❛ don’t worry, i can handle this. ❜
He walked into The Flower Mill just in time to see the owner trying to load boxes of ingredients in their places. The other staff were busy serving some customers, and so Ayden felt weird just to stand there as a regular and watch while she was working on the task.
"Well, I mean, sure I believe you can handle it, but four hands would be more efficient than two in this case, don't you think?" He offered with a friendly smile, as there was no harm in doing something nice to others, even though they did not even know each other's name.

❛ just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn’t mean they’re lost forever. ❜
Alice looked at this pretty owner of the Flower Mill, smiling. She was half way through a hot mocha, a drink she might never know if she had enjoyed in the past, when the talk went deep and her mind was geared up for a challenge.
"What does that mean to you then?" She asked Angela, patiently and with a mild smile, "If that doesn't mean they're lost forever, then it means they will always get back to their first path?"

[...] "Thank you!" The demigoddess spoke, quite pleased. "I had never expected what happened to happen, though I guess that should be a consideration with as many powerful demigods are there." Angela was just pleased that no one was hurt. Siwoo had not been in the area either, and so, there was little desire of the demigoddess to find that individual. If found, she only hoped they got they help they needed. But, she was not foolish either. What came with those roses also came with a hidden camera system. Smiling, the demigoddess tried to skirt lingering on the issue that happened weeks ago. "Well, after looking at the remodeling for the bathroom, it seemed best to just do the whole cafe since I had to close anyway. Flower Mill needed a bit of an update. So, more modern with even more flowers. All real. It's astounding what a bit of magic can do."
Erik listened intently to the cafe’s owner's words, collecting the clues and connecting the dots.
With the implication of the cafe’s new look being the result of an unexpected circumstance, along with the mention of  ‘powerful demigods’, they likely got something to do with the makeover of The Flower Mill. He did not have to know, that was for sure. But his curiosity was stirred up from its sleep, making him wonder what happened that made Angela refurbish the whole coffee shop despite the inevitable inconvenience following it.
“Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think something must have happened to the bathroom, probably caused by a powerful demigod?” He voiced his guess, keeping his tone still at the level of harmless nosiness.
Erik took a few steps closer to the flowers on the wall, his fingers touching the fresh petals gently as if he were afraid of hurting them. Turning his head to look back at the demigoddess, he smiled, his grey eyes went warmer in the cosy lights.
“Sometimes I wish all that magic and supernatural powers could make are flowers, trees, and things that are pretty and non-destructive. The world would be a much more beautiful place to live, don’t you think?”

Closed starter for a very special mother and son @mpxangela
As Spring fast approached, it could be considered quite the lovely day to take a walk, to familiarize himself with the island through something beyond the memories and dreams of its residents; no, still so new to Mount Phoenix, Morpheus opted to experience this exploration personally. And that was what he did, wandering the streets of the city in his messy bun and long black coat. He may have been noticed, he may not have been; it mattered not to him.
What did matter to him was once he arrived in Central Park; a lovely place, full of daydreams and imagination; he could thrive here, of course. But one thing in particular caught his attention--a mother and son walking a puppy along a path and, gradually, a warm smile spread to his lips. He remained still for a moment, just waiting...waiting...until he managed to snag the boy's attention and the god's smile grew just slightly more, his hand waving to give him a friendly wave.

In Deep Water
Closed starter for a the kind colleague with coffee @mpxangela
First order of official business came shortly after his arrival to the island. He had barely settled in to his apartment, let alone his new role as chief of police when one of his colleagues muttered about having to make coffee actually in the legit coffee pot at work as opposed to going to their favorite shop downtown owned and operated by one of their own. And why was that? Something about every sink and toilet being...broken? Sounded very suspicious. Something that the police--and an engineer--should investigate. To ensure there had been no foul play and also that everything was structurally sound; having a complete disentigration of the plumbing between buildings because of an imbalance in the pipes might cause more issues with the infrastructure. Not that the city needed a huge sink hole downtown...
So he set off to the Flower Mill, first speaking with the surrounding businesses to determine their own plumbing was working properly--and to discuss whether or not they had seen or heard anything suspicious on the day the coffee shop had its unfortunate event--but then eventually ended up at the shop in question. He stood at the door, noting the signs, but seeing movement inside. With Quan in tow on his lead, the massive hound's head reaching near to his shoulder and sniffing at the air as Erlang Shen knocked on the door, badge glinting in the sunlight, the uniform a clear indication that this was not a social call.

