G Witch Ep 12 Thoughts
(Right, there's gonna be some foul language in this one, also MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR EP 12) What The Fuck Prospera, no seriously WHAT THE FUCK. "That Girl"!! "THAT GIRL"!!! I guess that's one way to reveal to the world how little you give a shit about the girl who wears your daughters face. Prospera is definitely the worst parent in this show, and that's saying something considering Mr. Delling "I'm gonna auction my daughter off to the best fighter" Rembran, and Mr. Vim "You lost too many battles, you're no longer my son" Jeturk are in this show. Talking of Vim, hands up who didnt see that one coming. Of all the parents who was in this show, he was never the one I expected to die first, and yet he does, glad that he's finally found his missing son, whom he loved but struggled to show it. Too caught up in status and politics to see what he was doing to his child.
And it killed him, once he realised what he lost. Killed by his own estranged son who through a lack of communication and time was forced to watch his father die by his own hand. Where this leaves Guel I dont know, perhaps he'll join with Shaddiq now, until he finds out what he's planning, and that he's ultimately responsible for the death of his father. Wouldnt that be something. Delling, the cold calculating businessman, who when it comes down to it, puts himself between an explosion and his daughter. All of the politicing, all of the lies and distance an attempt to protect his daughter, but then, just as the estrangement began to fade, it was torn away by others scheming. And now we come to the new enhanced witches, Sophie and Norea. They're fun, even if Sophie does have a slightly massive obsessive streak. I dont have much on them today, but I do want to touch on the idea that Sophie calls Suletta her 'big sister.' Now there are three things this could mean: - First, and most likely in my opinion, is that this is metaphorical, Suletta is Sophie's big sister in that she too pilots a gundam, and so they're all part of a big family of Witches, people persecuted and hated for the powers their suits posess. - Second, and a little less likely, although not by much, is that Suletta too is an enhanced person like Sophie and Norea, probably enhanced at the same facility they grew up in, and so Sophie feels a familial bond to her due to their shared origin. - Thirdly, and the completely batshit off the rails option, is that Suletta Mercury, is their full blood sister, who has been altered in much the same way EL4N and EL5N were, in order to give her the face and body of Ericht Samaya. Either way this is gonna be fun. Talking of Ericht, lets talk about the Aerial. Her new design is pretty interesting, even if it shares more similarities with the mobile suits of typically antagonistic forces than it does with a traditional Gundam now. That line about it 'not being designed for combat' solidifed my theory that the suits used in Asticassia are massively tuned down compared to actual combat use suits, so like, how powerful is the Aerial going to be when it gets tuned up. Finally, lets talk about Suletta Mercury. The Witch. The Cyber Newtype, the girl so conditioned to obey her mother that she'll straight up murder a guy and maintain her chill floppy exterior. I'm scared for her and Mio-Mio, I think this might be the action that sends them to opposite sides of the war, at least for now. Suletta goes from being terrified of killing, to happily doing it in a sentence from her mother. Suletta Mercury, what did Elnora do to you, what's Quiet Zero, and why can you casually enter Permet Six with no ill effects while others are almost dead at three. I cannot wait for April, this is gonna be such a long three months. Ah well, back to watching through Gundam-X I guess.

