S8 Klance date fixit

I just spent so much time thinking about all the ways that keith and lance would finally end up together after s7 and after literally getting shot down in the first episode with no mercy but still having the sunset scene i had the idea of writing an alternate version where there’s buildup for keith and lance falling in love before that day and keith and lance having a date instead so here I trie i guess! Sorry I don’t have too much creative writing experience and I’m better at technical writing but i am interested in trying and would love feedback

They had all been bedridden after the last fight with the robeast on Earth. Keith didn’t like being restricted and liked always being on his toes so he was already antsy. But Keith was extra antsy because at some point in the fight Lance hadn’t been responding and Keith had gotten so scared and even though they won the fight, Keith hadn’t seen Lance since the fight. Although his mom and Kolivan assured him that Lance (and the others) were ok, Keith really just wanted to go see him in person himself. When he finally felt good enough to be up on his feet, Keith left his room with Kosmo (because he takes Kosmo with him everywhere if he can) to go see Lance.

Keith had guessed that Lance’s family would be with him when he went but he still hadn’t been ready for it. He just... doesn’t know how to talk to new people that well and it made it harder that they were people so important to the one he cared so much for. Keith went to Veronica since he somewhat knew her from the missions and it might be less awkward. He asked her if he could see Lance and she raised her eyes suggestively and said of course and led Keith to him. Keith blushed and followed her to Lance. When he was got to Lance, Keith just stopped for a second to take him in and then sat on the hospital bed and hugged him.

“Woah, mullet, what’s this for?” Lance said teasingly but quietly and fondly with a smile, hugging him back.

“I just... am glad to see you’re ok,” Keith whispered, holding him tighter.

Lance couldn’t help but blush at the affection from Keith who usually isn’t a touchy-feely person, it made Lance feel kinda special. It didn’t help that Keith’s trip to the quantum abyss had made him even more attractive to a point past denying. They fell out of the embrace and Lance towards him in the hospital bed. “I’m glad to see you’re ok, too. So, how's the rest of the team doing? I’m still not feeling well enough to move out and about and go see anyone.”

”Um, actually...” Keith said slowly, beginning to blush, “you’re the first person I’ve gone to yet.”

Lance took a moment to take that in. “Why me?” he whispered, in shock at the revelation.

Keith looked down and hesitated nervously before answering. “It’s just that... when you weren’t answering in Red, I got really worried. And yeah, of course I was worried about the mission, but what really overwhelmed and scared me was the thought of losing you. I just... needed to see that you were ok myself.”

“When you left for the blade, no matter what I did and how much I tried to deny it, I missed you. The more time that passed, the more worried I got that I might have already lost you, especially after Lotor had told us that you were about to sacrifice yourself. When he told us that, I couldn’t stop worrying about you and it just made me realize how much I had grown to care about you and how much you mean to me and just... I didn’t want to lose you either, Keith. I don’t ever want to lose you.” Lance replied, looking Keith in the eyes with as much sincerity as he could.

“I know it probably didn’t seem like it, but I missed you while I was in the blade, too. I’m sorry I’m not the best at showing it.”

“Well, you’re here now,” Lance said softly, smiling at Keith. Keith smiled back at him. Then Lance slowly reached out to hold Keith’s hand. Blushing, he looked up at Keith to see if he would get mad, but Keith just looked to the side trying to hold back his smile and squeezed his hand back. They just stayed like that until they heard screams.

“UNCLE LANCE THERE’S A WOLF IN HERE!!!” “TIO LANCE SAVE US!!!” his niece and nephew screamed. Keith chuckled then told them that he wouldn’t hurt anyone unless Keith told him to and said that they could pet him. After reassuring them that it was safe, the kids went to pet him and soon they started playing with him while Keith and Lance just stayed there watching them, still holding hands. At some point, Lance put his head on Keith’s shoulder and eventually they both fell asleep with their heads together.

