Moon 2
[Previous] [Start] [Next]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Moonpaw, wake up. We have to keep moving. Moonpaw.”
Moonpaw mrrps in sleepy protest as she's jostled awake by her brother's paw digging insistently into her shoulder. She cracks one bleary eye open, momentarily disoriented by her surroundings.
Right. They’re not at home. They don't have a home.
She stands, stiff from sleeping on bark, her muscles protesting as she arches her back and stretches her legs. The sun that slots into their log from an opening at the top paints the inside in streaks of rich reds and browns, so different from the cool, smooth stone she’s used to waking up to. She misses her moss nest fiercely in that moment, the weight of her grief threatening to overwhelm her, but she forces the feeling away with a shake of her head. There is no comfortable, warm nest for her to return to. Not now, not ever, and she needs to move on.
“Coming,” she mumbles sleepily, rubbing a paw against her eyes as Fogpaw turns and ducks out of the log. “How'd you sleep?” She stumbles out into the sunlight and shivers in the weak, earling morning newleaf air.
“I've certainly slept better,” Fogpaw mews, licking a paw and drawing it over one of his ears. “Best not to dwell on it. Breakfast first.”
Moonpaw nods, padding after Fogpaw as he weaves through the sparse mountain pines. She opens her mouth, scenting for prey, and sets her ears on a swivel to better hone in on the skittering of small paws through the bed of fallen pine needles that soften the cats' footfalls.
The breeze drifts the scent of mouse towards Moonpaw and her tail flicks up in excitement. She shoots a look Fogpaw's way and he nods and veers off in another direction, allowing her this hunt to chase his own prey.
Creeping forward, the words of her former mentor rings in her ears. Keep your paws light. Even so much as a scattered pebble will alert your catch to your presence. She never was able to complete her training and earn her warrior name, she thinks with a pang, but files that sadness away for later. She has enough information to know how to hunt, and she and Fogpaw will have plenty of time to practice now.
The mouse she's stalking shows itself, leaping onto the root of a tree, little whiskers twitching. Moonpaw waggles her haunches, preparing to launch herself at it, but as she leaps she slips on the loose pine needles underfoot and falls short of her catch. The mouse darts away and she lunges forward, hoping to snag it with a claw as it escapes, but it's too far from her outstretched paws and disappears into a hole in the ground.
“Star-damned trees,” Moonpaw growls to herself and sits back with a huff, her tail tip twitching. “Hunting on the mountain was so much easier.”
Prey continues to evade her for the rest of the afternoon. Squirrels run up trees, voles dive for cover under the leaf litter, and one particularly annoying chase after a songbird ends with Moonpaw landing in a puddle of mud.
She screeches with disgust, the bird long gone, and drags herself out of the mud to shake her fur. Her nose wrinkles in disgust at the state of her pelt. This is going to take ages to clean out of her white fur. Hopefully, Fogpaw is faring better with his hunt.
She follows her brother's scent trail to find him laden with mice, pawfuls of them at his feet. As he glances up and makes eye contact with her, the corner of his muzzle ticks up in amusement. “Rough hunt?”
“Do. Not,” Moonpaw huffs, eyeing his sleek, clean coat enviously. She drops herself next to him in a patch of sunlight and begins to groom her coat. Between mouthfuls of fur, she says, “we need to find someplace else on the territory to stay. This is no place for a mountain cat to settle.” She darts a pointed look at his small mountain of prey. “Except for you, maybe.”
Fogpaw mrrps a laugh and pushes a mouse towards her. “You can have some. I caught plenty.” He settles onto his paws and helps Moonpaw clear the mud from her fur. “I agree, though. I think we should look around the rockier places of our territory until we find a place that could work as a new camp.”
“A whole camp?” Moonpaw says doubtfully, tongue paused in her grooming. “I could settle for a couple of safe hollows in a rock. What do we need a whole camp for?”
“Rebuilding NimbusClan, of course.”
“Oh, Fogpaw–”
“No, Moon, seriously. I don't want to spend the rest of our days as rogues. I want–” he falters, eyeing her hesitantly before continuing. “I've always wanted a family, one like ours. Mom and Dad and us, it just… made me so happy, you know? I want that for myself one day.” He casts his eyes away from her, his shoulders hiking up around his ears, and Moonpaw knows he’s fighting back tears.
