manifesting an episode called “The Plan M Job” in which hardison is off doing Important Things when the crew receives a cryptic text from him that (because they all know these things and it’s a very distinctive kind of cryptic) informs them that he’s in real, serious, plan-m trouble - through no fault of his own, of course, he’s not the guy that gets in trouble out of carelessness anymore. it’s just that it’s a dangerous job and everybody is thrown into pandemonium

parker does what she often does in times of extreme crisis and rises with the ability to Take Charge And Do The Damn Thing and she organizes the team and books their flight and whips everybody into shape because simply she will not allow this go break bad. it’s not permissible. they will get to him and he will be safe and there is no other option. while the rest of the gang just freaks out

sophie is freaking out because this is too similar to the bad parts of the old days that she tries not to think about and also because she’s still processing her own loss how is she supposed to help the kids if they suddenly go through the same thing she did just last year? bre is freaking out because that’s her big brother and he was the one so worried about her and constantly checking in and she just assumed automatically that he’d be fine because he always is and she tends to idolize the older team members, eliot is freaking out because he was the one who encouraged hardison to keep working the side gig, who encouraged him to think of it as His Real Job, and now he’s in the metaphorical ice cave, sophie, what possessed me to let him go down there, i can’t help him from halfway across the world, dammit, and harry is freaking out mostly because the atmosphere is very tense and he’s absorbing a lot of stress right now, okay?

ultimately hardison is fine of course (although he may manage to spin the original meaning of plan m in order to help the team get him out of the trouble, which scares them very badly and causes eliot to develop palpitations from swearing too vigorously) and the whole thing is just an excuse for me to explore People Experiencing Horrific Anxiety Over A Loved One which is my favorite type of storytelling and gets me every time
