I have such a love/hate relationship with "spooky" or "creepy" history as it exists in podcasts and whatnot.
#on one hand yes there are some sincerely creepy things about the past#but some of it is literally just “people had this custom isn't it creepy” and it's literally just slightly different from what we do now#victorian seances and spiritualism? pretty spooky and fascinating#mourning jewelry and keepsakes from dead children or relatives? Not spooky just slightly different#and I am sorry but I don't personally think hair mementos are that creepy