Tumblr media
hey its time for episode 2! lets hope tumblr doesnt decide to randomly flag my rewatch post like it did for episode 1 (which i sent for re-review and still no answer lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
insane this seemingly throwaway line was probably about the calibarn and not the lfrith as you're led to assume in the beginning episodes. and then shaddiq just outright asking rouji if its an ochs earth suit. knowing now that he had been working for the SAL/ochs earth, i wonder if he and they both started looking into aerial and shin sei separately.
i always assumed feng and guston were ordered to look into shin sei because of delling style anti-gundam fuckery but seems pretty obvious it was just ochs earth people within the SAL being like where the fuck did this possible gundam we don't have under our watch come from
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wow the op sure hits different knowing this didnt turn out to be MEGAFRIENDSHIP and these little gaybies are actually in love, your honor
Tumblr media
so technically suletta is a delinquent character, right? right? i mean she's been arrested.
Tumblr media
honestly enjoying keeping an eye on sarius during this rewatch
Tumblr media
again, i just gotta wonder the extent of how shitty all these people have treated miorine for years. like yea cool, shes witty and smart enough to lash back out verbally like she does initially here about guel but man, is like all her dirt out in the open? that's a low blow and felsi knows it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
miorine rembran, you're not beating the homosexual allegations. her reaction here to finding out suletta might end up expelled because of trying to stand up for her is Very Good™
Tumblr media
we never really did get an explicit answer for how elnora was able to turn the lfrith into aerial. before notrette ended up being a big bag of nothing, her involvement seemed to have been the fan favorite for secret backer. i read some theory like in the last week saying that maybe it was delling all along and then he was unhappy that she sent aerial to asticassia and suletta ended up engaged to miorine hence the entirety of episode 2 and him trying to get the gundam away from miorine. not really sure i buy it but you could argue that later on when she tells him to call her elnora samaya while theyre talking about quiet zero that it's possible she had been collaborating with him under the prospera mercury moniker
Tumblr media
space covid
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah so i guess delling sending a message to miorine that she's being pulled from school and he'd choose a suitor is all because he knows prospera used his plan against him and knows aerial is a gundam, at least that is according to that delling as long time prospera financial backer theory.
second theory time: even if he wasn't prospera's backer until well after the grassley duel when aerial is actually taken to plant quetta for repairs on delling's dime, IF there was any chance aerial could be a gundam, he'd know from experience that a gundam would blow through any and all duelists, so he's being pragmatic here just in case it is a gundam
Tumblr media
mio just so happens to get the chance to get to earth again, but we are practically a day or two into suletta's time as asticassia and this girl is so down bad that she's throwing her who knows how long plan to escape down the drain already. her immediate hesitation is once again Very Good™
Tumblr media
it's also incredible how in your face this show is with its imagery that it really shocks me how even then so many things fly over people's heads lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so like she definitely had just off the bat asked them to take her to the benerit group instead of earth.
Tumblr media
oh, i love her. vim you stood no chance.
Tumblr media
yeah, delling, she's just gonna say why yes of course i am mr rembran.
Tumblr media
it is so unbelievably wild to me that there were speedwatchers who coming up on episode 23 or something were JUST realizing prospera is elnora. like 1. this scene right here was your tip off 2. she fucking says it herself in like episode 10 or 11 or whatever ep that is lmao
Tumblr media
there really is like virtually no fan service in this show for which i'm very much grateful for but lmao the first few episodes they really just cannot hold back from the mio leg shots, huh?
Tumblr media
spoken like a true sick hypercapitalist fuck. fuck you, delling.
i also hate how he's basically forced miorine into a position where her trying to fight for her own autonomy is seen as acting out or throwing a tantrum. just another notch in a series of things she's spent her life being made fun of for
Tumblr media
she really gave away her plan from the beginning eh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i really am such a sucker for girl who upends her whole life for the first person to show her kindness thing. looking at you homura.
really though, miorine could have just said fuck it and left to earth, like she JUST met this girl, but at the end of the day miorine rembran is a good girl and there's no way she was going to extinguish the first sign of light shes had thrown her way probably since her mother died
Tumblr media
i guess not really much to say about this episode lol and nothing really that made me go "oh wow they did allude this this back in x".
will probaby watch ep 3 later tonight, now lets hit post and hope tumblr doesnt hate me and tries to flag another of my rewatch posts

Daily Mails perspective/coverage on Lorraine Dunbar.
Drug addict daughter of famous playwright jailed after killing son with methadone By PAUL SIMS Last updated at 23:22 23 November 2007
Lorraine Dunbar The drug-addict daughter of a British playwright killed her son by allowing him to drink methadone, it was revealed yesterday.
Lorraine Dunbar's son, Harris, was two years old when he swallowed a teaspoon of the heroin substitute and died.
Witnesses said he would often hold his arms outstretched, as if demanding a fix, each time his mother took a dose, a court heard.
Her life began to fall apart when, at the age of 11, her mother Andrea - who wrote the popular play Rita, Sue and Bob Too - died of a brain haemorrhage.
Unable to cope with the loss, she began taking drugs and developed a craving that ultimately led her into prostitution. The birth of Harris, did little to halt her descent.
She smoked crack cocaine and heroin in front of him and saw little wrong with it.
In July last year, Harris swallowed a fatal dose of the drug while living with his mother in a bedsit.
It was not clear last night whether Dunbar, 28, had given her son methadone or he had accidentally taken it.
Yesterday, details of Dunbar's chaotic life were revealed as she was jailed for three years and nine months for causing the death of her son.
Scroll down for more ...
Harris Dunbar Bradford Crown Court was told how she was taken into care soon after her mother died in 1990. She soon began experimenting with drugs, using her mother's inheritance to pay for her habit.
By the time she gave birth to Harris in 2005, she had become an addict and was living in a room at a women's refuge in Bradford, West Yorkshire. She had also converted to Islam and changed her name to Samaya Rafiq.
Prosecutor Andrew Robertson QC said: "A witness confirmed that the defendant allowed the child to play with her methadone bottles. When a friend challenged her she responded with words to the effect that there was no harm in it.
"Hair tests confirmed in the last four months of his life, Harris had actually ingested methadone.
"There is a suggestion he had developed a craving for it. One witness described him holding his arms out as his mother took her dose."

George Costigan Michelle Holmes, Siobhan Finneran On the day Harris died Dunbar was again smoking drugs. When a hostel worker came to her room he found her calling the emergency services as Harris lay still on the bed. He was pronounced dead at hospital an hour later.
Mr Robertson said a post mortem examination revealed the amount of methadone identified in Harris equated to a 5ml teaspoon.
In addition, Harris had also inhaled the smoke from heroin and crack cocaine. His DNA was found on three of Dunbar's methadone bottles, the court was told.
She admitted manslaughter by gross negligence and cruelty by allowing Harris to ingest the drugs and the anti-depressant dotheipin.
Andrea Dunbar was a 21-year-old single mother when she received huge critical acclaim for her 1980s play Rita, Sue and Bob Too - a bawdy comedy set in Bradford. It was turned into a popular film.
Sentencing Dunbar, Recorder Judge Stephen Gullick said: "You totally failed to carry out your duty as a parent to protect your son."
Social Services said they were not aware that Harris was being exposed to drugs. A review has been launched into the case.
