Sooryavanshi: Jackie Shroff joins Akshay Kumar film, Rohit Shetty promises more surprises in his cop universe. See pic - bollywood

Veteran actor Jackie Shroff has joined the team of Sooryavanshi, director Rohit Shetty announced on the actor’s birthday on Saturday. Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Rohit’s cop franchise and features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The three actors will be working with Rohit for the first time in the film. Sharing a picture with Jackie, Rohit wrote on Instagram, “Just when you thought you knew all the characters of Our Cop Universe...Presenting to you The Man Himself...JACKIE SHROFF... I have done a lot of work with him and now working with his son Rohit has been fantastic. He has the story in his head. He is the boy who has come right from the soil. He knows his job and I loved working with him. It is an experience I will never forget. I can’t disclose my character but its an interesting role.”He added, “To be in the same film with all these young stars is fantastic. It is a great opportunity to be part of a film like this, which gives me a lot of strength. It has been a great experience and a fantastic feeling working in Sooryavanshi.” Rohit had earlier shared a video with all his cops - Ajay Devgn (Singham and Singham Returns), Akshay and Ranveer Singh (Simbaa) standing with their backs to each other and firing their guns. Major portions of Sooryavanshi have been shot in Bangkok, Thailand and Hyderabad. Akshay plays the title role of Sooryavanshi, a character that was introduced as an anti-terrorist squad officer in Simmba last year. The film also features Gulshan Grover and Sikander Kher. Two of the most controversial contestants of the Bigg Boss reality TV show have demanded Rs 5 crore each from the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

Salman, who’s also been successfully hosting the Bigg Boss show, has had phenomenal week with his new release Race 3, which has already crossed Rs 200 crore against all odds. The film had received quite a lot of negative reviews from all film critics.

Speaking to reporters Arshi laughingly said, “I want Rs 5 crore from Salman because I really promoted his movie well and deserve a vbit of share.” Rakhi too joined and jokingly asked, “What will Salman do with so much money. Will you (Salman) take this money to qabr (grave)?”

Both praised Salman for his acting in Race 3 saying that his fight scene in the film was of international quality and compared the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor to Sylvester Styallone.

Both Rakhi and Arshi had recently appeared on a chat show hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal, who the latter sensationally told about her famous tweet on having sex with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.

Speaking to Rajeev Khandelwal on his chat show JuzzBat, the controversial reality show actor had said, “I respect Mr Afridi a lot. He has done a lot for me. That tweet was a mistake and I should not have addressed him openly about such sensitive issues. Afridi Sahaab ke bahut ehsaan hai mujh par.”

In 2015, Arshi had stunned everyone by famously tweeting, “Yes, I had sex with Afridi. Do I need the Indian media’s permission to sleep with someone? It’s my personal life. For me it was love.”