Marigolds
starter for the lovely @mpxangela ,
She stood by the pastry's door, admiring the flower arrangements around the door frame. Angela always had an amazing sense of aesthetic, especially when it came to [BAKERY]. "Pink marigolds." Hecate murmured to herself before finally stepping inside. Being methodical about the right time to visit, there weren't that many customers inside and Hecate made her way to the counter closer to the young girl working as a cashier. "Hi lovely. Can you get Angela for me? I'm a friend." The cashier was a familiar face, so the request passed by without any resistance. Within a few seconds, Angela's features were visible and Hecate drew a large smile at the sight of her friend.   "Wow, here I was thinking you couldn't get any more beautiful." Her voice was sweet, like a proud aunt. "I hope this isn't a bad time. I did try to avoid rush hour. But either way my dear, how have you been these last, almost, two months?" Hecate had much to say, wanting to let it all out, but her focus was purely on knowing how Angela had been doing before swarming with any of her nonsense.

Neighborly Hospitality
starter for @mpxangela
Juyeon had been working for most of the day, hauling up boxes and placing them into his new apartment. It's a nice change, the energy in the air and the whole feeling of being somewhere that feels right. He set his next box down before fully stretching and moving to pop his joints a little to stop them from getting too stiff from the consistent up, down, back, and forth movements. He rolled his shoulders too, reaching up to rub at his neck to help ease any stiffness there before moving to continue what he was doing. Once he was nearly moved in and considering if he wanted to go out and eat something Juyeon heard a knock at the edge of his door. He paused what he was doing, turning around and looking curiously at the woman who stood there. "Hello? Am I making a lot of noise? I've been trying not to but if I'm disrupting something then I can promise I'm almost done-"

Heart's medicine
starter for the lovely @mpxangela , ✨
🏥 Asclepius General Hospital, Intensive care unit. Room 306.
Only a couple of days passed since he got there and yet it felt like a whole month. Cedric was understanding and considerate towards the nurses and medic's decision to keep him under close monitoring. After all, he had suffered multiple injuries and physical trauma for the last months so until all types of tests and exams were done, there'd be no way Cedric would be allowed out of the hospital.
He was grateful but impatient. There were things Cedric wanted to do, people he wanted to see but such desires weren't possible with his ass attached to the hospital bed. The thought of requesting to call someone passed his mind but once he had the phone in his hand, he realized no numbers of relevant people would return to his mind. Fuck. He would curse internally often these days. The morning started early for him, with further exams being taken even a visit by the hospital's psychologist. It wasn't easy to talk to a whole stranger, so the session was rather pointless at that time.
The frustration was mutual between Cedric and the psychologist, perhaps that was the reason the professional forgot to take his pen with him. And hearing a knock on the door, barely minutes after the doctor left, Cedric assumed they were back to retrieve the item. "Oh come doc, let me have something to draw with." He joked, looking away from the bedroom's door as he put the book away. But as Cedric's eyes landed on the figure near the door, it felt like he forgot to breathe. She was as beautiful as ever, with her delicate features and seemingly caring poise. "Angela, I-" He interrupted himself, trying to sit up as much as he could given his state.
Before he resumed speaking, a thought crossed his mind. Currently, Cedric is a brief example of the man he used to be. His body was much weakened and that could be seen by the amount of bruises, burn marks, and the IVs throughout his arms and face, but also, he was no longer as fit due to the malnourishment he experienced. Cedric wished he could've avoided having Angela see him like that. He felt bad for looking so bad and so frail and hoped he could've spoken to her in different circumstances. But at the same time, he couldn't help but feel a ray of sunshine in his heart by having her around.
"I'm sorry I didn't call you as I promised…" He couldn't think of anything else to say in that moment, Cedric just wanted to hear her. "I'm… a few months late…" He gave her a gentle smile and gestured to invite her to sit on the chair by his bed. "May I treat you with a hospital jelly? It's not as bad as people claim!" Cedric tried to sound comedic, and light-hearted as to try to ease up the circumstances.

