I feel like I haven't seen anyone really talk about this specific scene yet but something about it really gets to me like imagine going through hell and back to be the best only to hear that these other guys are enjoying themselves and have, y'know, basic things like autonomy and somehow managed to be nearly as good. Jean starting to realize maybe everything the Ravens did was for nothing and genuinely wanting to know why he had go through all that but the Trojans didn't and is it unfair? did he just waste 3 years of his life? If everything was rewritten could love have coexisted with being the best?

at some point in their lives, izaya started calling shizuo sunshine. as usual, shizuo thought "oh this mf is being annoying", he thought the nickname was purely ironic. some kind of joke. even shizu-chan, that affectionate but derogative nickname, was like that so he said to himself to dont pay him much attention.
now that they are in a relationship, somehow, somewhat (how did that even happen??) izaya keeps calling him shizu-chan, sunshine, moron, protozoan, the last two are meant to be insulting that's so obvious, but when izaya drags the words and wears a playful and genuine smile, shizuo only can fake his annoyment "who are you calling a moron, stupid flea?" izaya jumps around and swings his knife, not stabbing him but always trying to. shizuo always avoids it. izaya makes sure he does it.
and the first two? izaya is always saying shizu-chan, shizu-chan, all day, all night, shizuo is already used to it. sunshine is a different thing, it makes his heart stop (or flutter?), blinks confused because he doesn't know what's behind it. is he laughing at me? is he being annoying on purpose? does he want something from me? or is he being genuine? what the fuck does sunshine is supposed to mean anyway? is it the hair? the strenght of the sun compared to his own?
"shizu-chan, you are not listening to me"
"i was listening"
"what did i say?"
"..."
"i was listening my ass. sure, now pay attention to me, sunshine"
and he pretends he listens because what else can he do?