(His siblings took pictures of them sleeping like that and after Keith left to go check up on everyone else after they woke up the next day, Lance’s family teased him about sleeping next to Keith)

Keith had taken his mom to see his dad’s grave. His mom told him that he would be very proud of Keith and all that’s he done and become, and he appreciated her saying that but it still hurt him that his dad was gone. It was nice to finally have his mom there to support him with it, though. He had really gotten close to his mom and she had helped and supported him to grow and get stronger in the two years in the quantum abyss and he really appreciated that he had gotten that opportunity. Over the two years he had grown to forgive her for leaving him and really opened up to her and she meant so much to him now.

As they were walking back to his lion, something caught his eye. He looked over and saw a flower a shade of blue that reminded him of Lance’s eyes. Keith had to get some for him, he just felt it. He told his mom he was going to go get something and rushed to go get some of the flowers. When he returned to his mom, she had a small devious smile and he blushed. She didn’t say anything about it though and honestly that embarrassed Keith more than it would have if she had teased him about it. Keith didn’t know if his mom could tell that he liked Lance romantically but he knew she was smart and observant and he wouldn’t be surprised if she did find out. When they went inside the lion, Krolia went to the room with supplies and came back with a tie to hold the flowers together. “He’s going to love them, Keith.” Well, that answered that question. Now he had actual family to embarrass him in front of his crush.

When they got back to the garrison, Keith found Lance, thankfully not around anyone else.

Lance waved at him. “Hey, Keith!” Then he noticed the flowers. “Woah what are those?” he asked, curious.

Keith blushed. “Um, well... I saw these and I just... thought of you. I don’t know, I just got this feeling, that maybe you’d like them.”

Lance took them, blushing. “What about these made you think of me?” he whispered, holding them carefully and looked up at Keith.

Keith looked right into his eyes. “Your eyes. They’re beautiful.” he whispered softly. Then Keith walked away and Lance just stood there holding the flowers, blushing and still in shock. Lance’s heart was racing and he was just so blown away, surprised at someone charming him for once since usually it’s just him who’s trying to charm others. He was too flattered and taken aback to let his competitive spirit let him get jealous that Keith outcharmed him this much.

(After finally being able to move after the shock, Lance went and found a vase and some water to take care of the flowers. He gave them to his mom to take to the house and he took good care of them, even taking some tips from Mrs. Holt about plants. He didn’t tell anyone how he got the flowers, wanting to keep the joy to himself. Every time he saw the flowers, he smiled and swooned a little and fell even further for Keith.)

Although at the beginning Lance hadn’t really cared for training and only worked out minimally, he eventually saw the appeal of training and began to understand why Keith had always been training. Although he still helped out with other things around the garrison when he could, he started to spend a lot of his time training. He trained with his sniper, sometimes even going to the shooting range with Veronica and enjoyed hanging out with his oldest sister. He worked out too, wanting to strengthen his muscles and maybe develop enough to impress people. He also trained with his sword and close combat with it, especially since that’s what he had the least experience with. The garrison had developed training bots similar to the ones in the castle of lions.

One day while he was training with his sword against the training bots, he heard something metal drop to the floor. When he looked up to see what it had been, the training bot calculated that there was an opportunity and struck him down. Having lost, Lance groaned and was able to look at what the sound was and saw that it was Keith and that he was just gaping at him.

“You gonna help me up man?” Lance asked him.

-”You, you... you have a sword.”

“Wow, good observation skills there, team leader.” Lance teased back in response, getting up himself.

Keith suddenly started smiling crazy and raced over, taking it, inspecting it all over and asking him a million questions at once, similar to how Pidge reacts whenever they see a piece of technology they like.

“Woah woah, slow down there Keith. Ok, the sword just suddenly unlocked one day while I was training.” Lance answered. Then he paused. “Do you really think it’s that cool?” he asked, quietly while blushing.

“Of course I do! This is incredible, Lance! I... I’m proud of you.” Keith replied, having a huge and sincere grin on his face.

Lance’s heart skipped a beat and he blushed. It made him feel really nice to get praise from people, especially Keith. Then he took a deep breath and looked anywhere except at Keith. “So, if you wouldn’t mind, would you possibly, maybe be interested in sword training with me? I know you’re amazing with your swords and it would be really cool to learn from a master samurai. But I totally understand if you don’t want to,” he rushed, finally taking a chance and looking up at Keith.

