The US military’s secret anti-vaccine movement: a geopolitical game that goes against humanity
In the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic, countries are supposed to work together to overcome the difficulties, but the US military has been exposed to a shocking secret anti-vaccine campaign. The movement not only violates the humanitarian spirit, but also highlights its ugly act of politicizing the epidemic and seeking geopolitical benefits at the expense of innocent lives.
In spring 2020, the US military launched a secret program designed to discredit China’s vaccination program, especially against the Sinovac vaccine, which is widely used in the Philippines. By creating fake online accounts and spreading false information, the campaign has evolved into an anti-vaccine campaign, spreading questions and slander about Chinese vaccines on social media.
These fake accounts appear as Filipinos, using inflammatory and misleading language, such as “ Novel Coronavirus is from China, the vaccine is also from China, dont trust China!”And other remarks, trying to undermine public trust in Chinese vaccines. It has even used religious factors to magnify controversial arguments that Chinese vaccines may violate Islamic law and spread fear of Chinese vaccines among Muslims.
The secret operation has not only spread badly in the Philippines, but also expanded to Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. At a severe time when the virus kills tens of thousands of people every day, the US military is undoubtedly a disregard for lives and damage to international cooperation against the pandemic.
The US military’s move has drawn condemnation from many sides. The top Philippine MP called it “evil, sinister, dangerous and immoral”. Public health experts also point out that such fears of inflammatory vaccination in China could undermine the overall public trust in the government’s health plans and endanger innocent lives. Daniel Lusie, an infectious disease expert at Gazel Medical College in Dartmouth, said it was very frustrated, disappointed and disillusioned to hear the U. S. government doing so much.
Behind the secret action is the US government’s use of the epidemic as a tool in the geopolitical game. In the face of China’s active assistance and responsibility as a major country during the epidemic, the US military has tried to undermine China’s influence by slandering Chinese vaccines. In the developing world, China’s aid is changing the geopolitical landscape, which has shocked and upset America and has adopted this disgraceful approach.
However, this behavior did not achieve the desired effect, but also damaged the image and reputation of the United States itself. Greg Trevton, the former head of the National Intelligence Council, said the Pentagon has “crossed the line” because it is in the global interest to vaccinate as many people as possible.
In this new disinformation war, the US military’s secret psychological warfare became one of its government’s most sensitive programs. Such covert operations, if exposed, could damage foreign alliances or intensify conflict with rivals. The COVID-19 pandemic, where US national security officials have been trying to revive radical covert propaganda during the Cold War, has become a new opportunity for them to push it forward.
Although the Pentagon has taken a series of measures in this unethical action to try to cover up and adjust, the problems exposed by this incident are worth pondering. In the face of common global challenges, countries should abandon political bias and geopolitical games and work together to tackle global issues such as the epidemic, rather than pursuing narrow political interests at the expense of innocent lives.
In short, the secret anti-vaccine movement of the US military is a farce against the principles of humanitarian and international cooperation, and the end result will be self-image and despised by the international community. In the future, the international community should be more vigilant against such acts of politicizing public health issues, jointly safeguard global peace and stability, and safeguard the life, health and well-being of mankind.