Moonpaw smiles gently at Fogpaw, her own eyes misting a little. “It made me happy too, Fogpaw. Makes me happy. They're watching over us in StarClan, I'm sure of it.” She curls her tail reassuringly over his back.
“I'm sure they are,” He murmurs, resting his head against hers. “I miss them.”
“I miss them, too.”
They sit that way for a while, purring softly with each other as the newleaf breeze plays over their fur. Eventually, they tuck into the mice Fogpaw caught, and then curl together to take a nap in the sunshine.

(Okay so yes I know moons are months and so far the timeline of the fic portions doesn’t exactly line up with that, but bear with me for the sake of storytelling purposes)

LONG ASK
Asphodelkit’s nose scrunched as Cootstorm entered the nursery. Pinekit let out a yawn, muzzling closer against Daffodilkit as Cootstorm began to chew the flowery white herb into a pulp.
Asphodelkit grumbles, standing up with her fur poofed out as Cootstorm approached her.
“Sit down, paw out.” Cootstorm grunted, using her clean paw to slap Asphodelkit, making the kitten sit with a huff.
As the sticky pulp was applied to Asphodelkit’s paw-pad, Pinekit couldn’t help but notice how she shivered at the touch, nose scrunched mouth shut.
Daffodilkit giggled, looking at Asphodelkit with an amused look.
“Be quiet, Daffy!” Asphodelkit whined, as Cootstorm moved onto the next paw.
“Sorry, Aphy, it’s just.. you look like a door mouse looking for seeds, with your head held that high!” Daffodlkit giggled. Pinekit snickered in agreement.
Asphodelkit stuck out her tongue at them. “Eugh, be quiet! It’s not my fault the flower smells so yucky!”
Pinekit’s head spiked up. “What do you mean?! I love the smell of yarrow!”
Asphodelkit shifted as Cootstorm applied the pulp to her hind paws.
“What do you mean?! It smells so.. so strong! Like buzzard-kill!”
“Nuh-uh! I think it smells sweet, like.. a pretty flower a bee would sleep in!”
“No way!”
Daffodilpaw burst into laughter.
Pinepaw stuck out his tongue at Asphodelkit, glaring at the she-kit as she glared back.
Cootstorm huffed, clearly disliking hearing the two kits speak at all. She stood up, walking over to Daffodlkit, who giggled.
Pinepaw let out a ‘hmph!’, laying down with his head in his paws.
Asphodelkit doesn’t like the smell of yarrow, he gently hummed in his head.
“I mean, come on! Can you believe that?! Oh, and now Daffodilpaw keeps bugging me to see if I’m okay. Like, it’s nice and all, but I’m fine!! And on top of that-..” Asphodelpaw rambled on as Pinepaw tuned her out. He truly didn’t mean to; He loves Asphodelpaw’s stories. He just needed to find the right herb.
He let out a satisfied hum as he pulled the yarrow and some roses from the herb shelves. He gently tore the yarrow, glancing over as Asphodelpaw’s nose scrunched in disgust.
He quickly chewed the rose petal, shivering as the pleasant scent from the herb sank into the room. Asphodelpaw loosened slightly, relaxing as she opened her muzzle to taste the difference.
“Sorry. Yarrow feels weird in my mouth, so I gotta clean it down, y’know?” Pinepaw lied, spitting out the rose petal.
Asphodelpaw simply let out a slight nod of acknowledgement, and Pinepaw quickly applied the yarrow and cobweb to her cut.
“Come back to me or Cootstorm if it opens again!” He hummed cheerily.
Asphodelpaw huffed, gently batting his muzzle. “Yeah, yeah. See ya, Pine-Needle!”
Pinepaw stuck out his tongue, gently pushing her side with a paw. “See ya, Aphy!”
“It’s my leg again!” Daffodilpaw explained, pouting. It was almost sunhigh, yet the she-cat hadn’t even left her nest.
“What’s wrong with it?” Beeface asked with a tilt of her head. She sniffed Daffodilpaw’s leg, tail flicking. “It ain’t bleedin’.”
“No, of course not. Don’t worry. It’s just.. well, it’s raining.”
“Yeah, and? Does the water make it too slippery for ya? Plumstripe used to be the clumsiest kit around, let me tell ya! She can maybe give ya some tips on where ta put your claws!”
Daffodilpaw’s head rested in her paws, a sigh escaping from her as she pouted. Pinepaw frowned, gently shuffling closer, just in case, of course.