“You’d really want to train with me?” Keith asked, looking back at him and Lance swore his eyes sparkled.

“I really do.” Lance replied, smiling genuinely.

Keith smiled back at him. “Ok then, let’s get started.”

Training with Keith was tough work, but Lance really enjoyed being with him and their fun banter. Though Keith did not hold back and they still had their same teasing dynamic, Keith really helped Lance get better with his sword and combat and pushed him to be his best.

Keith challenged him sometimes and won easily most of the time. That didn’t stop Lance from trying though and he did win a few times. He liked how Keith used both of their competitive spirits to push them both harder, it was fun and he enjoyed it.

One time Keith challenged him, they both fought hard but Keith got the upper hand on him and disarmed him and pinned his arms against the wall. They were really close and Lance’s heart had started racing for a reason other than the fight. They were looking into each other’s eyes and stayed in the moment. Before he could process anything, Lance started to close his eyes and lean forward but then Keith had let go of him. “Good work today Lance, you’re really getting better at this,” Keith told him. Lance snapped out of his trance and his response was delayed. “Oh, yeah, thanks man.” Then Keith said goodbye and left the training room. Lance then slid down the wall and then the realization came to him: he had thought Keith was going to kiss him and Lance... had been willing to kiss him back.

After that incident, Lance became more aware of Keith. Lance got more flustered at small interactions with him but found himself thinking fondly about all the interactions they have whenever his mind wandered. Sword training became harder and he wasn’t able to focus and kept slipping up. Keith took notice of that but thankfully didn’t reprimand him for it. Lance starts wanting to spend more time with him but that desire conflicted with how easily he got flustered. He found himself staring at Keith whenever they were in meetings together or whenever they happened to be in the same room as each other but were doing other things.

Soon, Keith was all Lance could think about. He thought about how he was fun to be around and Lance could always relax and be himself around him. He thought about how supportive Keith was to him and all the helpful talks they’ve had. He thought about how selfless, caring and brave Keith was in their mission to save the universe. He thought about all those looks Keith gives him, all those smooth lines he says. He thought about how special Keith was and how special Keith makes him feel. All of it, he thought about all of it and eventually realized that... he was in love with Keith.

When he finally admitted it to himself, he didn’t know what to do about it. When he saw Keith after his realization, he had a full panic and flusteredly came up with an excuse to be somewhere else and fled the room. As he fled out of the room, he bumped into Shiro.

“Hey, Lance. Woah, you look flustered, what’s up?”

Lance spluttered and hesitated. He thought about whether to tell Shiro and decided that Shiro would definitely be supportive and might even have some advice. Lance took a deep breath and began to tell him.

“I’ve been thinking lately and I... I’ve realized that I’m in love with Keith. I think he feels the same way but honestly... that kind of scares me. I really care about him and I’ve never felt this strongly about someone before. I’m scared that I’ll mess it up, and I know he deserves the best,” Lance told him, hugging his arms together and looking down.

Shiro put his hand on his shoulder. “Lance, Keith really cares about you too and no matter what happens, he would never try to hurt you. If you really care about him that deeply, then you don’t need to worry about messing it up if you two decide to date, just the fact that that scares you shows that you’ll treat him right. You should tell him how you feel, and know that I’m always here to support you.”

Lance smiles. “Thanks, Shiro.”

Shiro pats him on the back. “Anytime, Lance.”

“Go and be with the ones you love.”

Everyone had been busy lately with the preparations to go back in space so Lance had gotten to avoid his feelings for Keith for the time, but when he heard Shiro say that, he knew it was time to face him. He was going to confess to the man he loved and ask him out to dinner with his family tonight.

Lance started to panic. To have something to do and calm down, he goes to feed Kaltenecker in the room where all the animals hang out in the garrison. He pets Kaltenecker and talks to her. “What if he doesn’t actually like me, or what if I’m too much for him? I’m really scared to tell him,” he says, while she nuzzles against his hand. “Love is about being vulnerable.” He remembers his own words in his guide to love for Hunk and stops petting Kaltenecker and whispers “he’s worth it though.”

