Jughead initially offers Archie Tommy's motorcycle, before lending him his motor scooter. Two differences uneasy to unpack. Motorcycle becomes a symbol of danger. Jughead not the type to own one -- maybe discourage minors from motorcycles. Licensing the issue for the subplot that is getting removed from this story.

Veronica's new skirt length does not show in the second panel. We do see changes in Archie's outfit -- he now has on green socks!

Police officer not getting Archie a speeding ticket excised from narrative. Though Archie spends a number of panels at Betty's, we skip past the sequence as we never get a good look at her skirt length.

And here is Betty's changing hemline.

Is this the universe where Fred Andrews is a serious mayoral candidate, because otherwise I do not know where he gets this privilege.

The final page and 2/3 get new positioning and I guess a somewhat new vague setting. The move to Jughead taking off with his scooter adds a non-chalance and casual indifference to the harm he led Archie into here.

Somewhere in America, a Howard Johnson Motor Lodge sits untouched.

Behind a chain link fence, down an overgrown driveway, beyond the plywood covered doors, each room is fully furnished and stuck in time. Many of the original midcentury features remain, including the distinct HOJO light fixtures, headboards and wall dividers.

The A-framed Gate Lodge is also still there. The orange roof and blue spire are slightly visible from the road. While passing, you would have to look up at the perfect moment to even catch a glimpse of it. Most people drive right by, having no idea what’s been abandoned back there for the last 40 years.

Isn't it a little curious Veronica disappears from the Little Archie version of the story?