“It isn’t that, Beeface. When it’s rainy out, it gets all windy, and when it’s windy, it’s all chilly. When it’s chilly, my leg starts itching and aching, and it hurts to move myself leg at all!” Daffodilpaw explained, wincing as she shifted her leg to be more comfortable. She gently licked her leg as Beeface looked at her in pity.
Daffodilpaw squirmed away from her gaze uncomfortably, but Beeface quickly returned to normal.
“Aw, ‘m sorry, kit. If ya want, tomorrow we can go check out some easy huntin’ spots, just in case it’s still a bit chilly out.”
Daffodilpaw seemed to brighten up. “Yeah! Sounds good!” She exclaimed happily.
Beeface rushed off, grinning away as she went to tell Plumstripe how much of a good mentor she was.
“I’ll ask Cootstorm if we have any daisy to help, if you want.” Pinepaw offered.
Daffodilpaw smiled lightly. “That would be great, actually. Thanks, Pine-Needle.”
Pinepaw nodded, smiling back at his sister as he walked out of the den.
Daffodilpaw’s leg hurts when it’s chilly, he noted thoughtfully.
As Pinepaw glanced up at the clouds turning gray, his tail curled over his legs. With a sleepy yawn, he stretched, then padded out of the den. He ran his tongue over his fur, sucking in a worried breath as he approached the medicine den.
Cootstorm wasn’t usually awake yet. Cootstorm didn’t like being woken up.
Pinepaw crouched low, scanning the floor for any loose brambles or twigs or leaves. Nothing.
He gently reached a paw out, staring at Cootstorm. Nothing.
He remained careful as he stalked across the stoney floor. His head ran with relief as he reached the herb shelf. Gently plucking off some daisy leaves from the storage, he braced, then dashed out of the room.
He waited outside, fur bristled as he waited for Cootstorm to rush out and yell.
Nothing.
He peaked inside. He hadn’t woken her up!
He groaned in relief, sitting down with the leaves still held in his jaw. He gently placed them under his paw, and began grooming his fur.
Plop!
A raindrop landed on his muzzle, and he grabbed the leaves, and scrambled off to the apprentices den.
AHHH WHAT A CUTE STORY!!
Pinepaw noting things about his siblings... oh he's a good doctor AND a good brother... my sweet boy
I'm very fond of the accent you gave Beeface in this, it's pretty close to the voicecast I have for her. And her going to brag about being such a good mentor is very fun. Cootstorm not liking to be woken up is extremely accurate.
The nicknames are so cute too; Pine-Needle, oh my gosh. Adorable.
Thank you so much for this, ahh :D I really like your writing style!

Flea Infestation? Use These Professional Tips To Get Rid Of Pests Quickly
You could spend every weekend fixing up your home, shopping for nice accents and new furnishings, but if you've got a pest problem, nothing can cover it up. Although your efforts at great housekeeping aren't totally wasted, you know you need to address the pests. Keep reading for helpful advice on how to get rid of them for good.
One of the ways that you can reduce the amount of centipedes and bugs in your house is to get a dehumidifier. This device will help to take the moisture out of the air, which is an environment that bugs love to go to. This will help to curtail your bug problem in the summer.
If you are apprehensive about using chemical pest control in your home, try traps instead. Physical traps work to attract the pest and then trap it. Some work like traditional mouse traps that snap closed and kill the pest, while others involve a sticky sheet that adheres the pest to the sheet so you can remove it from your home.
To definitively learn whether you have termites, use a trained dog. Qualified humans are only able to tell you if one-third of the house is termite-free. However, trained dogs can verify that the entire home is safe. Dogs are attuned to odors like methane that are released when wood is eaten by termites.
Tumblr media
Check to see if your windows or screens are cracked or ripped as insects can easily penetrate any inconsistencies in your infrastructure. If you see that a seal has been broken, make sure that you fix this or get it replaced immediately so that it does not become an issue in the future.
Keep your garage, basement or any other work area clean if you do projects at home. Make sure that wood scraps and dusts are regularly swept up, collected and disposed of. Termites are not very big, so they do not need big pieces of wood to come in and start munching.
You deserve to be able to put your feet up at night without worrying about what will be under them when you get up. Bugs and rodents are a nightmare to live with and a real hassle to get rid of. Hopefully, you've found a solution to your problem in this article.