“Who’s worth it?”

Lance screams and turns to see Keith heading towards him with Kosmo.

Keith laughs at his scream. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you. I was just coming over to get some food and play with Kosmo and I saw you. So yeah, who’s worth what?”

Lance looks at Keith, who’s smiling at him while petting his beloved wolf. “You. You’re worth everything.” he confesses.

Keith stops petting Kosmo to look at him seriously. “What?” he whispered softly.

“I’m in love with you, Keith.” Keith just looks back at him in surprise. “You swooped me off my feet. I thought I was the one who charmed others but you beat me completely.”

Keith just stood there for a moment, processing what Lance had just said. “Really? You’re in love with me? Mullet and all?” he whispered.

“Mullet and all.” Lance takes Keith’s hands and looked him in the eye. “Keith, will you come over to dinner with me and my family tonight?”

Keith squeezes Lance’s hands, smiles fondly at him and says “Of course I will.”

Keith goes to his mom to ask for help with what he should wear. His mom dresses him in something super gaudy she said is traditional galra courting wear, but he doesn’t say anything about it cuz it’s his mom and he doesn’t want to disrespect her or culture or anything. When he walks out, Shiro sees the outfit, just says the word no, and drags him off and brings in “the fashion team”. Somehow it becomes an outing for the whole group and new friends from the garrison (minus Lance, who has a similar experience but with his family instead) to go to the mall. Keith is forced to try multiple outfits Allura, Romelle, Hunk and Rizavi pick out for him and they eventually find one they all like. They have fun at the mall, trading for things, trying out the food and just messing around. Keith sees that Shiro had also asked someone out from the garrison that he had gotten to know and they seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves.

Lance and Keith meet up at the garrison dressed up. Lance takes Keith’s hands and kisses it, whispering “you look handsome, mullet”. Keith blushes and smiles back, whispering back “you look handsome too, loverboy.” Lance holds his hand between them. “So you saw our shows while you were away?” he asks, eyebrow raised with a smirk. “I couldn’t pass up a chance to watch you loverboy” Keith replies, smirking back at him. Lance laughs and they head out.

Keith squeezes Lance’s hand as they stand at the door and moves to hold his arm as Lance’s parents open the door. Keith is nervous at first, but soon they bond over the good food and exchanging stories about Lance embarrassing himself. Lance’s family love him and can tell and appreciate the stories Keith tells them about their adventures and they appreciate how much Keith cares for Lance. Lance gets in a few teases at Keith in there too, but he’s outnumbered so Lance gets his share of embarrassment that night. After dinner they head out to have some fun alone. But before they leave though, Keith asks for something from Veronica he doesn’t let Lance hear.

When they leave Lance’s house, still before dark, Keith takes out a flower, the same kind of flower he had given Lance before that matched his eyes, and puts the flower in Lance’s hair. Lance smiles fondly at Keith and pulls out a flower crown, made from real flowers that were purple, and puts it on Keith’s head. “After you got me those flowers, I made it my mission to find flowers that were a shade of purple that reminded me of your eyes.” Keith chuckles at that and kisses Lance on the cheek. “You are really special, Lance,” he whispers as he moves some of Lance’s hair around his ear. Keith takes out a blindfold from his pocket. “I want to take you somewhere, but I want to keep it a surprise. Is it ok if I put this blindfold on you until we get there?”

“I trust you, team leader.”

They have some fun with Keith leading Lance in a blindfold to their destination. Keith finally takes the blindfold off of Lance and they’re on top of the black lion, right before sunset in a place that lets them see the sky beautifully. They sit down. “I thought maybe we could watch our last sunset on Earth together and maybe do some stargazing. What do you think?” Keith asks as he watches Lance react. “The view of the sky is beautiful but it’s nothing compared to you,” Lance whispers to him in response, moving some hair out of Keith’s face.

“Lance... you always seemed to be sad that you weren’t able to charm anyone but... you charmed me. You know exactly who you are and what you have to offer. You were fun to be around even when we teased each other, you supported me when Shiro left and when I became the paladin of the black lion and you’ve always had my back and saved my life multiple times. I love you too, Lance.”