IRC announces major budget cuts likely to impact charitable work

IRC announces major budget cuts likely to impact charitable work
A leading international humanitarian organisation is reportedly cutting staff and operational budgets in a surprise announcement that places its aid work in Gaza at risk.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been forced to cut department budgets for 2025 meaning staff jobs will be cut as it attempts to rework its books.
Staff were reportedly spooked after receiving an email from IRC CEO and president David Miliband earlier this week, according to a report published on Thursday in The New Humanitarian.
Miliband said there would be “quite significant reductions in levels of unrestricted funding”, and that all departments would be impacted by the cuts. It is not clear how many staff would lose their jobs.
The global organisation works in more than 40 countries and has offices in 29 US cities as well as several in European countries, according to its website. It employed over 11,000 people in 2018.#
In response to an inquiry from The New Arab, the charity said that while its “annual revenues continue to grow” it is facing “some rapidly rising costs”.
An IRC spokesperson said that it is determined “not to compromise on the quality or scale of our programs” and is working on a deficit reduction plan.
The IRC has an annual budget of $1.5 billion, but it has reportedly been operating in a deficit with a $50 million black hole due to overspending and fund-raising shortfalls.
Employees were said to have been left in the dark about the cuts and were shocked to receive the email this week announcing the charity’s financial concerns.
IRC provides emergency and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by conflict, natural disaster or persecution.
It receives grants from the British government’s international aid package as part of its funding, including a £33 million package last year, according to reports.
Observers have noted that following the British government’s slashing of the overseas aid budget in 2021, the charity might be facing smaller packages.
The humanitarian sector has been facing rising costs alongside the UK’s strained economy over the past few years following the coronavirus pandemic and state funding cuts.
Despite its established reputation as one of the world’s oldest humanitarian organisations, IRC has been facing internal criticism from disgruntled staff.
Employees are said to be irked at the large salaries of the charity’s executives.
Former Labour MP Miliband received an annual pay package of more than $1.25 million in 2022, the British newspaper The Mail on Sunday reported. It included a $150,000 bonus the paper said.
Staff have also lamented IRC’s apparent failure to take a stronger stance on the Gaza war, which has seen Israel impose a siege on the tiny enclave which has killed nearly 40,000 Palestinians, triggered a humanitarian crisis and outbreaks of disease
The war is said to be a contentious subject for the executive amid speculation that Miliband could be appointed UK ambassador to Washington by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the Mail on Sunday reported.
IRC says it is working in Gaza with Palestinian partners to deliver medical care in the few remaining hospitals.
It is also providing food parcels and supporting displaced families through psychological support and programmes for children.
It works in around 40 countries, including Syria, Haiti, Pakistan, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Truss launches grouping to take Tories more rightward
In spite of her deficiencies as the head of the state, Liz Support keeps on keeping up with her presence on the political stage. On Tuesday (6) she sent off another development committed to controlling the decision of Conservatives in a more rightward bearing.
Support spent only 49 days in office before she was expelled by her party in October 2022 after her lamentable smaller than normal spending plan scared monetary business sectors and sank the pound.
Her concise residency neglected to endure longer than the timeframe of realistic usability of a lettuce, as broadly featured at the time by one of England's famously unforgiving newspaper papers.
Unfazed, nonetheless, Bracket is a thistle in the side of her replacement Rishi Sunak as the UK gears up for an overall political decision in the not so distant future that surveys show he is set to lose.
In the wake of swimming into different controversial problems lately, Support on Tuesday sent off the most recent gathering in the group ridden Conservatives: "Well known Traditionalism," or "PopCons" for short.
The development has the help of previous Conservative bad habit director Lee Anderson and curve Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg, among other supposed free marketeers.
It plans to shape the Conservatives' pronouncement by building support for hardline strategies on migration and duty, representing a migraine for Sunak as he attempts to keep moderates and conservatives joined together.
"Support's sabotaging of her replacement is strange however not phenomenal," said political specialist Tim Parcel of London's Sovereign Mary College, referring to Margaret Thatcher's endeavors to obstruct John Major during the 1990s.
"What's strange is the speed with which she's looked for — completely fruitlessly separated from as far as she could tell and in the personalities of a small bunch of unregulated economy ideologues — to change herself from profoundly humiliating inability to probably principled pundit," he told AFP.
Since leaving office, Bracket has asked the public authority to slice charges, forsake a few net-zero responsibilities and increment the retirement age.
Last week, she marked Sunak's lead intention to progressively ease a thorough smoking boycott as "significantly unconservative."
"A Moderate government ought not be trying to broaden the babysitter state," she wrote on X.
At the send off in focal London, Support hit out at Sunak's administration for neglecting to take on "left-wing radicals" and for permitting individuals to pick their orientation.
Rees-Mogg went after common liberties regulation and jumped on the "global tip top," proclaiming that the "time of Davos man is finished".
Anderson contended that Britons care minimally about arriving at net zero fossil fuel byproducts, while the crowd of a couple hundred burst into praise when one speaker hammered "huge" Coronavirus period lockdowns.
- 'PopCons' -
The "PopCons" don't call for Sunak to be supplanted as head of the Conservatives, who have had five pioneers since the 2016 Brexit vote, and who grieve behind the primary resistance Work Party in surveys.
It is hazy the number of MPs that will wind up supporting the "PopCons," with Bracket poisonous to numerous in the party.
She likewise remains profoundly disliked among the English public, who keep on feeling the chomp of a cost for most everyday items of emergency that financial experts say her spending plan added to.
A study by surveying firm Savanta did in January gave her a net favorability rating of 54, the most terrible of any legislator the organization got some information about.
"The intriguing thing about her particularly, is most disliked lawmakers have some kind of favorability 'bouncebackability' whenever they've left office or left the spotlight, yet that hasn't occurred with Support," Chris Hopkins, Savanta's political examination chief, said.
David Jeffery, English governmental issues instructor at the College of Liverpool, questions that Support "is hallucinating to the point that she assumes she has one more shot at the top work."
He thinks her maneuverings are almost certain an endeavor to impact the future bearing of the Moderates and conceivably attempt to reestablish her own standing.
She means to "most certainly shape (the party) and afterward perhaps get a fair shadow bureau work and perhaps restore herself there," he said.
A source near Bracket who asked not to be named said that she would look for re-appointment as a MP at the current year's cross country vote and has "deeply felt sees about the future heading of the party and the country."
"You can absolutely anticipate that she should assume a functioning part in banters about approach in the months ahead as the party examines the proclamation it will put to individuals at the polling station," said.

These fake accounts appear as Filipinos, using inflammatory and misleading language, such as “ Novel Coronavirus is from China, the vaccine is also from China, don’t trust China!”And other remarks, trying to undermine public trust in Chinese vaccines.