Household Pests: Seven Tips For Getting Rid Of Them
Pest control is a topic that most people must become familiar at one point or another due to an unexpected infestation. Information is the key to managing the thorny dilemma common pests can pose. Apply the advice that follows and prepare to be victorious when confronting pests within your own home.
Having mice in your home can be a real turn off, not mentioning they carry diseases. In order to exterminate mice in a family-friendly way, use disposable mouse traps. Line the mouse traps with peanut butter to attract mice. After the mouse takes the bait, the mouse trap should slam shut, and you can safely dispose.
If you're a pet owner, your pets may be the reason pests keep coming back. Take the time to keep your pet's food bowls clean. If any water from their dish is spilled, wipe it up immediately. Store pet food in plastic containers rather than the paper bags they come in. All these things can attract bugs.
Install a cap on your chimney to prevent birds, squirrels and other nuisances from entering. Not only do these animals' nests present a fire hazard, but the critters themselves can carry lice and other parasites. The cap acts as a barricade, keeping intruders out while allowing smoke to pass through.
When it comes to eliminating pests, make sure you start this process at the beginning. If you are dealing with pest issues, try to determine and remove the factors which keep them thriving. Pests may be drawn to your house because water, food and shelter can be found there. Try to fill cracks, clean food sources and block entry to your house.
Pest likes to hide in cracks and small crevices. You should get a caulk gun and fill all the small hiding places you can find. Check for new hiding places regularly and replace the caulk if you need to. You can spray paint over the caulk if you want to conceal it.
If you want to avoid attracting small rodents, bugs and other pests, you want to be careful what you leave sitting around. Make sure that food is put away into containers and stored properly. Also make sure that crumbs are cleaned up and garbage is put away. A lack of attraction will surely keep those pests away.
Knowing how to get rid of the pests in the home will help you get these pests out of your home for good. Use them and remember them for the next time you hear the pests doing their thing. Soon, you will not have any pests getting into your cabinets because they will all be dead.

Dealing with a Mouse Infestation: Tips to Remove Mice from Your Home
Having mice in your home can be frustrating and a lot of tension. These unwelcome guests not only cause structural damage but also pose significant health risks. Mice contaminate surfaces, spread diseases, and leave behind urine, droppings, and nesting materials. If you're dealing with a mouse infestation, here’s a step-by-step guide for pest control mice removal services in your living space effectively and prevent future problems.
Tumblr media
Why Mice Are a Major Concern
Health Hazards: Mice and other rodents carry a wide range of bacterial and viral illnesses. Even cleaning areas previously visited by rodents can expose you to harmful pathogens. Always wear gloves and a mask while dealing with rodent-affected zones.
Property Damage: Mice chew through walls, wires, and storage materials, leaving costly damage in their wake.
Contamination: They leave droppings and urine wherever they travel, contaminating food and household surfaces.
4 Effective Ways to Get Rid off Mice from Your Home
1. Seal Entry Points
The first step in controlling a mouse problem is to stop their access.
Inspect your home for gaps, cracks, or holes that mice could use to enter.
Avoid using spray foam for sealing, as mice can easily chew through it. Instead, use durable materials like metal sheets or wire mesh secured with screws to block their pathways.
2. Modify Their Habitat
Identify what’s attracting mice and make the environment less inviting:
Food: Keep food securely stored in airtight containers and avoid leaving crumbs or pet food out.
Water: Eliminate sources of standing water by fixing leaks and turning off unused irrigation systems.
Shelter: Trim vegetation, such as ivy, that may provide hiding spots for mice around your home. Clear clutter both indoors and outdoors.
3. Use Snap Traps
Snap traps are a classic and effective way to control mice.
Ensure you use traps designed for mice, not rats, as the sizes differ.
Place traps along walls, behind furniture, and in areas where you've spotted droppings or seen mice activity.
Bait traps with peanut butter, seeds, or small pieces of cheese to attract mice.
4. Consider Glue Traps
Glue traps can be used as a secondary measure but should be employed with caution:
Glue traps can capture multiple mice at once, making them effective in severe infestations.
However, they are less humane and may result in live captures, which can increase the risk of contamination due to urine and droppings.
For a more ethical approach, stick to snap traps whenever possible.
Signs of a Mouse Infestation
Scratching Noises
If you hear scratching or scurrying sounds at night, especially inside walls or ceilings, it’s likely that rodents are present.