Lance smiled fondly at Keith’s confession and cupped his hands around Keith’s face as Keith put his arms around his neck. They closed their eyes and leaned in and pressed their lips together, soft but full of fire and love. They continued to kiss and enjoy being with each other as the night passed and they stargazed.

American musician and conservative activist Theodore Anthony “Ted” Nugent would not ruled out a potential 2018 Senate bid in an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation (TheDCNF).

“I’m always very interested in making my country and the great state of Michigan great again and there is nothing I wouldn’t do to help in any way I possibly can,” Nugent told TheDCNF in an interview Wednesday.

Nugent shared a story from West Michigan Politics, a local Michigan political blog, which entertained the idea of a Ted Nugent 2018 Senate run Tuesday.

Michigan’s 2018 U.S. Senate race is likely to garner a lot of attention, as the state went red for a presidential election for the first time since 1988. Incumbent Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow, elected in 2000, successfully held off Republican challengers in 2006 and 2012.

“If these GOP sonsabitches don’t get it right this time I will come charging in as the ultimate WE THE PISSED OFF PEOPLE Mr FixIt Consitutional firebreathing shitkicker candidate from hell!” Nugent said on his official Facebook page, sharing the blog post.

“Though we dodged the toxic blue bullet on November 8 and showed that the real Michigan is bright red, the embarrassing high-crime blue smudges in the state must be fixed and removed ASAP,” Nugent asserted, likely referring to the urban centers that regularly vote overwhelmingly Democrat.

Nugent said that in order to restore faith in the government, Constitutional accountability is the answer.

While news has emerged that Michigan conservative activists and a number of party officials are itching for Robert Ritchie aka Kid Rock to run in 2018, it’s Nugent who is throwing candidate-sized political punches. (RELATED: Kid Rock For U.S. Senate 2018?)

“What sort of anti-American fool doesn’t believe we need secure borders?” and “What sort of Michael Moore freak sides with criminals instead of law enforcement heroes?” Nugent asked incredulously.

“Who on God’s good green earth can possibly support the redistribution of hard working Americans’ earnings to people unwilling to earn their own way?” he continued. “We the people are justifiably fed up with ‘Fedzilla’ and bureaucrats of every stripe,” he asserted.

Stabenow defeated former Rep. Pete Hoekstra by nearly one million votes (58 percent to 39 percent) in 2012. Democrat Gary Peters defeated Republican candidate Terry Lynn Land by 13 points in 2014, even as Republicans held on to the governorship and other offices down ballot.

“Ted Nugent is definitely someone who is in Michigan, he is involved in the public debates here, and he was really there for Donald Trump when he was needed,” Scott Hagerstrom, State Director for the Donald Trump campaign told TheDCNF.

“I would certainly welcome him giving it a hard look,” he said. “Ted [Nugent] would be the perfect person to tie together the Trump coalition with the Reagan Democrats and blue collar Democrats down river and in Macomb County,” Hagerstrom added, referring to birthplace of Reagan Democrats outside of Detroit.

Nugent said that he would have to determine if his candidacy could, “provide meaningful upgrades and improvements in the American quality of life for the most productive and truly needy amongst us.” He also mentioned the fact that he will be 70 years old in 2018, and said that “complete support” from his family is “imperative.”

If he does decide to run, Nugent said that his campaign slogan would be, “Make Michigan, Michigan again,” and he explained what that would mean. “My beloved birth state of Michigan still has godawful rules, laws and regulations that are more akin to Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Massachusetts than the real Michigan so I remain poised to do what I can,” he explained.

Nugent said that his campaign song would be “a very loud ‘Stranglehold.’”

He would run on a platform of Fiscal/Constitutional accountability, living within our means and eliminating the counterproductive regulatory obstacles for hard working “Michiganiacs.”

Nugent is strongly supportive of President Donald Trump’s performance in the Oval Office thus far. “He is addressing and acting upon the most obvious needed upgrades good Americans have been craving and demanding for a very long time,” Nugent said.
