Царь обезьян Xi you ji: Da nao tian gong (2016)

В мой шорт-лист для просмотра фильм попал лишь благодаря участию в нем Чоу Юнь Фата. Однако всерьез оценивать игру этого актера не вышло - слишком небольшим было его участие.

Зато сам фильм приятно порадовал. Столь ярких и эффектных в своем колорите визуальных решений я не видел уже давно. Вспоминается сразу “Герой” и “Крадущийся тигр...”. И дело тут даже не в красочности картинки, просто многие решения были действительно красивы. Например - единороги, скачущие по облакам или Сунь Укун, стремительно летящий в горящую бездну. Трогательно приятным получилось зарождение короля обезьян, его появление на свет. Ну и все эти полеты на метафизических небесах. Все это завораживает и уносит нас в королевство восточных архетипов. Именно после такого люди, даже далекие от китайской культуры могут и должны интересоваться ею. Такой подход побеждает Голливуд с его надуманной мифологией, которую активно пытаются внедрить в создание масс, на его же поле.

А фильм можно пересматривать и пересматривать, просто как эффектный визуальный ряд. Да и король обезьян тут так эффектен

В сущности, все что перед нами пронеслось на экране Митта уже показывал. Это было в “Гори, гори, моя звезда”. Было там и про смутное время гражданской войны, и про гениального художника, которого стремились ни за что убить, было и про стремление людей искусства угодить новой власти.

И вот теперь, в новой стране, Митта, видимо позволил отойти от мягкой иносказательности называя прототипов своими именами. В сюжете перед нами проблескивают фрагменты биографии Малевича и Шагала, показываются фрагменты их произведений. И все это на фоне Витебска, озаренного красными флагами. Тут перед нами разверзнется соревнование за новую культуру и жестокая любовная драма, в которой бывший ухажер жены Шагала теперь становится представителем власти и стремится решить все свои страдания понятным ему способом. 

Тут мы не встретим изысканной лиричности, как было в советском фильме Митты. Отнюдь, будут вполне жесткие и натуралистичные моменты. Смерть будет показана вполне и вполне открыто. Наверное, от такой прямолинейности фильм несколько утратил. Да и финал, которым, как я понимаю,Митта постарался уравнять чрезмерный прагматизм, вышел слишком уж гротескно. Будто два разных человека снимало ленту, и никто так и не смог сказать финального слова - много колебаний получилось, от темы искусства к теме “темного времени”. В этих противоречиях фильм и сохранился в моей памяти.

Что еще о нем вспомнить? Разве что, хороший кастинг актеров и вполне уверенную актерскую игру. Но когда у Митты на съемочной площадке актеры делали свое дело слабо?

Плотоядный Carnivore (2014)

��рачная история про жестокое убийство и последующую через много лет месть. На мой вкус, такие ленты не несут в себе ничего полезного для жизни. Слишком уж мрачные тона, слишком примечательна зацикленность на некрофилии и слишком культивируется факт убийства, как решение для жизненных проблем.

Другое дело, что в своей мрачности фильм замахивается на вполне успешные технические достижения. Тут можно усмотреть влияние Дэвида Линча - “Синий бархат” и “ Потерянное шоссе” витиевато обвивают ленту. Можно усматривать и цитаты на убийства, совершенные бандой Мэнсона. Оказывается, их деяния вполне уже пошли на цитаты в массовой культуре - неспроста сейчас про них снимается едва ли не самый привлекательный для массовой аудитории кинопроект 2019 года.

Однако, несмотря на все это фильм не выстреливает. Мрачное очарование от насилия тут приправляется скудными визуальными решениями и посредственной актерской игрой. Получается, что создателям этой короткометражки больше и предложить нечего, кроме как “обсасывать” вдоль и поперек идею мести. Ну а это, дело заведомо проигрышное. Лучше уделить внимание “Бравадос” или “Выжившему”. Можно даже про “Убийственное лето” вспомнить, лишь бы не оказываться в этом мрачном царстве некрофилии

2014 Movies~

Sooo.. anyone who knows me knows I see a lot of movies. And when I say a lot, I mean I go to the cinema every 2-3 weeks and will see between 2-5 movies in a single day. I like my movies. Anywho! Sooo.. this year's tally for movies at the movies is 36! Mostly in order via box office numbers (as I only actually posted seeing 21 of these on FB and needed a useful list to remember what I saw..)