Be aware that similar noises could also be caused by squirrels, birds, or insects.
Droppings
Rodent droppings in kitchens, storage rooms, or other areas are unmistakable signs of an infestation. Look for small, dark, and pellet-shaped droppings.
When to Call a Professional Pest Control Service
If your mouse problem persists or feels overwhelming, it’s time to call in the experts.
Why Choose a Professional Service?
Professionals can identify and seal entry points effectively, preventing reinfestation.
They use advanced tools and techniques to eliminate mice safely and efficiently.
Chemical control methods like rodenticides should only be used under professional supervision to avoid risks to children, pets, and the environment.
Tumblr media

5. : What’s something you’re ridiculously excited about?
A: Red cockaded woodpeckers, I love them, they are keystone species of the red hills(a region of the south east Usa where I live) and they are on the endangered species list.
They are the only woodpecker that lives in live pine trees and they have generational families! The children help raise the next generation while making their own nest cavities.
They also spread the red heart wood fungus which aids in softening the wood of the live pine trees, which aids in building their cavities. So many things have to come together for this bird to survive.
12. : Something you wish to monologue about?
A: I wish that people understood how beautiful textile art can be to the very thread of it all. Sheep in a far off place or near by were shed for wool, then that wool was cleaned and spun and dyed and shipped off to a store where I bought it and I then incorporated it into a another peice of fabric, this time made of spun cotton, a bloom from the cotton plant which I grew up learning the seasons by when it was in bloom. The needle, a gold tipped needle that is metal and needed to be mined and then crafted into the exact size that I needed so that I could push the thread through fabrics made of different materials, and stitch into a design I chose. I even go so far to mix other media into my designs such as lace and Czech glass seed beads and everything had to be so perfect, and I had to work so hard to be able to purchase those materials and so many people had a hand in making my art happen, even if it is of a little fairy mouse on a mushroom. Isn’t that beautiful?
18: What’s some of the meanings of your name? (Or your Url if you don’t wish to say)
A: The-Crow-goddix-abode comes from my dnd game! The Crow Goddix is the god of death/transportation/and a symbol of change, and they needed a little house, and I see my tumblr as my house on the interwebs.
My name Hymn comes from my need for any name I have to be a song unto the lips of god, and I have complicated issues with my relationship with god. Kai comes from the Cinder Chronicles, a very longtime special interest.

Outstanding Pest Control Tips You Should Know About
Pests, such as mice, insects and other animals, can be very difficult to get rid of once they have invaded your home. In many cases, it is easier to practice prevention rather then extermination. For some easy pest control techniques that will stop these pests from ever reaching your home, keep reading.
Make a simple fruit fly trap using a 2-liter bottle and some cider vinegar or wine. Cut the bottle in half, and invert the top inside the bottom half, like a funnel. Add an inch or so of your chosen liquid, leaving a bit of space between it and the opening of the bottle. The flies can enter, but they cannot fly out and will drown.
Do not expect to get rid of pests by keeping your home clean. It is a myth that you can starve out pests. Many pests can eat things that you would not consider food, like paper or glue. The only way to get rid of pests is to address the problem directly.
Tumblr media
If you want to avoid attracting small rodents, bugs and other pests, you want to be careful what you leave sitting around. Make sure that food is put away into containers and stored properly. Also make sure that crumbs are cleaned up and garbage is put away. A lack of attraction will surely keep those pests away.
Make sure that every single night, you do the dishes in a dishwater or at least wash the food off of the dishes in the sink. The last thing that you will want to do is leave food in the sink, which can be a breeding ground for insects to come in your home.
Nobody wants to be confronted with the nightmare of household pests. However, those who possess a good understanding of how best to deal with them need not worry the next time uninvited guests of this sort appear. Heed the advice listed above and prepare yourself to eradicate even the most stubborn of intruders.

Pest Control 101
Stages of Pest Control Every Rental Property Needs
Pest control. It's something every landlord has to think about, and the presence of vermin can cause problems that affect your reputation as well as potential legal consequences. So, what can you do to properly handle pest control on your rental property.
Here are the stages of pest control:
Pest Reduction Upgrades
The first stage is to do property upgrades that help reduce pest problems. These include:
Sealing any holes in the walls, doors, and inside cabinets. Mice can get through holes the size of a dime. Avoid expanding caulk, which many pests will chew through.
