then the whole production of his competition show on amazon apparently having horrendous conditions for the people taking part in it and he’s having people delete negative comments on his videos now… yeah it’s not looking good for him
#i don’t even watch his shit but have seen several videos of people reacting/discussing this whole thing#*replies

Leading off that anon and your response (I'll be honest I wasn't aware you have pro-Dream anons lurking, that ask definitely tasted of bad faith but I digress), the most likely answer is, as much as people treat NDAs as these rare and scary things, is that it was their contracts ending. Likely built frustration or new sense of freedom with what they can say that's spurring on this sort of new wave of harshness and crit toward the dteam coming from multiple former members.
Nearly all large scale servers where content is produced have legal contracts in place, more than likely NDAs. For the DSMP, where there were multiple monetary events, i.e. MrBeast's challenge, which sits funnily at the average NDA length of being roughly 2.5 years ago, plus it's general scale and popularity, there are simply no feesable circumstances where there were no legal contracts in place for at minimum a portion of its players. The idea that there wasn't is a little naive but it's fair with the representation of NDAs in media.
I could also go into Aimsey mentioning directly there was legal reasonings preventing him from speaking out on Dream's allegations (Dream's arguable legal actions against Amanda do not inherently prevent a member of his server showing support to the potential victim unless, again, there's NDAs in place) - but that's a whole box of frogs.
So yeah, the DSMP contract or NDA would likely have involved some aspect protecting the image of Dream and or his company as the legal owner of the server, so some sort of discouragement against what would be deemed slander - maybe at a push required engagement but there's nothing definitive on that bar from his plans for DSMP 2. Tommy's skit is damaging to Dream's image and explicitly negative that's no question, and he would't have been able to do it under the legal contract that must've existed, so the idea that the catalyst for it all is this contract ending seems increasingly likely.
(It's 1 AM as I write this I hope it makes some sense)
I've been sitting on this one for a little bit, since I know that NDA theory is a thing that floats around and I don't know enough about the law to comment, but I generally think of what's been happening as more organic than that. I genuinely believe that the wave of negativity towards Dream is a result of people reaching the end of their rope and snapping/giving up rather than a legal thing. (Inversely I think it took people this long to fully make up their minds and be public about it, which NDA theory seems to be trying to preserve-- the Idea that everyone stepped back immediately and just couldn't say it.)
I think a lot of people feel frustrated and disappointed with the direction that Dream went (If the fandom feels it I imagine their coworkers aren't pleased about it either) let alone the allegations. Now that it's been about a year, it's safe to say that Dream never recovered from that moment in a lot of ways, especially socially. People have distanced, opinions have gone down and Dream's name isn't clickbait-able in the positive way it once was, which I do think people were holding out for as a valuable social connection. I think a lot of ex-DSMP creators may feel stood up and screwed over with what happened to the server, and Dream is the face of the problem. Between this, the problems he already had and his slowed content production it got easier to think of him as a net negative that people felt better off without, especially since the social cost for associating with him is so high.
Back at the start, there were legal issues with the idea of a defamation case. Defamation cases get stronger when public opinion turns visibly against someone because of an accusation, so Aimsey was probably talking about dynamics like that.
#gen drm tag#tw: grooming#Am not law person but it felt more like people changed as the year went on#Tommy took a sharp turn and he's probably the strongest example of someone who was going off of feelings rather than law

Man I wish I had your yt shorts recommendations. In april the only shorts I got recommended were "memes from the internet" and they all had some racist/sexist/homophobic stuff in them and the comments would be filled with people saying the most blatantly racist shit and putting old people emojis after it like it was okay now. Took me weeks to get them out of my recs
Unfortunately my YouTube shorts recommendations also has some bad stuff, the latest plague has been a bunch of basically identical videos talking negatively about Chris from MrBeast (Who I don’t watch at all, so idk why I’ve gotten so many of these videos recommended to me) for being trans. They’ve mostly went away, but I got one like an hour ago

someone has to grab sapanap by the soulders and ask him what the hell is he doing, the mrbeast style videos on his channel are doing sooo much worse than his usual content, bro is killing his career
i'd rather he does whatever george is doing than post those videos honestly
dream I undersand a bit cause when your brain is so consumed by something (music in his case) it is hard to focus on something else, like, he posted that mc video with the translator so quickly after his previous one because he was very excited- i believe in him tho
george's thing I guess is that he is too much of a perfectionist, at least according to what dream has said
anyway, I would sell my soul for a well edited mc video
this is really stupid sapnap neg i gotta be real with you. Sapnap has nevah cared about his youtube channel the way the other two have 22 videos in three years . he's so much happier making banter and owning nrg and doing valo content and winning mc competitions than making Minecraft videos. that's always been clear. and george fell victim to mr beastisms too that's why his plane vlog flopped. also on that george isn't doing anything???? are you saying you want sapnap to do nothing excpet banter??

it’s kind of weird seeing people defend mrbeast. I have very negative opinions on philanthropy as a whole but i think the most evil philanthropists of all are the people who use it for youtube and tiktok views

Anon, I don’t either.
(Sorry for not answering the ask officially I’m trying to avoid getting the post spread around).
(Long post incoming)
Dteam and Karl are grown ass adults who are more then capable of making their own decisions regarding what and where they want to produce content.
If ppl want to assume that Karl is purposefully avoiding Dream for brand reasons then whatever, but looking at it from my perspective it could be a number of things.
We tend to forget that Karl gets constantly dogpiled by alt right weirdos for “ruining MrBeast”. If he were to appear on camera with Dream there’s a very real chance that could inflame the harassment he’s already receiving and make everything 10x worse. (Karl is a man who expresses stereotypically “feminine” attributes, and Dream is an openly queer man. Combining that with the powder keg of alt right weirdos is a disaster waiting to happen.)
He could be avoiding that purely for mental health reasons. He could be avoiding that purely for convenience reasons due to a busy schedule. He could be avoiding that purely for brand reasons. At the end of the day I personally think it’s self preservation, but anyone can come to their own conclusions as to why these two aren’t appearing publicly together.
But at the end of the day all of that is parasocial speculation. Until someone actively allows someone else to be put in harm’s way then I genuinely don’t care what relationship these people have to one another behind the scenes. Karl will keep testing the water and will likely come back when he feels it’s safe enough for him to do so. If he does not, then he’ll most likely remain on friendly or amicable terms with Dream and SNF.
The chances of him going full Quac.kity are low, in my opinion, considering he doesn’t exactly have a bunch of rabid solo stans planning a muder on Twitter and he shares a lot of his fanbase with Dream and SNF.
Anon I’d probably suggest muting or blocking OP if their comments make you uncomfortable - they aren’t tagging CC Neg it appears and you are under no obligation to keep following anyone (even a mutual) who’s posts actively harm your mental health. It’s not worth it.
#Long post#Asks by peanut#discourse#Those are just my thoughts though#feel free to disagree with me you are completely in your right to do so#I do miss KWT interactions I’ll be honest :(#asks by peanut