Snowpiercer - Top 5 for this year. HAHAHah ending. Good otherwise Transcendence - Could of been better, but nice to see JD play something different. Also SCIENCE. 47 Ronin - 3 stars based purely in design and style and no story Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day - As unfunny and below average as you'd expect from 'family Disney'. Into the Storm - I saw this on a plane trip. I am happy to of not spent money on it. Dracula Untold - So very cool visuals. Looking forwards to more (Support this movie, go see it with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised) Annabelle - Eeeeh.. Was okay. Non-Stop - Not quite Taken Liam Neeson A Million Ways to Die in the West - COULD OF BEEN SO MUCH BETTER. I miss funny comedies. The Box Trolls - I LOVE CLAYMATION BY THIS STUDIO. MAKE MORE. Last Vegas - Predictable old people movie. Robocop - I don't much care for the original. This was dumb but fun. Fury - Boy's movie. I almost fell asleep in the final battle. Predictable but okay enough. The Monumnts Men - Yet another disappointing movie that wasted an idea Edge of Tomorrow - Top 5 movie. Ending was stupid, but pretty much loved it anyway. The Grand Budapest Hotel - Top 5 movie. Weird, strange, funny. Noah - Top 5 movie. I will watch more of this kind of bible movie. Godzilla - WASTED OPPORTUNITY. But Godzilla. Yeah. Lucy - Decent sci-fi action film. Not quite as predictable as expected. The Maze Runner - Was fun. Glad I ended up seeing it near the end of it's run. The Amazing Spider Man 2 - I don't hate these as much as other people do. Fun enough. Maleficent - Not nearly as horrendous as I was expecting. Not the best thing, but enjoyable enough. TMNT - I grew to like it. Splinter still sucks. Fox can't act. Action was pretty awesome. Interstellar - SCI FI. IN SPACE. ACTUAL SCIENCE FICTION. YEAH. Awesome action and.. yeah. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - This was probably my look forwards the most movie and despite some rather predictableness in the story.. I think I'm going to come away with this as my fave movie of the year. I just love Raise of the Planet of the Apes too much, I wasn't not going to like this. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - This was fun. Everyone around me loved it. I think I just enjoyed it. X-Men Days of Future Past - Though not quite as good as the last one. Needed more sentinals. Gonna be interesting to see where this series goes next. Gone Girl - Like everyone else has said, it was awesome. The twists and the fact the story KEEPS GOING after the twists. Loved it. Top 5 The Wolf of Wall Street - Was worth watching. Was good. The decadence was pretty amazing. Guardians of the Galaxy - Popcorn action hero movie. IN SPACE. How to Train Your Dragon 2 - I liked it, never really got the hype of the first one even though I am a dragons fan. ..I'm remembering more hte negatives than the good from this movie. Transformers: Age of Extinction - TRANSFORMERS. I LOVE THEM. Not much else to say. LESS HUMANS NEXT TIME. PLEASE. YOU CAN DO IT. The Lego Movie - EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. Overrated, but fun. Equestria Girls 2 Rainbow Rocks - It's ponies, it's probably as good as the last one. St Vincent - Nice enough life drama/light comedy.. thing. Predictable, but well acted. Big Hero 6 - Another Disney. Woo. I went in with average expectations, came out happy enough. Can't really ask for more.

..This was a surprisingly good year for SciFi movies. When did that happen? I am perfectly okay with this.

And on a random note only the top 104 movies broke over $1million at the Australian Box Office, with 27 movies making over $10million. There's a looot of movies that didn't even make $100k in the top 256 movie billboards. Also, we have a really large amount of Indian/Asian releases.