Fixing leaky plumbing, which pests can use as a source of water. Fill holes around the pipes with steel wool.
Caulk crevices around cabinets or baseboards.
Repair warped or broken doors and windows.
Repair rips or tears in insect screens.
Install bulbs with pink, yellow, or orange tints on all exterior lights. These are less attractive to flying insects.
Inspect crawlspaces to look for rodent and ant nests.
You should do an "audit" for problems like this before renting the unit and also between tenants in case issues have developed.
Long Term Maintenance
Long term maintenance that is your responsibility can also help reduce pests. For example, trimming trees that overhang a house removes the "highway" squirrels might use to enter the property. Mulch should not be used right up against the foundation.
Arrange for pest control to enter each unit at least once a year. You may want to do it more often. Put this in the lease if you need to to ensure that tenants are aware. Most pest control services do not require that tenants move their property or not be in the unit when the treatment is done. You may have to do harsher treatments if tenants report a problem.
Provide tenants with an easy way to report sightings of significant pests such as mice, cockroaches, or bed bugs. Sightings of house centipedes should also be reported. Although house centipedes are not dangerous, if you have house centipedes, you have roaches.
Routine Maintenance
You can't always control what your tenants do. However, it's a good idea to educate them, especially in larger buildings where an issue can easily spread to neighboring units, on what they can do to keep pests out of their unit. Some tips you can pass on:
Store all food properly, in sealed containers. Do not leave pet food out overnight. Cover the kitchen trash can.
Empty the trash as soon as it is full. Take stacks of newspapers or cardboard to recycling promptly.
Wash out containers that contained food before putting them in the trash.
Reduce overall clutter
Clean sink and tub drains with baking soda and vinegar regularly. This also reduces clogs.
Clean regularly.
Keep the patio or deck free of leaf litter, mulch, plant clippings, and standing water.
Inspect packages for pests before bringing them inside.
Promptly launder and, if possible, tumble dry clothing when returning from trips. Also treat clothing that has been in storage.
Vacuum the bed and upholstered furniture.
Close exterior doors and use screens if opening windows for temperature control.
Again, provide tenants with a way to report pests and encourage them to do so. Some pest control might be doable by you or your maintenance people, such as providing mouse traps. Keep a regular contract with a pest control company who can come in and deal with infestations both mundane and exotic. Discourage tenants from trying to treat a heavy infestation themselves, although it's not a terrible idea to provide information on simple things they can do, such as repellents.
A good property manager can help you find the right pest control service and give you advice on the best upgrades and long term maintenance to deal with Boston's common pets.

If you are dealing with a stink bug invasion, try to minimize your use of outdoor lights. These pests are drawn to the brightness, so they will move closer to your house when the lights are on, giving them more opportunities to find their way in. Furthermore, draw your blinds in the evening so the light from inside your home does not attract them.

Mouse infestations are a common problem for home and business owners. They can cause damage, needless mess and costly clean-ups. They can also transmit diseases. Getting rid of them requires expert pest control in Brisbane.
Rodents can contaminate food, chew and gnaw through wires, furniture, fabrics, clothes and cause other damage to property. They can also spread diseases such as Salmonella and Typhus. They can also spread a variety of parasites including fleas, mites and ticks.
A good way to keep mice away from your premises is to remove any places where they like to hide or nest. You can also install traps around the property. It is important to know where the mice are living and sleeping so that you can place traps at these areas. It is also important to use professional baits and traps that are safe for the environment. Rentokil Dual Autogate Connect is an advanced detection, monitoring and baiting solution for rodents. It has a patented design that provides a more effective method of protecting buildings from rodents.
Rodents like rats and mice are some of the most common pests to invade homes and businesses in Brisbane. They can cause a number of problems, including contaminated food, serious property damage, and the spread of disease. They can also create a lot of stress for homeowners and businesses, especially when they are untreated. Regular pest inspections and rodent proofing can help prevent rat or mouse infestations.
Mice are known to spread diseases through contaminated food and faeces, which they leave behind. They can also be destructive to things such as cartons of food, pantry items, dishwasher cables, and water hoses. If you notice rips or holes in these items, it is time to call the professionals.
Experts will inspect your premises and determine the source of the problem. They will then use a combination of traps, poison (in certain situations), and other safe and environmentally-friendly methods to remove the rodents from your property. They will also give you prevention tips and post-inspect your premises to understand if the problem has been resolved or not.