❛ you look like you've got something to say. ❜
It worked.
His eyes widened in surprise at the revelation that it actually worked. For the first time ever, he managed to use the powers he supposedly inherited. And after some more or less helpful advice from his siblings this morning, Alex set a goal for himself to sow distrust between at least two people before the sun would go down.
Granted, he didn’t mean to be on the receiving end of that doubt—he hoped to be a silent spectator of a friendship crumbling or two co-workers competing or maybe even a break-up—but her tone was a start. He didn’t notice that his mouth opened as if to speak, but no sound was coming out, still too perplexed to decide on what to say.
He did it. Sure, he wasn’t entirely sure how he did it, and it might’ve been luck rather than actual skill, but her choice of words indicated that she didn’t really trust him. Or maybe that she might’ve gotten fed up with him looking at her as if he meant to make her head explode with his thoughts.
His lips briefly pressed into a line before they curved into a hybrid of a smile. “I actually have a lot to say.” The shrug, the shake of his head and the chuckle all happened simultaneously, and it was clear then that he took neither her nor himself seriously. It was all just a joke to him—she just happened to bear the brunt of the punchline.
“I just don’t think you’d really enjoy what I have to say.”

❛ heroes are made by the paths they choose, not by the powers they are graced with. ❜
Carter frequented the cafe enough that talking to the employees there wasn't anything new, and from what he gathered from Angela, she owned the place. She was so nice and sweetness seemed to drip from her fingertips, so it made sense to him that she'd own business that also needed tended care. 'A cup of coffee and a treat can make or break anyone's day' or so he thought.
"Indeed they are." He agreed, his little bag of goods in one hand while he held his drink in the other. They'd gotten carried into a conversation about something he was writing, a new story that was so eager to unfold on his journal every minute he wasn't busy. "Choosing to do 'good' is more defining than what you can do, and it's more impactful that way, don't you think?" He pondered for a moment, sipping his glorious sweet yet bitter (but in all the right ways) drink.

The way she speaks is that of experience. Eros’ face wears the expression of concern and if he wanted to, he could peer into her heart and find out what she meant by that— but he finds that rude when he could very well give her space to tell him, if she felt she wanted to. He hears her and he listens to her, taking a moment to think on her words before he thinks on his own and then speaks.
“At times the hardest lessons are the most important. Would you like to talk about it?” He asks gentle as ever.
Before him in the wide space of the city park his children run free. They don’t have the same worries just yet and he likes that for them. For now, they don’t know the things he has experience and are too far off to hear what she might say.

❛  oh god. please tell me you haven’t just heard me talk to myself.  ❜
first meeting: currently accepting
loren is very gifted in the ways of hiding his true emotions behind neutral facial expressions or friendly smiles, holding a poker face like some of the best gamblers around. he makes absolutely zero percent use of this skill when his boss asks him that question, the smile starting to break through on his face automatically.
“yes ma’m,” he teases, trying for a firm tone though he doesn’t stop grinning at all. in fact, the expression only worsens as he meets angela’s gaze, his shiteating grin more than enough proof of how untrue his next words are. “i haven’t just heard you talk to yourself, boss.”
lifting a hand to salute her playfully, he then relaxes his entire stance as he passes her by to head towards the extra packages of coffee beans like he originally intended to. when he steps back past her to head into the coffee shop, he briefly pauses while he can still make eye contact. “completely unrelated to what we were just talking about, should i tell the others to steer clear from the pantry for half an hour or so? it sounded like you were on a very important call...”
as he lets his last words drift off, the grin returns to his face, and he quickly slips past her in order to not get smacked for his jokes.

❝ Oh I could stay by the fireplace forever. ❞
Noel's attention was taken from the crackling of the wood to the music box-like voice that was not too far from him and he nodded. He wasn't used to the cold or the need for so many layers of clothing just to try and keep him moving comfortably in this frozen inferno.
"It's very soothing."
Fireplaces were something he wasn't used to seeing yet he felt very fond of the concept already. The sound, the feeling... even the hypnotic dance of the flames as they consumed the pit and remained contained within such a small space.
"Oh, I'm sorry - Did I interrupt anything?" He smiled softly, sheepishly almost before taking a sip of his hot chocolate.

