got to see the sweeney todd revival on broadway last week and i have basically thought of nothing else since.

Unpopular opinion: Shannon Messenger makes way too many little plots then abandons them, I'm literally only in it for the sokeefe at this point.

Mr. Forkle was SO meant to die. Shannon just got cold feet and made up a little nonsense explanation out of nowhere.

And love-interest-age-gap was receiving hate? Oh no worries Sophie is actually one year older than we thought she was.

And I'm pretty sure Keefe was meant to be with Biana in the beginning, before Shannon decided to switch to sokeefe and dexiana endgame bc of what the audience wanted. !!NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING I LOVE SOKEEFE!!

And then oh haha Vespera was the main villain all along! wait no this isn't working, let's just kill her off unsatisfyingly. Same with, like, all of our other villains teehee

Keefe can sense whether or not Sophie likes him?? Which makes it so that Sophie can't have her cute lil love confession? oh hahaha not anymoreeee (unexplained magic malfunction)

another thing i'll always love abt kotlc is the way that there isnt a redemption arc for the abusers. i feel like there's too many pieces of media where the abuser is forgiven because you find out that they had good intentions or that they actually loved their victim-- but in kotlc, those aren't excuses.

you find out that linh and tam's mother misses them and regrets what she did, to the point where she becomes more forgiving and lenient; painting awkward portraits of her children because she's beginning to forget what they look like. but despite the pity, none of it is framed in a way that tries to excuse her and her husband's actions. tam and linh will always be the ones who decide whether or not to forgive them, but the narrative doesn't push the idea that they should.

it's revealed that cassius does love his son deeply, and every time he laughs and joke, a tiny part of him is happy when he sees his son smile. but instead of formulating sophie to feel bad for him, she's furious at the idea that him loving keefe will ever make up for the years of neglect his son had to go through.

it's told time and time again that gisela believes that what she's doing will be good for the world-- and therefore good for keefe. but the story doesn't even entertain the notion of understanding gisela for what she did to her child because nothing would ever justify the lies and manipulation.

i wouldnt say mr forkle is an abuser-- but i will always love how sophie never forgives him or trusts him fully. it's not even considered. yes, he did all those things for a good reason; messing with sophie's memories, making her feel alienated, giving her limbium-- but shannon never writes kotlc in a way that makes sophie feel like she should forgive forkle

The scene in Legacy where Forkle says that Sophie, Fitz, and Keefe should do trust exercises together to figure her enhancing or smth and Dex is like “you want them to do trust exercises??” And Forkle’s like “it’ll be enlightening” and Dex goes “oh it definitely will be”

i think that mr. forkle can mentally slap people and that’s what he did when gethen tried to kidnap sophie in the human world at the beginning of book one

When the elves die, they plant their wandering seed...but what happens to the bodies?

In the series, all the dead characters didn't really have their bodies retrieved. Kenric and Jolie died in a fire, Cyrah faded, and Vespera exploded, and Umber...well we all know how that went.

But what happened to her body? And Mr. Forkle's? Where did they go? what do they do with them? I doubt they burn them or anything like that?

Do they throw their bodies into a beam of light and let them disintegrate? Like what happens??