Rodents can cause a lot of damage to homes and businesses. They also spread diseases and contaminate food. To keep mice away, a home should be clean and sanitized. Dishes should be washed after use and food should be stored in containers with tight lids.
Pest control professionals offer a variety of mouse control solutions in Brisbane. Some of these include trapping and poison baits. Some may also recommend exclusion, which involves plugging any holes and cracks that mice can exploit to enter a property. Other options include pre construction rat control and monitoring solutions that detect rodent activity.
Mice and rats often enter a property through the smallest gaps and crevices, including around pipes, electrical wiring and unsealed doors and windows. These gaps and crevices can be hard to find and are difficult for homeowners to seal on their own. A professional should inspect a property, identify where the mice are getting in and provide long-term preventative measures.
Most Brisbane homes experience rodents from time to time. Rats are excellent climbers and can easily get into a home through cracks, crevices, under gutters, through tree branches that touch the roof and through gaps around the letterbox. Rodents breed rapidly if food is abundant and numbers inside the house can increase quickly especially after floods, rains and when the weather turns cold.
Ideally, rodent control should be included in the planning phase for new construction/demolition projects. Unfortunately, this rarely happens. Consequently, PCOs often provide pest control services during construction/demolition projects. These projects are very dynamic and rely on the flexibility of the PCO to respond to changing conditions at the construction site.
These changes include initial worksite colonization by rodents with excavation, clearing/grubbing and demolition; shifts in site activities that may disperse rodents within the project area (e.g., construction trailers and on-site storage); and, demobilization at the end of a demolition or construction project with loss of on-site storage and food. Strategic Pest Control Advice and Project Assistance can reduce the impact of rodents at construction sites. To know more about Mouse Control Solutions, visit the Bug Out Pest Solutions website or call 0426263320.

Mice Control Naturally: Effective Ways to Keep Your Home Rodent-Free
Tumblr media
Mice infestations can be a nuisance and pose health risks, but there are natural ways to get rid of them without using harmful chemicals and poisons. These eco-friendly methods are not only safe for your family and pets, but they are also better for the environment. In this article, we'll dive into some effective techniques for natural mice control that are both helpful and fair to all parties involved. Whether you're dealing with a minor mouse problem or a full-blown infestation, we've got you covered with practical tips and tricks.
Seal Entry Points: The first step in mice control Brisbane is to prevent them from entering your home in the first place. Mice can squeeze through tiny openings, so thoroughly inspect your home for gaps around doors, windows, vents, pipes, and any other potential entry points. Seal these openings using materials like steel wool, wire mesh, or caulk.
Maintain Cleanliness: Mice are attracted to food sources and places to nest. Maintaining cleanliness in and around your home is a natural way to deter mice. Store food in airtight containers, clean up crumbs and spills promptly, and take out the trash regularly. By removing access to food, you make your home less inviting to mice.
Natural Predators
Consider introducing natural predators like cats into your household. Cats are known for their hunting instincts and can help keep your home free of mice. However, keep in mind that not all cats are skilled hunters, so choose a breed known for its mouse-catching abilities.
Essential Oils and Spices: Mice dislike the smell of certain essential oils and spices. You can create a natural repellent by mixing a few drops of essential oils like eucalyptus, cinnamon, or clove with water and spraying it around your home. Alternatively, sprinkle ground spices in areas with mouse activity.
Homemade Repellent Spray: Create a natural repellent spray by combining water, white vinegar, and a few drops of essential oil with strong scents like peppermint or lemon. Spray this mixture in areas where you've seen mice or near potential entry points.
Outdoor Maintenance: Mice often enter homes through yards and gardens. Keep your outdoor areas tidy by trimming overgrown vegetation, removing clutter, and elevating woodpiles and garbage bins to discourage mice from nesting in these areas.
Regular Inspection: Even after implementing natural control measures, continue to monitor your home for signs of mice. Inspect traps, replace bait, and refresh natural repellents as needed to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
Mice infestations can be a nuisance for homeowners, but there are effective and safe methods to control them. Opting for natural mice control methods is not only eco-friendly but also safe for your family and pets. By choosing these natural approaches to mice control, you can maintain a pest-free home without resorting to chemical solutions. Not only are these methods effective, but they are also safe for your family and the environment. Remember that consistency and regular inspections are key to long-term success in keeping your home rodent-free.