❛  here, i noticed you lost this earlier.  ❜
han looks over to see what angela’s holding in her hand, immediately brightening as he recognises the bracelet. “oh my god, thank you!” he chimes, reaching for it and immediately slipping it back around his wrist, clicking it closed properly so he won’t lose it a second time.
“thank you so much, noona!” he immediately beams at her, hugging the arm with the bracelet on to his chest and smiling at her with great warmth. “i thought i’d never find it again. this was a gift from my mother, you know? i would’ve been devastated if it had really been gone.”
rubbing his hand over the beautiful white gold chain links, he then looks behind the woman. “i didn’t keep you from your work, did i?”

Wooded Release
"Well…" Cedric chuckled, pressing his lips together into a smile as he found a way into his next words. "I can turn into a raven, so I have been told." The reveal wasn't that much a twist and Cedric would have no problem delving more into that topic if Angela were interested. "I've done it once as far as I'm aware. But I have no recollection of it, sadly. So it's not necessarily helpful right now." Cedric shrugged but kept his cheerful stance.
Angela's hesitation was noticeable, but above anything else, understandable. The idea of physical closeness wasn't something that bothered him too much, however Cedric would make sense it would happen solely if Angela would be okay with such. "No need to apologize. Don't be silly." Cedric remained mostly immobile, letting Angela adjust as necessary to be as comfortable as possible.
"I have to be honest, it's not too shabby." As she was sitting by the edge of his thigh, it felt Angela could slip off at any second and that was the only thing making him uncomfortable. In addition, Cedric stretched his arm, reaching slightly further than where Angela was. He could feel the rain so it meant part of Angela was still at risk of being under it. "Let me just… Because you're still not entirely safe from the menace of this ungodly water." Cedric spoke with a playful tone and carefully placed his palms on her waist just to make her body press against his chest more. His palm reached outward again, it felt safer now.
For a moment Cedric leaned his head, nearly resting his chin on her shoulder, just so he could check on Bella. The dog wasn't too bothered by the conditions and happily rested next to them. "I hope that basket is sturdy or maybe water-proof? All that food being wasted to the rain is blasphemy." His voice was soft now, perhaps Cedric was too becoming cosier by the second, considering his growing affection towards Angela. "Are you cold? Want my jacket? My body temperature doesn't drop easily, so I'll be okay without it..."
Angela was pleased that Cedric thought it would work. She did not necessarily mind getting wet, but she did not think it was best for her to remain outside nor him either. So, she followed his steps toward the alcove. Hopefully, the storm would not last long, and they would not have to deal with whatever might could happen in such a storm. So, she said little as she let him guide her, and carefully, she entered the small alcove, trying to make sure he had space.
As the both attempted to make the tight space worked, she paused watching him. "Yeah. Too bad neither of us can do magic." She mused. Angela knew very well she could transform into a small creature, but she'd be without any means to communicate with him and there was no way she'd be able to transform without some rather awkward conversations afterward.
At Cedric's suggestion, she nearly questioned whether she should just transform, a bright red hue pulling to her cheeks. "Uh." She thought for a second. I was not the first time this happened, but last time, she had enough liquor to help make it not as awkward. Her one glass of wine sure was not enough.
"Yeah. We can do that. Sorry, Cedric." She apologized. Angela's arms lingered on his shoulders a second as she moved into position. She carefully moved so that she was lightly seated upon his lap, sliding slightly so that her back was up against his chest. "Hopefully, the storm does not last too long." She mutters softly. "I know you are not comfortable."

Christmas Sentence Starters: Accepting!
He looked up from his desk, a bit confused before realizing what the other had spoken. “Ah~  Shokran!” Standing up he reached over to take the hot drink before sitting down. He motioned to her to do the same. “It smells amazing!” Taking a sip he nodded before giving a satisfied sigh. “This is really good - do you mind sharing the recipe?”
